Pleased to have found this gem of a restaurant. Wonderful date night dinner with my husband. Will definitely return.

So I just ate here for my girlfriends birthday and solely was disappointed. First, the salad that's special of theirs is nothing more than lettuce an oil-based dressing some cheese and crispy prosciutto where is the olives the courton's the roasted red peppers the Italian meats. Sorry not impressed with that at all then I ordered pasta three ways now the menu doesn't tell you really what it is but assuming you have eaten at any good Italian restaurant you would expect three separate portions of pasta maybe with three different sauces or meats or cheese pairings but no this is honestly penne pasta angel hair pasta and ravioli all in one dish baked with one dry meatball my pasta was overcooked and burnt. I obviously ate next to nothing and the waiter didn't even bother to ask me if there was a problem just if I wanted a box. This was a bad experience and would take a lot for me to go back i have better meals at olive garden hell even fazolis which is the mcdonalds of pasta was better. read more

wayyyyyy overpriced for how bland the food is, how dated the décor is and how rushed the server was. Never smiled once.

Ordered take out for some co-workers for lunch, not only was the food outstanding, the service (just for take out) was superb.

Came here with a group of 20. Excellent lasagna!!!! The service was great and food was delicious.

Generally, good food and good service. A couple times, my meat was way undercooked (rare instead of medium well) and the special wasn't all that great. Those couple of incidents haven't stopped me from coming here because all of the other times were so good, even if it's a little pricey. read more

This place is very popular with the locals, probably because it's about the only place you can get decent Italian food in the immediate area. I would describe the overall experience as good. The food is fine, if overpriced. (If you can't make money selling pasta or Chinese food, you're in the wrong business.) Service is usually pretty good. Since they do not accept reservations, I think that the servers are under pressure to turn the tables on busy evenings, leading to a deterioration in service. They do have early bird specials on drinks and food if you arrive before 6:30. read more

This is a classy restaurant best in this area. Food is amazing and service is excellent. Many delectable choices. Atmosphere reminds me a restaurant in New York or San Francisco. Prices are commensurate with service and outstanding menu choices. I could eat here everyday. read more

Took my mother to Bella Milano for Mother's Day lunch. Offered to take her ANYWHERE to eat and she said Bella Milano without hesitation. Please know that my mother is 90 years old and knows great food and service. She went for the T-Ravs and decided that the meat in the red sauce had to be steak! I absolutely could eat the citrus honey salmon every day. Actually, you can't get a bad meal at Bella's. The service was a 10 out of 10. Nothing but great things to say about this restaurant. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience tonight. The toasted ravioli was very good as well as the salad. However, we ordered the pasta special and it was dry, dry, dry. There was absolutely no sauce whatsoever. If I go back, I will not order pasta. We didn't eat half of it and didn't take the leftovers home. The manager came over and offered to give us some sauce. No thank you. I normally do not complain but that was terrible food and poor service on the so called manager. read more

My favorite Italian place in the area by far! Never had any complaints! We eat this restaurant at least once a month. They give the best coupons for birthdays and anniversaries and even participate in Thanx rewards. Well worth the money! read more

I really like their steaks but its not a place to go if you're looking for Italian. The pastas are pretty bad.

Interesting place almost missed it tucked in with all the other businesses. Cool side entrance and a fireplace in the dining area. Ordered pistachio crusted tilapia and flash fried spinach. Came with soup choice, tomato basil. Side of pasta with red sauce. Meal, service, and atmosphere all 5stars. One thing to change, better bread service. I was traveling overnight in Edwardsville and looking for something higher end than BBQ or bar food. Having never traveled in this area I turned to Yelp for guidance and found this. The reviews looked pretty good and Italian food happens to be a fav of mine. I was thoroughly impressed from the moment I walked in. Restaurant has a nice upscale ambiance and the staff was very friendly. The food, from the salad to the entree was delicious, honestly some of the best I've had dining out in recent memory. Be advised, you will pay for it and probably won't get out paying less than $35 per person...but it will be worth it! read more

Bella Milano is uneven at best. At times we have enjoyed hot, flavorful meals. At other times we were quite disappointed. Six months ago the lasagna was the culprit. Several layers of pasta covered in a pound of thick, gooey cheese. Just because you can use that much cheese doesn't mean you should. Yuck. Sent it back. Got a bit of attitude from the manager of the day. Last night it was flavorless orange roughy. Sent it back. Manager apologized and took it off the bill. Spouse had linguine and clams. Tasted reheated, kinda like the pasta you brought home and reheated for lunch the next day. I don't want to beat this place up, it just seems to have a lot of turnover of wait staff and I wonder if the same is occurring in the kitchen. Eight out of ten times it is fine, not outstanding, but good. Two out of ten times make you wonder why you came back those other eight. read more

Went on a Sunday for a birthday lunch for my mother in law. Food was OK but service was terrible. Empty water and tea glasses. One entree came out 10 minutes after the others. The restaurant was only half full so I am not sure why the delay in the food or the poor table service. Overall the place is fine but should not be a first choice for the money. read more

We are from Texas and some local friends highly recommended BM. It was 8:15 on a Sunday evening. Good crowd but it was clearing out. Hostess sat us with menus and we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally after 15 minutes and not even an "I'll be right with you", I said let's go somewhere else. We travel a lot and eat out a lot. Whenever it starts out bad, it's always ends even worse. We own restaurants in Texas and we know how important it is to make a great first impression! Before leaving, I did track down a manager to let her know what had happened. She was very friendly and really tried to talk us into staying (She was the reason for the 2-star rather than a 1-star!) We ended up eating a really great St Louis-style pizza right across the street from a place called Imo's. They were happy to take our money. Lol read more

Excellent service, accommodations, food and server today for a group of 10 ladies from our church. I called ahead for a reservation and asked to be placed in a more quiet area which they totally accommodated us. Our server, Trent, was EXCELLENT. He was superb in his customer service. It was recommended by a desk clerk at the Towneplace hotel and the clerk was right. It has an Italian menu but not like any Italian menu I have ever experienced. The house salad looks very ordinary, even boring. It looks like pile of lettuce. But it is not ordinary lettuce but a mix of interesting greens. Also under the top layer there is bacon and cheese. And the vinegar & oil has some added herbs of some kind. It turned out to be a memorable salad. I had the Chicken Mudiga. Chicken breast with cheese, mushrooms, prosciutto and a white wine lemon butter sauce. Outstanding. The place was super busy the night we were there and we had to wait a while but it was well worth the wait. We were served by Molly who did a great job. With all the pressure that night she was cool and calm. She gave us wonderful attentive service. When we let her know we had a deadline she expedited things but never made us feel rushed. read more

The worst experience we've had here. The wait was 45 minutes so we sat at the bar. We had 2 waiters come by and ask for our drink orders. We asked for a drink menu then never saw a waiter again until the manager came by to ask our names to see if they texted our number. Finally we got to order our wine and had quickly. After a 30 minute wait we got a table. People waiting on their tables stood in front of us the WHOLE time. Very annoying to hear their convos and have their butts in our face the whole meal. The food was delayed due to be so busy, then once it arrived my chicken Parmesan was tough and parts were inedible. I regret eating here regardless the discount we got for the tough chicken parm. The waiter was nice and very apologetic. We will NOT eat here again. Not worth it. read more

First time to use Yelp and it worked great. Kids took us out for our birthdays and we had a great time. Jesse our waiter was fantastic.

Nothing special. The veal was covered in so much sauce that it was mushy. The flavor tasted like chicken fried steak and not veal. Salads, appetizers and entrees were all at the table within 2 minutes of each other. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Went to bellas Nov 1st food good as always but the cleanliness of the building not bad but the bathrooms are disgusting let alone the trip to the bathrooms theirs the moproom you get to peer into and smell the musty mops that looks like they moped the parking lot with we were going to have my sons rehearsal dinner there but going to have to rethink this can't have all my gust looking at that mess wipe down your bathroom stalls they are supposed to be black read more

Our waitress was awesome. I am a picky eater and she made amazing suggestions and was not even taken aback by my questions or concerns. I had spaghetti with red sauce and it was delicious. Everyone in my party raved at how good their meal tasted as well. The house dressing is awesome and so is their bread.
