    PT.1 THE LINE IS OUT THE DOOR!! Easy to find. Just look for the line. It moves in spurts. The smell is delightful. Will update once I get my order. PT. 2 We took the order to-go. This way I could concentrate on what I was eating. So let's start by saying everything I tasted was absolutely delicious! The brisket was very tender, melting in your mouth, easy to maneuver meat. I got the mild sausage, that was just right for me, of course my WIFE got the spicier one and she said it was real good. They had a per half pound option, they had sides, and per plate options The people in the restaurant seem super happy and pleased with all their food. I heard that one complaint, and there isn't one for me. I'm glad I don't have to go to Arkansas or Texas... Which was the last places I had good barbecue. The absolute most friendly family. They were all working very hard, and it looks like they've created something good for themselves. Marcus, was a super solid person. Came out to meet guests check the temperature of the restaurant to make sure everyone was happy. And was even making sure all of the warmers were full of food. I'll be back to visit them again. Folsom, you have a great barbecue spot in your area.

    Checked out for first time as early fathers day lunch Saturday at 11. Was shocked by the line wrapping around the building before they opened! Once the door opened staff kept coming out and were very focused on keeping an opening in the line for the Taqueria next door. When we got inside there is a small eating area and I was surprised to see some were still available. Probably took about 20 min for us to get to the counter. All the staff were friendly. Ordered 2x 3 person trays (sub out turkey): brisket, ribs, bourbon pork belly, spicy sausage, cheesy grits, slaw, Mac & cheese, brunswick stew, collard greens, cornbread with blueberry, pecan pie bars, and chess cake. Brisket and ribs were spectacular: juicy, tender, perfectly smoked, and great flavor! Best sides to me were the cheesy grits, mac & cheese, collard greens, and blueberry cornbread. Wife really liked the chess cake.

    Long wait for great quality bbq. Small dine in area but you will get a seat. Owner is super down to earth always checking on his customers. Good thing they aren't open more or I'd be here more My fav is the brisket, turkey and ribs. Love their Mac and cheese, coleslaw and beans. The cookies are consistently good and the pecan pie bar is perfection. Can't wait to come back

    Came to area for a blood draw at Quest. Saw the line at Belly and, since I'd been fasting since yesterday, I decided to get in line to try BBQ. The temp was about 96 degrees. After 47 minutes in line, I finally entered the restaurant. There was no water for people waiting in the heat for so long. Some were obviously handicapped and it would have shown some thoughtfulness for their visitors had they had water outside OR made it clear that there was water available just to nauseate door. Thankfully, I brought my own water. After I got to the counter to order, I ordered the Tray for 2-3: brisket, ribs, turkey. Swapped turkey for add'l ribs. 2 sides and I added a third: Mac n cheese, slaw, baked beans. Sacramento, IMHO, is a BBQ desert. Having lived in the Midwest (St Louis) for forty years, I KNOW good BBQ. The best I've found in the area is in Placerville. I brisket! When I find it, it usually had all of the fat cut off. That is where the flavor lies. The next place that has a decent BBQ in the area is Bear West. However, they can be inconsistent with the tenderness of their ribs. They also don't serve brisket. I go to BBQ joints for the MEAT. If the sides are good, that's wonderful. At Belly BBQ, the brisket was definitely to my liking: smoky, with a nice well cooked fat cap and tender. The sauce enhanced the flavor of the meat. I would order it again. The ribs were also tasty, though a bit chewy on parts of the ribs. The Pitmaster obviously is passionate about desire to create good BBQ. I welcome his talents to Sacramento and hope that he'll grow his restaurant. Unfortunately, I was not so pleased with the sides. It's about personal tastes and while I ate them all, I would not order any of them again. I had the slaw (too dry) Mac n cheese (mushy and not very cheesy) and baked beans (would have like a bit more flavor/seasoning).They offered pickled onions and cucumbers. That was a nice and delicious touch. Dessert also was a part of this choice and I got the lemon pound cake. They also offered Cheesy Grits, collard greens and Brunswick Stew. I would try them next time though I don't think it will be soon. I don't like the wait time for entry. The dining area is quite small and was full. The "service area" where one gets utensils, plates, extra sauce is not big at all and difficult to access while holding your bag to go. I would order meat only and take it home to my own sides. A kind man seated at a table next to this station saw me struggling and offered to hold my bag and then invited me to sit at their table, which I did. I encourage those who love BBQ to try to visit during one of the 11 hours this operation is open during the week. As for me, I'll wait to return when they have kinder hours of operation or it is cooler. I spoke with the owner briefly. He said they will put water out next weekend. Read his story.     There really isn't much to say. That place does BBQ RIGHT PERIOD. Pork Ribs 10/10. Brisket. 10/10 Flavor 10/10. Flavor. 10/10 Texture 10/10. Texture 10/10 Sauce 10/10. Seasoning 10/10 Mac & Cheese 11/10 Coleslaw 10/10 That damn BLUEBERRY CORNBREAD 15/10 Service WONDERFUL I truly didn't believe the hype. Well worh the wait. At a glance seemed crazy but the line truly flows. I love the little stop light information system they have on the wall. Anything in red light is sold out. Yellow light getting low and green light good to go. I absolutely positively will be returning to this place. Me and my kids enjoyed the food.

    When we read reviews, the bottom line is we wanna know if this is a place that we should try. Belly barbecue should be on your radar, and yes, the bottom line is you want this!! Here's why- This is a family owned business nestled in the heart of Folsom. Definitely not a place that you would necessarily expect to find a BBQ joint, but absolutely a reason for you to travel here, drive here, wherever you are, you should definitely fill your belly here. The brisket, the beef and pork ribs, the turkey, and the links are all smoked on site and big barrel smokers. Everything is made in house. The greens, the mac & cheese, the cornbread, the beans, and the dessert desserts! What should you order? Anything and everything, but you absolutely will want the brisket. That is how you know that the food is THAT good. They offer the fatty cut and the lean cut. I would definitely go for both, but I personally like the fatty cut. It's perfectly smoked. The meat is flavorful, tender, lightly seasoned, and truly a perfect smoke. The pork ribs are tender, slightly peppered, and really tasty. The sausage comes a couple different ways, and I went for the mild. It's served sliced, and you know it's going to be good because when you bite into it, you still get that snap from the skin. What sides should you get? The beans, greens and blueberry cornbread. If you're dining with someone, you can order the 2-3 platter and make some adjustments. If you're dining alone, get this anyway because you're going to want leftovers. This is another great way to tell the quality of the food. It's one thing to enjoy it when you're dining, but when you have the leftovers and they taste even better... You know you've scored! The beans are amazing! So incredibly flavorful, filled with chunks of meat, you might even spot a veggie or two in there, and they are so incredibly perfectly seasoned. Literally the best beans I've had in a restaurant. The blueberry cornbread. Before you make a face or question my sanity, not only what you want this, but you should get an extra slice to have with your leftovers at home. Yes, it's cornbread, but it taste more like a lighter version of cake. It's not gritty, it's moist, and the blueberries just elevate the cornbread. The greens. If you love greens, and like me, you've been hard-pressed to find a restaurant that can make them correctly, look no further. Another sign that the food is delicious, when you eat the greens as leftovers/on the second day, and they're even better than they were on day one. I'm telling you this is magic! Their desserts are pretty legit, and that banana pudding is lighter than air and is absolutely delicious. Diners tip: they open at 11 AM, and people were lined up at 9:30 am waiting to get in to order food for either dine in, or take away. The line stayed at least 50 people deep during our dining experience, and I would imagine it stayed that way until they closed. Belly BBQ has been opened going on two years, and if they are not on your radar, they should be! Go get your smoked meat game on!

    Had a chance to try this fabulous BBQ. Brisket, Ribs, Sausage was all great, as well as the sides of Baked Beans, Mac n Cheese, and Slaw. Blueberry cornbread was heavy on blueberries but was quite tasty. The 2 standouts to me, were the Banana Pudding and surprisingly, the Turkey. The Turkey was ll I mp, juicy and more tasty than any Turkey I have ever had . Service was friendly and prompt. It isnt a large area to sit and eat, and with the short window of operational hours, the Restaurant lends itself more to an an order to go kind of place

    The hubster and I FINALLY made it to Belly Barbeque! I was so sad to have been out of town for the Yelp Elite Event here. We stopped by yesterday and the line was crazy, so we decided to come today before they opened. Was there still a line before they opened? Yes. We waited about 40 minutes...but it was worth it! We ordered the Feeds 2-3 Tray that comes with 1/2 lb of Brisket, 1/2 lb of Port Ribs, 1/4 lb of Turkey Breast, two sides (we chose baked beans and cheesy grits), and a dessert (we chose chess cake). You can smell Belly Barbecue's deliciousness from outside and once you walk in that only intensifies! Everything is cooked to mouth-watering perfection! Their portions are ample. There is plenty to share and the 2-3 platter will feed our family for two sittings. The hubster and MIL raved about their baked beans and I was in heaven with the cheesiness of the grits...YUM! Also, the option today for the blueberry cornbread was fabulous! Their servers are friendly, work hard, and deliver up the smiles. Inside there are seating options for small and medium sized groups. We took ours home to eat and the food traveled excellently! Please note Belly Barbecue does have limited days and hours, so plan accordingly and do not let the lines discourage you if you arrive early enough...you will leave fed, happy, and satisfied! Thank you Belly Barbecue for your exquisite nosh! My palate and belly are exceedingly happy and you WILL see us again...VERY soon!!!

    In search of a new bbq place to find near by Sacramento I was lucky enough to stumble upon belly barbecue. Highly rated and well worth the reviews as well. Restaurant opens at 11am and closes at 3 or until they run out of food. Got there around 10:30 AM and the line was already wrapped around the corner. Finally made it inside by 11:40 AM. Long line, yes but moves fairly quickly. Owner was super sweet as he had a cooler full of water outside for everyone waiting. Once inside we ordered a tray that could feed 2-3 people easily. Ended up ordering the bbq ribs, brisket, bourbon pork belly, corn bread, baked beans, mac and cheese, hot link sausage and house made pickles. All in all I'm big on brisket and I have to say I would rate it a strong 9/10! Super juicy, tender and great taste. Definitely quality food. The regular bbq sauce was the better than the hot bbq sauce. The hot link sausage had a nice kick to it. I would still prefer it to be a tad bit more spicier but that's just me. The bourbon pork belly was a game changer! A solid 9.5/10! Would definitely go back for that. As far as the facility itself, a few tables inside with a water station, a station for cutlery, napkins, to go boxes and lids for containers. The tables and chairs were pretty sticky so just be cautious and be prepared to wipe it down before you take a seat.

    Food was phenomenal. Line was out the door for July 4th. Ribs, dino rib, brisket and turkey! Everything was juicy! I wasn't a fan of the pork belly as I like them to be sweet but they were tendaaa. The slaw is dry and i prefer wet. The owners are super awesome. Go early people they sell out.

    Amazing BBQ with top notch customer service. The owner took time out of his busy day to come over and check on how our visit was. It was super a super genuine interaction and I can't say how much I hope his business succeeds going forward. My dad and I made the 30 minute drive to Belly BBQ. We were looking forward to this meal all day. It did not disappoint! Totally exceeded my expectations. Their menu is straightforward. You've got your meats, sides and a couple desserts. Their 3 day hours of operation schedule allow for them to focus on perfecting their craft, and it's working. Line took about 20 minutes to get to the front. But the food was absolutely worth the wait. The Mac and cheese here was phenomenal. Not just creamy and cheesy but the flavors were deep and rich. The cheesy grits hit the high mark for me. I had only eaten grits once before and wasn't very impressed. The grits at Belly BBQ however changed my whole perspective on the classic southern dish. I'm craving some now and will be ordering the grits with every future visit. The BBQ here is done perfectly. We got the 2-3 person tray which was $55. Came with pork ribs, brisket, smoked turkey and the two sides I mentioned earlier. We also added two spicy sausages. This was a ton of food. Everything was delicious. I especially loved the smoked turkey. It was so bomb. Place is relatively small. Most people got their orders to go. No TV's, tables were very clean. The one bathroom they have was clean as well. I'll be back to have my fiancee try it and my dad has already volunteered to join us. It was a nice lunch with my pops, I'm glad Belly BBQ was able to deliver on the great food.

    I was finally able to try them out since I was already in the area. I heard they can get busy fast so I was there at 10:30 roughly 30 minutes before opening. There was already someone else first in line waiting which wasn't bad until right before opening when a bunch of their friends showed up and essentially skipped the line that got much longer as time went on. This is nothing against the business but it was annoying since they took longer to order because what started as 1 person in line before me at 10:30 turned into a group of 5 or 6 as the restaurant opened. However, even with that slight annoyance, the food and service were good. I'll admit that I was a little skeptical after seeing some pictures online about the portions that looked smaller but they actually looked bigger in person. I ordered a beef rib as well as the 2-3 person tray and added a sausage to try almost everything since I'm never in that area and wasn't sure if I'd be back anytime soon. Most of the meat was good flavor wise but I'll admit the pork ribs and beef rib were tougher for me to chew compared to other places. There were plenty of leftovers as I only tried a few bites of everything before packing it up and bringing it back to my family. My biggest issue with this place, as well as most other BBQ places in the Sacramento area, is their pricing. One single beef rib was $40 and the tray for 2-3 people was $55. The sausage was $7 so I spent over $100 to try a little bit of everything. Meanwhile, at somewhere else like Bear West BBQ, I could get a 4 meat tray with 2 sides and cornbread for less than $40. Speaking of cornbread, I'm surprised it wasn't included with any of the trays here although I got a piece of blueberry cornbread in substitution for one of their desserts which was nice of them to let me do. Another annoying issue is they're only open for a few hours from late morning to early afternoon Friday through Sunday. I'm sure they make enough money during those limited hours based on the overwhelming hype and support I've seen for them online. But if you aren't there well before they open, expect to wait in a ridiculously long line with the risk of certain items running out. Overall, I'd say I enjoyed the food I had here. However, between the higher prices, long lines and limited hours, I probably won't be in a rush or make a special trip just to come back here. I might just stick with a single item plate next time after being able to try almost everything else today and not needing to do that again in the future.

    First - A word of warning. You WILL be waiting to get in, period. They open at 11, I got there around 12:45 (first time) and got in the door around 90 min later and another probably 20 min inside. While outside, we kept getting updates from the staff as to what was GONE. First it was the beef ribs and cornbread, and it got worse from there. But luckily for me :) What I was wanting was still there by the time I reached the cutting board. Brisket, pulled pork and house made sausage (what was left) some baked beans and a slice of cheesecake. I have a simple guide on bbq. Does the meat taste good with NOTHING added to it. No sauce, nothing dumped on it. I want to taste what the owner wanted me to taste without dousing it with sauce. I was NOT disappointed. The Brisket, falls apart with the slightest tug, the pulled pork, You don't need anything added, moist without greasy. The regular sausage (they have spicy as well) was a perfect level of heat for me. And the sauce was a nice touch - not the cover. While enjoying my meal back at the house - My BBQ inspector was hoping for a piece.. Not happening. Kudos to the staff for handling what I'm sure is a non-stop flow of customers while they slowly run out of items. Keep that in mind when showing up and waiting. Get there late, well.... They are only open for 3 days a week and only 4 hours a day at that. Will HAPPILY return, well done folks.. I made sure to get enough to supply my lunches for the next few days. Make that wait worth while.

The lobster bites came with a lemon wedge and their house Thousand Island sauce, and that sauce was incredible. The combination of the crispy lobster, lemon, and sauce worked perfectly together. The broccolini was also seasoned really well and paired nicely with the grilled lemon. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was one of the smoothest I've had. One detail I loved was that they stamped the restaurant's logo into the ice cube. Small touch, but really cool. For my main course, I ordered the Grilled Huli Huli Chicken with a crispy rice cake, pineapple, greens, and a house sauce that completely made the dish. The sweet and tangy flavor paired perfectly with the chicken. Me and my girlfriend also shared the mac and cheese, and honestly, this was one of the best mac and cheeses I've had. It was rich, creamy, well-seasoned, and the breadcrumbs on top added the perfect texture. My girlfriend ordered the braised short rib with garlic mashed potatoes and carrot purée. The short rib was so tender it practically fell apart with a fork. Everything on the plate was delicious. One thing that surprised me was the portion sizes. Everything was very filling, and we ended up taking some food home. By the time dessert came around, we were already pretty full, but there was no way we were skipping it. To finish the night, we shared the Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and strawberries. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant was busy and lively, but it never felt crowded. The tables were spaced out really well, so my girlfriend and I could still enjoy our conversation and watch the basketball game. I also appreciated seeing Chef Q and his wife walking around and checking on guests throughout the night. They stopped by tables to see how everyone was enjoying their food, which was a really nice touch. I even had the chance to take a picture with Chef Q before we left, which was super cool. Between the food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail, this is easily one of the top restaurants I've been to in Sacramento. Definitely worth a visit.

When we arrived on a Monday, the restaurant wasn't crowded, so we expected attentive service. We were seated, our server came over for drinks, and we let him know we were celebrating my aunt's birthday. This restaurant usually has a nice way of acknowledging birthdays, so we were looking forward to that, but it never happened. We ordered the lobster bites, and they were outstanding as always. My mom, who is allergic to seafood, started feeling a little nauseous from the smell and asked our server for some lemons. He walked away, and we never saw him again. After waiting for quite a while, we asked another server, who brought them over immediately. Our salads and soup were delivered by a food runner, and once again, our server was nowhere to be found. I eventually had to flag down the manager just to have our appetizer and soup plates cleared from the table. Our entrees arrived, the server asked how everything was, and then disappeared again. The next time we saw him was when he dropped off the check. What made it even more frustrating was watching him repeatedly check on, laugh with, and chat with the table behind us while barely acknowledging ours. We completely understand that restaurants get busy and servers can get overwhelmed, but that didn't seem to be the case here. For a $300 dinner for four people at an upscale restaurant, I expected a much higher level of service. The manager did remove our desserts from the bill, and I appreciate that gesture, but I honestly felt more should have been done once it was clear how neglected our table had been. The biggest disappointment is that the food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was delicious, which made the lack of service stand out even more. This has always been one of my favorite locations, so I truly hope this was just an off night.
