As I was driving home from work today I received a call from an Asian man yelling at me, from this restaurants number, because my food has been ready for pick up for a half hour. I explained that I did not order food. He proceeded to yell at me. He said the order was from my number. I told him if he could stop screaming at me and let me talk maybe we could figure out what happened. He just yelled again and told me I am banned from ordering again and that I am a horrible person. I then thought it was a prank call so I told him to F off. I googled the number when I got home and it was this Japanese restaurant. I am guessing someone wrote the number down wrong on their end or he dialed wrong. By the time I got home and googled it, it said they were closed. Around 4pm. There's a general lack of Chinese food in the south burbs, not to mention Chinese food that's truly enjoyable to eat and look at. Thank goodness my girlfriend and I found Bamboo Garden. From the moment you enter, you can tell that the proprietors care deeply about the qualify of their food and of their guests' experience. The Seafood Udon Noodle soup was excellent, with great huge helpings of tender scallops, calamari, shrimp, and crab. The orange chicken was crispy, and the meat was perfectly cooked (not dry and stringy like I'm used to from take out places) and beautifully presented on a bed of fresh broccoli. I also heard other diners commenting on how fresh the ingredients were. You can tell from the first bite that Bamboo Garden doesn't skimp on quality. This is a real gem of the south suburbs. So...I went to visit my dad for Father's day and he was so exited that I was coming by for the weekend that he took my mom and I to Bamboo Garden. I had heard both my parents and sister rave about this place and to be honest, I was expecting the menu to have slim pickings. Was I wrong? Yes. The food was so amazing!! I rarely go out for Chineese, Thai or Japaneese fare, but I was enjoying every bite. The miso was perfect, not over-salted and plenty of tofu bits and seaweed. The Thai Basil rice is amazing and enough to share with about 2-3 people. The highlight that I enjoy about Bamboo Garden is the great service and the deemphasis on getting you in and out. Come on...when I go out for a meal with family and freinds, don't rush me! You can definitely taste the love that's put into your meal here. Don't forget to try the rice pudding. It's non-dairy, nutty and sweetened just right. Soo yummy. I'll be back again for sure! read more

LOVED the Chicken Pad Thai! I'm a huge fan of ChiTung in Evergreen Park on the south side but I loved theirs a lot more! Highly recommended.

Typical take-out (americanized) chinese food. It is pretty good and pretty cheap. The vegetable egg foo young was a little bland, but my husband liked the general tso's chicken. The sweet and sour chicken had a surprisingly nice flavor but the egg rolls that we ordered weren't that great. I would probably skip those next time or try the vegetable egg rolls. They threw in a couple of free crab rangoon, which was unexpected and nice! I inquired about delivery prices in case we don't want to drive out for it some night, and they charge $2.50 per delivery. read more

This place is awesome. I live in Midlothian, and not many places in Tinley will deliver here, so that's awesome that their delivery radius is large. Their Kung Boa chicken is delicious. I get it every time and it's always hot and fresh with tons of peanuts. The seasoning is perfect. They are also willing to adjust how spicy the dish is. They will do it upon request for any dish. I mostly get the Kung Boa chicken, but I have had several of their other dishes, and all have been fantastic. The crab rangoon is another favorite. Their service is prompt and courteous. The lady who takes my order over the phone is always so polite, and remembers me by name. The delivery drivers also have impeccable service. They are always on time. In short this place is great. Inexpensive, delicious food delivered on time right to your door. Can't go wrong. read more

I was disappointed when Yelp* listed this as a Thai restaurant: NOT! It's your basic Chinese food only. Spartan decor. All courses served at once (appetizers/entrees). Food was your basic-issue Chinese, nothing more or less. Was charged for something we never ordered (promptly corrected). If you live in the immediate neighborhood, and I mean IMMEDIATE, and have a hankerin' for Chinese, then this will suffice. The latest trip we took a big group of friends out to Bamboo Garden and even with a large group of 15 people the food still arrived tasting as wonderful as if it were just my boyfriend and myself. It did take a little while for the food to come out but that has to be expected when there is only one chef in the kitchen. Still a tasty experience! read more

We live in Oak Forest and Bamboo Garden is, by far, the best Chinese Food in the area. The woman who answers the phone, when you call for delivery, could not be more pleasant and professional. Talk about AMAZING!!! First I would like to begin by addressing the level of service. Ever since my first time visiting this place and ordering by telephone, the owner knew my name by voice. She was always extremely friendly when taking my order and she would even suggest various dishes that she thought I might enjoy based on previous orders. The food is always fresh hot and delicious. As a matter of fact, I do remember on one occasion I called to order food and she explained that they were a little bit busy. She asked if it would be OK to take my order in 30 minutes because she wanted to make sure it was delivered fresh hot and crispy. I was more than appreciative. Even when you get delivery service, you are greeted with a warm smile and friendly conversation. I tell everybody about this place!!!I love Asian food but this is seriously top notch. You have to try the crab Rangoon. If you get lucky, you'll come in and see them making it right by the kitchen. It doesn't get any better than that. Oh and by the way, you must try the salt-and-pepper shrimp, the Cantonese panfried noodles, and the orange chicken. I've been getting Chinese from Bamboo now for over 7 years and it has NEVER been a let down. From the owners to the staff everyone is friendly and makes you feel welcomed. Not only is the ambiance great but the food is AMAZING. I always go with fried rice with extra meat and always crab ragoons, then I switch up the entree and have liked everything I've tried. I've been to Bamboo Garden now 6 times, and each time has been great! On my second visit, I ordered shrimp fried rice during lent, but they were out of shrimp. So instead of telling me they couldn't fill the order, they substituted lobster for no additional cost. We have tried different dishes, such as Kung Pao, Szechwan Delight, chop suey & and each has turned out very very good! If you ask for a item removed, or added, no problem, everything is made fresh so you don't get the, "oh, we can't, it just comes that way' And if you ask for extra spicy they will give it too you. I can't tell you how many times we have tried at other restaurants and they never seem to get it hot enough! Bamboo Garden is our new steady Chinese/Thai restaurant! read more
