The food is simply amazing, with the best pizza I've had in Seattle. The sauces have amazing depth and the pasta is fresh. A quick note about staff, the majority of interactions have been disappointing and inconsistent and unfriendly. I know many small businesses are struggling with due to the staffing shortage, but at other places, people respond with kindness and grace. Have you ever complained that the food was too salty? Well you don't have to worry about that here! They don't even know what salt is here at BDC! I'd argue that they don't know what flavor is either, but that may be a bit harsh, plus I'm only 1 opinion. We ordered the meatballs along with a margherita pizza and despite appearing delicious they were both MEH -- nothing special, almost bland! Very disappointing because I've never encountered such bland Italian food. I'll say though that the pizza crust was nice and thin and crisp, but the taste of charred crust was really all I tasted, and not because it was overpowering but because the sauce tasted like only a whisper of marinara. One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle! I have never been disappointed in the food or service. My preference are the small plates (rather than pizza) and they are each unique and delicious. The Bacala are not to be missed. Also the farrotto (risotto style farro) with butternut squash is unbelievable! They make their own sausages which are always tasty. Last week they had Calabrian sausages with peppers, onions and potatoes - you definitely want bread with it! It is a fun, casual place with great, colorful art and a nice heated patio also. I came here with my girl friend for a weekend dinner around 7, and it was pretty packed when we got there. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations but you could tell the waitress that you don't mind sitting at the bar, which was what we did and it ended up being around a 40 min wait for us. The menu consists of small plates to share, salads, some sliced meats, cheeses, and of course, the pizzas! There is not a huge selection of pizzas to choose from, but everything sounded amazing. We were starving and ended up ordering two to share - the funghi and the margherita. Both were so so good! The pizzas were thin, had the perfect char to them, and were not overloaded with ingredients to make them fancy. The simplicity is what really helped highlight the products they use. They also bring you a pair of scissors so you can cut the pizza yourself. Highly recommend coming here for some good Neapolitan pizza! I can't wait to come back for some more and to try some of their smaller plates also. read more

I really enjoy their pizza but the lower rating is because they need to upgrade their paper gift certificate process. During my visits, I couldn't call ahead to place my order and when online ordering was available gift certificates weren't accepted. I was told to pay for my order online then ask for a refund when I got to the restaurant. Then they could ring up my order again with the gift certificate. Not the best experience especially when some of the staff don't know how to process a gift certificate when you try to use it. Hope they can upgrade to a card system. read more

I have literally been counting down the days until the opening of Bar del Corso! I was checking the Beacon Hill Blog every day until they finally posted an opening date for this week! Why is this such a big deal? Well, because Beacon is seriously lacking in restaurants and at this point, Corso is in its own class because there's nothing even close to similar in this neighborhood. I am so stoked that there is a neapolitan pizza place in my 'hood now! The prices are really great. $9 for the margherita and $12 for the fancier pizzas. Much cheaper than my beloved Via Tribunali. The space/decor is really nice. It's a big, open space with a full view of their gorgeous pizza oven, which I hear was actually shipped from Italy. Our server was great, letting us know what she suggested and pointed us to the vegetarian options. The tomato salad was excellent, the risotto balls (!!!!) were an awesome new experience and the fresh, spreadable mozzarella on crusty bread was melt in your mouth good. Now, here's where I was a little disappointed: I liked the appetizers better than I liked the actual pizza. That said, the pizza was still good, just not quite as good as I was expecting. I look forward to seeing how their menu changes seasonally and making this a regular spot to visit in my neighborhood. read more

What an outstanding neighborhood gem! We arrived at 5:30 on a Tuesday evening and the place was packed. It worked out well because we sat at the bar and it was fun to watch the food being made. The first thing I noticed was the prices on the menu. Ballpark figure: $35-$45 bottle of wine, appetizers ranging from $6-$10 and entrees and pizzas roughly $10-$15. Wow! We started with the sardine crostini, fried risotto balls ($5 for 3), Escarole Hearts & Castelfranco salad and a pizza from the Specials Board. Everything was mouthwatering. Great cocktail selection too. I was told that they have a garden in the back and home grown most their veggies. So fresh! Impressive food, cocktails and service. Flying solo for one evening, I stopped by Bar Del Corso for dinner and a drink. The restaurant, with a 1940s retro feel, was lively but I was still able to get seated immediately. After sampling several cocktails in Portland this past weekend, I have to say that the Milano Spritz I had at Bar Del Corso was the best of the lot (except for Dot's martinis, of course). Made with Campari, orange juice and prosecco this drink was gorgeous to behold and tasty too, with the perfect balance of sweet, tart and bite. Kudos to the bartender! As I sipped my cocktail, I ruminated the Windows 8 preview session I attended earlier in the day. They had a Microsoft "technical evangelist" speaking there. Yeah, I'm a bit of a Luddite, but aside from the security leaks, Windows XP was Microsoft's last decent operating system. The gimmick behind Windows 8 is "metro tiles". And yep, Microsoft still is on its post-XP bandwagon of hiding menus and controls and making navigation a nightmare and doubling the number of clicks you need to do to get anywhere. I thought it was amusing that more than once the evangelist remarked that he had become lost in shifting between applications in his Win8 demonstration. And Microsoft expects the casual user to navigate this thing? Oy vey. I love my MacBook, that's all I gotta say. Bar Del Corso's menu is lean with pizzas being the emphasis. It was rather expensive to order exclusively from the starters menu, but I did anyway because I wanted to sample as many of the dishes as possible. Since it is rare to find, I automatically ordered the Grilled Octopus. It was amazing! Cooked to a perfect doneness, the octopus pieces had a nice bit of crunchiness on their exterior. Oh man, but the peperonata broth the octopus came in was fantastic. In the broth were carmelized onions and roasted tomatoes. The lamb sausage with lentils was yummy. The lamb-sausage-in-a-skin was nicely spiced. The lentils came in a tasty sauce that contained kale (or was that spinach or collard greens?) and garlic. The Suppli al Telefono, described on the menu as "Roman street food: fried risotto balls & mozzarella" were delicious. But having said that, I felt they were just a bit plain. Beacon Hill has really been coming up in the last few years (evidently, they were just waiting for me to move away...we hardly had anything when I lived here). Bar Del Corso is a great example, maybe the best of the bunch, that shows what this neighborhood is turning into. They've found existing space on Beacon Avenue and turned it its abundant potential into a genuinely welcoming dining room. Parking is becoming a bit of a production in this neighborhood--there are spots, though not quite by the fistful, like there used to be. But that's just a sign of success. The signage is modest here, but the picture windows clue you in quickly. The place is evidently packed every night, which makes a lot of sense. It certainly was packed last night. There's a long bar to the right, and 3 rows of tables to the left. There's a reclaimed feeling to most of the carpentry; the wood looks aged and refinished, and the balustrades and whatnot are pipes bolted into place. In the waiting area, when the crowd shuffles around, you can feel the floor flex beneath them. It's definitely old construction, which gives it considerable charm. The service is friendly without being rushed or fake, and moves very quickly to get everything done. All the details set the right tone for a relaxed meal in a nice place--everything's attractive on the table, but not overly fancy. They bring wine in what appear to be little pudding cups: small, straight-sided, flat-bottomed glass vessels. They hold a full pour for sure, but they're quite an unusual variation on the usual glassware. No doubt they save a lot of space in storage, bus tubs, etc. The menu is carefully edited. There are fewer than half a dozen each of pizzas, apps, entrees, and small plates, with a couple specials each night. What's there appears to all be great, though. We had a very tender and flavorful octopus appetizer, along with the suppli di telefono, which were without a doubt the best fried cheese dish ever made. There's tomato and rice in with the soft white cheese, encased by a very thin and perfectly executed breading. No oil, everything cooked through, explosively flavored. The pizza crust is equally spectacular--very thin but with great chew to it, showing lots of small scorching spots (clearly cooked in an extremely hot oven). We had the wild nettle pesto and pork belly pizza. Wonderful flavors throughout. The dessert specials all sounded interesting, and the huckleberry panna cotta was fantastic. The prices here are reasonable for such high quality, and everything about the place feels like it would be a wonderful regular stop. Definitely be back. read more

We have never been here before and were excited to try it out after so many glowing reviews from friends. The food was great- the salt cod and potato appetizer was delicious as well as the farro risotto (with prosciutto and asparagus). The pizzas are good, cocktails are yummy but unfortunately none of it matters if you have a wait staff that could care less; the indifference is rude. It literally left a bad taste in our mouths. First time we came, we got in, waited a few minutes for our table and off we go!! Second time around, we waited about 15-20 minutes. Our waitress was attentive even though the place was full. That's a good sign. I wish I sat on the bar counter to check out all the kitchen action but the table was way too cute to resist. And the bar was full. So the table it is! On to our food! Usually, you go to pizza places for what else- pizza! But this place? They got it down. They had so many small plates specials, I almost skipped my pizza. Now that's what I love. All the small plates are around $6- $12 and pizzas are around $15. Affordable? Yes! **** Grilled octopus with heirloom peperonata - check! ( My fav) ** Special meatballs in tomato sauce - check! **Ooey goeey burrata with hot pepper and crostini -check! ( Delish) **Vongole alla marinara- check! ** Fried risotto balls??? check! ***Margherita pizza with tomato, basil and mozzeralla di bufala - check! (Yummm!) **Romana with anchovies, goathorn peppers and mozzarella - chec **Corono di Capra with housemade sausage, pickled goathorn peppers, garlic- check check! ***Funghi pizza- with homemade sausage, tomatoes, pecorino & fontina ? check check check! And some marscapone thing that I can't recall. My favorites from this pizza joints are definitely their small plates. Their pizzas are good but I think the small plates are much better in flavors. Get one, get all. Can't go wrong in such price point either. Margherita pizza was delicious but the other ones I tired are a little salty for my tastebud. I also prefer olive oil based pizzas with seafood/shellfish/eggs over tomato sauce based pizzas. That being said, I'd happily come back here and eat small plates instead of pizza. Pizza is some of the best Seattle has to offer; but service can be hit or miss in my experience.

Packed on a saturday night, and admittedly, I wondered why they didn't set some tables outside for people to have a drink while they waited. Maybe they can't serve outside? The wait wasn't really long though, but we didn't really know we could have had a glass of wine while we waited. It's pretty small inside, and the seats aren't the most comfie in the world, but I didn't have problems hearing. The place had quite a few people piled up by the door, waiting for seats too. For two people we sort of ordered a bit too much. Panzanella...which I liked. Burrata came next and was okay, followed up a couple of the pizzas. I'm not a specialist when it comes to pizza, so they were just okay to me. So why 4 stars? I thought the staff was super friendly, although one person ended up being a bit too attentive in discussing his previous visits to Italy and it was a bit awkward. That, plus the panna cotta at the end...was what made me think about coming back. I want the PC again. No doubt. read more

I can say without a doubt Bar del Corso is my favorite wood oven pizza in Seattle! Quality is the word that best describes! I've been here about 4 or 5 times now, I waited for the "new opening" to subside before reviewing. As of now, there is still a bit of a line out the door at busy times (as expected for quality dining) but at least you can get a table now. If the tables are full, sitting at the bar is actually very comfortable and not awkward or teetering feeling like at some places. Bar Del Corso consistently serves up *perfectly* crisped wood oven pies and amazing tasting side dishes. I love the atmosphere and all the old exposed wood, as well as the open feel to the restaurant. The food presentation is always great and of course WOW for the fresh flavors! There is a lot of love, thought and care going into the meals here. The Puttanesca (pizza w/ anchovies, yes, really, try it!) is by far our favorite pie here and the heirloom tomatoes & burrata salad with lemon vinegar dressing screams "I LOVE August". Try the meatballs and you will not be dissapointed! Do save room for dessert and try something different! I had the orange polenta cake and was amazed at the great flavors that orange zest can provide in a dessert. Bar Del Corso could improve slightly on their bar drink selection, but hey, at least they do have the full Bar and wines served by the bottle or glass. read more

Arrived early for a Saturday dinner and had no trouble getting a table. Ordered a glass of wine for myself and a cider for my spouse. The cider was good but it was the smallest glass of cider I've ever seen served in a restaurant! Re-orders from the bar were very slow to arrive. The food was really good. Tried two different salads, the rice and mozz balls, a mushroom pizza and a strawberry rhubarb dessert. Loved the salads! The prices were fair and the service good. I've been excited to try this place and went for a celebratory birthday dinner for my sister and was quite underwhelmed. Food was fine, but the service was really poor. Nobody on the staff was very welcoming, the waitress barely gave our table any attention and any food that was brought out was basically thrown on the table by the staff as they hurriedly walked away. I've stopped in here twice at night: once for take-out and once at the bar. Take-out: You can simply order and just hangout inside near the front or outside on the sidewalk while waiting. I think I had the arugula salad and some meatball dish. They were very good and came in the green brown containers. Dine-in (bar): If it's really busy, I have a super picky seating preference (given my left eye disorder), so I tend to seek out and spot on the left-side... fortunately, there was the far end seat at the bar, nearest the kitchen---sweet! I grabbed it and perused the menu and cocktails. From here on out, I give a big shout-out to Patrick, my waiter and bartender. He was very accomodating, friendly, professional, cool and helpful in response to my questions---especially regarding the aperitifs and non-menu-listed digestifs (they have some, only they're not listed on the menu). Oddly enough, he also looks like a cross between Keanu Reeves and Jim "Weather Man" Cantores! lol. More on the digestifs later. My Aperol Spritz (delightful), Margharita Pizza and Potato Croquette dish (one of the day specials) were all good; the pizza was somewhat subpar compared to Padrino's and Pulcinella--atleast to me; there wasn't much flavor or substance. Also, if they're gonna let the customer cut their own pies, atleast provide a darn pizza cutter. Rather tedious it was using a butter knife... now, to the digestifs! Earlier in our chat, I asked him about digestifs and he mentioned they have some. I was hesitant which prompted him on offering me samples of some. I was like sure! Out comes a nice, short glass of about only 1/2 inch full of fernet branca... woooooow! That's some rather bitter/strong shit right there. This is uncharted territory for me, most definitely. Some more small chat and he brings me a sample---a LARGER close-to-brim "sample" (wtf?!)---this time of averna... ........ *waits for my mouth to recover* ........ That's some m*&^$% f*^#$($ bitter shit!! Pat joked that, at first, he thought digestifs were gross, and hated them, saying it wasn't until later on that he got to like them. Perhaps they will grow on me? Earlier on, he even brought me the Aperol bottle when I was asking about aperitifs. The whole time, and after many questions, Patrick's pleasant demeanor didn't miss a beat. This was a busy night, too. 4 stars? The one big ding is for 2 things: the pizza and charging me for the averna. When he offered me samples, I assumed the 2nd sample would be like the first---no where near full. What I like about this unique spot is that it brings a nice feeling to the Beacon Hill area. I imagine this is what Columbia City felt like after they openned up the Starbucks and all the cute shops began to appear. My friends and I came here one Friday evening, and it was already crowded at 6pm. Not a lot of space to wait for a table. There is bar seating, but only if you want to order food, not to wait and drink for a table. Plan ahead because they are busy and do not take reservations. We chose the bar seating and it was ok but got to be squishy with all the customers loitering waiting for their table. We shared the house special pizza with spinich/carmelized onions/goat cheese which was so-so. However, their small plates are FABULOUS! The beet salad was excellent as so was their pear salad (my favorite)! I loved the bits of fresh pear, goat cheese, mushrooms and wonderful sauce paring! Of course, being a coffee lover I tried their espresso which was also smooth tasting and delicious! If you like a bit of whiskey, put a splash in your coffee to give it a warm kick! Service was okay. It gets pretty busy so I can see where it goes down a bit because of that... but maybe sit at the bar where all the action is and the servers are at arm's length =D Overall, a good experience. My new pizza favorite. Family friendly, low key, with a great community feeling. If you can't enjoy grilled octopus, incredibly tasty but simple wood fired pizza and delectable melty risotto balls, then perhaps there is no hope for you. At Bar Corso you can reclaim your sense of humanity and humility with simple flavors served in a warm, spacious dining room. It worth a trip to Beacon Hill (for us, its across town.) Sometimes it just takes a trip out of your neighborhood to see how everywhere in the city there are great little pockets of community to tuck into. It just takes one spot like this to make you really appreciate what a classic neighborhood restaurant can do to create a sense of place. I can appreciate this simple, neighborhood spot with it's rustic, easygoing food and the all ages groupings of families, Seattle hipsters and grandparents that have all come out to do the exact same thing: enjoy great ambiance and classic food choices. Owned and operated by Jerry Corso, a young man whose training began very early and led him to both sides of the Atlantic (and of the United States) to master his craft, plus his wife Bar Del Corso would prove to be an easy find and although a steady downpour plagued our walk from the street parking to the door the space and service could not have been more convivial and warm when we arrived mere moments after they'd unlocked the doors and with a no reservations policy we were quickly led to a sturdy four-top where menus were provided and waters filled before the hostess returned to the stand to greet a steady stream of customers that would see the restaurant filled within the hour. With the restaurant bustling the next person to greet us after we sat was Lucas, a friendly young waiter who recited the day's specials prominently listed on a chalkboard, offered us drinks which we declined, and told us to take our time after leaving us with some recommendations. Having already scouted the menu and knowing that this visit was only 'pre-gaming' for more Italian later I personally took this time to go check out Jerry's handmade stone oven where Chef Corso was busy stoking the fire and adding wood yet more than happy to chat - a genuinely nice guy who really seemed to love what he was doing even as the area around the oven was, in my opinion, sweltering. With Lucas returning and orders placed it would not be long before our first dish would arrive and with water remaining filled by the back servers I knew right away that this "snack" was going to be more of a meal before a meal for myself when I saw the portion size of the Baccalà Mantecato - a dish twice as large as I'd expected and one I knew my fish-phobic family would likely not overindulge on. Served alongside toasty rustic bread fresh from the oven and featuring the lightest flavored salt cod whipped with creamy potato and olive oil that I have ever tasted this small casserole was a perfect starter with a nicely balanced brininess made all the more heavenly by hints of garlic and a bubbly layer of grated parmigiano-reggiano DOP - a flavor still too "fishy" for my mother and aunt, but not really an issue as I was more than happy to overindulge on something so divine. Moving next to the main event (or so I thought) our selections were a duo of pizzas, the first an upgraded version of Corso's standard Margherita and the second a slightly more unique but beautiful Ortolana. Beginning first with the crust, as any discussion of pizza should, the pies that were brought to us still bubbling from the over were nearly my ideal for a Neapolitan pie - a crisp crust with a dense crumb and large blistered pockets along the edges complimented with just enough sugar and salt to give it flavor but not so much to overwhelm the toppings; a lovely ring with a wet center but not soupy at all. Moving next to the toppings and cheese, for the Margherita it was the standard; top notch San Marzano tomatoes, fresh basil, grassy and smooth olive oil, and for us the $3 upgrade mozzarella di buffula DOP - all textbook, particularly on this crust, and although not the very best Margherita I've ever had a strong contender especially given the price of only $15 even after the added cheese. For the Ortolana, this one without a "sauce," what would arrive was actually quite impressive - an admixture of "Willie's braising greens," house cured coppa, smoked mozzarella, and chopped cherry tomatoes plus a dusting of pecorino that all worked beautifully together as the smoky cheese blended seamlessly with the briny pork while the vegetal bitterness of the nicely softened greens was toned down by the acidity of the tomatoes and sharpness of the cheese; a beautiful pie and an absolute must order. Having already our upcoming dinner at Spinasse I'd originally planned to skip dessert at Bar Del Corso but when I saw the words Quince and Polenta next to one another on the menu and heard the description of an "upside-down" Cake I immediately reassessed...besides, dinner was still 2.5 hours away and as luck would have it the item that arrived at our table would turn out to be the best thing I ate in Seattle or Vancouver and amongst the ten best desserts I ate in 2011, a warm disc not much larger than a hockey puck and consisting of no more than toothsome grains, butter, sugar, and fruit rendered into a steaming hot pudding with just a bit of crunch at its base and a touch of cinnamon; a more toothsome sticky pudding if you will and the rare sort of dish where I ate each bite with my eyes closed and a smile on my face. read more

For a little taste of Napoli, visit Jerry and his team at Bar del Corso! Thin-crusted, big-flavored pizzas are the foundation...but lots of lovely seasonal plates make for the perfect accompaniments to round out the meal. If there's something on the "specials" board -- go with it!! From stuffed zucchini flowers to seasonal sausages to bacala...bring friends so you can take full advantage of tasting everything you can on the menu. The burrata and octopus are always part of my visits...making it difficult to add something new to the rotation. As you get to the pizza course, know that you'll have everything from a mild margherita pizza to a more robust corno di capra. And don't forget dessert...because the polenta cake (in any variation) is a "must have"! As a final note: have I mentioned the price point is amazing?! This is definitely a "hidden gem" on the crest of Beacon hill!! In fact you could easily drive by it, not knowing it was even there had there not been crowds of people standing outside waiting for a table. Even then, I've missed it a few times. Lol. But street parking is ample, it has a great atmosphere with a neighborhood yet modern vibe, and of course tasty food. Everything we had was seriously delicious!! I think I've had a good majority of items on the menu and I can't think of anything I didn't enjoy, though sometimes portion sizes were on the smaller side. Cons: they don't take reservations so the wait can be very long and there isn't a lot to do in the area yet, though I get the feeling that strip will continue to develop significantly in the coming years. Service can also be hit or miss as there are so many people coming in and out, but if you're willing to be patient, a worthwhile food experience awaits! read more

Street parking was easy to find. My friend and I waited about 15 minutes to be seated. While we waited outside we watched Beacon Ave drivers slow down to figure out why there were people standing outside the restaurant, we grabbed a Seattle Weekly paper and read a couple articles, and we watched passengers hop off the #36 bus. The hostess/owner was very friendly. We were seated at the bar. Next to us were two ladies. They ordered a salad. The presentation on the plate was appealing so we asked them which one they picked. Arugula & Roasted Sunchokes. The chalkboard on the wall had the specials menu. Daily specials can be a gamble. I saw the word "speck" which was one of the pizza ingredients. I didn't know what it was. I didn't bother asking. I was feeling adventurous. So we went with the special pizza and the salad. Our bartender took our order. She was very friendly also. I grew up in this area and have been meaning to try this place out. Every time I drove by, there was a line, but I finally got my chance to try it yesterday. Ordered the octopus and the clams as appetizers. Loved the clams and the sauce it was in. Portion was decent and much larger than what I'd imagine a small plate to be. I'd skip the octopus though. It's a very small portion and it wasn't that memorable. Also got the sausage and mushroom pizza. It was pretty good, but the bottom of the crust was a little burnt. Service was good and consistent. Yum! Big fan of the thin crust pizzas and salads. Last time I went I got the cauliflower salad and pizza and split it with one other person. We finished it all and were absolutely full. The only downside to this place is that it's very noisy. read more

We came here on a whim on a Saturday night and were so glad that we did. We happened to pull up to the restaurant just as they were opening so we were seated right away at the bar by request. Come here early if you can, they don't take reservations. Service was fast and friendly. The boy had a beer on nitro and kept saying it was so delicious. We shared three plates but I wanted to order like 10 off of the menu because it all looked and sounded so good. We started with a special of the day. A crostini/bruschetta with creamy white beans in a fantastic sauce, housemade burrata, and prosciutto. He loved this and loves all things burrata. It reminded me of an Italian twist on a monte cristo. We then had the braised pork shoulder, served on more creamy white beans with a cherry tomato, arugula, and onion salad that made the pork lighter and fresher. The pork itself was fork tender and flavorful. Then we had to try one of their pizzas. We ordered the rapini off the main menu but I could have ordered any one of their pizzas because they all sounded delicious. The rapini came on their fantastic crust with sauteed broccoli raab, coppa, smoked mozzarella, garlic, and a bit of tomato. I requested a side of marinara and they brought us a piping hot bowl full of the bright red sauce that we literally sopped up with that amazing crust. Request it! BEST PIZZA IN SEATTLE hands down, this pizza closely resembles the pizza in Italy, we ordered the margherita and the onion and sausage one and both were amazing with the wood fired taste that everyone always looks for. I would suggest less salt on the sausage one but the rest is amazing. The dough is perfect, not too thick and not greasy which is ideal. Highly recommend this place. I would have to tell the owners to keep their excellent standards to have more clients. Definitely going to spread the word about this place. read more

Bar del Corso. This place is very easy to miss. Thanks Google Maps for getting me there! The restaurant has a very airy atmosphere. First thing I found odd was that although they don't take reservations; all seating at the restaurant is reserved, including the bar. And the waiting area is really small; although you can get a drink while you wait to get a table. From here on, good experience. The restaurant was packed and it was a little loud in there. You might also get the feeling of being a little rushed by the hostess; I attribute that to the number of people waiting to get a table. I visited on a Saturday evening, so.... We got some prosciutto to start off and then a couple of pizzas. This was good for 3 people. The pies are light, and the crusts are slightly salty and have a bit of slight char which adds to the wood-fired theme. Nice combination of flavors, homemade dough and the wood-fired oven make these pizzas hard to beat. Try the Corno di Capra! I thought they hit a home run with that one. The folks at Bar del Corso do decently well at showcasing seasonal produce and focusing on Neapolitan-style pizzas. 4 stars from me. Next time I crave pizza, this is where I'm headed. read more

It is great that we have a pizza place on BH! We've been here a few times now and tried a number of their pizzas, and they are all tasty with a perfectly thin but not soggy crust. Personally, I prefer the crust here over Tutta Bella and Via Tribunali, though I prefer some of the topping combinations at Tutta Bella. The arancini are crispy, cheesy and delicious, as are the seasonal stuffed squash blossoms. However, the octopus appetizer was overcooked and the octopus lacked the chewiness that would have made the dish. The sauce was very tasty though. The service is just ok. A few servers are friendly, but on multiple visits a few were a bit cold or just uninterested. I suppose it's not bad enough to outweigh the tasty pizzas, but it is an area that could be improved. read more

We came in today (nov 2022) without reservations, looking for a table or bar seating. Hostess said there's bar seating but a couple seated by the door were next. We said we'd wait but they said we'd have to wait outside. Despite the couple waiting inside and there was plenty of room to stand. When we went outside, more people were inside at the hostess stand but they weren't pointed outside. Sort of weird that in this day and age, you encounter this, but it happened. Yeah, we didn't look like the hostess, the seated couple waiting for the bar, or others coming in after us. Tribalism, racism, a bad day, whatever you want to call it. I've been here, decent food. Not good enough to put up with this though. Just one person's experience. You may have a different experience based on my cited reasons above. read more

Cramped and overpriced are my takeaways of Bar del Corso. It's cute and has some decent pizza, a mediocre wine and cocktail list, as well as some less-than-attentive servers. As a group of ~8 people, we were mostly ignored and had to beckon servers to take our drink order, food order, and ask where missing items were. They won't seat your party until they have all arrived - in our case 7/8 of us were about 10 minutes early and our table was set but we had to stand around waiting around the bar area until our 8th arrived (right on time, by the way). A bit odd in how it's run and a tad overpriced for what it is. Not bad, not great. read more

Because I was raised in Italy and am tentative about trying out Italian in the States, it took me a while to try this restaurant out, although I had heard really good things about it. We had some really good small plates including a dish with ragu, which was so delicious as were the cod fritters. The drinks were also yummy. And the atmosphere with the wood interior is really cozy and warm. I didn't think the pizza was that great (not bad, but so so) -Delancey is much better, according to me and my family. And although I am concerned about saying things about staff these days, since covid, the waiting staff was not very warm. read more

We found this restaurant from Yelp searching few weeks ago when we were tired of cooking but didn't want to drive too far to dine out. We were glad we chose this place. Not just only it's in my neighborhood but also the food is incredibly delicious. Now it is my favorite restaurant . The downside is this place is not big and usually crowded so you need to go there earlier if you don't want to wait in a long line for 30 minutes. There are some item are our must order, such as pizza, suppli Telefono, polpettine and tonno del Chianti. Their seasonal menu is also worth to try. We definitely will be back many times. read more

Sometimes I feel hesitant to write a review because the secret will get out. That said... Bar Del Corso may have the best takeout in all of Seattle during the COVID 19 lockdown. The food is delicious and perfect for takeout and rewarming at home. When we needed another side they threw it in for free. Support your local business.
