Food was great. Don't expect large portions, but tasted great and wonderful presentation. Plus, half the price of the steakhouses near by!

Over priced, terrible hours, cheap food. Its a shame too because its at military resort and food options are limited.

I wanted to desperately like this place. But everything about out dining experience was upsetting. First, it took almost 10-15 minutes before our waiter even took our drink order. Which would make sense if they had been busy, but they weren't. Not only that, but everything was way overpriced. Given the fact that I could have eaten a decent buffet upstairs three times over for the price of our mediocre meal at Biba's. Our appetizers were alright. I had the crab dip and would probably order it again, but my husband's wings were unappetizing and boring. My pasta was extremely bland and my husband's pizza was soggy, which made us want our dinner to end as soon as possible. The only problem was that our waiter was nowhere to be found. And then when we finally flagged him down to order our dessert, he continued to treat us like we were an inconvenience. Now when we finally got our dessert, our usual creme brulee, and it came out without its beautiful burnt sugar crust. Which was extremely upsetting. But to top off the entire night, we sat down with empty plates in front of us for nearly 25 minutes before we finally had to ask for our check. It's safe to say we will not be making a return visit. On the plus side, the bar made some killer drinks. read more

Located inside the Hale Koa Hotel on the lower level. (Who would've thunk that such a nice hotel was military?! - Military ID required) 'Had dinner w/the o'hana, on one of my last evening's here... This was my first time here & from the outside/public areas, it looked great! (My uncle & his o'hana were staying @ the Hale Koa.) The layout of the restaurant is spacious, inviting & service was fair. I was craving a nice steak, so I ordered my favorite cut, a rib-eye. Rib-eye (3 Stars) $21.95: "Eh..."; dry; not too flavorful; the gorgonzola butter was good Onion Rings (3 Stars): Okay The overall dish was just "okay." I was hoping for something within the range of good to great but unfortunately, not the case. Dad ordered the same, "It was okay..." He concurs. My nephew & one of the aunties ordered the Shrimp w/Angel Hair Pasta and loved it. 'Not too sure what everyone else ordered but I didn't hear too much along the lines of "That was ono! Great, Wow!" Overall, great looking hotel, nice restaurant, decent service but I'd have to say the food fell flat, it was "okay..." 'Prices are fair but I was hoping for more than luke warm. (You can get that @ Denny's or Mimi's Cafe.) If given the opportunity, I might give Bibas another try... - Aloha! Food: 3 Ambiance: 4 Service: 3 Value: 3 read more

Really good happy hour from 2-4, try the spicy edamame, it's yummy. We have been there twice already.

While living on the island, we have visited Bibas on several occasions. It's a great convenient place to have dinner when staying at the Hale Koa. The food, however, is pretty hit or miss. I've had amazing meals here as well as not so good meals. The menu has changed and is not nearly as good as it used to be. With that being said, some must-tries are the kalua pork cheese melt and the pizza is REALLY good. Also, if you're looking for a drink, they have one of the best lava flows in Waikiki. read more

We have been there twice. Wait staff was average overall. First was led than avg, second was better than avg. Food was not very good either time. They refused to make substitutions for food allergies. Prices were a bit high for what you got, and compared to the other restaurants around the area. We went to several in area and got great food and great service for less money. Not kid-friendly. Wait staff nor other costumers read more

The New York Loin and shrimp was very good. This was my first time back here after a few years. The pre meal bread could be better, especially for what appears to be more of an upscale restaurant. Mt wife got the spaghetti and meatballs and liked it. I think k the food here has improved since I was last here or maybe it just depends on what you order. read more

They give you yummy cold bread to make up for the crappy overpriced cold food. I ordered the seafood pasta, the pasta was warm but all the season was cold. Tasted like they pulled it straight out of the freezer. Our glasses were empty for 15 mins when We had to ask for more water. Never again! read more

The food here was great...but the service needs some work. I came here with my family tonight and the workers seemed like they didn't now what they were doing. There was confusion all around and the wait was very long, many people were standing outside for an extended amount of time with no where to sit and wait due to the rain. When the food came the servers rushed to give the food. The food itself was really good. I got the shrimp and angel hair it was very rich and filling. read more

They close at 9 PM and were happy to take an order for a pizza at 8:57 PM - that's a huge plus in my book. Thank you! The pizza itself was great, served hot and enjoyed thoroughly in our room. Thank you! read more

I wanted to like this place because the luau food at Hale Koa was good but so many things kept counting against it. Pros: You do NOT have to be a guest and they validate parking which made our trip into Waikiki cheaper. You might need a Military/DoD ID but they never asked us. The king crab legs were really good and huge portion, more than enough to share. Lobster ravioli had a lot of lobster in it and sauce was very good (also see cons) Cons: VERY slow service. In the first 40 minutes we were there, our waitress came to our table once, to take our order, which we were more than ready to give because we waited so long for even that. Lilikoi margarita tasted like a very bland bad regular margarita, the after taste was basically like water. Sides are what you get at a bad banquet hall, bland over cooked steamed veggies and mashed potatoes that I am fairly certain were from a box of potato flakes and not fresh potatoes. Portion of lobster ravioli was very small, only 5 regular size ravioli and no sides, if we were not also sharing the king crab legs, would not have been filling at all. The molten chocolate cake was completely solid, dense, and tasted like flour, we couldn't even finish it. read more

This place was OKAY. It's inside The Hale Koa Hotel on the lower level. The place seems inviting, except the fact that you see senior citizens there 24/7 seemed like an assisted living area with a quick glance! lol The time we went was most definitely dinner time, the restaurant was super packed luckily we came a few minutes early! Our food was bland, as if it was meant for senior citizens! I felt like I needed more salt and pepper even when I put a lot already! We ordered Shrimp Tempura as an Appetizer, it was good, but tasted way too fresh out of the ocean and tasted a lot like raw fish, even sushi tasted better! My main course was the soup of the day- Corn Chowder, and Chicken Pot Pie, the corn chowder was way too sweet! However, the chicken pot pie was delicious! at least the crust was =/ It was fulfilling but NOT satisfying! My husband had Philly cheesesteak, it was alright, tasted overcooked? The guava juice was pretty but it wasn't much given, I got half a glass of it! that sucked so bad. Being in Hawaii, you would think they would give you free refills on GUAVA juice at least! The waiter service was alright, our food was served super slow, and I believe it was because it got busy..still, I shouldn't take longer than 30-45min to get food! read more

The food was probably 3 stars, average but nothing amazingly memorable and some much better than others. My ribs were good, my friends ordered the chicken with mint and said it was ok but nothing special. My other friend ordered the Oriental Salad and it was awful. Nothing but a ton of iceburg lettuce, watery, and blech flavor. The service was HORRIBLE. Very inattentive and halfway through our dinner, our waiter literally disappeared and we never saw him again. We waited and waited and ended up having to ask the manager for a check. Some other waitress brought our boxes. We saw other people waiting for forever for their checks and desperately holding up their credit cards hoping someone would help them get out of there. I wouldn't eat here again. The service was bad and the food was definitely not worth putting up with the service. read more

Fantastic meatballs & pasta. "That's one spicy meatball." Hawaiians know pasta. Wine selection is weak but who cares. Cool water is just right with this spicy pasta sauce. read more

Excellent place for a large party. My daughter had planned a May destination wedding and we had decided to have the rehearsal dinner here for 39 people. We looked at several places and Biba's was the most reasonably priced, especially compared to the Hilton Hawaiian Village restaurants next door. Greg, Biba's Manager, was great to work with. I initially contacted him via phone and we corresponded via email from there until the day of the event. Greg emailed me the menu selection along with instructions and did not require a deposit. I thought this was very gracious, seeming to just accept my word. (I thought maybe it's the laid back Hawaiian culture at play.) On the day of the event, Greg gave me name cards for each of our guests with their entree selection I provided via email 3 days before. It was all very organized. He had our party sit at one section on the restaurant, all together as we requested. We were served timely and accurately. Greg and his staff were very attentive, friendly and professional. The customer service was excellent! The food was reasonably priced and was of high quality. My husband and I were extremely impressed with the deal, truly a bargain for the price. We ate out during our whole vacation and have to admit this was the best meal we had for the price we paid. The best part was that there was no tax, as it's a military hotel/restaurant. My husband is a US Navy veteran and I don't know if this restaurant is open to civilians. Biba's did not add a mandatory 18%+ gratuity, which is common for large parties, but we tipped 20% anyway since it was well worth it. I highly recommend Biba's, especially for large parties. My husband brought his mother and aunt here a couple of days later for dinner and he said it was just as good dining in as a small group. If you get the exceptional service and food my friends, family and I received, you will not be disappointed. read more

Food was barely ok. Nice setting with decent service. After five days of eating on Oahu, this is definitely the worst meal yet. Flavors were bland. We had the pulled pork sandwich and the pasta Bolognese. Of the two, the pork was better but not by much. French fries resembled burger kings but lacked any flavor. Bread sticks with pasta were horrible. Last night we had a small Hawaiian pizza and a bowl of french onion soup. Pizza was good but the soup was probably in the bottom three French onion soups I have ever had. Service was ok and the setting is nice, but I recommend going to one of the other restaurants on the property or a local establishment. read more

Went here this morning for breakfast. Unfortunately upon arriving I found out it was buffet style. I don't eat much so I usually only get one plate (2 if it's really good food!), so buffets really aren't my scene (unless champagne is involved). It would've been nice too have the option to pay for a plate of food instead of a buffet. It was $13.95 per person, a little on the pricey side for a glorified continental breakfast. It has an omelet and waffle station, so maybe that's why?? My one plate of food consisted of one piece of French toast (a half slice of bread), a spoonful of hash browns, a few pieces of bacon, and a small omelet made to order. The gentleman at the omelet station was great, he was very nice to all of us in line, chatting with some repeat customers, acknowledging those still waiting, and thanking them for being patient. Great customer service from him. He made a decent omelet too. The piece of French toast was French toast, hard to mess that up. But to my dismay, the hash browns were inedible. It was as though they were baked--they were cold, dry, and hard. The hubs figured maybe it was just because they'd been sitting there for a while and were almost empty. He got more when they put a new tray out, but he said they were the same and didn't eat the second batch he'd served himself. The rest of the food was edible, but was on par with Denny's. At $28 for 2 people, "meh" food, do yourself a favor and try somewhere else. You'll get better food for your buck elsewhere. read more

The service was horrendous here!!! I'm not going to write about anything else because the service left me with that much disgust. Happy hour was the only good thing about the visit. read more

Just had their cheeseburger with seasoned curly fries and a virgin Pina Colada. What a delicious lunch. The burger had a char taste on it, the patty thick and cooked to perfection. Melted American cheese, crust lettuce, crunchy sweet onion, and juicy ripe tomato completed the burger. Also loved the fries. My drink was a little too heavy on the pineapple juice but was nice. Best burger I've had here. Our server Terry was so sweet and friendly, she made it a perfect time. read more

We've eaten here a number of times. More recently it has gone downhill. The menu no longer offers the fresh catch of the day or crab legs. The menu choices have become meager. We ordered the $43 lobster tail and it had a fishy smell. Prices have jumped approaching what a high-end restaurant would charge. This is however not a high end restaurant. The service has gotten worse as well. We had to ask for salt and pepper and the waiter just plunked down a dish with little packets and walked off. Best to look elsewhere. read more

we had dinner here as well as lunch on a separate occasion. For dinner we had the vegan lettuce wraps, macadamia nut salad, and a pineapple pizza, and mud pie. The vegan lettuce wraps were okay but very unique, since I believe they had taro root cubed in there. The salad was good and a good size for the price. The pizza had an interesting crust, pie-like and buttery. It was unique and tasted good, just not what you would expect. The mudpie was great and was made of 3 different types of ice cream, definitely recommend it. We went back for lunch the following day and got the impossible burger which tasted great. The fries that came with it were also great. We ended up getting a side of onion rings because they looked so good! Definitely worth getting. Service was good. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and prices are reasonable. read more

Food was decent for the price, ambiance was nice and service was OK. Our waiter was nice, but not very service oriented ... example, hubby asked for the Maui Coconut beer. The waiter brought out a can, glass and left it on the table. I know this may sound picky, but it's customary to at least open the can. No complaints about the food, just the service. read more

Had some time to kill between a wedding ceremony and reception. Didn't have any food but just some beer at the bar. Small bar top with a few high tables. No real view of anything but the hotel's courtyard. Prices were moderate. read more

Would give zero stars. First, open for lunch until 2pm. We arrived at 1:45, told closed. Wait, it's only 1:45. Yes, but would be after 2pm before you'd get your food, and we close at two, but you can sit in bar area. That's great, but my son is in a wheelchair and all you have are high top tables, where should we sit. "Just sit anywhere you want..." . No, those are high top tables, he is in a wheelchair for a reason. Where. Should. We. Sit? "Oh, sit anywhere you want." ‍ Needless to say we won't return. You'd think a restaurant in a military only hotel would understand the concept of servicing the handicapped. read more

Ah, but of course, we're here for the food, as well. I started with the minestrone soup. 'twas a hearty little soup, with a flavorful base. But the best part... the cioppino! It was a perfect mix of seafood to satisfy a hungry pallet! My only gripe was that the mussels were a tad over cooked, but the variety and quantity definitely made up for that tiny shortfall! read more

Inside the Hale Koa hotel you'd expect stellar service-- this was not the case. Staff was unresponsive and didn't listen. We had the same server night after night and he progressively got better, but geez Louise! The food for dinner is a limited menu. Nothing really outstanding. You're better off taking an adventure to a local place nearby. The atmosphere was so-so. The bar area doesn't serve food until they serve dinner. Lame. read more

I ate here last night and I thought it was pretty good. My family got a couple of deserts, the warm chocolate melting cake was pretty good, the only bad thing is it was slightly over cooked. I had the hamburger and it was pretty delicious, I would recommend this place if you are okay spending about 15 dollars a plate, if not you could go else where and spend less and get better tasting food. The service was pretty great overall as well. We waited a little longer-term than I would expect considering I only ordered a hamburger. read more

The only positive thing about this place was that it has a nice environment, beautiful lights, palm trees, everything Hawaii should be. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre. Nothing is special about it, reminds me of an overpriced Olive Garden with pineapple thrown in with everything. I had the shrimp scampi with a twist, the twist was three pieces of sliced sardines and capers. It was bland, that's it, that's all I can remember. Do yourself a favor and skip this place and enjoy the other more delicious authentic restaurants around the Waikiki area. read more

Pretty much Denny's at Waikiki prices. And that's about it. Weird tempura shrimp where breading was 5 times the size of the actual shrimp. 11 bucks for three. Perfectly okay menu for kids. The only reason to go is because you're staying at Hale Koa and are too lazy to walk a few blocks to something else. Drop your expectations down a few notches, plan to drop $80-90 for dinner for family of four and it's fine. 2 stars. read more

So gross, sucks WTF! Fish greasy, it's nauseating in a small dish pissed Maybe Barf it & return, lol. Manager use to complaints, doesn't care, Says "Oh ok" doesn't care, walks away. But then Bah, sons sandwich grosser like Micromeal! Uses Fancy words, but such a letdown! read more

Came in the first night of my stay, j would have given a three star for that night food was ok server asked told him the issue avoided my wife and I the rest of the night. Came in about 6 days later, had to come in an hour, not as they were closing not ten minutes before, but an hour and the server talked to us to get our order that was it. No drink order, didn't get the appetizer we asked for or the drink my wife ordered. Just because my day dictated I come in an hour before they close doesn't mean I shouldn't get the same level of service someone would get if they walked in at 6. read more

Tried it twice while staying at the Hale Koa. Once was happy hour and the second was for lunch. Despite being a family centered hotel, they didn't have much for young kids. At happy hour, it was fairly understandable, and what they did have was just ok. For lunch the only option was a basket with wings and fingers so I ordered it for my 5 y/o. I got crab cakes that tasted like the freezer section deep fried type and my son had a burger he enjoyed. About the time our food came, I was informed that they didn't have chicken fingers and would all wings be ok? No, all wings would not be ok. My daughter had fries and milk for lunch which I think she thought was fine, but not me. read more

Don't order the lobster ravioli if you're expecting "American" portions. $24 got me four ravioli and three tiny pieces of lobster... :/ description should've said 1 oz lobster. Food was good but reminds me of Paris portions. Wouldn't have been so disappointed if I'd expected that. read more

The service and food here are both marginal. It is a conveinient place to eat after a day in the sun or when you just want a quick meal. However, we tried the pizza and it was so well done, the crust was hard as a rock. The salad with steak became our favorite since it was consitantly good. The wait staff seems like they are new but when asked, they have worked there for quite a while. Also, the outdoor dining is quite nice by the baryon tree and the pond but the birds of all types are everywhere. When tables are vacated, they sit on the tables and eat the leftovers. They don't allow dogs in the outdoor cafe for health reasons but they allow birds to roam freely and annoy the guests. What is wrong with that picture? read more

Convenient last minute option for dinner with no wait time on a Sunday evening. The Loco Moco was delicious and filling. The tropical sangria carafe hit the spot for my wife and I.
