Went here yesterday to grab a quick bite for lunch and I was totally satisfied. Nothing fancy, but quite tasty and fresh. I got the Cesar chicken wrap and the bf got the bacon ranch chicken wrap. All the ingredients tasted freshly cooked and prepared. Service was ultra fast and friendly. The home brewed creme soda is *Always* welcome. And inexpensive! Being that I only lived in Alaska for one year, as it turned out...at least thus far in life...I must say that I really appreciated finding Bear Tooth, sister to Moose's Tooth. Their burritos are yummy, which, given that I hail from California and it is important fare, they helped me get over my homesick cravings a bit. The best part is the movie theater...you can eat and drink beverages whilst watching a good show. OR, you can come for First Tap and rock out to the likes of a variety of musical artists. We saw several shows while up there, but my favorite was the Indigo Girls. :-) Big Thumbs Up! There is also a dining room area, so you can just have a "regular" meal. But, for $3 more, or so, you can also watch a movie while you eat. Not a bad deal at all! Especially if you have tired children needing some food and, fingers crossed, a nap in a dark, warm spot! This place is pretty awesome and inexpensive. The theater itself is not very fancy or anything but the idea that you can have dinner and a movie at the same time is great. The terrible thing is that this place is often crowded and sometimes it's hard to find seating with your group. I think there needs to be some kind of order to this process because it's chaotic. I dread coming here in the winter because sometimes you have to wait like an hr out in the bitter cold just to make it through the line. In the summer it's not bad at all and I find that coming here on a weekend is way better and less hectic. I think it'd be great if people could just order as they are seated. Despite the hecticness this place is great for families, dates, friends; etc......and there's beer. I think it was 10 bucks total for the two of us to get a movie ticket and the food is separate. read more

Still like this place a lot. I travel to Alaska quite a bit for my Computer nerdy job. This place is ri-cock-u-lous busy EVERY TIME I come. There is no "down" night... Tuesday-Friday any of the nights I have been in town... There be a line out the door waiting. I had to even wait (once) 1.5 hours for a table of 2. Be prepared... Usually, the food and service here is great. The wait wasn't even that bad. I'm not sure if it was the excitement of the 48 Hour Anchorage Film Festival, but the food was lack-luster and the service was something to be desired. I ordered nachos, without olives and jalapeño poppers. There was a small hill of olives and the poppers were cold. Coming up to Anchorage from California I was looking for an 'Alaskan' experience for one dinner out. I loved the place as soon as I walked in. Luckily, there was no line but the place was full. The hostess was so nice and conversational. Our server was obviously very busy but checked in with us quickly. . and returned regularly. We ordered drinks, I had the virgin Strawberry margarita, very tasty and not too sweet. We had the special, appetizer crab cakes with two sauces. The serving size was just right since we were very hungry, tasty and not too filling. The main menu offered options of pasta, seafood, mexican, & several types of MEAT. I had the MACADAMIA CRUSTED HALIBUT kiwi-mango salsa, lemon beurre blanc, coconut rice, vegetable Entree. It was spectacular. . It melted in my mouth, and even my friend who eats halibut regularly, tried it and was raving as well. Cooked perfectly, including the subtlety of the coconut rice, veggies el dente. .it was the absolute perfect choice. Stopped by here for my last meal in Alaska. Some say this place is Moose's Tooth's little brother since it's just as good without the business. I got the fish & chips here which were good but not the best. I still think I'd rather go to Moose's Tooth for food and the vibe but Bear Tooth was decent. I'd love to go to a show here someday. we've been customers for over 20 yrs. the quality has gone down. ordered nachos and salad as we needed a quick meal. waited over 30 min. the tables were less than half full. other tables were seated and served before us. i wondered why because nothing we ordered required any real cooking. we almost left when the food arrived. i thought they had stopped offering pepper until i saw other tables being offered pepper. they didnt come around to us for that. the salad was served missing ingredients that were listed on the menu. server didnt stop at our table and made herself scarce. saw other tables getting refills and check-ins. my plan is to forget about this place as they forgot about us. customer service is the pits and they no longer care about quality apparently. read more

Cool place with option of seeing a movie or dining in their restaurant portion. My husband and I were very happy with our burgers and beer. It was more of a diner-y restaurant-y feel than we expected. I expected more pub style but it was more family friendly type place. Still great experience with food, drinks, and waiters. Earlier tonight, I was reminiscing with some fellow ex-alaskans about what we missed about Anchorage, and the first thing out of everyone's mouth was the Bear Tooth. It's just such a good experience on so many different levels. -You can see movies for three dollars. -The food is really good. -It's vegetarian-friendly (the turnagain tofu burrito is my favorite) -If you want something cheap and fast, they've got it on the theatre side. -If you want something a bit fancier, they've got it on the grill side. -I don't drink, but apparently the beer is great. (they brew their own) -They play late-run movies as well as a lot of really interesting indie stuff. Do I need to go on? I could, but I'm pretty sure I've proved my point :) read more

Yum, yum, yum. Now that I don't live in Anchorage anymore, I really miss Bear Tooth. It's so delicious. My only complaint is that there's a usually a wait, but that's just because it's so good! You can either watch a movie, have a drink, and get served dinner or eat in the full-service restaurant. I love their Bear Scratch Margarita and their garlic fries. Not a bad place for food, and beer. Especially the beer part. I had the halibut burger, and the today's special, lamb taquito's. I must say the halibut was extremely fresh and very moist. I actually didn't eat the bun, just the fish. However, the fish was only about the size of an infants hand, the bun the size of an adults... Went here a few days ago with some friends and got the Portobello and Goat Cheese Sandwich. It was delicious, and all the flavors complimented each other very well. The garlic fries were pretty tasty too! I had a bite of my friend's Grill Blackened Ahi and that was good also. Pretty peppery, but I like some heat in my food. We ordered the apple ale, which was also very good. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because I only went once. After I've been a few times and tried some more dishes I'll review again! I was told repeatedly, "before you leave Alaska, you need to go to Beartooth" So alas...mere hours before my flight, my hosts and I made our way to a jampacked Beartooth. Soooo glad to have experienced this place. Extensive menu...it was hard to decide on just one item. Luckily as a group, we could substitute any meats listed for tofu, and share each items. so awesome! My boyfriend and I are visiting from Seattle and heard about this place.. only 4 minutes from the Inlet Towers Hotel. We came on for a 7:45 showing on a Wednesday probably about 25 minutes early. We got tickets, which were pretty cheap... $3.50 per person for a movie that was just in theaters! The place was already half filled so I'm glad we got there a little early. We quickly got in line and ordered a pizza, which they later come bring to you in the theaters (they give you a cone with a number to find you), as well as, got a beer before the show (the line can get pretty big prior to showing). We got a pitcher for $21 (raspberry wheat beer) vs. non-fruit beer is $18 for a pitcher. Pizza was delicious and so was the beer. Oh! besides pizza you can get tacos, burritos, salads, nachos, guac, etc. The theater has tables, which is pretty cool, it also has booths you can separately reserve for an added cost. For dinner and a movie, I would say the cost is pretty reasonable. I would definitely come back. read more

I've been to both the theater side and restaurant side and I am very satisfied with both. I came here for a movie when they were playing the Secret Life of Pets. The prices are crazy cheap and we had a good experience overall. Just ordered popcorn and a slice of pizza and it was all really good. I just wish they played more animated movies more frequently so I can take my little one more often. We just ate at the restaurant this past Friday and it was really good, but the prices are much higher on this side and seem higher than most other restaurants. $16 for one burrito; it is a giant burrito for which I couldn't finish but still really pricey. The garlic cilantro fries are delish! They taste so homemade; I hate going to restaurants with frozen fries I can buy at the store. I want to come back to keep trying different things because I had a hard time deciding what to order my first time. read more

Still haven't been able to catch a movie here yet, but the food is pretty decent. Service is awesome though, so I'm a little torn. I tried the fish and chips and the cod was very well cooked, but under flavored. Garlic fries were super garlicky and ironically waaaaaay too salty. I could have used some of that salt on the fish! The coworkers had the fish tacos and the pulled pork sandwich that looked really tasty. The presentation is nice and the restaurant is well kept and bright. Overall, food flavor needs a little work (or maybe I ordered the wrong thing), but service is on par. read more

I went here on the recommendation of a couple locals. To try the pizza. I tried the aloha special 10 inch and a draft root beer. I was a little bummed out that it wasn't anything to write home about. Maybe it was because I was expecting a thicker crust. I did see a movie in 3-D at the same time. That may have also affected how I felt about the food. Three of us were blessed with good fortune at 6:30 pm. Immediately found good parking on the street, we were immediately seated at a table, and had our pitcher of beer, large pizza, and breadsticks ordered within 15 minutes. The dining area was full, but not real noisy. We had a good time and enjoyed a very good meal. I was told that Bear Tooth does not get quite as busy as the Moose's Tooth; but, it looked pretty darned busy to me. Both of these pizza restaurants have great tasting pizzas. read more

We ordered two pizzas for pickup on a Thursday at 5:30 pm. They were pretty busy and we were told 45 minutes to an hour. We arrived 50 minutes later. As we were paying we were told they had to re-fire one of the pizzas and it would be about 10 more minutes. I asked about the other pizza and they said it was under the heat. I was concerned about the other pizza's freshness but it was only supposed to be 10 minutes. 25 minutes later we received one very fresh hot pizza and one not so much. Usually the Beartooth has excellent customer service, it has just been questionable recently. This is our second bad experience in less than a month. My lesson, request both orders be re-fired if a re-fire is necessary. They did give a free chocolate pudding. read more
