Worst buffet I've been to! Originally I was going to take my husband to Gen Korean BBQ on Father's Day but it was so packed and he wanted AYCE so we went to this buffet to try out! First off there is no service here at all!! You literally have to go grab everything yourself! Drinks and utensils! Also once the plates starts piling up the workers didn't even come over to grab any of them. So our table just had so many finish plates stacked up! The food wasn't great and below average. Crab legs were tiny and super salty. Food was also salty. Sushi was average. I guess the best thing was ice cream to be honest. The food here is actually really good! We were pleasantly surprised. The crab legs were great. Other favorites were the huge pile of shrimp with cocktail sauce, the fried chicken wings, mini California rolls, and the Mongolian Bbq cooked in front of you. Heard good things about this place, tried it out on a Saturday night and there were parties standing outside waiting to be seated. It took 15-20 to seat me (party of one). I believe it was well worth the wait and roughly $28 after tax. Many options, food out look good, tasted just as good. We were here for lunch, and the selection wasn't as big as we anticipated. I believe they have more food options at dinner. The food was mediocre for buffet food. There is a good variety to choose from, including salad, Mongolian bbq, sushi, and even pizza to satisfy kids or picky eaters. Quality of food is average. This restaurant removed my review and is currently under citation by the Health Department. My husband and son ate there Sunday, 10/13/24 and both have food poisoning. My son was hospitalized. I'm certain they will remove this review as well so I am going to post it on both Google and Reddit. Their refrigerators aren't operating at acceptable temperatures and they were told last week they needed to close. They did not close. On Sunday, the buffet stations were packed with people, and the staff could not keep up with providing clean plates, silverware and glasses. This was my first visit to Beijing Buffet and overall it was ok. Definitely cleaner than so many of the other buffets in the area, and the workers are quick to clear plates and tables. Good selection of food, all cooked well. The only reason I would hesitate to go back is because it was HOT AS HECK in there. Our first time at Beijing Buffet was a good experience. The food was fresh and wide array of selections were available when we made our selections. Although the menu was lunch buffet, the selections were more than sufficient for lunch time. There were many desserts and two choices of ice cream. So I heard this place just opened up. I don't normally do buffets anymore, but I had to try. This place is where the old Sizzlers used to be. Oh man! Did they have a great selection! To top it off, everything I chose was delicious!!! Baked mussels were a good size and not small like at other places. The shrimp fried rice was mmmm. They had OYSTERS!!!! SUSHI!!!! SAHSHIMI!!! They had a desert place but I didn't make it there yet. I'm still trying to finish my third plate! I haven't had more than two plates in years! I just finished my oysters and salmon sashimi. Mmmmmm! Customer service sucks! The lady at the front desk needs a real attitude adjustment. Went to get food at 2:30pm they brought crab legs out at 3pm and was told I wasn't able to get them. Why bring them out if they don't want everyone that got there at 2pm to not grab any!? Food is pretty bad aswell. The only real enjoyable meal was the fresh cooked Mongolian style noodles. See pics for kids pricing, which goes by height. Seniors 65 and over get 10% off. To Go Options are Lunch, Dinner and All Seafood, and are per Pound. No crab legs, seemingly only at dinner, but a chef was hand making sushi behind the sushi station before carefully placing his beautiful creations on ice and in the case. And a Sir Fry Bar had a chef that gave the option of 5 or 6, lost count, different oils and sauces to go with vegetables, including BEAUTIFUL mushrooms and broccoli, seafood, chicken, steak and other stuff, I forget. I recommend a mixture of garlic oil, teriyaki and a little hot chili, but take as little noodles as possible, because it is out of this world good, like can't stop eating good, but super filling! The Fruit, what they had, was Big and Beautiful like the vegetables. It was good seeing all the fruit looking so ripe, sweet and delicious, and it was. Too many standouts to mention, the handmade cream cheese wontons, potstickers and spring rolls with the sweet and sour and whatever the brown sauce was next to them were excellent. Note that the potstickers are best when piping hot with the brown sauce. The usual items were all better than Panda Express, Broccoli Beef, Orange Chicken (not covered in batter, thank goodness) and Chicken Teriyaki. The mushroom chicken was a bit bland, but still good. The noodles were ok, but better to go get them fresh at the Stir Fry Bar. The fried rice was good, didn't see egg chunks, so not true fried rice, but had some little vegetable chunks, so better than the white rice with soy sauce some restaurants are now calling their fried rice. The Butter Shrimp and Fried Shrimp were stupendous. Oh, and the French fries, using whole skin on potatoes and seasoning, were super good. And don't be afraid to pile on the green beans, they were beyond! Cons were no house made hot mustard, that we could find, and no plain ice tea. We did find a hot tea station hiding behind the ice cream machine. It had hot water, Green Jasmine teabags and sugar packets and stuff. We ended up making a cup of hot tea, big thick heavy coffee cups, by the way, and dropping ice in it until it was cool enough to pour over a cup of ice. It made a good strong tea. And the cold drink cups are large, a good thing, not needing to get up and keep replenishing so often. Drinks are included, but we ended up with water because we don't drink soda. It's a family place and there were babies and toddlers there. Not sure what they drank. Didn't see little milk cartons on ice or fresh juices, for example. Desserts were ok, gratefully not super sweet (Hello, Golden Corral), but a couple of the cakes were on the dry side. Puddings tasted not homemade and not good, unfortunately. Best was what I am calling Mango Gel Squares, super amazing and fresh tasting. Also good were the Tiramisu bites and they have big Red Jello Squares, as every buffet should. The Soft Serve Ice Cream machine was Out of Order. We saw them stocking it, so maybe it was still getting the liquid cold enough to serve. I could go on obviously, just look at the pictures for all they have. I started with a plateful of only one piece of each item, because there was so much I wanted to try, then went back and got more of my favs until the Stir fry bar wiped me out and I couldn't eat anymore. Service was excellent. They don't bring you anything, drinks are included and you get them yourself, but the empty plates we put on the edge of the table disappeared almost as quickly as we put them down. I forgot to tip the Stir Fry Bar chef, he had a tip jar at his station, but you can tip ahead of time when you pay upon entering, like when it was Sizzler. And hub said he did that, so that is another way to tip. Note - We found if you want to ask a question, the Stir Fry Chef spoke the best English. read more

I'm sorry but no:( I was so excited to try this place because I am a SUCKER for a good buffet but was extremely disappointed. Most of the food was very bland including the desserts. I can see the crab legs being a big focal point in the choices they have which would be a plus because they were good especially with the butter on the side but they don't even provide the necessary utensils to crack open the crab legs. I guess just use a fork and your teeth. As far as service we really didn't get checked on but i suppose that's to be expected with a mediocre buffet. read more

I went during lunch and the inside was tidy and there was a good amount of people, they also had good music playing (like I knew every song). The host let us choose where we wanted to sit and the other staff would clear our plates when they saw we were done with it. The food was good especially the crab cakes, sushi rolls, and the shrimp. I was really excited to try it! But I was very disappointed at my experience. The service is okay. The lady that was taking the plates was very tentative to picking them up. The food was the thing that was not okay. There is not that many options and the food is not warm enough it is cold. It's not even like medium hot it's just plain cold especially the chow mein. I did not like that and I assume that there is a certain degree to which the tempature was suppose to be. In total it was $100 for 4 people 3 adults and one child. I am not sure what Beijing Buffet the 5 star reviewers are eating at but there was no crab legs at all, the fried rice was bland, and again there was no real selection of food and there was a lot of empty slots for food that never got placed out. Best buffet in Ventura County. Now, I know there aren't many buffets in Ventura County, but this definitely beats the others. The fresh raw oysters and cooked on the spot Mongolian bbq (with steak slices as a choice) alone makes this buffet an incredible value. There are many dishes to choose from, most are typical Asian buffet affair, and are decent in taste, and most seem fresh. The crab legs were ok, a bit on the dry side, but the garlic butter was delicious. I ended up just finding things to dip in the butter sauce. There were several sushi rolls including eel and California rolls, and tuna and salmon sashimi. The sushi is not high grade, but good and a good selection for a medium-sized buffet. I love seaweed salad and was happy they also served this, and kimchi. Dessert was also good with fruit, pineapple salad, gelatin, puddings, and more. But the best desserts here were the soft serve ice cream, the mocha cake, and mango cake. These cakes were light, creamy, and not too sweet. The soft serve and cakes were better than most restaurant ice cream and cakes. And a great plus is that fountain drinks and coffee is included in the price, unlike the other Asian buffet in Port Hueneme. We came for dinner on a Saturday night. The place was busy, and we found that it still had plenty of space to walk around, so I don't know why some were complaining about the spacing. Of course, you can't just cut through the seating space when it is crowded, but walking around was no big deal. The restaurant is clean, modern looking, and well lit. They did a great job with the remodeling of the old Sizzler's. Service was friendly and so fast that we couldn't finish our plates fast enough! And the workers refilled all the dishes quickly, even the raw oysters, which guests were emptying as quickly as the workers were filling them. We were there until about an hour before closing, and everything was still full and fresh. This is a sign of a well-managed buffet. Well, it's a buffet. Some things are great, some are just ok. Lunch is a great value, dinner is pricier but they roll out more items to compensate. Sushi is fairly basic but plentiful and fresh. That alone is almost worth the price. 3 out of 4 times the cook overcooked the noodles on the grill. Still way ok. If you're hungry this is the place.
