With my Afro Latino roots I was craving a Cubano sandwich and was thoughtful enough to grab a "Spicy Steve" and the service was attentive and top tier at the same darn time It's a quaint spot and mad me fee like I was diving into the better unknown secrets of Belmont Heights with pleasant results. Now what should never be allowed is the tasteless, seasonless and soulless potato salad that was presented to me at the counter which should be overhauled or punishable to the chef and crew by making them eat a years supply of this horrific concoction. All in all it was a delightful surprise and I'll be back shortly to enjoy that next round of fantastic sandwiches ! P.S. For the love of God rethink that potato solid it's a good way to lose business if it's that memorable !

"Without balance the entire system falls apart" This was my experience at Big E Pizza. A broken system. Pizza is a rather uncomplicated food. At its core it's simply dough with sauce and toppings. A simple combination capable of such beauty even God wouldn't dare interfere. This is why I was horrified to discover that this sacred trifecta had been manipulated. Who at Big E Pizza thought they could defy God?! As I bit into my slice of pie I was struck with awe. Looking back I feel nothing but shame towards this reaction. "Wow this is great" I said, but deep down I knew something was wrong. God had left, I was face to face with the devil and falling for his tricks. Foolishly I tried to capture the apparent beauty of the slice I was eating (picture). It was then I realized what I had done. There was no sauce. Panic set in. This can't be. My vision went blurry as I looked down at my trembling hands covered in grease. I fell to my knees and prayed for forgiveness. How could I be so foolish? This was no pizza. This was cheesy bread in disguise. An abomination. I decided to investigate this transgression with some research. My first step was to see if they had done this before. As I clicked on the review tab on their website I was met with a horrifying discovery (picture). They deleted the page. I then took to instagram. I figured if someone else had fallen for this horrific scam they would warn the masses. Their most recent post of two days ago had a comment by none other than stanislaustomatoes (picture). TOMATOES. A tomato sauce company. A sickening realization crept in. Either the people at Big E Pizza experienced some horrible amnesia in the last two days and forgot what pizza sauce is or they knew and deliberately ignored it's existence. Put in an order last Saturday over the phone and I kept getting put on hold for 5 minutes. I asked for the $10.99 whatadeal I was looking at online. When I arrived I had this young assistant manager give me attitude and tried to tell me that what I ordered was a large two topping with soda. When I told her that's not what I ordered she tried to tell me I was wrong and that's what the whatadeal was. Worst thing you can do is tell a customer they are the ones who are wrong. She tried to play it off like they would make an exception since I ordered "wrong." To make things worse instead of just apologizing and giving me the pepperoni and extra topping pizza she decided to throw that pizza away and make me wait until they made an entirely new pepperoni pizza. Seriously this girl should not be managing worst customer service skills. The pizza was not the best and no surprise there since they rushed it out instead of just making the customer happy and letting them keep the extra topping for the mistake. I've been coming here for awhile but lately the customer service and food have been not that great and overpriced. Shame because I liked this place but I will take my business elsewhere. I would consider moving this score up if I get an apology from that manager on Saturday. read more

I've been eating Big E since I was a kid. That's 25+ years of delicious pizza, and it's always been delicious. If you haven't tried the rest of the menu, aside from just pizza, you are truly missing out. Salads, pastas, calzones, wings, sandwiches, they're all really good. I just wanted to give a shout out to the manager Omar. I came in last night for their really great pick up special (Mon.-Thur., 3 topping, large pizza for less than $11) and some wings. My hands were full from my order (I'm lying, I was just excited to get my pizza.) and I didn't notice I had left my debit card. I misplace things all of the time so I thought I had misplaced my card too, until I really couldn't find it. This morning, not 5 minutes before I was going to call the bank to stop my card, Omar called me to tell me they had my card and he would be keeping it in a safe place until I could arrive to pick it up after work. Came in for a relaxing time with my family, when we arrived the only tables available were reserved. The hostess/cashier seated us at a table and 2 of the waitress started to argue with her about us, in front of us, talk about costumer service! Needless to say I told them thanks but since we aren't wanted we'll leave and walk out. My wife was upset and went to complain thats when Liz helped us out. She gave us a table and 50% off of our bill, next the evening manager gave us a plate of wings for free. One of my absolute favorite Italian spots in Long Beach! Everything here tastes so authentic and homemade, and the food is always served hot and delicious every single time I come. The ribs are so juicy and tender they literally fall off the bone. The pizza is cheesy, flavorful, and always hits the spot. Ok, I used to rate Big E a 5 but they've dropped to 1. Here's my issue. Order pizza and wings online. Order delivered pizza was not the usual tasty and lacked flavor, scarce on meat and not good. Buffalo wings came in a container completely dry with only one sauce. At first I thought it was an extra sauce but no they were literally dry. The pizza is sooo good here and its cheap too. The sign says open almost all the time and I think its true. The place is small, clean, and fun. Lots of cool employees and everybody's very nice. Its close to the jiu-jitsu school that I train at (Fight Zone USA), so im sure i'll be eating here more than I used to. Eat the Chicago style pies and you can thank me later.
