No one was smiling, one girl on register making pastry boxes for a customer that someone else was helping. No other staff. There is no organization with regard to customer line, whether line inside or out. Once inside no one or system to place your order. It was helpful to have premade sandwiches on display. Did make it easy to order once a staff came to you. However, once paid & out the door, discovered the sandwich was not cut as show in case & server never asked me if I wanted it cut. Best baguettes in town! We tried the lunch here for the first time and it was good. The service is always great, everyone is super friendly. I didn't love my mushroom burger, I was not impressed expecting it to be fried, but maybe I didn't read the description. Other people likes their dishes. The pastries are wonderful, some of them I find a bit too sweet and rich, but delish nevertheless. Usually, it's super busy and the line is out the door. One drawback is that the kitchen closes hours before the café itself, even for coffee. I've shown up later in the day and left disappointed when all cooked to order items were unavailable. I understand staffing needs and inventory management, but the hours posted give the impression that more options will be available throughout the day. It can also feel a bit rushed when ordering. The line forms outside due to limited indoor space, but no pastry options are listed on the exterior menu. Since the offerings change frequently, it would be helpful to have a clearer way to see or know what's available before reaching the counter to make it easier for all parties. I stopped by on a whim and I'm so glad I did. I had the Pesto and Roasted Pepper Slab and wow, it was so flavorful, yet not overpowering. The dough was also crunchy, but soft to the bite. My only complaint would be that I asked if I could have it warmed up and the guy at the counter told me it was already hot. Well, it wasn't. It was more like luke warm. Regardless, I ate it like that because service at the counter is not the quickest. The ambiance here is pleasant and seating is ample, as long as it isn't peak times. This place is my go to for pastries! I really enjoy their espresso supreme croissant. It's absolutely amazing it is filled. I did have their casino breakfast it was good, however the sausage isn't for me i can't really describe the taste other than different. Stand out elements are: The flavors of orange and cardamom-sublime: NOT so sweet that my blood sugar spiked and my head felt spinney: Three beautiful tufts that are amazing to fork right into the top, pull off, and into your mouth: The browning is perfection so much so that you can TASTE it...perfect texture of soft and crunch: A solid yeasty flavor and fluffy dough. This is one of my new favorite bakery/patisserie that I have to come here when I am visiting Reno Nevada. . They always have a long line and inside they only allow six people waiting in line so you will have to wait outside. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. . I love coming here for their croissants and I really do love their pinwheel croissant as well. I do love how they rotate the menu with different flavors like Savory to Sweet and they do even have really amazing breads too. The croissant is a must it is always very clicky and I love the different layers in it. The pinwheel croissant is another favorite as well the quality is just amazing and no complaints. I am currently obsessed with the pinwheel strawberries and cream flavor because it's so light and has a really natural sweet and I love the strawberry jam inside. The pinwheel croissant is fun to eat with all the different layers of the flakiness and it is crispy as well. . I also love their espresso I usually pair A ice Americano with no Room And I do love how they use a local coffee roaster called bibo. The coffee is bold and it is strong and not acidic and it pairs really well with all the bake Goods. . Live in Midtown Reno, down the road from this place, and somehow I slept on Beloved's Baker for wayyyy too long. This cannot be overstated... I am NOT usually a pastry guy at all, never been my thing. Then I tried the Pain Suisse and my life changed. Flaky croissant dough, loaded with silky vanilla pastry cream and chocolate chunks. buttery, not overly sweet, perfect lamination. I've had it several times now (embarrassingly several), and I keep going back. One bite and I was hooked; three in a day, then two more the next visit. Serious problem. Pro tip (discovered by total accident): One night I stuck a Pain Suisse in the fridge, and at 3 a.m. when I woke up craving it (yeah, I was literally dreaming about the damn thing), the chocolate had solidified into this perfect, snappy layer. It turned the whole pastry into a creamy, custardy candy bar wrapped in flaky dough--unreal. Now I always stash at least one in the fridge for those middle-of-the-night emergencies. Game-changer. Today, I spotted the Pain Fromage. It's this divine croissant dough cheese volcano loaded with béchamel, Manchego, and Gruyère. Holy fck, it's insane... legit might be the best thing I've ever eaten. Ever. Tall puffed tower with dark caramelized edges, and when you tear it open, there's oozing cheesy custard inside with that perfect honeycomb structure. Savory, rich, and completely over the top. Like I said, I don't even like pastries normally, but this one had me moaning in the car. After tearing into the first, I got out of the car and went right back inside to grab two more. Also grabbed the rosemary sea salt focaccia loaf, super airy, herby, crusty with big salt flakes. Best focaccia I've had. Here or anywhere; tears apart perfect plain or with whatever. Chill spot. Bright, leaf wall art, super friendly staff, display case full of temptation. Prices fair for the quality... about $6-$7 range. Everything fresh and artisan level. Beloved's turned this non pastry dude into a full carb degenerate, and I'm not even mad. If you're in Reno, get here early. They sell out. I'll be back way too often. read more

Oh my! Beloved! If not the best bakery in northern Nevada, it certainly is one of the best. The kitchen consumed two thirds of the space. There is a small area for diners. The choices of quality pastries and breads is immensely impressive. We bought a loaf of plain sourdough bread just to use as a baseline. Folks, this is the real deal. They have a dozen or more variations of some similar breads with other ingredients, ie, rosemary, olives, nuts or seeds. They also serve meals and we had breakfast: Shakshuka, which consists of oyster mushrooms, crushed tomatoes, eggs and buttered grilled sourdough. A unique breakfast dish for our area, so I had to try it. It was very good, the flavors melded nicely to tantalize my palate. I will order it again, but there are other menu items I want to sample. Maria had the eggplant tartine. I can only tell you that her eggplant tartine made a disappearing act, Service was great staff was helpful in describing our selected menu items. They were telling all customers that their is a 20 min wait for your food. Our order arrived within 10 min. The reason for the announced delay is because a lot of menu items are cooked to order. Great location right next to Reno Public Market. When we walked in it was a bit unorganized- a plethora of people randomly crowded around the cash register without a clear line or knowing who was next to order. We arrived after the designated breakfast hours, which unfortunately eliminated about half of the menu items. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich and I ordered the avocado toast with a side of egg (weird I was allowed to order this after breakfast hours). I also ordered a side of hash browns. We ordered 2 coffees as well, and a couple of pastries. We found a table to sit, although there is limited seating. Plenty of seating outside which will be nice when the weather is warmer. The coffees came out pretty quickly, but the food took almost 40 minutes. All of our food arrived except the hash browns. I asked the waitress about them and she said she'd go check. She then came back to the table and told me they were not on my order. My husband and I assured her that we had ordered them. She then went to the cash register and printed a receipt of our order to prove to us that we never ordered it - as if I would lie about having ordered it. What an extremely awkward and uncomfortable situation. The food was tasty. I liked my coffee and the avocado toast was yummy. My husband liked his sandwich. Our pastries were also great! However, for the price, the wait time, and the uncomfortable moment, I probably won't be back (at least not for a while). read more

When I heard that one of the vendors from the riverside farmers market opened a brick and mortar store, I knew I had to go! We've bought their baked goods, pretzels, and sourdough breads every time we would go to the farmers market so it is nice to be able to come in and pick up goods outside of the weekends. I went in on a weekday around 11am and noticed every table was filled inside; they offer outdoor seating in the front which is nice to enjoy their food when the sun is shining. The sun faces the storefront and so this lets that natural light come into the store. As you walk in you are greeted with their whole menu on a stand to the right that you can look at before making your order. You can also look at their window display and look at the baked goods they offer that day. I was greeted by multiple people happy to take my order at the display case, but was not ready. When I was ready, one of the bakers was happy to assist me! I ordered a bear claw , pear taragon cream tart, a ham and cheese croissant, and pain suisse. Once I got to the cashier I was able to order a couple drinks; iced vanilla latte and dirty chai. The cashier, female with dark brown hair and glasses was not the friendliest, she didn't smile and when asked about the drinks, she was very short. The her look and tone of her voice sounded annoyed to say the least. No greeting or farewell. The texture and flavors of their pastries are top notch, my favorite being the pain suisse. The flavors of the chocolate and the cream in the texture of the flakey bread was so delicious. I am unsure if espresso was added to the chai but the flavors of the chai was yummy. They also make their chai in house, which is a big deal if you love chain I've had their hibiscus refresher in the past.
