3.5 stars This place was extremely busy around 8pm on a Thursday night and it was about an hour wait. My girlfriend ordered the beer battered halibut tacos and I ordered the Chipotle Baby Back Ribs. The chipotle baby back ribs were heavily sauced and didn't seem to stand out much from all the other BBQ I've eaten. The fried mac & cheese was lovely, nice and crispy. The kale salad side was a surprise and surprisingly tasting. The beer battered halibut tacos was quite sizeable and came with a vegetable side. They must have somehow marinated the broccoli cause it was delicious. The halibut tasted pretty fresh. read more

Bear Tooth Theater Pub and Grill is definitely one of the highlights of Anchorage. There are two sides to the restaurant -- the theater side and the "restaurant side." The theater side has a small cafe where you can order food (I believe its similar to the food offered in the restaurant but the food is cheaper). I've ordered pizza from here to go (the menu is nearly identical to the pizza offered at the sister restaurant Moose's Tooth), but it didn't taste as good as the pizza at Moose's Tooth. The movie theater is very comfortable -- food and drink are available for purchase. Having the option to purchase adult beverages at a theater? Very cool..... The food on the restaurant side is great -- I think the main courses are a little on the pricey side ($15 to $30) -- for this reason I typically opt for wine and apps. My favorites include the habanero chicken skewers -- awesome! All in all, a solid option for dining in Anchorage. Recommended. read more

I've always came here for the movies but never sat and ordered food on the other side. It wasn't busy a little after noon and we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and didn't rush us since we needed time to look over the menu. Decided to order one of their specials: the Asian arugula salad. Everything tasted fresh & delicious--couldn't get enough of the candied lime cashews and cilantro lime dressing. Washed it down with Matt's Michelada (because, balance) lol. Here on business and I love dinner theaters (hardly any in Seattle.) I ordered the blacked salmon burrito and pesto treats with a peanut brittle topped large PB cup! Washed it down with a 20oz beer. Delicious! Their service is great and their ordering and delivery of your food in the theater was fast and state of the art. I really enjoyed the balcony. Be sure to get there early! They should lose a star due to the 50 minute wait time for our food, BUT I can't dock it, as it is 5 stars to me! You're not quite a local if you haven't been here to check it out yet. They play older movies and the tickets are way less expensive than a theater that plays new movies. We came for Elf that they played for Christmas, and it was my first time seeing it. I love that you can order amazing food and they'll bring it to your table in the theater. They also have a bar with an amazing, albeit small, variety of alcoholic beverages. You can either sit in the back and reserve a booth or you can sit on the floor in the chairs with a table in front of you. They also have concerts here every first Thursday of the month for first tap to share a new brew, and that's a lot of fun. I've seen a rap group, and I've seen a rock group play. I wasn't familiar with either of them so I can't remember the names, but I definitely remember the awesome time I had with my girlfriends. The chairs and tables are removed from the theater to give it an open concert venue feel. They also have a balcony level that you can watch movies from above, or if it's a concert, you can rock out from above. There isn't much else to say except you just need to come check it out during first tap. It's a good time. I will always be a patron here as long as I live in Alaska! read more

We really like the laid back atmosphere of this place and the quality of their beer. My Blackened fish tacos had the oddest "smokey" flavor, and while I appreciate they are using Alaska Cod a sustainable fishery, I don't think I'll order it again. Completely understand the strong and the oldness of the place but just because it's old does not mean it has to be dingy... I was a bit confused with the food situation and how to order, no one really welcomed new comers and explained the process which would be nice, or the friendliness of the staff could have been a little better. Not very crowded for the poor service and bland pizza we were served last night. The server was not friendly at all. We asked for napkins and got 3 napkins at our table where we had 5 people. She brought out a mini baby cup w a lid for my 10 year old son which made no sense, not sure why you'd bring a "sippy cup" for a kid who looks about 12 years old. We asked for pepperoni to be added to the pizza and there seemed to be like 5 slices of pepperoni on a LARGE pizza..... there was almost no cheese on both pizzas. Are you guys cutting back on toppings?! Also, the price on the menu didn't match the prices on our bill. Nice job. This restaurant is definitively HIT & MISS. Skip this place and try a different one. Had a great lunch here on the Theater side! The Thai Chicken Wrap was very satisfying. Fresh ingredients, Peanut Sauce had slight kick, and you get extra on the side which is great if you require that. It was delivered promptly, server was courteous and refilled beverages, as well as checked back the right amount of times. Overall a great first time experience for lunch here. New to Alaska, so I very much appreciate the welcoming hospitality shown to me here in Anchorage- my new home! Very cool setup to this joint. Discounted movies, a plethora of tasty pizza combinations and a cozy theater make for an enjoyable night out, especially when washed down with a couple of locally brewed pitchers available at the bar in the theater. The restaurant side is also a cool setup with pretty good eats and tasty libations. Unfortunately, the service has been pretty lousy every time outside of the theater side of the operation, but it's not unexpected given the general low-key vibe of the establishment. This is my type of place; friendly service, nice clean interior, good beer on tap, and quality food. When we stopped by for lunch on a Saturday the place was busy, but not so busy that we had to wait more than about 5 minutes for a table, which is entirely reasonable. Our water came out extremely quickly, but our waitress must have been a bit slammed because we did have to wait a few minutes for her to come take our order. The food itself didn't take too long, and was quite good. The seafood chowder was delicious; lots of big chunks of both fish and vegetables, this was not something from a bag or can. The Bahn Mi Burger was pretty outstanding actually; despite being cooked to medium (I forgot to specify medium-rare) it was still juicy, and the sriracha aeoli was just the right amount of spicy to come through without torching your tastebuds. My only gripe with the burger was that the picked onions were awesome and I wanted about three times as much as I had, but I love me some pickled onion... Great place, I highly recommend! read more

This place holds a place dear to my heart while I was living in Alaska for over 17+ years. Cheap movies, Moose's Tooth Pizza, local beers on draft, intimate setting for all people to enjoy... It really is one of the best local spots in Anchorage. I was happy to spend the Christmas holiday with my family even during the 2021 winter pandemic. It was the first time I went to this place during this whole Covid thing. Regardless of that, the same food, character, and movies that show here captured my heart over and over again. My family and I watched the 20th anniversary of the Studio Ghibli classic, "Spirited Away." I am happy to say that everyone enjoyed the movie, even my young nieces had fun. You can reserve balcony seating if you like prior to coming in, but you cannot drink in the balcony area (only on the floor main seating) You order your food at the concession stands first, they give your number placard, and off you go. Pizzas do of course take time to cook, but they are always a hit. Chicken bacon ranch pizza with a side of moose ranch salad?? Count me in always. I could not take pictures of my food since it was dark in the theater of course lol but I assure you all the pizza menu items are winners. I also like Santa's Little helper pizza, which has a spicy kick with chicken. If you ask any Anchorage local about Bear Tooth Theater pub, they know about it. If ever you visit Anchorage my hometown, try to stop by here for a bite of pizza at least. You won't regret it. read more

This is a cool place to catch both a movie and a meal at the same time. The pizza is absolutely amazing. Best I have had in a while. This place gets incredibly crowded and it is recommended that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the movie. This also gives you a chance to order your food in advance so that it is at your seat by the start of the show. If you don't arrive early you also may be forced to sit in the upper levels (for under 21 individuals). read more

This is a very interesting place, with a "threatre pub" out back, where you can order food and watch a blockbuster on the big screen, and a sit down restaurant in the front. We only had time to visit the restaurant. It still had a little wait at 9:30pm -- I can see that the locals love this place. We came here with some local friends. They love the beer, but unfortunately I couldn't drink any. I'll just take their word for it. As for the food, it seems to be standard California or Southwest fare. I ordered the blackened fish tacos (with Alaskan halibut), under the waiter's recommendation. The fish was over spiced, and even after scraping off some of the spices, it was too salty for me to finish all of it. What a shame, because the fish was really good in terms of how well it was cooked, and the condiments were delicious. The waiter shuffled our order, and the kitchen really delayed it, with unknown reasons, as the tables seated after us were served their food way before we got ours. The waiter acknowledged it and actively tried to remedy it by offering a discount on the bill. That was nice on their part. All-in-all, it was a mixed experience. While they did acknowledge their mistakes, they should've been better about it to begin with. And while some of the food was good, it wasn't consistent. Maybe I just hit it on a bad day. read more

I love coming here. They're owned by the same people who own Mooses Tooth Pizzeria. What I love about this place is you can order food and they'll bring it to you in the theater so you can can eat it while watching your movie. This also happens to be the movie theater we get independent films. It reminds me of the IFC Movie Theater in NYC. We need more movie theaters like Bear Tooth. read more

Best place for getting a pizza, diablo sticks, salad, soup, umm everything and anything they have on the menu. They have a theater in the restaurant which is so cool! Of course you don't have to go eat and watch a movie. As a tourist who has experienced this concept in other theaters, I'm giving this a lower star rating due to the lack of technology they utilize. Unlike other theaters that have locators and/or tablets(to order from and help the employees locate you during the show), this location utilizes a mini orange cone with a number on it. This results in distracting frequent walkers up-and-down the aisles, and delayed food arrival. Entertainment for locals, could probably be skipped as a tourist (unless purposely going to see an older show). read more

Then wait in line for your movie to start. While waiting in line one member of your party can place a food order. They hand you a mini orange traffic with your number on it. Upon entering the theater grab a seat and they will deliver your food to your table. Traveling alone and don't have someone to hold your spot in line? Then grab a seat first, then place your order. This place is so cool. I've never been to a sit down and eat theater before. I don't think they have many in the lower 48 (at least not in the areas I've lived in) I've always ate up in the balcony. I have a baby so it's nice because I feel we disturb less when we are up there. I love the salmon tacos with the sweet sauce. I crave them and I try to get my family to go there so I can get them. Next time I go I'm going to try to sit in the main area with the booth though. (Pretty cool they have booths too for groups) read more

We're both gluten intolerant and BTTP had us covered with the GF menu. Margaritas are amazing! Service was just right; friendly, sincere and on pace.
