    Kani Salad

We were staying in an AirBnb in New Fairfield and wanted some hibachi. We made a reservation for 7pm for a Friday night and it was very socially distanced inside. To my surprise, the hibachi chefs still did a nice show even just for my fiancé and I. We ordered the kani salad and salmon avocado roll, both of which were good (don't expect the best tasting sushi here though!) For hibachi, I got the salmon and steak combo with fried rice (+$2). My fiancé got the chicken and shrimp combo with fried rice too. I liked how the dishes came with the standard salad and clear soup, as well as lo mein, veggies, and extra shrimp for both. Overall, a yummy lowkey dinner!

Came here for some drinks and dinner on a Saturday night and had a good experience. We originally wanted to do hibachi but it was packed so we decided to sit at the bar and just ordered hibachi there instead of waiting. I had a lychee martini which was made perfect. The sushi I ordered is a bit tinier than I'd like, more like a snack size. The hibachi was really good, flavorful and the sauce to go with it was good. Overall a good experience just wish the sushi rolls were so tiny.

Came here for sushi and it was REALLY good! We had the Philadelphia Roll, the Fire Island Roll, The Spicy Cowgirl. I am not a fan of seaweed paper so I asked for all the sushi rolls be made with soybean paper. No complaints, a great meal and looking forward to going again! They were also open for habachi for people that are into that, it sounded fun from what I can hear in the other room!

We came for Hibashi. I had fillet mignon and scallops.. best I've had. The fillet mignon melted in my mouth and our cook was lovely! Highly recommend this place!!

Nice Japanese steakhouse in Danbury. Hibachi is always great and you kind of can't go wrong but there are obviously some things that set places apart. Everything was tasty and we had the angel roll to start which had a really great combo of fish and delicious roe! The edamame was also nicely salted and the beef negimaki is a delicious must try appetizer. For my hibachi I got steak and salmon. I didn't order shrimp because the meal always comes with two pieces (typically) sometimes a few more. This was clearly the case here but then the chef just gave my brothers girlfriend extra shrimp. My boyfriend didn't get any and neither did my brother. Neither of them really cared but I would've loved to steal my boys shrimp and it was weird I got the typical two pieces but he did not. We also asked for the rice to be well done and extra crispy. Our waiter went to do this, got the surface area really good but then didn't let it crisp. It was pretty lightly fried if you ask me. Overall a great birthday meal for my sister and fun and entertaining! Great service in terms of drinks and clearing plates. And great food, but I thought my few comments above could help with easy improvements! Check out @exploreations on Instagram for more pictures.

It said this place used to be really good but unfortunately I had to give it three stars because they have really made the fish paper thin with the sushi and the plates are very small now. For $26 bucks it hurts our, the customers, pockets. Sorry guys.

Great Sushi!! make sure to try the Tuna Pizza Appetizer Will is a great sushi chef, almost as good as Nick the owner who runs Yokahama in New Milford Fun environment, gets a little wild on Saturday nights when they do karaoke; but food and bar are great!

Hibachi is awesome, not greasy like others in Danbury. Recommend the Bambu for two, you'll be bringing home extras for tomorrow lunch

Stopped by for a late lunch…read more Open floor. No one was there seated, but it was around 2pm on a Friday. We were led to a table against the wall. Waiter was friendly and gave us some time to make our selections. I chose the egg roll, tangerine beef. Hubby chose the orange chicken. I asked the waiter if the soda came in a can. He said yes. We then waited for our meal. He returned quickly with my soda, in a glass with lots of ice. Not what I expected. But I guess I wasn't specific about my drink order. My egg roll was good. Cut decoratively in half at an angle, piping hot. Our food arrived shortly. Both plates were generous and came with white rice. Cut a portion in small pieces to taste with rice. Tasted so good, burned my tongue a little it was so hot. Ate a bit more, and that's when my mouth started burning up! The dish was a little more spicy than I expected. Tried to eat more, but it was too much for me. My hubby on the other hand was in his glory. He Loves heat. The spiciest the better. He tried mine and said it was just as spicy as his, which he loved. So, I just thought we would take mine home for him to enjoy later. I have to say it was good, before I had to cry uncle. So would definitely have to return for another try and let them know I can't take the spiciness. I did notice that the restaurant was busy with takeout orders. So I guess that's their main business. So I wouldn't say this was a cozy place. But the food is good. Lots of parking outside since they're next to a supermarket and liquor store. There weren't any 'lunch' specials, so this was over $50 with tip. By the way, lots to choose from the menu. I only took pictures of some pages.

I got the Pho with duck, and my wife got the crispy duck dinner. Both dishes were "meh" at best. Below average. As far as service... it was harried and we were only one of two couples eating in this "NOT so cozy" restaurant. We went at 5:30 expecting to wait because it was small and "cozy" and it was Chinese New year. (1) no problem eating in during dinner hours (2) not a stitch of celebratory anything for Chinese New Year.. not even a place mat. No chinese noodles at the table and there was one continuous plain bench and brown tables (no table cloths) on the opposite side aka cafe style and cafeteria style seats. Hardly "cozy" at all. Overall high expectations, below average experience, ambiance and food.

It's always interesting to see what kinds of banchan places offer, and I love that it's usually different each time. I absolutely loved the radish kimchi!! Such great flavor. The bulgogi was good, but it maybe needed a little more salt or something extra? It felt like it was missing just a tiny something. Still very pleasant overall! When I got home, I had to try the kimchi jjigae. Have you ever had something so insanely good it could make you cry?!? It tasted like it was made with so much love. There were so many different flavor profiles happening at once. It was a truly magical moment. I already know what I'm ordering next time I go, and I really hope the same chef is there. 10/10!!!
