Great food, delicious super long long noodles. The bean noddle like they can make it veggie style

I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed my experience at Beijing restaurant. Initially, I was not sure what to expect since I couldn't tell if this was a Chinese or Korean restaurant, turns out, its both! Beijing Restaurant offers a wide variety of options, with lots of entree dishes, noodles, and much more! My party of 4 arrived at 7 pm and there was no wait. Plenty of parking available too. Moving on to food, I got to try the black bean noodles, wor wonton noodle soup and sweet and sour pork. The portions are very big, I highly recommend sharing. The black bean noodles and sweet and sour pork were super delicious. The wor wonton noodles were okay. I was expecting it to be like the traditional wonton noodles. But still delicious! read more

We found this place after reading an article about how Chinese-Korean fusion food was a thing and black bean noodles are a must try, and it was so close we considered it fate. I've only ever gotten take-out from Beijing because I live so close by and my boyfriend has this thing with getting Chinese takeout, so I always try to keep in mind that the food might not be as good as if you ate it in the restaurant, and I can't really speak on the service of the restaurant. After reading the other reviews though, I definitely want to try dining in sometime (free tea? Yes.). We typically get the black bean noodles - they're so good and the portion size is fantastic! One downside to getting takeout I think, is that the noodles tend to be stuck together by the time they make it back home and the sauce a little on the thick side (but still delicious, though sometimes it's thicker than others so it's kind of goopy when you mix it with the noodles). It's nice that they put them separately though for takeout. The eggplant is also delicious; we tend to order this every time. The only disappointing dish I've tried from here though, was the sesame chicken. It was really springy and had a rubbery texture to it and seemed almost fiberous - we could almost peel it like string cheese, which was a little offputting and not something caused by takeout. The flavor too, was just kind of... okay. Definitely skipping that again in the future. My biggest disappointment though, was that when we were getting the takeout, they actually dropped the chicken. They only gave us the chicken that hadn't touched the floor (which was most of it still, like at least 2/3 of it) and then, since the kitchen had already closed at that point, gave us a free thing of rice to go with it. We also had already ordered rice for our dishes so we just ended up with two things of takeout rice. Given how bad the chicken was, in retrospect, I would have totally rather had that one extra takeout box of rice over the chicken that had fallen on the floor. However, I was a little annoyed that the chicken had fallen on the floor, spilled out, and all they did was give us a free thing of rice. Rice is stupid cheap! At least give us half off or a discount or free dessert or *something* that's not so obviously cheap. I was also annoyed at my boyfriend for accepting the extra thing of rice too lol. 3 stars for the restaurant, and 3 stars for the boyfriend haha. Will this stop me from going back? Nah. The rice at least, was better than nothing and I guess I should be thankful I didn't have more crappy sesame chicken leftovers. Unrelated to their food - Beijing's website is atrocious and like, laughably bad. There's no ability to see their menu and the images on the page are tiny. Don't go there for anything but the phone number and address. Or at all, since you can get both those from yelp. read more

Interesting Beijing style restaurant operated by Koreans. Quite a hidden gem. I ordered seafood udon with egg, fast service, I got my food less than 5 mins after I ordered. The seafood broth has umami taste, but I felt thirty afterward not sure if it's because of MSG. Other than that, everything was great. Right amount of seafood, abundance of squid, mussels, shrimps and the egg was cooked perfectly. The udon noodle was the type I love. They offered sweet potato as complimentary desert. The place is a casual Chinese-inspired Korean restaurant that serves my ultimate comfort food - Jja jang myun! "Jja jang" is a black bean sauce and is stir-fried with pork, potatoes, radish, onions, zucchini. The sauce is served over wheat noodles and can be eaten with something refreshing like cucumber, kimchi, or daikon radish. In addition to Jja jang myun, they have all the nostalgic favorites of Korean-style Chinese food like yaki mandu (fried dumplings), tang soo yook (sweet and sour fried pork), and jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup)! I also ventured off of my usual list of nostalgic favorites to get the juicy meat dumplings (XLB) and the braised eggplant dish. Both dishes were tasty! This has got to be the best jajangmyeon and jjampong in the Bay area!! So delicious! It's become a favorite and frequent restaurant of ours! The restaurant is tucked away in a small plaza (right around the corner from a Korean market), and the overall look and feel of it is very nice. No complaints. Came here for a work gathering and the service was pretty good given that we had the two big tables inside the sliding glass doors. The food was great, we all ordered one dish so I can't begin to tell you which ones we all ordered. However, two things stood out to me. The garlic sauce eggplant was super. It's hard to cook eggplants (if you didn't know) most of the time it's super oily or the texture of the eggplant is cooked to mush. The dish didn't have excessive oil like other places and I could still see the purple in the eggplant! Yum What I didn't like was the ja jia mien (noodles with black sauce). Super bland ... I like their jajangmyeon especially. They have side dish of radish and kimch (yasss!!) so that's a plus as well. Tansuyuk is somewhat dry which I don't like much but my company loved it. (Gotta do sauce on the side!) try with dipping into sauce and then dip it on to the soy sauce. That's sweet and sour right there! This used to be my favorite spot for black bean noodle, jajangmien. Recently, they have changed their hand pulled noodle to instant udon noodles? The kind where anyone can buy at the market and boil themselves. The texture now is completely different. Way too chewy and starchy. Maybe the owner or cooks are trying to find easier ways to pull out dishes but the noodle is the main ingredient so I'm not sure why they chose this short-cut. Really disappointed. The texture of the hard instant udon noodle really wrecked my appetite. Too bad; use to come here every weekend with family and friends. Need to find another good spot for authentic jajangmien! read more

This Nice korean style Chinese restraunt around naverhood. I have Couple things I wish they would change. - Drink. I wish they had fountain soda. Their foods are pretty greasy I want to drink more soda. - too sweet. Almost everything said sweet. Or some kind of tangy sauce were really sweet. Like Chill shrimp it was almost like I was drinking sugar sryup. Even soup taste sweet after you taste that. - kungpao chicken doesn't have enough meat in it. My grandparents eat here every once in awhile and I have never tried it so we decided to go for lunch! It's not too big of a restaurant so expect a small wait during busy hours. There is two little bon chon dishes, kimchi and another one I'm unsure what the name is. What we ordered: -Hot & Sour soup: really good! -Mu Shu Pork: you only get 4 little wrapping paper and after that it's 25 cents per wrap -Xo seafood fried rice: did not taste any XO sauce at all! Tasted like regular fried rice, disappointing. -Dry Black Bean noodle: didn't know exactly what this was but saw it at almost every table, it was really good! The sauce is strong and it has onions to compliment the sauce. -Xiao Long Bao: I'm usually picky about this at restaurants but it was really good here. -Green beans with beef: nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, everything was pretty good and the bill came out to $68! That's rather inexpensive, especially with how much food we ordered. Following my friend's recommendation, I paid a visit to this Korean-Chinese restaurant. Located just off El Camino Real and a block from Han Kook supermarket, this restaurant is pretty easy to find. There is ample of parking as well and that itself is already plus in my book! Walking in, I love the space; neat, clean and bright (I would love to sit-in next time). I ordered the Jajjangmyun noodle ($7.95) to-go, since I was crunched for time. The food comes out lightning fast, literary within 5 mins! They packed it quite neatly, although it would be nice if they included some of daikon radish and kimchi to go along with it. Flavor-wise, the Jajjangmyun was seriously tasty! A little on the salty side, but I like it that way and the aroma makes it even more enticing! Overall, flavors, price and service are on point. It's strange that the crank really loud music outside. It's the same inside except luckily softer. Mostly strange pop music. It's nicer than i thought it would be for a strip mall space. Food from various regions if China with some Korean influence. They were out of my first fee choices. Ended up with XLB and tea smoked duck. The former were decent but the duck was a bit dry and under seasoned. Service is nice and they worked around my friends allergies. It's nice to find restaurants like this. Beijing is a Korean run restaurant that specializes in Chinese cuisine. Many dishes are Korean versions of popular Chinese dishes although some are also served their more traditional style. The fact this restaurant exists attests to the popularity of Chinese cuisine but also to the substantial population of Korean Americans that has made this area of Santa Clara thrive for Korean cuisine. My weekday visit was at one of their off hour but convenient continuous opening hours from lunch to dinner. The decor is surprising upscale especially for the strip mall location. I was the only non-Korean among the patrons and most seemed to be ordering their popular black bean dry noodles or their Korean spicy seafood noodles. My order: Seafood Black Bean Noodles - $7.95. This is the Korean version of the Chinese dish Ja Jiang Mian and is called Ja Jang Myun (sp?) in Korean. Black bean sauce is mixed with delicious bits of fatty pork and seafood and served on the side. The dry noodles are served on the side and with a nice sunny side up egg. Kimchi and pickled daikon compete the meal. Sweet and Sour Pork - $10.95. Two versions were offered to me. Either the traditional bright red sauce Chinese version or a lighter orange color but sweeter sauce enjoyed in the Korean version. I opted for the Korean version and the deep fried pieces of pork were a nice crispy crunch to the pickled vegetables and pineapple that was plated on top of the orange sauce. I'm not the biggest sweet and sour fan but this was tasty. I liked the black bean noodle so much I ordered the pork version ($6.95) to go. An unexpected highlight was the complimentary dessert. I'm surprised at the low rates of Beijing. My dad told me that their original chef was gone for awhile but came back, and maybe that's why? Anyways, the food was AMAZING! I'm always on a search for really good jjajangmyun and it definitely hit the spot. Noodles were cooked to perfection with really good portions of the sauce. We also ordered stir fried vegetables, tang su yook, and their champon. Their tang Su yook and their jjajangmyun definitely is a must try here. The place is really clean and has a cute interior. A nice host opened the door for us and greeted us hello and good bye. Our servers were attentive and was quick to get everything we needed. This place apparently just opened a couple of weeks ago. A family friend invited our family to lunch here on a Sunday. The decorations here are very nice, and the entire place is very clean, including the bathrooms. We were in a private room off to the side. I have the feeling the owners are Korean or something, or Chinese living in Korea, because the menu had Korean on it, and the TVs were playing Kpop music videos - although the music playing was some other station completely, so that was a bit strange. Sweet and sour soup - some of the best I've had Clams - cooked with a savory bean sauce. Pretty good! Dumplings - decent Bok choy - pretty good for bok choy Some kind of shredded pork thing I think? - pretty interesting, unsure if would eat again 2 different types of sea cucumber dishes - alright for sea cucumber Stir fried veggies with strips of pork - pretty good I have no idea how much it cost because I think my sister was treating and I bolted before we finished. Came here with a friend and got the set meal items of fried dumpling, hot and sour soup, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork, and white rice. It was delicious! I especially loved the sweet and sour pork. The atmosphere in this place is pretty generic Asian fare, and most of the guests were asian. The menu has Chinese/English/Korean on it. I'm surprised this place only has a little over 100 reviews because the food here is soooo good! If you're craving & looking for THE BEST "Jajangmyeon", this is the place to go! The portions are huge and the sauce/noodles are the best I've tasted! NO LIE! The restaurant is pretty nice and very clean. It's somewhat small so if you happen to come during the weekend for lunch/dinner, expect wait times. I've only been here twice and on both occasions the restaurant was packed and the line was out the door. Regardless of how busy they get though, the service here is good and the food comes out quick! OK found our next favorite chinese restaurant that is Korean inspired! It's the best of both worlds! LOVE their Ja Jiant Mian - the seafood one. They have the noodles (which by the way is so FRESH) with a over easy egg on time - and the seafood sauce on the side! OMG - it was SO good! The use a lot of onions to keep the sweetness but the combo with the cut up egg which makes it richer tasting and the seafood! SO perfect!! The other dish we loved was their seafood noodle soup with egg! OMG - the flavor of the broth - the tender fresh seafood (clams still in their shells) and the AWESOME FRESH noodles - I will go back JUST for this dish!! While it wasn't made like my friends mom makes it but given I've never had that version - I'm good with this version!! :) The Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup - well I guess it's super popular here but for me I didn't really give it a try as it looked WAY to spicy! But my friends liked it though the soup spice was a bit much. We had asked for it to be milder so it's scary to think what full blown would be like.. but the other version with egg more than made up for it!! :) Lastly you can't go there with out their Korean style sweet and sour pork. We've had it both ways - one with sauce on top and one on the side. While on the side the pork stays crispy - I now vote for sauce on top! It infuses the flavor of the subtle sweet and sour sauce into the pork so much better. And the Korean style is very subtle - not strong like the chinese version - and they have different veggies! A definite must try dish.... Definitely a go to place for our family - they do get busy but the go thru the tables very fast - service is fast and friendly. Place is nice, roomy and clean. Easily one of my favorite places to eat jajjang myun (black bean noodles) in the Bay! Noodles are chewy and the sauce isn't too heavy. Sauce contains a generous serving of noodle, pork belly, shrimp, squid, and onions. Also, the sweet and sour pork pairs really well with the jajjang myun. It gives the whole dish a kick! read more

Small size restaurant with modern decor ( nice) ! Three private rooms with glass wall and door ( very nice)!! Authentic Beijing or chinese food ( not so nice) !! I am actually pretty disappointed of their food. Tried dry fry chicken wing , string bean, sweet and sour pork and one other dish. All of them were not so satisfied. Lack In taste and not authentic. The best of the day was actually the on house caramelized yam... Sigh... Despite the taste, the line never stopped, but one thing I noticed, most people who dine there speaks Korean, in fact the menu also have Korean translation for each dish. When you see a chinese restaurant with only 10% or less chinese customers, this means something... For me, food taste still matter the most, I really like the decor and idea of private room for hosting a small private gathering ( don't usually see this in a chinese restaurant) but if the food is below average, I don't see myself returning just for the VIP room. read more

My family always makes an effort to come here whenever I visit from Florida because they say it's the best noodle place in town. We always get either the jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup) or the jjajangmyun (black bean noodle soup) with the sweet and spicy pork. The pork dish is great. The meat is fried to a crisp and the sauce that covers it is sweet with fresh vegetables and pineapple. Dip it in soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper powder! It tastes even better (definitely Korean style). The jjajangmyun is my favorite. They give you a great portion with lots of sauce to mix in with your noodles. At the end, they even give you a complimentary "dessert", which is basically this fried sweet potato drizzled in this honey like sauce. It's a great end after your savory meal. And of course, the side dishes of kimchi and the pickled radish is free & unlimited! Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. read more
