Went here because I had a Groupon... it was nothing special. Food was bland... home fries were cut too thick and weren't crispy enough. Not salt on anything and worst part - fake maple syrup. I also had allergies that flared up while I was there which happens sometimes when there is MSG in the food... so that might be something to look out for. I am hesitant to write this because I fear ill never get in again!this place is awesome! For the first time since going gluten free 2 years ago I had real pancakes! They were totally gluten free but you would never know it. Simply the most authentic pancakes ever!. Wonderful omelets too! read more

Not impressed at all. Having driven by this place many times, we decided to forego our usual Jakes or Sunnyside and give it a whirl. We readily found parking and upon entering, the place was bright, busy and clean. We got a table in record time according to other reviewers who experienced long wait times to be seated - but unfortunately, our luck ended there. Enter: new waitress. Ok fine - we can deal. Coffee - yuck. Ordered 2 egg bennies and a side of sausage. Told: your food will be a while, the kitchen's backed up. Ok fine. We can last as long as our 9 month old and then we're out. Lol food arrived. Poached eggs totally hard boiled. Hollandaise nondescript and lacking. (These things are usually swimming!) sausage links some kind of microwaved $.99 cent frozen crap. Home fries - cut potatoes wedges with no seasoning. Asked for extra Hollandaise - waited another 10 minutes. Asked for check. We're out. And we won't be back. read more

Went back a couple of times after my first review and the wait staff seems much more attentive. Pam was great one time and this past time Barbara was so helpful. Both very friendly and kept checking on us and refilling coffee. Their food is very plentiful and tasty read more

I had the most disgusting cheeseburger of my life. The burger was dripping grease, covering the bottom of the plate. Staff acted like far less than professional, gossiping and judging customers. they were inappropriately questioning us about our relationship of over 25 years. I went here again the other day. I got the Big Apple, which is poached eggs, cheese, bacon (or your choice of meat) on top of an English muffin. The restaurant was also giving away soup on the house! Again, I got to have the awesome Italian wedding soup. I loved it! My breakfast was amazing - the English muffin was stacked with SIX pieces of bacon. Our waitress, Semara, was very friendly and attentive. I think I had her last time, too. She's really good at her job. Overall, I'd go back again! read more

This place has reasonable prices and many selections. Not gourmet but clean. Eggs, bagels, pancakes all tasty. Yes, the staff is not friendly but this seems to be the norm in most restaurants these days, sigh. They are also open Monday and closed Tuesday (many breakfast places are not open Monday) and it is concvenient. Cash only. read more

Horrible food. Everything is greasy and bland. Ignorant, crass service. They yell across the place, take forever to get your "food" and are extremely rude. Filthy place. If you take a look behind the counter, you can literally see dust stalactites hanging off the cereal rack, black fingerprints on the register and the staff even looks dirty. Everything about this place screams Board of Health condemnation. Even the orange juice was bad...literally. It tasted sour and the person I told told me it was not, she had just opened it. GROSS! My previous review has been erased. As previously written, my comments are very positive. The food is more than satisfactory. The owners and the staff are very friendly and helpful. If the meal is not exactly what a person was expecting, tell someone and the meal will be re-done. I particularly enjoy Fridays when the special is fish&chips. We have been a regular at this place for over 2 years just for sheer proximty to us, but today's visit was the our last visit there. We will not be returning. We (2 adults and a 3-yr old) were there for a late brunch and arrived around 11:15. We were seated immediately as the place wasn't very busy. After about a 10 min wait, we were given the menus and our waitress finally came to ask us for drinks another 15 mins later. By then were ready to order our food as well, but were were told that we couldn't order our food because she hadn't taken the order from a table the were seated before us! As soon as we ordered our drinks, she went over to these people (seated just behind us and took down heir order. We sat for another 20 mins after before she finally decides its time to take our order. Our food arrived almost an hour after we got in to this place and it was cold. At no point in time was I asked if I needed a refill on my tea although hey did do a couple of coffee refill runs. we left the place well after 1 pm.All this while, a family of 4 that came in 10 mins after us, was served much much faster than we were, and they were in and out of there in about 35 mins! For mediocre food, I don't need to deal with pathetic service and waitresses with attitude. Not going back. Ever. Sorry Big Apple you just lost one of your regulars. read more

the last time i walked in the big apple they had a different owner. the place was a mass! wednesday when i went there to have breakfast the place was packed of people. i took a great look around and the place looks fantastic, the walls were painted, the bathrooms looked way better then before, and very clean. this really nice young lady came up to me and asked me what i wanted for a drink, also told me the specials of the day. she had a large group of guys, and so i asked her if they came often and she said every wednesday. they all seem to love her! when the waitress come over to take my order i asked her if she had any preference and she said taco omelet, so i did. it was awesome! read more

Went here recently with the gf & it was as mess. She ordered a veggie omelt, they broguht here out a ham omlet, brought it back to fix the mistake, they brought the new omlet out, it was ham again. They send it back, make a new one and bring it out, yup, it has ham in it. Finally they get it right and bring her the correct omelt after 3 failed attempts. Service was very slow aswell. Unattentive staff & a chef who cant not put ham in stuff. The only bright side is the homefries, they are fantastic. Almost forgot the guy sitting next to use waited 25+ minutes for a bowl of oatmeal. So overall very bad service, would not reccomend. read more

Went for breakfast, we were in 7, it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get food for 6 and after anoter 10 minutes we were told it would take about 10 more minutes to get the last meal. We wanted to speak with the manager who refused to talk to us and the head cook came and talking very loud and agreesively asking what did I want him to do, first of all, I wanted an apology for making 2 little kids, 1 of 4 and 1 of 6 yrs old waiting for more than an hour to eat. I would like him behave and not be yelling and cutting us off when we were speaking, I would like him not to have almost hit my 65 yrs old mother when she was trying to talk to him and he put up his hand to make her stop talking After all that, he said he wouldn't charge us and sent a waitress to remove all the food from the table including from the little kids. He just stopped when another client said something to him privately telling him to stop. Worst place to go!!!! read more

ive been going here for the past few years and they are prob the best. belgian waffles are amazing and so are the eggs benidict. they have the best home fries ever. different specails all the time and they serve lunch now too. the waitress and the cook are amazing.
