Hibachi is one of my favorite kinds of food to eat. When i get hibachi i go to Bambu. Bambu has always the best and juiciest hibachi steak. The steak melts in your mouth and if you haven't tried the fried rice, you are missing out. The rice has the perfect taste and the perfect amount of egg in it. The people who make this food, the hibachi chefs, are always enthusiastic and do their job well. They create a great atmosphere and i always have a good time.But, when i ordered my favorite drink which is a virgin strawberry daquiri. It wasn't as good as i expected it to be. Awful Service unless you into group hoarding like eating at knights of the round table or other tourist trap like locations. If your looking for a fun night out with great service and comfortable environment then this is not the place. Try the competition not here! I asked the management to please turn on the heat because I got up from the table and can see that the temp reading actually read "48" and I personally tried to turn it up but it was "OFF. I know restaurants will do this to conserve on the heating bill but when it freezing outside and a special night like valentines day and EVERYONE is eating with their coats on and still complaining .....turn it up. read more

Food was very good but the service not so great. The cook was Hispanic and did a great job preparing our meals and he was very sociable and very funny. He served us very well, more and better than our waitress. Our waitress never came by to see if everything was okay and we needed more drinks/refills and nothing. Once we were done eating we wanted to leave our tip to the cook and when we asked the waitress if we could speak to him she didn't want to go get him and said he had left. But what do you know the cook comes out we waved at him to come by and one of the people we were with gave him the tip, I mean he was the one who did everything. Something at Bamboos made me sick. I had the sesame ahi tuna salad to start and then crab topped tuna sushi specialty roll. I'm wondering if the crab was bad. Disappointing as it had come highly recommended. read more

Went here last night. Clean comfortable upscale sushi and hibachi restaurant. Service was friendly. Food was very good and beautifully presented. The curried shrimp soup could have had more shrimp. There were only two, but it was well spiced and the veggies and other seafood in it were very good. You can sit at the sushi bar and watch them prepare the food, or at regular tables. There is also an area with group seating for hibachi. We will be returning. read more

The sushi is delicious but the service is a little off. I've been a couple times and every time the waitstaff is pretty slow until it is time to leave and/or awkwardly hangs around our table too often. During one visit, they cleared our plates while we were still chewing! The food is good and fairly priced, just don't expect a quick meal. read more

The food was good, but I wouldnt say it was worth the wait. We went for my friends birthday dinner and it took them 45min to bring soup and appetizers for a party of 6. Our water glasses were not refilled until more than half way through our dining experience. One appetizer was missing. The curry and the rolls were good, but not super original or the best I've ever tasted. Overall, it took us nearly 2 hours to be fully served. Service was unimpressive to say the least. read more

I'm probably mixed feelings because its predecessor Kabuki was my absolute favorite. The place is definitely pricier. The ambiance feels like your in a really fancy place. Don't get me wrong the place is pretty. It feels a bit stuffy. The waiter service, they are quick and nice. The sushi is good but there isn't much of a selection with maki rolls.I'm happy they have the recipe for the clear soup that Kabuki had but it just isn't the same. read more

Awkward amount of seats at Hibachi tables. If you have a big group (7 or more) you'll be separated or crammed together. The employees didn't seem too happy to make us happy. I ordered some sushi and my roll had aluminum foil in it. I told the waitress (not to make a big deal, but to let them know so no one else consumed it) and she couldn't have cared less. A quick "sorry" and walked away...didn't even take it off the bill! The hibachi itself was okay, nothing special. Before leaving I stopped in the bathroom and it was disgusting. Reminded me of a bathroom in a crummy club in NYC at 3 am after it has been trashed. Water on the floor, doors barely closing, marks all over the place, a "caution:wet floor" sign knocked over in the middle of the floor. It has such a nice atmosphere I wish the food and service matched it. read more

We have only been there once for appetizers & drinks but the food was fantastic, the drinks were made perfect, the service was great and the atmosphere was fantastic. The price was a little high but so very worth it. I recommend this restaurant to all and I look forward to going there for Hibachi with my family. read more

If you're looking to get early on-set diabetes, or you think Asians are still ok being called Orientals, then maybe Bambu is the place for you. The menu was fine, the execution was horrendous. Everything was completely excessive, drowning in sweetness, doused with mayonnaise, and drenched in hoisin. Not only is it embarrassing to serve your version of pork sliders on half mini brioche buns with 1 on the bottom bun and 1 on the top bun, but the house salad was dressed in mayonnaise, the crab rolls were so wet they seemed to be defrosting in the spicy mayo. I've never had a worse version of kung pao chicken... With a pool of hoisin sauce in the middle of overcooked white rice. So much so that we only ate the rice and left the cup of hoisin sauce in the plate. The atmosphere is fine. the decor is off a page of a restaurant supply catalogue. It's a facade of a place that exists to give everyone an idea, however far stretched the idea is, of what Asian food is. But my god, how they could have gotten Asian food that wrong, is very disappointing. read more

This place was great, my bf and i had initially gone to Ichiro in danbury next to walmart but after them telling us there would be a 25 minute wait we left and tried Bambu, no wait at all. We got to sit out on their patio and got served like royalty! The food was good, we got Philadelphia rolls and two hibachi entrees, one chicken and the other chicken and scallop combo. The rolls were on point and the chicken was delicious but my scallops were so-so but nothing not to expect from hibachi preparation. We also got tempura green tea ice cream and it was the perfect way to end the night. The service was so attentive and polite which is my main reason why i'm writing a review which i never do for restaurants, but i just had to; even though we were outside they knew the exact moments to give us privacy and the moments we needed them, thats great service. The only thing I have to knock off a star for is that i wish they had a better way to keep bugs away from the outdoor seating like patio bug torches they have at Cheesecake factory; my boyfriend and i both left with mosquito bites all over. I threw up in my mouth!!!!! Ok let me explain...My wife and I went here due to rave reviews on how good the sushi was....so we decided to give it a try. The Sushi was pretty good,nothing to brag about....but then came the kicker...as my wife and I were eating ( we sat at the bar)...the bartender lifted up her shirt and was showing off her post baby stomach!!!!!!!!! She must have just had a baby within the last couple of months because it was still extremely saggy and stretched out...it was the most disgusting and inappropriate thing I have ever witnessed in a restaurant! My wife couldn't even finish her meal...we left and will never be going back. If you do go to bambu please try to go on a night when this bartender is NOT working, we were told this was not the first time she has done this, or you too will lose your dinner!!!!!
