First time there, unfortunately did not like it. The people are very nice but the food was very bland, not what I expected. I ordered Szechuan tofu with veges, The tofu was very soft, falling apart and it wasn't spicy at all it was actually not even very flavorful I came home fried it all up and added my own seasonings to make it tolerable..The veggie chow mein also was very bland I had to doctor that up as well... I've most recently ordered from this restaurant on 5/31/20. I called in for a takeout order around 4:30pm and was told it would be ready in 10-15mins. I got there around 5:10, and it was ready for me. The food I got tasted great, and you get generously sized portions. I definitely will be coming back whenever I'm in the mood for Chinese food. The order: -house chow mein: super tasty and not overly greasy. It comes with chicken, shrimp, imitation crab, and maybe some other meats that I cannot remember. -beef with broccoli: good flavor! -honey walnut shrimp: my favorite dish at Chinese restaurants. The shrimp was cooked just right and had the right amount of "batter" or whatever you call the sauce. The walnuts are freshly fried and taste amazing. Came here right before the statewide shutdown for dine-in due to COVID-19. I ordered the Ma Po Tofu. I did not expect it to be so good to be honest, because there aren't too many authentic Chinese restaurants in this immediate area. The dish was prepared very well, with the 'Ma-La' flavor that only Szechuan peppercorns can deliver. It also contained chopped up bits of Szechuan pickled radishes. Aside from 'Szechuan' specialty restaurants in Sacramento, I haven't tasted such authenticity. I spoke to the manager (owner?) of the restaurant and she told me that the chef was trained in China. This place is an enormous improvement over the previous restaurant that operated in this space. They've also updated the decor, silverware, plates, chopsticks, and furniture, it is warm and inviting and their service is top notch. The old place was a true hole-in-the-wall 'cheap eats' lunch only type of Chinese restaurant, but this new place is definitely on my go-to list now, the great thing is that the price of the dishes generally hasn't increased, but they do offer more elevated dishes that are more expensive. read more

Let me first start saying this, I've been in this Rancho Cordova area more then 15 years and Beijing Cafe is one of the yummiest and friendliest restaurant I have been to. The food is beyond AMAZING and so affordable. When they opened up day 2, I was there to check this place out and met the super sweet owner (Dani), not only is she the sweetest and friendliest person I have ever met, she greeted me like we had already known each other. The food was so delicious that I went back the next day with my co workers, then 3rd day with my Son and 4th day with my Family. since then I am addicted at this wonderful place. Honestly I have to visit this place and eat At least 3 times a week, I have tried the spring rolls, kung pao chicken, sweet and sour chicken, curry noodles as well, all was super super yumi!!! Give this place a try, you won't regret it. Beijing is a amazing restaurant and family owned and I totally love and respect how the family works together. I know I will be coming here all the time and I highly suggest you should as well. Went to get takeout here today. Left paying a good price for the very large amount of food that I received. Staff was friendly. Taste was fairly good with most items, with the expected hit and miss. The general chicken was by far the most tasty. Unlike many other Chinese food places, this place never messed with my stomach afterwards. Recommended and will personally be going back. read more

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant! Their brazed tofu is a favorite of ours! They have your standard fair along with some other dishes that you may not be used to seeing on the menu. Their in person dining is clean, quaint, and enjoyable. We have never been disappointed with what we have ordered. They've also been quick and professional when handling orders and in serving the food. It can be a bit more expensive for some dishes, but it is possible to not break the bank and still have a filling, tasty meal here. read more

Came here during the corona virus after finding out silver dragon is now closed/: well they are very friendly and professional staff but let's cut to the chase, the food was cold none of it was fresh, I ordered the walnut shrimp, the shrimp was chewy obviously not fresh at all left a bad taste in my mouth. I also ordered shrimp fried rice, same deal shrimp was old so i ate around it, the rice was flavorless it tasted like no other fried rice I've ever eaten, very disappointing, I also ordered the house chow mein also cold and flavorless, I also ordered their chicken curry And to my surprise it was actually hot still and had a pretty decent flavor to it, not bad but it wasn't great. I was looking for a place to eat in tge area of my job. I stumbled across this place. What caught my attention was the pineapple seafood fried rice. What did it for me was the curry seasoning used. To me it took the plate to another level. So much so, I don't use any sauce at all. That is my go to for this place. I've had a few other things on the menu and they all were great. I really wanted to like this place because I have yet to find good chinese in my area and unfortunately was disappointed. The potstickers were cold and soggy and the breading on the general chicken was also soggy. The beef in the beef chow mein was mostly fat with hints of actual meat. The vegetable mushu was just ok. Overall the flavor profiles weren't great and the execution of the cooking is poor. Whoa! We are blown away! Their food is absolutely delicious! It was piping hot!!! Fresh veggies in the Kung Pao chicken, crisp and fresh. Their shrimp chowmein has plenty of good size shrimps!
