Hands down my favorite place to go in Plainfield. The drinks, specifically the old fashioneds, manhattans and espresso martinis are delicious. We love sharing the charcuterie board for an app, and the short rib bolognaise or the Pesto Shrimp Risotto are my go-to meals. Of course, there are other amazing dishes but those two are my favorite. I always have top notch service whether we sit at a table or at the bar. The restaurant is beautiful and I love the dark decor, with gold accents, and basket lights. We had Sunday brunch here and the food was great! Our waitress was really nice and provided excellent service. The other staff was attentive in clearing dishes too. I ordered the veggie omelette with egg whites, very fresh ingredients and the goat cheese was delicious! My husband had the short rib hash and we split the brioche french toast, really good. Stopped here because I was craving a glass of wine. Had a rather expensive glass of Italian wine but even the California wines they offer are a few dollars more than most restaurants but I was pleased with the taste of the Italian glass of wine. I was also pleased that they offer a choice of a full salad or half salad. The salads are very unique and very delicious and at least the half salad filled me up and was delicious! The service was excellent but I could only give this restaurant 4 stars because the cost of my half salad plus one glass of wine came to $21.00 read more

Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants of all time - and trust me, I eat out A LOT:) Great food and drinks every visit, awesome service and fantastic atmosphere!! My favorites are the key lime martini - yum and shrimp risotto. But the filet is perfect and every fish special I have ever had has been delicious! This location is huge and beautiful - great for having a big group but I usually go to Lemont cause it's closer to my home. read more

Every now and then you happen upon a special experience. This morning my wife Laurie and I had an early meal at Barrel and Vine, and it was one of those occasions. Barrel and Vine has a hip trendy appeal from the moment you enter the place. The staff greets you promptly and has you seated in no time at all. This is likely to change if it were a busier time. My first and only objection was that the music was a bit loud and abrasive for a Sunday morning. I asked the staff if it would be possible for them to lower the volume and they obliged promptly and courteously. They offer a well prepared menu with a good drink selection. The food was excellent, I had the ribeye sandwich and my wife had the chicken sandwich. both came with fries covered in chimichurri aloe. What was most impressive was that the restaurant manager Cordell was very attentive to the patrons and is exceedingly gracious. It was abundantly clear to me that Cordell enjoys his work and is very good at what he does. One gets the impression that Cordell is a young man with a great deal of potential and a bright future. Our server Louis was very good and deserves recognition. We will be back. I highly recommend Barrel and Vine. read more

This is the nicest bar in downtown Plainfield. The food is really good. The drinks are amazing. I love the bar area. In my opinion, it's better than the rest of the restaurant. Not that there is anything wrong with the rest of the place. The bar is very cozy and feels like you're in downtown Chicago. The upstairs is more like a regular restaurant dining room. Appetizers were amazing. Staff was great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. read more

Wonderful experience all around. We had Jamell as our server. She was very attentive, polite, and personable. The food was amazing -- starting with calamari. The breading/batter was very light and tasty. We both had the pan-seared duck breast which was cooked perfectly. The brussel sprouts were delicious. Everything about this place was great. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile and taken to upstairs room. We were then greeted by our waitress Sam. She was very attentive and checked in on us frequently . She recommended a lot of the meals we tried and they were all amazing, including the drinks (the Moscow mules, lavender kiss, and mojitos). My husband had the churrasco and i had the nights special of salmon that was delicious. Then we had the cookie skillet which was so good and great way to end the night. Then even when we were leaving the employees behind the bar somehow knew it was my birthday and wished me, which was so sweet and personable. I don't know how they do it but every single time I come here I get the best service ever. The wait staff is so friendly here and it happens every single time! I went to lunch with my dad today and our server a dark haired young girl was such a sweetheart, she was kind, helped anyway she could and just went above and beyond. I should have gotten her name. I also was so impressed with the food but this is no surprise I have been here before. It was my dad's first time and he LOVED it. The ambiance is very nice and the managers and owners that hire the staff keep it up because you're bringing in such warm people that really make you stand out. My husband booked us a reservation as a surprise for Valentines and boy, was it an INCREDIBLE surprise! Our new favorite place we have been together. Their calamari app was amazing, and their filet is one of the best I've ever had. The staff were all so beyond kind and friendly as well. The space is beautiful!!! Went there on Valentine's Day. It was a perfect date night spot! The place was packed and very well staffed. We met the owner and a few different managers checked on us. Our server was exceptional! Her name is Tiffany and is a delight! Highly recommend the Spanish octopus appetizer - it was delicious! It comes with potatoes so that was a nice surprise. We each ordered steaks - they were cooked to perfection. The server asked us to cut into them prior to eating to make sure they were cooked to our liking - nice touch! And we topped it off with the flourless chocolate cake - worth the calories - delicious!!!! We will definitely be back and will request Tiffany's table. read more

As Plainfield residents, we were embarrassed to learn that B&V had been in this location for a year and we were there for the first time. What a great find! We loved the diverse menu, ambiance, food and service. Our server, Angela, was wonderful. Steak, seafood, pork chop entrees were all very good. Equally good were the calamari and bruschetta apps. Same for the cookie/salted caramel ice cream dessert shared by four people. We are already making plans to return in December with a party of 10! read more
