There really isn't much to say. That place does BBQ RIGHT PERIOD. Pork Ribs 10/10. Brisket. 10/10 Flavor 10/10. Flavor. 10/10 Texture 10/10. Texture 10/10 Sauce 10/10. Seasoning 10/10 Mac & Cheese 11/10 Coleslaw 10/10 That damn BLUEBERRY CORNBREAD 15/10 Service WONDERFUL I truly didn't believe the hype. Well worh the wait. At a glance seemed crazy but the line truly flows. I love the little stop light information system they have on the wall. Anything in red light is sold out. Yellow light getting low and green light good to go. I absolutely positively will be returning to this place. Me and my kids enjoyed the food.

When we read reviews, the bottom line is we wanna know if this is a place that we should try. Belly barbecue should be on your radar, and yes, the bottom line is you want this!! Here's why- This is a family owned business nestled in the heart of Folsom. Definitely not a place that you would necessarily expect to find a BBQ joint, but absolutely a reason for you to travel here, drive here, wherever you are, you should definitely fill your belly here. The brisket, the beef and pork ribs, the turkey, and the links are all smoked on site and big barrel smokers. Everything is made in house. The greens, the mac & cheese, the cornbread, the beans, and the dessert desserts! What should you order? Anything and everything, but you absolutely will want the brisket. That is how you know that the food is THAT good. They offer the fatty cut and the lean cut. I would definitely go for both, but I personally like the fatty cut. It's perfectly smoked. The meat is flavorful, tender, lightly seasoned, and truly a perfect smoke. The pork ribs are tender, slightly peppered, and really tasty. The sausage comes a couple different ways, and I went for the mild. It's served sliced, and you know it's going to be good because when you bite into it, you still get that snap from the skin. What sides should you get? The beans, greens and blueberry cornbread. If you're dining with someone, you can order the 2-3 platter and make some adjustments. If you're dining alone, get this anyway because you're going to want leftovers. This is another great way to tell the quality of the food. It's one thing to enjoy it when you're dining, but when you have the leftovers and they taste even better... You know you've scored! The beans are amazing! So incredibly flavorful, filled with chunks of meat, you might even spot a veggie or two in there, and they are so incredibly perfectly seasoned. Literally the best beans I've had in a restaurant. The blueberry cornbread. Before you make a face or question my sanity, not only what you want this, but you should get an extra slice to have with your leftovers at home. Yes, it's cornbread, but it taste more like a lighter version of cake. It's not gritty, it's moist, and the blueberries just elevate the cornbread. The greens. If you love greens, and like me, you've been hard-pressed to find a restaurant that can make them correctly, look no further. Another sign that the food is delicious, when you eat the greens as leftovers/on the second day, and they're even better than they were on day one. I'm telling you this is magic! Their desserts are pretty legit, and that banana pudding is lighter than air and is absolutely delicious. Diners tip: they open at 11 AM, and people were lined up at 9:30 am waiting to get in to order food for either dine in, or take away. The line stayed at least 50 people deep during our dining experience, and I would imagine it stayed that way until they closed. Belly BBQ has been opened going on two years, and if they are not on your radar, they should be! Go get your smoked meat game on!

Had a chance to try this fabulous BBQ. Brisket, Ribs, Sausage was all great, as well as the sides of Baked Beans, Mac n Cheese, and Slaw. Blueberry cornbread was heavy on blueberries but was quite tasty. The 2 standouts to me, were the Banana Pudding and surprisingly, the Turkey. The Turkey was ll I mp, juicy and more tasty than any Turkey I have ever had . Service was friendly and prompt. It isnt a large area to sit and eat, and with the short window of operational hours, the Restaurant lends itself more to an an order to go kind of place

The hubster and I FINALLY made it to Belly Barbeque! I was so sad to have been out of town for the Yelp Elite Event here. We stopped by yesterday and the line was crazy, so we decided to come today before they opened. Was there still a line before they opened? Yes. We waited about 40 minutes...but it was worth it! We ordered the Feeds 2-3 Tray that comes with 1/2 lb of Brisket, 1/2 lb of Port Ribs, 1/4 lb of Turkey Breast, two sides (we chose baked beans and cheesy grits), and a dessert (we chose chess cake). You can smell Belly Barbecue's deliciousness from outside and once you walk in that only intensifies! Everything is cooked to mouth-watering perfection! Their portions are ample. There is plenty to share and the 2-3 platter will feed our family for two sittings. The hubster and MIL raved about their baked beans and I was in heaven with the cheesiness of the grits...YUM! Also, the option today for the blueberry cornbread was fabulous! Their servers are friendly, work hard, and deliver up the smiles. Inside there are seating options for small and medium sized groups. We took ours home to eat and the food traveled excellently! Please note Belly Barbecue does have limited days and hours, so plan accordingly and do not let the lines discourage you if you arrive early enough...you will leave fed, happy, and satisfied! Amazing BBQ with top notch customer service. The owner took time out of his busy day to come over and check on how our visit was. It was super a super genuine interaction and I can't say how much I hope his business succeeds going forward. My dad and I made the 30 minute drive to Belly BBQ. We were looking forward to this meal all day. It did not disappoint! Totally exceeded my expectations. Their menu is straightforward. You've got your meats, sides and a couple desserts. Their 3 day hours of operation schedule allow for them to focus on perfecting their craft, and it's working. Line took about 20 minutes to get to the front. But the food was absolutely worth the wait. The Mac and cheese here was phenomenal. Not just creamy and cheesy but the flavors were deep and rich. The cheesy grits hit the high mark for me. I had only eaten grits once before and wasn't very impressed. The grits at Belly BBQ however changed my whole perspective on the classic southern dish. I'm craving some now and will be ordering the grits with every future visit. The BBQ here is done perfectly. We got the 2-3 person tray which was $55. Came with pork ribs, brisket, smoked turkey and the two sides I mentioned earlier. We also added two spicy sausages. This was a ton of food. Everything was delicious. I especially loved the smoked turkey. It was so bomb. Place is relatively small. Most people got their orders to go. No TV's, tables were very clean. The one bathroom they have was clean as well. I'll be back to have my fiancee try it and my dad has already volunteered to join us. It was a nice lunch with my pops, I'm glad Belly BBQ was able to deliver on the great food.

The food was absolutely delicious. For Father's Day, all my hubby wanted was some good bbq. So we waited in a very long line and the food didn't disappoint. Definitely the meats were the highlight. The cornbreads were sold out so we didn't get to try those. The jalapeno poppers were very good but the rest of the sides were just average. Will be back for some more meat and hopefully a chance at some cornbread.

I was finally able to try them out since I was already in the area. I heard they can get busy fast so I was there at 10:30 roughly 30 minutes before opening. There was already someone else first in line waiting which wasn't bad until right before opening when a bunch of their friends showed up and essentially skipped the line that got much longer as time went on. This is nothing against the business but it was annoying since they took longer to order because what started as 1 person in line before me at 10:30 turned into a group of 5 or 6 as the restaurant opened. However, even with that slight annoyance, the food and service were good. I'll admit that I was a little skeptical after seeing some pictures online about the portions that looked smaller but they actually looked bigger in person. I ordered a beef rib as well as the 2-3 person tray and added a sausage to try almost everything since I'm never in that area and wasn't sure if I'd be back anytime soon. Most of the meat was good flavor wise but I'll admit the pork ribs and beef rib were tougher for me to chew compared to other places. There were plenty of leftovers as I only tried a few bites of everything before packing it up and bringing it back to my family. My biggest issue with this place, as well as most other BBQ places in the Sacramento area, is their pricing. One single beef rib was $40 and the tray for 2-3 people was $55. The sausage was $7 so I spent over $100 to try a little bit of everything. Meanwhile, at somewhere else like Bear West BBQ, I could get a 4 meat tray with 2 sides and cornbread for less than $40. Speaking of cornbread, I'm surprised it wasn't included with any of the trays here although I got a piece of blueberry cornbread in substitution for one of their desserts which was nice of them to let me do. Another annoying issue is they're only open for a few hours from late morning to early afternoon Friday through Sunday. I'm sure they make enough money during those limited hours based on the overwhelming hype and support I've seen for them online. But if you aren't there well before they open, expect to wait in a ridiculously long line with the risk of certain items running out. Overall, I'd say I enjoyed the food I had here. However, between the higher prices, long lines and limited hours, I probably won't be in a rush or make a special trip just to come back here. I might just stick with a single item plate next time after being able to try almost everything else today and not needing to do that again in the future.

Believe the hype! This is easily some of the best barbecue you can get in the greater Sacramento area. From the crack of the sausage casing to the, perfect amount of tenderness on the ribs to the moistness of the brisket this is barbecue done right. There was a line out the door but things moved quickly. It took us maybe 15 minutes to reach the front of the line and it was only another minute or two before we had our food. The interior is sparsely decorated hut is buzzing with energy. Happy customers and helpful staff create a great vibe. I will absolutely be back.

I have heard good things about this place for a while and finally had a chance to check it out. They are only open Friday through Sunday from 11 AM to around 2 or 3 PM, but the wait was definitely worth it. We ordered the Tray for 2-3, which comes with 1/2 pound of brisket, 1/2 pound of pork ribs, 1/4 pound of sliced turkey, two sides, and a dessert for $55. The sliced turkey was moist and flavorful. The pork ribs were very good as well, and the brisket was my favorite. For the sides, we ordered the cornbread and mac and cheese. The cornbread was pretty standard, next time I might upgrade to the blueberry cornbread. The mac and cheese was very good, much better than a basic mac and cheese you get at some other places. The tray was very filling and easily fed me, my wife, and my son. They also offer a variety of sauces that you can try. My wife liked their mild sauce, while I preferred the sweet barbecue sauce. Although the meats were very good, even without the sauces. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I'll be coming back here again.

Stopped by Belly Barbecue in Folsom around noon on a busy weekend. The place is small and fills up fast--the line was out the door when we arrived--but it moved quickly, and we found a table easily once we had our trays. We ordered the pork ribs, pork belly, and brisket, and all three were excellent. The ribs had great flavor and tender texture, the pork belly was rich and well-smoked, and the brisket was juicy with solid smoke. Sides were strong too--mac and cheese was creamy and very good (our 5-year-old loved it and finished his ribs quickly), and the slaw was fresh and crunchy.

I finally got to try Belly BBQ. The store is a decent size and staff was super friendly. The owner even came out to greet us and ask us about the food. I got the Serves 2-3 and it definitely made all 3 of us content with the add on of a sausage. The store itself got super busy right when it opened at 11am so I can see it is a crowd favorite. Brisket - I got all fatty and would definitely recommend that route! It was tender Pork belly - held its shape, good smoke, and good flavor Sausage - I got the regular since I don't like spice and it was a bit dry. It had a decent smoke flavor but did not stand out. Pork Rib - the crust was a tad salty. It was also a little dry and tough. Pecan Bar - sweet, buttery pecan flavor. Felt one dimensional Overall, it was not bad but would not go out of my way to get it again. I would want to give it a solid 3.5 stars if I could.

This has become my son's favorite BBQ place in a 50mile radius. And since he prefers not to eat alone, I love tagging along. The brisket was perfect, the Mac and cheese was good and the cornbread was very good. The line can be long when they first open, but the service line is very efficient and they get through the line quickly. The portion size is just about absolutely perfect. I ordered the tray for one with mac & cheese as my side and ordered an extra piece of cornbread. The key here is to eat and get out since there are usually people waiting for your table. If you're coming here to sit and talk with friends for a while, this probably is not the place for you.

We found this place while doing our blood work from Quest next door. When we went, their brisket was sold out so we were bummed that we didn't get to try one of their best popular meat. We end up ordering the tray with pork ribs, beef ribs, turkey, mac and cheese, blueberry cornbread, and a chocolate cookie. Our favorites were the beef ribs and blueberry cornbread. The beef ribs fall off the bone and the cornbread was super moist inside and not dry at all. Staffs were all super friends and helpful.

Solid bbq. The grits and the chili was a bomb combo. Corn bread both delicious , Mac full of flavor and saucy. Fast service. Line was out the door and probably took us ~20-25 mins from start of wait to the time we paid for our food. Very quick. Paid 59$ for 1/2 lb of brisket, 1/2 lb of chopped pork, slice original corn bread, slice of blueberry cornbread, 6oz Mac n cheese, 6oz cheesy gritz, 6oz chili w complimentary pickles/pickled onion. Belly bbq is the best there is in the entire sacramento area. Family owned and operated, absolutely delicious, and never disappoints. Their brisket and pork belly is some of the best I've had. This place is outstanding, and you definitely want to arrive a few minutes before they open--the line is long and stays that way until they close or sell out. We tried a bit of everything since it's known for having some of the best BBQ around, and it did not disappoint. The pork belly was probably my favorite--so flavorful and delicious. Was super excited to check this spot out. Right now they're only open on the weekends and close once they sell out. Luckily there was no line when we went, as I've heard sometimes there will be a line wrapping around the building. Quick and friendly service! My friend and I shared the tray that can feed 2-3 people for $55. You get 1/2 lb brisket, 1/2 lb pork ribs, 1/4 turkey, your choice of 2 sides and choice of dessert. What a great deal and we had so much food still left over. Everything was so good, juicy & packed with flavor. My favorites had to be the pork ribs, Mac and cheese and Brunswick stew. Let me tell you--this place is absolutely out of this world. The brisket was unbelievably juicy and tender; the moment I picked it up, it just fell apart. And the mac and cheese? Unreal. The BBQ itself was 4/5, good for California, above average for smoked meats in California. It was better than Poor Reds BBQ, but Yelp overhyped it. I was given the wrong sides, which was ok, because I didn't realize they had Banana pudding and that was on point. The staff need better training. The other sides dissapointed. I have been a KCBS-certified BBQ judge for a number of years, and I have judged BBQ competitions in half a dozen states. I have had the pleasure of eating BBQ at the top BBQ restaurants in Dallas and Houston, as well as Little Miss BBQ in Phoenix and my go-to hometown spot, Smoque. I can tell you that without question, Belly Barbecue deserves to be at the top of any list of the best BBQ restaurants in the country. We were visiting Folsom to see family for the holidays, and thank goodness I had checked Yelp for possible new BBQ openings since our last trip. I could see the nearly solid 5-star reviews and pictures for Belly, and I correctly thought this was going to be something special. With our other commitments and Belly's few days of business each week, I was only able to be there once. I had assembled 7 family members at their home for a feast, and on Saturday, 12/21, I picked up an uncut 4.5 lb brisket, 2 slabs of ribs, mild and hot sausage, mac & cheese, baked beans, and cornbread. We also took home plenty of both the mild and spicy BBQ sauces. The brisket was nothing short of amazing. The melt-in-the-mouth tenderness, the smoke flavor, the char - all perfect. If you don't think you've ever had a chance to sample some of the best brisket in the country, now you can. The ribs were competition-worthy - not fall-off-the-bone, but tender, juicy, and flavorful with or without the delicious BBQ sauce produced by the owner/pitmaster Marcus. If Belly's BBQ sauce was bottled and available in grocery stores, it would be the only brand I would ever purchase. The sausage was popping with flavor and enjoyed by everyone in the family. We had the pleasure of speaking with Marcus during our visit. We also met his mother, a delightful lady who assured us she taught Marcus everything he knows about BBQ. Marcus' friend Ryan gave us a sneak peek at the huge smokers Marcus has going in the back. I heard a suggestion that Marcus is planning on expanding to Fridays, and I hope he does. Currently, he's only open on weekends from 11 am until he runs out of food to sell. We showed up on Saturday before 11, and a line had already begun. By the time we left with our order, the small restaurant was packed, and the line was long. This has been one of the easiest 5-star reviews I've ever written. I posted a request on the Nextdoor app for our community looking for some great Barbecue close to home. A few recommendations came in including Belly Barbecue. I took a quick look online and saw they were mainly open on the weekend. We decided to drive down on Saturday afternoon to check it out. It's a short distance from main freeways and Historic Folsom. A small but bustling place. The service was courteous and genuine. The barbecue was absolutely amazing! We were not expecting it to be that good. So glad we have a goto place for excellent Southern BBQ. read more

I ordered the Bourbon Pork Belly, mac and cheese, collard greens, baked beans, and cornbread. It was a solid meal from start to finish. The pork belly was incredibly juicy and flavorful, with a peach glaze on the side that added just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the meat. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, and I was especially impressed with the collard greens. I'm pretty picky when it comes to collard greens but these were so good! The baked beans were hearty and satisfying, though the cornbread was a little dry for my taste. Still, the overall quality of the food made up for it. The staff were friendly, quick, and seemed to genuinely enjoy working there, which made the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Condiments are self-serve on the side, which is convenient. They don't do pickup orders right now, and it's first come, first served. They're only open Friday through Sunday, which is a bit limiting, but honestly, it makes for a great weekend treat. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but I think the quality of the food justifies it. read more

Omg! Now I want to cry! Why are you so far from me. The only thing that stop me from coming to this store every day is the over 1.5 hour drive! Literally blows my mind and the BEST BBQ in my life. I first saw the review, and we are in the area (technically not, we are going to the outlet to get some pants only) so I have to try. I have been looking for a good BBQ place, and now I don't have to look anymore. So we have the pull/chop pork, brisket, and turkey. They are so good. If we have to rank it, pull pork wins over brisket over the turkey. But Jeez how can you make even just turkey so good! We would have order more food, but there is only the two of us, and we still have to worry about driving back without a food coma. Seriously if we are closer to the area we will definitely be back the next day!!! Please open another store! Ok the full review now. We are trying this store the first time. When I entered the store and watched what others are eating, I knew it will be good! The line is to the door, but it moves fast. The dining area is not huge, busy, but clean and well kept. There is a cooler station for diners to grab a cold water themselves. There is also the plastic cutlery stand next to cashier. Basically line up, pick from the menu, watch what others eating and ear dropping on what the people before you ordered. When it's your turn, pick your protein. The meat station (probably chef) is super patience to explain the difference of pull vs chop pork to me (which is the same thing btw). After that the ladies will help with your sides, which we only tried the cornbread and it's superb! (It is on the non-sweet side if you are looking for sweet corn bread like my spouse). We got a soda and and the pecan pie and the cashier rang us up and off we go. The whole team is efficient and super friendly. I forgot to mention one more thing, so I love pecan pie in general but my husband hated it because he said it taste "bloody". And yes I have no bloody idea what he was referring to before until we tried the pecan pie here as comparison. When I tried to share and feed him the pie he straight out don't want it (pecan pie is his nemesis), but once he tasted it he tried to describe how this is different, how it is more caramel, buttery, crunchy and without the bloody flavor (and how he like this pecan pie better than all the bloody places I get the pies from for every thanksgiving since we married). He then googled it and apparently older non-fresh pecan gave out that "bloody" flavor and said "huh I guess this place use fresh pecan". I mean pecan pie is his nemesis, so for him taking a couple bites of this is like the highest praised to pecan pie! I am already missing it and want to try to beef ribs next! I've been itching to try Belly Barbecue ever since I heard about their grand opening a couple months back. I love me some good BBQ and I've eaten at a bunch of famous bbq places throughout the United States so I feel like I have a good idea on what to look out for when it comes to great BBQ. I was recently saddened by the closing of MoMo's Meat Market (MoMos). MoMo's was my favorite BBQ restaurant in Sacramento and I've been trying to find a similar BBQ spot to fill that void. I came to Belly BBQ for the first time today and ordered the Feeds 2-3 Tray Combo that comes with 1) Brisket 2) Pork Ribs 3) Smoked Turkey and two sides plus a dessert. I ended up picking Mac N Cheese and Cole Slaw for my sides and the pecan dessert. Let me tell you that the team here at Belly are doing BBQ right. What's cool is they slice the meats right in front of you (pictured in my review) before it hits the tray so it's super fresh and not just sitting out. My favorite were the Pork Ribs and Brisket. The pork ribs were nice and sweet. The brisket trim was perfect and the render was really nice. The Smoked Turkey was good also. I enjoyed the Mac N Cheese. I personally prefer my Cole slaw to be sweeter but not bad. To be honest.. I personally could easily eat the Feeds 2-3 Tray on my own based off the meat and side sizes. I've got a big appetite and it's even bigger when the food's delicious. Your boy can really eat!! I am definitely adding Belly into my BBQ rotation. I saw they also had Beef Ribs, Chopped Pork, and Bourbon Pork Belly which I would also like to really try. All sound amazing. The big gotcha with Belly BBQ is that it's only open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday which is 3 days of the week. Also, when they are open their hours are 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. so if you are really craving bbq then you need to make sure to get here early. You honestly can't go wrong with anything you eat here. This place is Ah-Mazing! I travel all the time to Texas & this is as close to Texas BBQ as it comes! The Best in CA I ever had, especially in Sacramento! Aside from the food, the service is impeccable! Husband and wife duo are extremely nice and staff compliment everything! Even though they are insanely busy everyday, customer service is at the forefront. Place is very clean and everyone goes above and beyond! Now for the main attraction for what you need to order, listen carefully: Do yourself favor and go ahead and order 1lb of bourbon pork belly burnt ends! With the persimmon sauce it is the best, with everything!!! 1 lb of brisket burnt ends & brisket & if your waistband isn't broken by than, add the DINO RIB! Now for the sides: 1. The vibe here is pretty nice Indian spot nearby is popping so between this spot and them it can get pretty busy. They aren't open very long so don't wait too long. I liked their ribs, but the pork belly is so good. I didn't like the cornbread at all sadly. That's my only negative. I like my cornbread with crispy edges, but they do a big pan style which must help on time, but just not my style. I'll still be back though. This place is a small little barbecue place with great food. They're only open from 11 to 2 or is I understand till they run out of meat. But if you have a chance to go there during that time, you will be pleased with what you eat. Everyone there is very friendly and kind. Even the owner walks around and checks to see how everyone's doing. They have several different sides you can choose from and they always have a dessert as well which changes per day, I understand. Their brisket is amazing. They're pork belly is the die for and the ribs are pretty damn good.. I definitely plan to go back and try the pulled pork in the sausages so I'd definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

This place is soooooooooooooooo good. Not only are the staff amazing! The food is well thought out in their complex flavors with so much depth. Everything is a perfect example of how each dish should be. All the elements are cooked to perfection. The brisket rub is so flavorful and the meat is super juicy. Brisket was juicy, the corn bread and beans were a hit, the pickled onions were so flavorful and different from any I've had. The banana pudding is a top 5 dessert I've ever had! Even leaving the great food out of it, the staff was extremely friendly and the hospitality was through the roof. The owner came by and checked in on every table, made sure that we were taken care of, our experience and that if there was anything that we wanted to try off the menu. EDIT: Owner responded basically calling us "liars". And he actually accused us of saying he wasn't from the South!?? WHAT? We don't know him, and NEVER said anything about where he was "from". Wow. He even dragged his wife into his retort. Sir, we don't know you or your wife, and we NEVER made any claims about either of you. And then he even added his mother into this. WHAT in the world? We SAID the flavor of cornbread was good. He ignored that. And yes, whatever oil, shortening, etc he uses in his foil pans leaves an oily residue on the cornbread. He completely ignored our experience with his peppery coleslaw. I have added a picture so you can all SEE the pepper flakes . And please read other reviews, we are not the first to state the issues with the cole slaw. Another reviewer commented his mac and cheese was "worse than Kraft". We wouldn't go that low, it was just so peppered it was inedible. ----------- OUR REVIEW: Cornbread was oily on the outside - they must have over-oiled the pan? Flavor was good. Cole slaw was watery and heavily peppered. WHY???? Husband said the brisket was okay, certainly not "good" or the best he's ever had. A shame. Mac and cheese was...truly dreadful. They loaded it with (what tasted and appeared to be) chili pepper powder. I was very disappointed when I saw it, and the flavor was even worse. I like to taste the cheese in my macaroni and cheese....that was killed by the heavy spice, and so I didn't eat anymore of it. Total waste. I gave it to my husband who likes spice, and he took one bite and tossed it out. We spend a lot of time in the South, and this restaurant definitely does not compare. Well, "been there, done that!". Wow ! Finally was able to find fantastic bbq near by! The brisket was tender and very flavorful didn't en need the bbq sauce. The king size beef rib was delicious and tender! The Mac and cheese was very good well made. We tried the corn bread and it was made to perfection! This place had everything I need to satisfy my bbq cravings! Just need to bring the sweet tea!! Being from Texas I rate this place 5 stars! I would give more but that's all it lets me give. The restaurant is small and intimate perfect with about 11 tables to sit at. I would like to see it grow into a larger venue at one point because it's just that fantastic! The staff are sweet and helpful. Initially recommend!!! Try it you will not be disappointed! read more

Opening weekend and the line was out the door at 11:30. It took about an hour to make it through, order, and get the food. We noticed the service at the counter start to pick up the pace while we were waiting, so I'm sure as additional staff get added, this process will become expedited. Every staff member we interacted with was super friendly, and they keep the space neat and clean. The most important part, though, is what comes out of the smoker, and the folks at Belly BBQ know *exactly* what they're doing. Their brisket is perfect, their ribs are excellent, and I'm stoked to try the turkey, sausage, and beef ribs. I especially appreciate the Pitmaster's approach and dedication to his craft. Texas x Georgia styles make for a very coherent menu that makes sense. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a good unique fusion spot, but it's nice to have a place stick to the classics and execute them exceptionally well. Belly BBQ is absolute smokey goodness! I was happy to be able to go to their invite only soft opening weekend (9/7-9/8). If you follow their @belly_barbecue Instagram page, you can DM them for an invite to their extended soft opening next weekend! For their soft opening weekend, they served an amazing Soft Opening Platter for $35, which included 1/4 lb brisket, pork ribs, turkey, sausage, 2 sides, and 1 dessert. It was such a great way to try a little of everything! I'd love to see a sampler combo platter like this on their regular menu. All the meats were so tender and had a wonderful smokey flavor. I also tried some of their housemade barbecue sauce on the side and just wow. Perfect blended tangy flavors that really complement the meat. That's just a one-up if you're a sauce person because all the proteins were enjoyable alone. For sides, collard greens and cornbread were legit. I can't wait until next time to try the rest of their sides. Their sweet potato pie, a family recipe made from scratch, was delicious. I love a dessert that's not too sweet. I was also able to try Brunswick Stew, Pulled Mushrooms, and Buttermilk Chess Cake. I've never had or heard of these in my life. I'm always up for trying something new, and these did not disappoint. Brunswick stew, I don't know how to describe it exactly. I felt like it was a hearty savory mixture of barbecue meats stew, and I learned it's a Georiga staple. My Asian self would totally love that with some white rice though, haha. Pulled mushrooms nice for the vegetarians to enjoy smokeyness too, but give me meats. Then the Buttermilk Chess Cake! If you want a delicious sweet dessert, this is it. It was so good I ate it and forgot to take a photo. I loved the different textures of sweet smooth creamy but then you still get a delightful chew of the buttermilk crust. I'm really loving these southern foods. I'm so glad Belly BBQ is here. I didn't know I needed Georgia Southern barbecue food in my life until now! I liked the food, and the owners are pretty cool too! read more

Great bbq place in Folsom! We were in the area and had to check this place out. It was later in the afternoon and they were not that busy. We ordered the brisket with a side of mac and cheese, and a spicy sausage. The brisket was very tender and delicious. They included onions and pickles, and bbq sauce. They also included a spicy bbq sauce for us to try, but we prefer the regular bbq sauce. Love the atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. Definitely will be back. read more

We saw the reviews and stopped about twenty mins before close and were so glad that we did! We had the brisket, sausage, and baked beans. All was 10/10. Service was stellar from ordering (and getting recommendations!) to meeting the owner himself. Some context: boyfriend is from Georgia and thinks all CA barbecue is trash, and he loved this place. We were encouraged to watch the Niner game and enjoy our food even though it was close to closing. Nice, big TV and barbecue, can't beat it. Thank you for having us! We'll be back. read more

Belly Barbecue is the truth! If you are craving barbecue and want an amazing experience, definitely come here. We got there before it opened on. Saturday morning, 10 minutes early, and there was already a line. Once they let us in, the owner greeted us at the door. He was shaking everyone's hand and thanking them for coming to eat at his establishment. My wife and I, decided to try the Feeds 2-3 platter which comes with brisket, smoked turkey, burnt ends, and pork ribs. It also comes with 2 sides, which we got Mac and cheese and baked beans, and finally it comes with dessert as well! The brisket, was super tender and juicy. The smoked turkey was our favorite because it was so tender and it and was not dry at all, like turkey can be sometimes. The burnt ends amazing! The pork ribs were phenomenal! The 2 sides were to die for. I'm a big barbecue fan myself, but my wife is not. She loved everything that we ate. If you are looking for a quality food with extraordinary flavor, this is the place you want to come to! read more

Why do negative/neutral review have to be a novel? Red flag about the authors. Owner doesnt need to respond to ANY nuetral/negative reviews EVER. PERIOD. I've eaten BBQ all over the country. Eating here was hands down reminiscent of some of my best BBQ memories from back east. Food was fantastic. Packed with flavor. I heard someone complaining about the salt levels. If I'm passing out negative feedback, I "can" see salt being an issue for some people. But you go eat BBQ to judge your sodium intake do you? Also, place is WAY too small as it was teetering a couple times on being full of customers so a location move would likely benefit this business. I could see a loss in customers with the line out the door. Outdoor seating would help too. That's all I have for negatives. Finally Folsom has a LEGIT BBQ spot read more

This place was delicious!! The brisket tasted great and I love the plain slice of bread and pickles they offer. I'm giving 4 stars because I wish there was more of a meal option to get multiple kinds of meats, instead of having to commit to one. I also wish the meats weren't dipped in butter or whatever that liquid was that makes them unnaturally moist. Again, overall, this place is amazing. I was a huge Moma's Meat restaurant fan, the old bbq location that was once in Tahoe Park. I wish the ribs here were as good as Moma's. read more

Good bbq is hard to find in California especially Sacramento area. You can find decent tri tip but real slow smoked bbq it's rare. The brisket was amazing perfect amount of bark and moist. The sides were 10/10. The crew was great, polite and friendly. I believe the owner was out asking people if they liked their food I appreciate the southern hospitality. By far one of the best bbq spots around Sac! Service was quick even with a long line. Everyone was extremely patient and helpful when it comes to choosing an order. And if you're nice enough - they would give a small sample while you wait in line. I highly recommend their brisket and pork ribs. The tables were clean and each of them had paper towels ready. From the gracious owner talking to everyone, the food, vibe and every staff member behind the counter's friendliness, we will definitely be back. Come early though. It was rich, creamy, well-seasoned, and the breadcrumbs on top added the perfect texture. My girlfriend ordered the braised short rib with garlic mashed potatoes and carrot purée. The short rib was so tender it practically fell apart with a fork. Everything on the plate was delicious. One thing that surprised me was the portion sizes. Everything was very filling, and we ended up taking some food home. By the time dessert came around, we were already pretty full, but there was no way we were skipping it. To finish the night, we shared the Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and strawberries. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant was busy and lively, but it never felt crowded. The tables were spaced out really well, so my girlfriend and I could still enjoy our conversation and watch the basketball game. I also appreciated seeing Chef Q and his wife walking around and checking on guests throughout the night. Flash forward to this afternoon, they called my dad's cell phone to confirm the reservation. They never mentioned anything about the restaurant being closed for a private party or anything. My elderly parents show up for their reservation, only to be turned away by the host due to a private party! When my dad explained they had a reservation and paid for their table, the manager came over to speak to them. The manager said he would refund their reservation charge, but did NOTHING to make it right. They called and confirmed just hours before, turned them away at the door, and didn't even offer to get them a table for the next day or anything. For elderly parents with mobility issues, it's hard enough to get out of the house on a normal day, but to be turned away at the door due to mismanagement of their establishment is just embarrassing. Won't be coming back. Ever.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would. The employees here are incredibly genuine and truly put their customers first. My wife and I drove quite a distance to try this place for the first time. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived, they had sold out of almost everything and were preparing to close. We were disappointed, but what happened next completely surprised us. The manager and his staff went above and beyond. Not only did they give us multiple sides and desserts, but they also packed us a huge tray of food. Their goal was to make sure we didn't leave hungry or disappointed--even though we were only there for about 10 minutes. I insisted on paying or at least tipping the staff, but the manager kindly told us it was on the house. Considering how challenging it is to run a business, especially in today's economy, this level of generosity was truly unexpected. My wife and I are incredibly grateful. REAL DEAL!!!! Belly BBQ ain't no joke. I grew up in the Bay Area during the time of Everette & Jones as well as Flints (both in Oakland). So I know BBQ. Let me tell you that Belly easily lives up and goes beyond the hype. It's not just a BBQ restaurant, it's an Experience. We went on a Sunday and it was a steady line and crowd the whole time. My Fiancé and I have seen the Belly BBQ logo for at least a few weeks now and have been anticipating its opening. We were outside in the car and could already smell the AMAZING traditional smokey aroma of BBQ coming from the kitchen. When we walked in, it was a sensation overload of wonderful smells and a kind, warm welcoming. We were met by Marcus, who could not have made us feel more at home. Wow - finally some incredible barbecue on the West Coast! We tried the beef rib, pork belly, and brisket, and every bite was phenomenal. The meat was incredibly moist, tender, and packed with smoky flavor. For sides, we went with the cheesy grits and collard greens, both were delicious.
