I have been a regular customer at this bakery for a long time, despite their slightly expensive prices. Today, I politely asked them to warm up my regular bread and cinnamon roll a bit more, which they usually do for me. The employee refused and claimed the manager said they cannot do it. When I calmly asked to speak with the manager, the employee suddenly became extremely rude, told me I was not welcome, and forced me to leave. I felt targeted and discriminated against during this interaction. To make matters worse, I saw a cockroach inside the establishment. A business that treats loyal customers with such disrespect and maintains poor hygiene should not be operating. I highly advise people to stay away. Customers: BLOND LONG HAIR MALE and a SHORT GIRL WITH GLASSES these were the only two people that were extremely racist and barbaric and the other employees are extremely nice. I went on Wednesday JULY, 22, 2026.

Bastion Bakery is small outpost in the Grand Centea Market. It is founded by Sara and Julian Partovi and created in partnership with Carlos Enriquez of Bakers Kneaded. They serve baked goods along the likes of trending spiral croissants, breads, danishes, gluten-free donuts, and hot/cold coffee. I was perfunctorily greeted by a female staff. I had a Cold Brew w/ 1/2. And it was just simply decent albeit a bit too milky in appearance. I made adjusted to its sweetness (Splenda) on my own. Prices seem fair. Staff was competent and nice. Shop was neat and clean. Overall, I liked the cold brew.

Was craving something sweet after having lunch and walked by this spot at the market. Their chocolate chip walnut cookie caught my eye and I immediately needed to try it. The cookie had the perfect texture--nice and crispy exterior and soft and gooey in the middle. Not overly sweet and a good amount of walnut pieces inside topped with a sprinkle of sea salt. I'd rate it a solid 8/10. I would definitely come back and try some of their other baked goods.

A good croissant is supposed to be flaky on the outside and fluffy inside with some layering. Most of all, the croissant should taste buttery. I was very disappointed by the pistachio croissant I bought from Bastion. The croissant either used the wrong flour or wasn't given enough time for the dough to rise. In any case, I feel like the pistachio croissant from Bastion tasted more like a flat, dry American white bread disguised as a croissant than an authentic croissant. It looks like the croissant is a plain croissant made to taste more like bread, then cut in half and spread with a thin layer of pistachio spread (see the photo).

I was strolling in the grand central market and saw this place. I ordered a bagel and pistachio croissant to try. The bagel is very good. The croissant was just ok.

Um the best pastries in DTLA???!!! My supervisor got me pastries from bastion to celebrate passing my probation and omg... their guava croissant!!!! TO DIE FOR. I LOOOOOVE pan dulce and any sweet bread. This was so so good. Their cookies were also delicious. This is my favorite bakery in DTLA now!

The Baseline: For a bakery the bread has to be crusty, dough-rific goodness, great accompaniments per the bakery's theme, and good coffee/drinks. Food: For a small shop and stand, Bastion stands out with the array of fun, unique pastries available. I got a guava croissant with an iced drip coffee. The croissant was buttery and flakey with the good hint of guava. Presentation was gorgeous! The iced coffee was a good iced coffee. Service: Considering this is a volume service type of establishment, the staff were still friendly (as the time permitted). Very helpful and nice. Ambiance: Grand Central Market is bustling and full of energy. You will be craving your food as you stress to find your table. It isn't a relaxing brunch experience but once you sit down and claim your space you can ease into your outing fun. Bastion is a part of that fun downtown Los Angeles vibe.

We got the Guava Croissant, Cardamom Brown Sugar latte and Spanish latte. The croissant was perfect and flaky with a generous guava filling. My husband and I really enjoyed both the lattes - I just didn't like the presentation of the drinks. Their plastic cups are basic but prices are not.

BK doughnuts are essentially thick dense croissant made into a round doughnut. The pistachios were plentiful and pistachio cream filling was decadent. Delicious. They did warm it up but it lacked hhc fresh out of the oven warmth. Located next to egg slut and there was no line

Kouign Aman - don't judge me I took a bite.

I cannot wait to come back and try their other pastries. At this visit I only bought a Kouign Aman. I can't stop thinking about it. It was fresh and soft. The cashier was nice and pleasant. This location is in Grand Central Market, so it will be loud! I wish I took more pictures but was so overwhelmed by everything going on. Most of the pastries were gone by 1pm. I think I ended up taking the last Kouign Aman. The layers of sweet was devine.

Pre-ordered my Thanksgiving pie online and pick up went absolutely perfectly! I know they make exceptional coffee because the line is often dozen people long waiting for them. Located directly next to an Agua Fresca stand and next egg slut, Sebastian is a wonderful find directly off the Broadway entrance to GCM. The seating at the market is always shared. The pastries were rich, flaky, everything you would want from a proper French pastry. Many of the case items are gorgeously prepared. The place looks small, but they have a very well managed inventory of a very diverse and tasty selection of daily treats.

At Grand Central Market early to take care of things in the DTLA area. Got some breakfast food, but we needed our morning brew and right next to Eggslut is Bastion Bakery. We were able to get our coffee and Latte, but while in line, I got tempted with the delicious looking pastries. I got some to go to enjoy at home. I went with the Kouigan Amann, Pan Au Chocolat, and a soufflé style cheese danish. The solo staff handled the line and the orders perfectly. Everyone was patiently waiting their turn. She was very pleasant to deal with.

Bastion by Bakers Kneaded is located in the heart of Los Angeles--more specifically inside Grand Central Market. They offer sweets of all kinds including pastries and other desserts; it's such a lovely little bakery. If you're looking for your coffee and latte fix they have it! As I looked through the glass, I noticed it was squeaky clean and everything looked fresh. They even had a vegan cookie so that is what I ordered, it was double chocolate. Although, I am not a huge chocolate fan, I found it so be delicious. Service was great! Tips: If you want a natural fruit juice from The Juice, they are located next door

Seating is limited, though they do offer a few outdoor tables and a bench inside while you wait for your drinks. The service was great. The employees were friendly, welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. As for the coffee, it unfortunately wasn't my favorite. I tried the Cloud Latte and found it a bit too thick, lacking the smoothness and flavor I was hoping for. I also tried the Cinnamon Cloud, which was smoother but still tasted fairly bitter to me. Coffee preferences are subjective, of course, but the flavor profile just didn't quite hit the mark for me. That said, I enjoyed everything else about the experience and would be willing to come back and try a few different drinks from the menu. The service and ambiance were definitely highlights of the visit.

No bitterness, no chalky aftertaste that cheaper ceremonial-grade pretenders leave behind. Just clean, grassy depth with a texture that's silky rather than gritty. This is someone who actually sources well and knows how to whisk Didn't stop there. The seasonal peach jasmine tea was the surprise standout ..floral jasmine up front, real peach sweetness (not syrup-bomb fake fruit) on the back end. Balanced in a way that seasonal drinks rarely pull off; most places either overdo the fruit or underdo the tea. This one's dialed in. Iced Spanish latte rounded things out and didn't miss either; espresso with enough backbone to cut through the condensed milk instead of getting buried by it. A lot of places let the sweetness take over; ROK kept the coffee actually tasting like coffee. 4 drinks, zero misses. That's not luck; that's a program that's actually dialed in behind the counter. This isn't a place riding on aesthetics and a good logo the drinks back it up. The matcha is legit, good quality stuff Come open up in OC you batches

I stumbled across their Yelp page when I was visiting from out of town and checked the Instagram for their hours on a Saturday afternoon and was happy to see they were open! I am a sucker for pop-up coffee shop/cart concepts so I had to check it out. The pop-up is easy to find, it's outside facing into the parking lot, and they had a cute A-frame sign out by the street side. There was no line, and I ordered and sat down at one of the tables out front. The service was so warm, and I believe the shop is owned and operated by one man on his own! He was an absolute delight to meet, and he brought my matcha latte to me at the table when it was prepared. He suggested I get the cream top on it, and boy was that the perfect recommendation. I would say I'm a little bit of a matcha fiend... I think I got a matcha latte at 3 different places this day... and this one far surpassed the others. I think it was one of the best matcha lattes I have ever drank to-date. It was perfectly green, the matcha quality was phenomenal, both taste and look-wise. The texture was just right, perfectly creamy with barely any grittiness. The cream top only added to the drink, and didn't take away from the matcha flavor at all, which I feel like has happened at other places for me. I'm dreaming of this matcha latte days later, and need to go back to Kokoro No Coffee as soon as I am in town again. This was a spectacular find, and I hope this spot gets all the love it deserves! The staff were very kind and patient and swiftly prepared the Vienna Latte and Hojicha Latte we ordered. The Vienna Latte is so visually stunning, the layers of white milk, brown espresso, thick white cream, brown cocoa powder and Biscoff layered on top of each other against the dark green logo was so aesthetic. Having a sip before mixing the Vienna latter was incredible, the sweet cream followed with the nutty strong espresso flavour then getting a refreshing splash of milk made a great combo with the Biscoff. I actually liked the drink less after its all mixed because it was too creamy for my taste. (I normally like my coffee black) My hojicha latte was great, but it was also too milky for me. So I went up and asked if it would taste good dirty, with an espresso shot in it, and the barista said yes. I ordered an espresso shot and instead of charging me full price, they only charged me the add on espresso shot for the drink! ($1.50 instead of $4) It was very kind of them since it was absolutely my mistake for not ordering the right drink in the first place. The shot added much depth and flavour to the hojicha latte I was craving. Thanks for the wonderful service. I'm definitely coming back to try their other specialty drinks.
