The movers did a great job and protected our belongings well. Be sure to check about their charge for heavy items -- this was not listed clearly on my estimate, which concerned me because we had not budgeted for it, but the company graciously agreed to drop the charge since it was not spelled out clearly on the invoice. (It was mentioned without a dollar figure on their initial Yelp response, but I don't think that's a sufficiently clear indication of the possible charge, especially since other possible charges such as boxes are spelled out.) The move also took two hours longer than the maximum they had estimated, which made the price a lot higher than we had planned. Let me preface this review by stating that the actual movers/workers that loaded and delivered our belongings worked their butt off and did an acceptable job, my beef is with the supervisor that came to load the furniture and the warehouse that loaded the truck to the final destination. It was a nightmare, the mgr seem to work on commission or bonus so they are trained to look for stupid, illogical and used car salesman ways to change the estimates they provide, which by the way, they lied and mislead the inventory to low ball you so that the mgr can find ways to increase the bill. As he miserably failed to bait and switch our estimate, they destroyed numerous articles of furniture and well packed boxes were smashed so bad that numerous items were broken, since they won't load and unload your things unless you pay them in advance, you are royaly screwed with no protection other than suing them later. I wish I had positive things to say about my experience. Best Quality Movers Lost all of our Pots and Pans just two weeks ago. Since moving in, we realized (day 1) after unpacking all boxes that we didn't have any of our pots and pans - thousands of dollars worth of items (most from our wedding registry) - we told their team, filed a claim in detail with receipts as they requested and received an email saying we signed something saying we had all of our items so they can't help. Their team packed our kitchen and these items that are lost. They left before we could open all boxes and they aren't returning our calls or helping us to find our missing items or paying for them as they should - with our insurance which have that covers this (we have up to 5k). I am hugely disappointed with how they're handling this, and hope someone reaches out - they've been ignoring us. Danielle from the team (in the booking phase) is nice, but haven't found anyone else to be. They also broke a $400 item of ours and offered me $50 for the trouble. read more

They work fast! Within 3 hours, they were able to prep my furniture, gather any lingering boxes I still had in the apt, move the furniture to my new place, unwrap the furniture and move one other big item to a different location that I asked them to. I didn't have a lot of stuff, but just looking at how they worked, they were very fast and careful with the items. I didn't move far from where I was originally (same city) so I think that helped in my case. Overall, great experience! Here's a tip: Make sure to have all of the boxes ready. Similar to what others have said, I received a low initial quote from Bob and Brandon. I was told that the price would be confirmed via virtual tour -- the virtual tour never happened They arrived and charged me $2.5k more than initially promised (vs $4.5k). I have the normal amount of stuff for a 1bed. When I complained to Brandon, he trumped up some additional $1k charge and offered to waive that if I signed a settlement agreement. The $1k charge was bogus and should have been in the initial price quote. They said 7-10 days to arrive and I would get 2-3 days notice. I was given less than 24 hours notice. The movers themselves were good but HQ is not. They promise a low price and then find all sorts of fees to charge you. I would not recommend using them Brandon in particular was incredibly rude. When I complained about the price, he said I could have had the movers unload the van and refused to pay on moving day. What?? In what world is that an option? Loved almost everything about our move with Best Quality Movers but one thing. Danielle explained everything to me clearly on the phone before the pick-up date. She answered my numerous questions about how to pack, what could be taken on the truck and what couldn't. The crew that came on moving day was professional, courteous, and respectful of our property. The thing I didn't understand from their website was that you don't get a say in the delivery date/time. Jake, the Operations Manager, was not willing to explain the process to me. We had a rather heated exchange and then he referred me to his supervisor, Peter. After speaking to Peter, I had a better understanding of the circumstances and we worked out a mutally agreeable delivery date and time. One other thing was that their website has conflicting information about the final payment. In one place it said the payment could be a cashier's check and then it another place (& Jake) said it had to be cash. The stress that Jake inflicted was ultimately resolved when the delivery crew accepted my cashier's check immediately and without question on delivery day. They did an equally impressive job setting everything up in a timely and efficient manner. If not for these things, I would have given them 5 stars. read more

Lack of communication they tell you one price and once they get to your location they're going to up the price on you. Our items are still in transit it's been since November the 30th this year and we still have not received the items yet. Highly recommended. BQM had a crew of 4 move the contents of our 2BR/2BA home and garage in NELA from our location to a pod-type storage container ten minutes away (the pod wouldn't fit on our street our driveway). They were efficient, professional, prompt and courteous, taking considerable care with all our belongings. Frankly, I had my doubts that everything was going to fit in the 16-foot container at the destination, but these guys are Tetris pros, wedging bikes, guitar cases, a wheelbarrow, boxes and plastic tubs and a vacuum cleaner in a tidy, secure lattice-- with some room to spare. We chose to pack up all of our delicates and fragile belongings ourselves, so I can't speculate on how well BQM would perform that component of the move, but we chose to focus on what we thought were their strengths, and it was absolutely worth the cost. read more

We used the 2 hour move through groupon for $160. The movers were professional and quick. My place had narrow hallways and stairs which they navigated deftly. When I thought we may go over the 2 hour mark, I asked them to prioritize the big heavy items and they did exactly as I asked. They were even nice enough to tidy up a bit after the two hours were done. All in all, I would use their services again. We were satisfied with the service and professionalism. After discussing my move with at least six moving companies, I ended up with BQM. All the others were represented by brokers who provided vague promises and wildly different square footage and cost estimates. BQM assured me and advertised that they don't use brokers, but they do. The representative's initial calls were from a Northridge number. After contract, he was difficult to get a hold of and his calls came from Florida. He was a broker who low-balled an estimate to get a commission. The move cost several thousand dollars more than projected. They showed up in a rented truck that was too small. For delivery, they showed up with a large pick-up towing a beat up old trailer with a faded Boeing logo on the side with my stuff intermingled with someone else's. It was amazing that all my stuff fit in a smaller space upon delivery. Their inventory system is archaic: stickers, pencil, and a form. Thus, in time, I discovered a few missing things. I don't think it was stolen, rather misplaced or mixed up with someone else's things. Their system makes it difficult for the homeowner to track items, especially for a large house. This seems to protect the moving company. If they used easily-available tech to inventory moves, it would be easier to track something lost and they would be on the hook to replace it. They're betting on the homeowner not discovering or noticing a missing thing or two, and in my case, that's what happened. A couple pluses: hard-working crews (they'll expect a nice tip and the lead will let you know what he thinks it should be), free storage for a month and they granted me an extra 10 days, a timely delivery per my request. The loss, for me, was in the acceptable range I figured for a big, out of state move. The down side: false advertising; use of a Florida broker; inaccurate price in spite of a painstaking and accurate inventory provided by homeowner reviewed with company several times; crummy looking beat up vehicles that make it look like an unprofessional, fly-by-night operation; outdated, inaccurate, unreliable inventory system; way overpriced for the service provided; intermingling of my possessions with someone else's; limited payment options (pushed for cash). I could go into other things, like their threat to not unload because I didn't have an extra $75 cash to cover the extra distance from truck to door (I said fine, I'll go to the bank, get the $75 for the fee, but there won't be a tip). Wisely, they trusted me for the $75, which they got along with a nice tip. I wouldn't use them again. At the same time, unless you go with a big, reputable van line or white-glove moving service that is a fortune, this is what you'll likely get. read more

If you're looking for a long distance mover who will do it on the cheap, meaning subcontracting your surf to the lowest bidder, sloppy work, etc., this isn't it. We were impressed by how attentive they were from first contact, and how prompt, it was though they really wanted our business and were very willing to work with us. This was a cross country move so it was pretty involved and we had some big items like safes....cost more to move than what they were worth on the used market but less than it would cost to replace them. They are licensed and bonded. They showed up on time and did a great job packing and loading our things. We did our own packing to save $$$ and they fixed our mistakes. Very pleased with the job BQM did for me and my wife this morning. Had a 3br house + garage that needed to be loaded to a pair of 16' pods for an out of state move, and Serge and his crew showed up on time in professional attire with professional equipment and did a great job efficiently loading the pods. They were very respectful of our belongings and worked like a team on a mission. Lots of movers in LA are suspect businesses, but these guys are the real deal. They're not the cheapest movers in town, but they're worth the premium. I hired cheap movers before and you end up paying more because they are slow/lazy and make time costing mistakes. We hired this company based on a flat rate. The agreement was made to move an upright piano up 1 flight of stairs. I spoke to Nick and answered all the questions he asked me. The movers that picked up the piano were 3 guys, but when they came to move the piano upstairs, they were 5 guys, and they refused to take the piano up the stairs because they don't have the tools necessary. They requested $500 in order to use a belt because the piano was heavier than expected. This company came very unprepared. I told the movers to leave the piano on the first floor and we will pay them half price. The movers were speaking in Russian, and they were cussing at my mother and I, without realizing that we understand their language. I told them we understand their language and to not cuss at us. One of the guys got really close to my face, and one of the other movers came between the mover and I to prevent a fight from happening. They refused to give us their names when I asked them. I told them not to touch the piano, they refused and said it wasn't my piano. They put the piano back in their van. When they were loading the piano in the van, I asked them what their names were, they ignored me, and then they drove off with my piano. It was the most unprofessional company I have every dealt with. They took my piano away from me, which was my property. They practically stole my piano. They took the piano to their storage and made me pay half the price of an unsuccessful delivery plus storage fees. I had to hire another moving company to move my equipment from their storage to my house. This was the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. My experience with Best Quality Movers was awesome! I moved from Los Angeles to Dallas. To start off, the pickup was extremely quick. Granted, I was moving from a one bedroom apartment and didn't have much stuff, but they were seriously in and out of there in 45 minutes - that's with more than 20 boxes, a bedroom set, televisions, speakers, etc. They took great care when wrapping up my electronics and furniture. Admittedly, I hate packing. I packed myself. I did a poor job packing. When my stuff got to Dallas, not a SINGLE thing was broken. Everything arrived in perfect condition (in a reasonable timeframe) and they were also quick to unload. We used Best Quality Movers this past weekend and we were very happy! The 4 guys we hired were constantly on the move (literally). All 4 movers were very polite and well-mannered. Jackson, the foreman (?), was very personable and communicative, which I appreciated. You never really know how long these things are going to take when you start out. Of course, I had aspirations of getting it done in 4 hours, but it turns out I had way more stuff than I thought it. Whenever I asked for an estimate of how long something would take, he laid out exactly what still had to be done and gave a ballpark of how long it would take. The things that had to be disassembled were reassembled just as they were, even a stupid Ikea bed that we have that has a million pieces. There were a couple small nicks that I noticed on some of the bigger pieces, but I suppose that is unavoidable. Would definitely recommend using these guys! read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! This company is a total rip-off and a scam. I sent them photos of my items and they quoted my move. 24 hours before my move date, they email me a new estimate with a 40% price increase! I called Danielle who says the increase is for "more wardrobe boxes and miscalculated storage". I tell her to cancel the move, she calls back 20minutes later and the quote is adjusted to 15% more than the original signed quote. Moving day comes, movers show up, look around and tell me I have DOUBLE the amount of stuff than what was quoted and the new moving estimate is now 100% more than the original quote!! Then they have the audacity to say, maybe its less than what we see, lets load the truck up and whatever doesn't fit within the original quote you can throw it in the trash and buy new stuff. I put the movers out of my house. Danielle calls back trying to convince me to let them load my stuff on their truck. Which I know they won't unload if I say so. Needless to say they left empty-handed and my attorney now has this case. read more

I hired this company because I thought they seemed like a nice small company with a nice staff. It seems like the niceness is saved only for the booking call and not the actual move day. There were many misunderstandings and when I asked questions I was actually called a lier. Unprofessional. Also, I was quoted $1000 and the bill was over $2200. The truck was small. I was confirmed for a 26' and got a small 20' truck. This made it impossible for me to add to my order which I had planned. The men were slow at assembly and could have been much better at assembling furniture. But I will have to say the men were at least more professional than the office staff. The men were pretty good at loading. Note-When I told the owner that I was called a lier by his manager Alex he didn't even apologize. Rude. Needless to say I would not recommend this company. I gave them 3 stars because It wasn't all bad. I just like working with companies that are professional. Note-This was a monthly gig I was offering them. They lost a great account. Note- The contract they used is not the normal CA contract used by most companies. Note- the driver charged me extra double drive time and I just didn't have the energy to fight these people. Example they left at 12:11pm and said they left at noon. I was charged 22 extra minutes several times throughout the day with all the stops. Dishonest or unable to tell time? I can't give enough praise to Nick and Jake who helped me move my apartment into a storage unit. Not only were their prices very reasonable compared to some of the other quotes I was given, but they were VERY fast. Not only did they take extreme care to wrap all of my furniture and electronics in plastic and blankets (including a 1960s Hi Fi), but when they arrived at the storage unit, they were able to re-arrange a large dining room set and boxes that were already in the unit so they could fit everything into one unit. These guys are master jigsaw puzzle solvers - seriously there was not an inch to spare in the storage unit, and their re-arranging saved me from having to pay for another unit. Oh my god, where's the 6 stars button?!? let me start by saying that I have done MANY moves, in Italy, then from italy to NY and then from NY to La and then from LA to LA. I had terrible experiences in the past so I had been clear from the beginning that I was happy to pay more to get better service, but the manager was also clear that "high level service" was the only thing thay could commit to...which was a nice statement that I took with a pinch of salt... but then...first of all, the manager came and did a thorough inspection, communicated timely what the quote for the work with me, offered clear explanation on different tiers and options for service. Communicated promptly via email, was available for follow ups and closed feedback loops with really quick turnarounds. Then the day of the move came. We decided to split in two parts (the packing, then the moving) to be done over the weekend. Let's start with them arriving on time - not to be given for granted with movers! The crew leader explained again prices, terms, conditions, looked at the property and what had to be packed, then they started packing. And my god they went FAST!!! they packed everything in 4 hours, were extremely organized, clean, personable and fun to chat with, needed very little direction and were spotless overall. The next day, they came ON TIME, again, finished packing, loading, moved everything, unloaded everything, nothing was broken, not a stain on a wall, everything was left in the respective rooms, very organized.
