Vegetables: Slices of carrots, cucumber, green onions, a radish of some sort or jicama, and lettuce Noodles - These were cold but pleasant. They were rice noodles. Two sauces: There was a fish sauce and a more soy type sauce. Both of these sauces were flavorful and worked well with the other ingredients. The one thing that was off was the steak. So the pieces came on skewers and they had a good flavor on the outside, but I think the cut of meat was weird. It tasted very "beefy" like stew meat. Usually for this, I would have thought it would be thinner cut or flank steak. I think the meat seemed to only be seasoned on the outside. Presentation was OK. My friend and I had lunch at Bao Nine. Personally, I ordered two baos (the bao boa and bang bang shrimp), taro chips, and dessert bao. We shared the taro chips as an appetizer. The chips came with two sauces, a cream based horseradish dipping sauce and a lighter sweet chili sauce. I thought that the chips tasted better without sauce but if I were to choose between the two sauces, I would recommend dipping the chips in the sweet chili sauce. The bang bang shrimp bao never disappoints (this is my 2nd time coming to bao nine and I ordered the bang bang shrimp bao my first visit as well) and the bao boa was decent since the meat was tender and the sauce was creamy. As a side note, in all honesty though, I did pick off the jalapeno from my bang bang shrimp since I so not tolerate spicy food or spicy garnishes that well due to my low spice tolerance. Lastly, for dessert, the dessert bao was basically cut-up pieces of bao, coated in cinnamon sugar and there was a condensed milk glaze to dip or drizzle over the bao. I choose to dip rather than drizzle the dessert bao. My friend was pretty full at this point, since he ate three baos, so I ate most of the dessert bao by myself.
