My wife absolutely loves barbecue, so I decided to surprise her by taking her to Belly Barbecue for lunch today. After reading the reviews, I made sure we arrived early--and there was already a line out the door! In "Foodie Language," that's an excellent sign. From the moment we arrived, the experience was fantastic. Every patron we encountered was incredibly friendly, and Marcus, the owner, along with his staff, were nothing short of amazing. They were genuine, welcoming, and wonderful ambassadors for their restaurant. We ordered the brisket, pork ribs, smoked turkey, collard greens, cornbread, mac & cheese, Brunswick stew, and, of course, the pecan bar. I'm sorry, but words simply cannot begin to do justice to how delicious everything was! Every bite was outstanding, and their barbecue sauces were equally fantastic. Marcus and his team absolutely hit it out of the ballpark--not only with the food, but with their genuine hospitality. You can tell when people truly take pride in what they do, and that certainly comes through here. And, of course, I couldn't leave empty-handed! We ended up taking home several more pieces of turkey and brisket to enjoy later. And those pickles and pickled onions? Let's just say they still have my mouth watering like Pavlov's dog! Thank you again, Marcus, for making our lunch such a wonderful experience. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back--with family and friends! Rob & Jennifer

Super glad we made it ! Belly is open FRI/SAT/SUNDAY. Best barbecue I've had in a long time! SUPER tender ribs and brisket, all the sides were delicious! Mac and cheese , baked beans were our fav, collard greens a delight as well....Not that you need the bbq sauce but even that was outstanding. Pure delight that they're sourcing high-quality meats, smokers, putting in all the prep, and it shows. To top it off Owner marcus was out greeting and asking everyone if they needed anything and making everyone feel welcome! Absolutely love this place!!!! Will be back go here now

Every time I come here, no matter what time it is, there's always a line out the door and I can definitely see why. Even when they're busy, the service is quick and everyone is friendly. The wait is honestly worth it because the food is always packed with flavor. Everything we got was so good. The meats had a nice smoky flavor with a great bark on the outside while still being juicy and tender. The ribs were especially good and the pork belly was thick, flavorful, and had that perfect crispy outside. Even the sides were worth getting the mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy and the cornbread was sweet, moist and went perfectly with the BBQ. Definitely recommend this place if you're craving good BBQ. The portions are generous, the food tastes fresh, and they give you plenty of sauces and pickled veggies to go with everything. There's a reason there's always a line here, and I'll definitely keep coming back!

Yo!! I came here with my guy Manveer Eats and woulda came here two years ago if I knew this place was on this level. It's on par with Terry Blacks and Hutchins out in Texas. You will have to wait in line so get there early. Marcus the owner is super cool, from Atlanta if I remember right. But the brisket, the Dino rib, the Mac, the blueberry cornbread.... looking forward to coming back! Go here!! Trust me!! 10/10

Went to Belly BBQ in Folsom and tried the beef rib, spicy sausage, pork ribs, and brisket. Everything was amazing, but the beef rib was definitely the star. It was super tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The mac and cheese, baked beans, and cornbread were all really tasty too. We came in on a Sunday and it was BUSY! Unfortunately, they had already run out of the pork belly and a few other things, but we definitely weren't disappointed with what we got. The owner even came by and apologized for running out of certain items, which was really nice of him. He seems like a genuinely good guy, and you can tell he knows what he's doing when it comes to BBQ. At this point, I think it's time for a bigger place! We'll definitely be back, and hopefully next time we can get our hands on that pork belly. Side note the cookie was actually amazing as well this place did not lack in any department.

We arrived to the restaurant at 10:50am and there was already a line around the building. Once the doors opened we waited about 35-40 minutes to order. We ordered the Feed 2-3 tray which comes with smoked turkey, pork ribs, brisket, two sides, and a dessert. We got baked beans and collard greens and opted to substitute the dessert for blueberry cornbread. We also added one spicy and one regular sausage, a large mac and cheese, and two regular cornbreads to the meal. Everything was outstanding! But the brisket, mac and cheese, and cornbread were the stars of the plate in my opinion. The customer service was friendly and attentive. The owner even stopped by our table to check on us and brought over complimentary sweet tea and lemonade for the table. We left with our bellies full and plenty of leftovers. The food is definitely worth the wait and we cannot wait to return.

Belly BBQ lives up to the hype We tried the beef rib, pork ribs, brisket, and sausage. For sides we chose Mac n cheese, baked beans, and their famous blueberry cornbread! Definitely arrive early if you plan to go! The line takes between 45 mins - 1.5hr. Worth the wait!

This is quite literally the best BBQ spot in the entire Sacramento region. Let me tell ya what it's like. It's in Folsom which is far from me in Natomas but 100% worth the drive. There is always a wait-so be ready for 30-60 minutes in line when you arrive, you can wait before they open and be one of the first customers or you can wait while they are open and you can watch all these other people eat and hope they don't eat up all the brisket-it's up to you. They are only open extremely limited days and hours. They are only open 3 days a week for 11 hours total. 11am-2pm on Fridays and 11am-3pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Now let's talk about why it's worth dealing with all those cons-the food. Their Brisket is perfect. The Pulled Pork is among the best I've ever had. The Pork Ribs are so tasty and flavorful-darn near flawless. Their Sausages have a perfect snap and seasonings-so tasty. Their Turkey is easily the best turkey I've ever had at a BBQ joint-so juicy and tender-not even 1% dry. The sides have all been legendary. The Brunswick Stew is truly to die for. Mac N Cheese was so good it got me to believe in ordering it again after so many bad experiences elsewhere. The Blueberry Cornbread has ruined all other cornbreads for me-I bought extra to bring home and it never even survived the drive. So these are the reasons that Belly BBQ in my opinion is the finest BBQ establishment in the Sacramento regio

Hey it's worth the wait but get there early!! I came here while at school and was pleasantly shocked to see the line. We waited for our entire lunch break ( we were late getting back to class) but it was worth it. I ordered the ribs and turkey and they were both really good. The ribs were tender flavorful! They sell everything by the 1/2 pound and seeing people walk out with large trays made me a little anxious like they might sell out! But if you stay close you need to try Belly! There is a reason they are only open 11hours a week!!

Busy Saturday. Inside after 40 minute wait.

Came to area for a blood draw at Quest. Saw the line at Belly and, since I'd been fasting since yesterday, I decided to get in line to try BBQ. The temp was about 96 degrees. After 47 minutes in line, I finally entered the restaurant. There was no water for people waiting in the heat for so long. Some were obviously handicapped and it would have shown some thoughtfulness for their visitors had they had water outside OR made it clear that there was water available just to nauseate door. Thankfully, I brought my own water. After I got to the counter to order, I ordered the Tray for 2-3: brisket, ribs, turkey. Swapped turkey for add'l ribs. 2 sides and I added a third: Mac n cheese, slaw, baked beans. Sacramento, IMHO, is a BBQ desert. Having lived in the Midwest (St Louis) for forty years, I KNOW good BBQ. The best I've found in the area is in Placerville. I brisket! When I find it, it usually had all of the fat cut off. That is where the flavor lies. The next place that has a decent BBQ in the area is Bear West. However, they can be inconsistent with the tenderness of their ribs. They also don't serve brisket. I go to BBQ joints for the MEAT. If the sides are good, that's wonderful. At Belly BBQ, the brisket was definitely to my liking: smoky, with a nice well cooked fat cap and tender. The sauce enhanced the flavor of the meat. I would order it again. The ribs were also tasty, though a bit chewy on parts of the ribs. The Pitmaster obviously is passionate about desire to create good BBQ. I welcome his talents to Sacramento and hope that he'll grow his restaurant. Unfortunately, I was not so pleased with the sides. It's about personal tastes and while I ate them all, I would not order any of them again. I had the slaw (too dry) Mac n cheese (mushy and not very cheesy) and baked beans (would have like a bit more flavor/seasoning).They offered pickled onions and cucumbers. That was a nice and delicious touch. Dessert also was a part of this choice and I got the lemon pound cake. They also offered Cheesy Grits, collard greens and Brunswick Stew. I would try them next time though I don't think it will be soon. I don't like the wait time for entry. The dining area is quite small and was full. The "service area" where one gets utensils, plates, extra sauce is not big at all and difficult to access while holding your bag to go. I would order meat only and take it home to my own sides. A kind man seated at a table next to this station saw me struggling and offered to hold my bag and then invited me to sit at their table, which I did. I encourage those who love BBQ to try to visit during one of the 11 hours this operation is open during the week. As for me, I'll wait to return when they have kinder hours of operation or it is cooler. I spoke with the owner briefly. He said they will put water out next weekend. Read his story. It is an interesting one.

When we read reviews, the bottom line is we wanna know if this is a place that we should try. Belly barbecue should be on your radar, and yes, the bottom line is you want this!! Here's why- This is a family owned business nestled in the heart of Folsom. Definitely not a place that you would necessarily expect to find a BBQ joint, but absolutely a reason for you to travel here, drive here, wherever you are, you should definitely fill your belly here. The brisket, the beef and pork ribs, the turkey, and the links are all smoked on site and big barrel smokers. Everything is made in house. The greens, the mac & cheese, the cornbread, the beans, and the dessert desserts! What should you order? Anything and everything, but you absolutely will want the brisket. That is how you know that the food is THAT good. They offer the fatty cut and the lean cut. I would definitely go for both, but I personally like the fatty cut. It's perfectly smoked. The meat is flavorful, tender, lightly seasoned, and truly a perfect smoke. The pork ribs are tender, slightly peppered, and really tasty. The sausage comes a couple different ways, and I went for the mild. It's served sliced, and you know it's going to be good because when you bite into it, you still get that snap from the skin. What sides should you get? The beans, greens and blueberry cornbread. If you're dining with someone, you can order the 2-3 platter and make some adjustments. If you're dining alone, get this anyway because you're going to want leftovers. This is another great way to tell the quality of the food. It's one thing to enjoy it when you're dining, but when you have the leftovers and they taste even better... You know you've scored! The beans are amazing! So incredibly flavorful, filled with chunks of meat, you might even spot a veggie or two in there, and they are so incredibly perfectly seasoned. Literally the best beans I've had in a restaurant. The blueberry cornbread. Before you make a face or question my sanity, not only what you want this, but you should get an extra slice to have with your leftovers at home. Yes, it's cornbread, but it taste more like a lighter version of cake. It's not gritty, it's moist, and the blueberries just elevate the cornbread. The greens. If you love greens, and like me, you've been hard-pressed to find a restaurant that can make them correctly, look no further. Another sign that the food is delicious, when you eat the greens as leftovers/on the second day, and they're even better than they were on day one. I'm telling you this is magic! Their desserts are pretty legit, and that banana pudding is lighter than air and is absolutely delicious. Diners tip: they open at 11 AM, and people were lined up at 9:30 am waiting to get in to order food for either dine in, or take away. The line stayed at least 50 people deep during our dining experience, and I would imagine it stayed that way until they closed. Belly BBQ has been opened going on two years, and if they are not on your radar, they should be! Go get your smoked meat game on!

Checked out for first time as early fathers day lunch Saturday at 11. Was shocked by the line wrapping around the building before they opened! Once the door opened staff kept coming out and were very focused on keeping an opening in the line for the Taqueria next door. When we got inside there is a small eating area and I was surprised to see some were still available. Probably took about 20 min for us to get to the counter. All the staff were friendly. Ordered 2x 3 person trays (sub out turkey): brisket, ribs, bourbon pork belly, spicy sausage, cheesy grits, slaw, Mac & cheese, brunswick stew, collard greens, cornbread with blueberry, pecan pie bars, and chess cake. Brisket and ribs were spectacular: juicy, tender, perfectly smoked, and great flavor! Best sides to me were the cheesy grits, mac & cheese, collard greens, and blueberry cornbread. Wife really liked the chess cake.

    Super tender and flavorful brisket

There really isn't much to say. That place does BBQ RIGHT PERIOD. Pork Ribs 10/10. Brisket. 10/10 Flavor 10/10. Flavor. 10/10 Texture 10/10. Texture 10/10 Sauce 10/10. Seasoning 10/10 Mac & Cheese 11/10 Coleslaw 10/10 That damn BLUEBERRY CORNBREAD 15/10 Service WONDERFUL I truly didn't believe the hype. Well worh the wait. At a glance seemed crazy but the line truly flows. I love the little stop light information system they have on the wall. Anything in red light is sold out. Yellow light getting low and green light good to go. I absolutely positively will be returning to this place. Me and my kids enjoyed the food.

Are any of the meats here halal?

Is it black owned and cooked?? Because you know..,,,

Yes it is. But let me tell you, it's one of the best BBQ's I've ever had. Everett & Jones is a black owned restaurant I remember from Berkeley. I recently went to one of their franchises at a casino years later. The BBQ is not the same. Dry and not…

The structure: This neighborhood little sports bar is great! They have fun games for everyone…read moreincluding kids, lots of TVs and a big bar area. The FOOD: Not great at all...hardly even good. I don't think I have ever been to an establishment where everything that we ordered was pretty bad. We ordered chicken wings... half of the order was barbecue the other half was parmesan and herb. They were dry and the flavor was lacking in both. I also ordered their fried pickles. I didn't know it was possible to mess those up until the basket of yummy, flavorful pickles came and were completely wet and soggy with breading coming off of it. What a disappointment. My husband ordered the brisket sandwich with their cheesy potatoes. The waitress described it as like a fully loaded potato. That sounds yummy, only it wasn't. It was presented as partially mashed potatoes with chunks in it and the cheesy flavor was almost like the flavor from a packet of mac and cheese sauce. The sandwich was a flavorless tasting shredded barbecue. We asked for barbecue sauce to put on the sandwich and it tasted like somebody put vinegar and sugar in that sauce. I ordered the chopped BBQ sourdough bread sandwich and there's no way that was sourdough that I was eating but instead tasted like bread that was toasted. That was probably the best thing I ate was just the bread because the meat was as I described before no flavor and very disappointing. I also ordered fries and thought at least I can eat these but I was wrong. Even their frozen fries were lacking in flavor. We also both ordered iced tea and asked for yes, artificial sweetener and we were informed that they don't carry any. Just regular sugar. That was a first for me! Never ever been to any restaurant or eating establishment that didn't carry a variety of sugar for people who drink iced tea. It's unfortunate that everything my husband and I ordered was really bad. It almost was comical except that we paid $80 for that inedible food. The Service: Our server, Ana was awesome!! She was the only one taking care of everybody and she did it flawlessly. When we asked for extra sauce, she delivered it quickly. She was good about checking on all the customers even though there were only 4 of us in total. A family of 5 left 10 minutes after we arrived and 2 people sat at the bar 15 minutes after we ordered. She had a great attitude and smiled a lot. She said she was new to the job but her actions made it look as though she were a veteran. OVERALL: The service was great and the establishment itself is a great neighborhood sports bar hang out but the food was really really bad. It wouldn't have been a terrible thing if just one or maybe two items we ordered weren't that great but the fact that every single thing including the tea was bad, is the reason that we will not visit this place again. By the way, it took me a couple of weeks to write this, because I aim to see the good in everything. I do not like to receive negativity or give it. It was difficult to be that honest especially when other people in the reviews really liked the food. Good for them! I do hope that this place will have enough customers to stay open for a long time. I wish them the best of luck.

We saw the smoker in the front of the building. I do luv me some good ole BBQ. So off we went. We ordered a double down plate $26: two 7oz protein choices with cole slaw on brioche and an 8 oz side choice. Brisket and pulled pork were our protein choices with and potato salad. We bought another side, macaroni salad. We requested that the pulled pork be placed on the side and additional sauce. I dislike being that customer with persnickety preferences. But we were, and they didn't blink an eye. Super accommodating. The pulled pork had a deep smoky flavor. Tender shredded pieces. Mmm. The sauce was served on the side. That too was delicious. Hubs had the brisket and wolfed that down before I could swipe a piece. Darn. The potato salad was tasty. Slightly tangy, which I really liked. The place is family owned and operated. It's a sports bar and family friendly bbq joint. Giving off family friendly vibes. But hey, a bar and family friendly? Yes. They both co-exist harmoniously. Talking about sports. The TVs of course are tuned onto sports. All of the screens are strategically placed throughout. They even have framed signed football jerseys from USC Trojans, Denver Broncos, and 49ers to name a few. Pretty neat.

A true bang-for-your-buck kind of spot. I kept seeing people walk out with tray orders for takeout,…read moreand now I know why. They've got both quality and quantity. The pancit was a hitter, especially with the pork skewers and lechón. For around $30, you can get a tray that easily feeds 3-4 people. That's hard to beat. This is more of a wish than a complaint: if they ever did longaniza with garlic rice, or tocino as a breakfast option one day a week, I'd be first in line. There just aren't enough Filipino food spots around here. If you've never had Filipino food before, let me make it easy: First order: BBQ meat with rice and lumpia. Fifth order: Upgrade to adobo or sinigang. Tenth order: Get the halo-halo. You're in now. Friendly people, good portions, and real comfort food. Definitely worth checking out.

Because I wasn't that hungry, I asked if I could just order lechon (pork belly) by itself, but you have to order the Lechon Kawali Barkada platter for $30 so that's what I did. After a 15 minute wait, a half tray of pancit, lechon, chicken skewers, and lumpia rolls with sauces was set before me. While the menu says the platter serves 2-3 people, it's more like 4. Because the lechon and lumpia are served on top of the pancit, both were not as crispy as I would have liked, but everything tasted good. In addition to hot food, Kabayan also sells Filipino packaged snacks and canned food. For thirsty people, there's a water dispenser and cups. Kabayan is owned and operated by a husband and wife team and their menu changes daily.

We came in for a casual date night and had a great time! Prime time (6 on a Friday) the wait was…read moreonly about 15-20 minutes with plenty of room at the bar. There was plenty of seating on the shady patio, but it was really hot outside, so we opted to wait for a table inside. We had a drink and watched the NBA finals on the TVs (there was no sound so it wasn't noisy). I tried the Mustang Sally cocktail and it was well balanced and delicious! We were seated for dinner pretty quickly. The only problem I had was deciding what to order. The luau shrimp salad? Meatball sub? I finally decided on the lobster mac and cheese. While the portion wasn't large, it was delicious! Creamy and mild with fresh lobster (not fishy) and garlicy breadcrumbs. My husband got the ribeye and was thin but large with great seasoning and veggies. I'm not a big steak fan but I really liked it. We ended up grabbing some beignets to go for the kids, which were really tasty and came with 3 dipping sauces (our favorite was the Berry, although we ended up eating most of them without sauce). The atmosphere was upscale, but very casual, quiet and fun. We saw families with young children, couples on dates, and friends enjoying a meal together. It was the perfect vibe that we were looking for, comfortable, but classy. And the food was high-quality and tasty. We will definitely be back!

Upon entering, the hostess with the brown curly hair was noticeably rude and unwelcoming, which isn't the first impression you'd hope for when celebrating a special occasion. The food, however, was outstanding and was definitely the highlight of the evening. Every dish we ordered was well-prepared and delicious. Service was a mixed experience. While our server was polite, the service was quite slow throughout the meal, despite the restaurant being fairly empty at the time. Overall, the excellent food helped make up for some of the service issues, but the rude greeting and slow service took away from what should have been a memorable anniversary dinner. I hope management addresses these concerns, as the kitchen is clearly doing a great job.

Customer service is still great, very nice and approachable. And food is top-notch for the price. Only issue was the egg over hard again, which was significantly better the 2nd time, but still had a little runny yolk. My wife likes her eggs borderline burnt, to the point its almost rubbery. Basically the consistency of an egg McMuffin egg from McDonald's... something Gordon Ramsey would throw a fit over :)

First impressions after ordering, dirty, bathrooms were dirty, pieces toilet paper scattered on the floor, water spots all over the mirror. A table when I exited the bathroom had bird poop on it. We opted to sit outside, tables dirty, umbrellas filthy, we chose the least dirty table to sit at. Now to the food. I had the classic burger, looked ok when it arrived but it was not special at all, in fact if I had to vote, it would be the worst burger in town. It was spongy, texture was weird and it had no flavor (salt is your friend guys). I ate about half of it and could eat no more. I actually felt sick after eating it. There are better options near by, I would skip this place.

Also, a teriyaki chicken plate and it was delicious. I took some leftovers to work the next day and everyone commented how good my food smells when I went to reheat it so I had to brag where I got it. It made me realize that I want to re order again for tomorrow as well. Great environment for a quick eat in folsom with friendly staff. I'll be back soon!

We decided to try something local and came across Big Island Hawaiian BBQ, which was a close enough drive from where we live so we figured, why not give this spot a try? Overall, we had a really great first experience. The quality of the food stood out right away as everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. We were honestly very impressed with how good everything tasted. Even though the portions aren't as packed as some other Hawaiian BBQ spots, the food absolutely hits all the Hawaiian flavors and cravings we love, and we left very satisfied. The pricing was decent (slightly cheaper than other Hawaiian food spots), the interior was clean and well-kept, and I appreciated the designated sauce station on top of having sauces at each table for convenience. To top it all off, the Pineapple Dole Whip was the perfect dessert as it was light, refreshing, and such a great finishing touch. Another big thing to note is that they offer Musubi Mondays, where you can get 50% off musubis. My husband immediately noticed the sign for it in the front of the store and was so excited. We thought how it was such a sweet deal that we are already considering coming back on a Monday just for that to stock up on musubis to eat at home. However, there is a max of 2 orders per customer for the Musubi Monday deal, but still totally worth it to try. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is purely because of portion size compared to other Hawaiian places. The spam musubis are also a bit small in size compared to other places that make spam musubi but the teriyaki sauce that goes with it makes it better! That said, the quality, taste, and overall experience definitely make up for it! This is officially going to be our new go-to spot for Hawaiian food moving forward, and we're excited to come back again soon!
