This is the first real barbecue place I've tried in the area and it's delicious. They have their own unique twists on many things and it's all really good! The brisket sandwich and rack of ribs were juicy and tender. [[HIGHLIGHT]]All the staff is super friendly and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall its just really what you want from a barbecue joint. We didn't get to try the ice cream but all of the flavors look fantastic as well.

This smokehouse BBQ spot is absolutely worth the hype and an easy add to the regular rotation. Got here right when they opened and there was already a big line out the door, which is always a good sign for a BBQ place. Even though it was busy, the line moved at a reasonable pace and the food made the wait more than worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere had that casual, bustling smokehouse feel that works well for both adults and families.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food itself was the standout. The meat was incredibly tender and cooked perfectly -- juicy, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for when you go out for BBQ. The fries were very crispy and well done, not soggy or limp, and the mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and super satisfying as a side. Everything on the plate felt fresh and hot, not like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. It was also a big win for our family. Our toddler loved it so much she ate her entire kids' meal, which almost never happens, so that really says a lot about how good the food was. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and it felt like an easy, low-stress place to bring a little one. Between the great BBQ, solid sides, and how well it worked for our toddler, this is definitely a spot we'll be coming back to again.

Came in on a Saturday night and OMG it was great!!! Pros - Quick service - Amazing quality. Meat was spectacular!! - Sassafrass tea was delicious! - Homemade pickles were great - Pricing not bad ($45 for two plates and an extra side of pickles) Cons - I can't eat it daily!

This food is amazing! We just moved to Westfield and knew we wanted to try this place. We did order a delivery and were initially brought the incorrect food, but they quickly resolved the issue and delivered the correct order immediately. We can't wait to visit the actual restaurant someday soon. Highly recommend!

We stepped into the lounge area of Big Hoffa's (+21). It was a blast! The bartender was so great to talk to and she gave us a lot of info about the food and theme/history of the restaurant. I highly recommend the wings and the brisket. 10/10 food. Honestly everything was amazing. Not a bad thing on the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely check this lounge out![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We have drove by this place so many times and finally decided to stop in. The parking lot was jam packed so we thought that's a good sign. We walked in and didn't see the door inside the vestibule that said "enter" and went in the exit. We got ourselves righted and got in line. We wanted to keep it simple so we ordered the half rack of ribs and the brisket sandwich. The ribs fell off the bone and the brisket was delicious. My personal preference would be a little less barbecue sauce on the sandwich - that will be a request next time. Tried the peach cobbler for dessert which was very good but I was so full from dinner I couldn't eat much. Overall a fun, casual place to get pretty good barbecue.

We tried out the tavern and were amazed!! It's full service, so you can order food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was sooo cool, the bar was huge and filled with bourbons.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is extensive. I loooved their martinis, specifically the chocolate one!

Let me start with the good. This is the ONLY brisket I have ever had in which I could cut it with a plastic fork. The brisket was outstanding - moist, tender, juicy and had a delicious meat taste. I liked the slight salty rub spice such that I really didn't want sauce. Incredible job!! The potato salad was very good. The potato cubes were a medium size with a nice crisp. The mayo base was just thick enough to give it taste. They cayenne taste is very predominant. You do t get much other tastes. The Mac & cheese was okay. The noodles were very soft - perhaps over cooked. The cheese sauce was more baked on so that it wasn't as saucy as I would like. Overall it was good but came off a bit dry and mushy. The soft roll was a nice touch. The slight butter and garlic flavors give it an extra appeal. This place is BUSY! The crowds kept pouring in as we dined. The young man at the counter seemed a bit confused and slow. He did make an error and added an extra meal to our ticket. The team does a good job at trying to keep things clean despite the flow of people. I felt like I was very rushed to eat given the flow of people and the order line that you must pass through. The serving team was very friendly and helpful.

I grew up on Kansas City barbecue so I love me a good rack of ribs. I was up in Westfield touring around for the day & was recommended this place by several locals--It was great! Nicely flavored meat with good BBQ sauce (though of note, their spicy BBQ sauce is only Midwestern spicy) and tasty sides (the garlic rolls were ). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Parking was not too hard & finding a place to sit relatively easy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Next time I'm up there I'll go back and try the brisket.

I have been to this location multiple times but decided to do a to-go meal. The Hoffanator never disappoints! I tend to switch up my food preference each time because you truly can't go wrong. There's always a line when I go in but it goes by pretty quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a dimmed atmosphere with a nautical/pirate feel for decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of seating and a beautiful tanvern that was previously their ice cream area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a great location for a group or couple[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Run don't walk to Big Hoffa's BBQ!!! Yeah the road construction on 32 is a total pain. But the BBQ here is worth it. I live in Lafayette and came here for lunch on Wednesday and Friday! It's that good. On Wednesday my friend and I both had the OG smash burger and fries. Those fries are awesome. They are crunchy and seasoned. The burgers are huge and really good. I also ordered to go 1/2 lb pulled pork and 1/2 lb brisket for the next day. The meat was very juicy and flavorful. I was so impressed. The meat needs no sauce. They have a mild sauce and a spicy sauce. I don't think the sauce is anything special. It's fine. But like I said, you don't need sauce on this meat. I also tried individual orders of mac n cheese, Cajun potato salad and creamy coleslaw. I didn't love the sides. They were fine. The coleslaw didn't travel well and kind of turned purple. The mac n cheese was not the best. It was not creamy and a little gritty? The potato salad had large chunks of potatoes. The flavor was good though. Then on Friday I came back this time with my mother. I ordered the 1834 sandwich with fries and baked beans. That sandwich was incredible! The French roll was fresh, warm and soft. It was not overly spicy and the au jus was great. The fries were excellent again and the baked beans were great. I highly recommend the fries and baked beans as the sides here. This sandwich had chopped brisket and spicy veggies and spicy mayo. So good and I think pretty unique. My mother had the pulled pork sandwich and fries. She loved the fries. She only ate half the sandwich and ordered more fries to take home for the other half later. I took home half my sandwich too. The sandwiches are pretty big here. The pulled pork sandwich comes with bbq sauce on the meat. I'd probably order that on the side but she liked it. It's a warmed brioche bun. Their pulled pork is outstanding. I wonder if they've won awards for this BBQ. I bet they have. I ordered the Saigon sandwich to go. I asked them to deconstruct it so it would make the hour drive back to Lafayette. They were very accommodating. The French roll was warm and wrapped in tin foil. The spicy mayo was on the side. The spicy veggies and pulled pork was in a container by itself. I have not tried it yet. But it looked delicious. I have no doubt it will reheat well tomorrow. Hoffas, open a BBQ joint in Lafayette!! I have eaten Hoffas all week and I'm not sad about it! By the way, this place is down from Grand Park. On Wed I got there at 130 and there was a line out the door. You order at a counter. Then pick up your food on a tray and sit at a table. I highly recommend looking at the menu before you go and know what you want when you get to the counter. The line moves pretty fast. It's a large seating area so finding a table isn't too bad. But they are very busy. On Friday we went at 3pm and it was perfect. No line. Empty parking lot. But when we left at 415, it was starting to get busy again. So, particularly in the summer, I would avoid typical lunch and dinner times because it will be packed. Get to Hoffas. Thank me later.

I almost skipped it, and I'm so glad I didn't. It was incredible. The BBQ sauce deserves a shoutout too. The menu is a mix of bbq, soul and Southern style cooking. Cornbread, green beans, peach cobbler, etc., included. I had the bbq loaded baked potato with bbq beef brisket. The brisket is amazingly tender and moist. The potato was smothered in cheese, onions, jalapeños and bacon. Yum. The bbq sauces are very tasty. I had the tangy sauce which had a kick to it. My husband had the pork tenderloin sandwich. The pork was hand prepped and breaded and very good. The Sidewinder fries are the BEST in Indy area - hands down and the portion is generous. Everyone was stealing his fries. My granddaughter had the Kid's pork bbq slider with Mac and cheese. She also devoured a corn muffin. She loved her meal. Others had the Pork Bbq sandwich combo with backed beans. The beans are freshly prepared and crave worthy. Pork sandwiches had a generous amount of moist pulled pork. We ordered at the counter and food is prepared fresh so there's a bit of a wait during dinner hour. About half people get their food to go. Prices are reasonable - especially desserts. The dining area is small - maybe five tables. Seating is tight. The patio area outside is nice if the Indiana weather cooperates. I love this place.

However, in planning the meal it had inadvertently been overlooked that Pizzology didn't open until 4pm. So, making a quick change of plans meant that we stopped in at Rackz almost directly in front of the Pizzology building. In case it's not obvious, this is a BBQ joint. There's accessible parking, an appropriate curb-cut, and the entryway is a pretty easy to maneuver one-sided glass door that is level to the ground. I found the interior to be a pretty good layout. There's also outside dining that's available when the weather is appropriate. The menu is consistent with most BBQ joints. Rackz offers both dinners (two sides and drink plus meat) or sandwich combos (only one side). The price range is generally in the $10-20 range, though they also offer some family-style options that go higher. So, we're talking BBQ, pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, ribs, and there's even a breaded tenderloin sandwich. They also have a "veggie BBQ dinner." Don't ask me, but it's on the menu. Sides are creative ranging from sidewinder fries to potato salad, mac n' cheese, baked beans, glazed carrots (which I got the chance to try from a fellow diner - I really did like these), and a few other items. I was honestly very impressed with the menu. They also have kids meals and a couple of different Wick's Pies (the classic sugar cream and pecan). I opted for pulled chicken sandwich with sidewinder fries. As we know, I always get iced tea. I really wanted to go for the breaded tenderloin, but I had a full afternoon and that's a splurge for me. However, I was super happy with this meal and would easily order it again. Employees are friendly. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Rackz also offers catering and they do have a rewards program. While this is a bit out of my way, I'd easily return when in the area.

It was late, I was home for the night, and I told him I would try to return within the next day or two. When I returned, the owner was not there. I was informed that I would only receive one-third of my money back. Since I had eaten only the rice and vegetables, I requested a 50% refund. Those items were listed on the menu at approximately $7, while my total bill was $18.52. Given that I had been asked to make a second trip back to the restaurant, my request seemed more than reasonable. The meats were still in the container... even the parts I attempted to chew but had to spit out. (Gross, I know!) The manager stated that he would need to call the owner for approval. After speaking with him, the owner instructed the manager to refund the full amount of my meal. The manager then pulled out the cash but proceeded to take several phone orders and serve another customer who was waiting for food--all while I stood there waiting for him to hand me my refund. He kept saying, "One moment." After patiently waiting, I finally asked, "Is there a problem?" He replied that there wasn't, but then began typing another message into his translator app. At that point, he informed me that while he would refund my money, I was no longer welcome to eat at the restaurant. I was absolutely appalled, but simply responded, "Okay." I have no interest in supporting a business that neither values its customers nor stands behind the quality of its product. Fortunately, there are plenty of other places to eat. He then added that because no one else had complained about the meat being tough, he did not believe that it was. I accepted my refund... all $18.52 of it... and left. I will never return, and based on this experience, I would encourage others to think carefully before patronizing this business.

I finally landed on the Aloha Special Plate with Hawaiian BBQ Chicken + Chicken Katsu, upgraded my rice to fried rice, and it also came with the mac salad and veggies. Now when I opened that container... BABY. The portions?! Generous is an understatement. They did not come to play! The BBQ chicken was sweet, savory, and full of flavor. The chicken katsu? Crispy, golden perfection. Like... exactly what you want it to be. The macaroni salad was also hitting... creamy, flavorful, no complaints there. Super friendly staff. We chatted with the hostess for a bit about the other Family of Grindstone restaurants. We started with the short rib poutine. We had it last year and frequently joke we need more than 1. The meat is so tender and there is a good amount of it on the dish. The app has plenty to share for the three of us adults. I also love the added touch of the scallions. For our meals, I had the Jambalaya pasta which was a large serving with plenty of meat, my husband had the tenderloin sandwich (which was massive and the best he said he has ever had on all of his trips to Indy) and our friend had the piggy melt grilled cheese (Mac and cheese and pulled pork!) That sandwich had incredible flavor and I said I'm getting that next time. We ended the meal with bread pudding bites as the photos on here looked delicious and the waitress recommended them. They certainly did not disappoint. The restaurant has a bit of a nicer vibe and there are certainly some people that were there dressed better than us, but it is not a stuffy atmosphere. Delicious food for very reasonable prices. Good beer selection as well.

It's 3 stars because the salmon was undercooked and somehow looked like chicken on top and pink in the middle. I had to send it back. We requested the sweet potato fries be well done and they were not. The manager was great and very accommodating as was our server. I just want to be able to enjoy the food. The strawberries in the salad didn't seem fresh. They were mushy and I didn't want to eat them. If I go back it will probably be for drinks and maybe appetizers only. The zucchini bread that comes with the salad was really good.

Half of the appetizers were known to me and were wonderful, while the other half was a food adventure. I ordered the spicy chicken sauté and my wife got the mild version of the same. You get a good size portion and it was absolutely amazing and very tasty. You have the option of having the restaurant chef cooking your meal, or you can have them bring the ingredients to you and you can cook it yourself on the in-table cook top. The service was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is new and the dining area was very clean. Parking in front is very small and challenging. I recommend you park in the rear of the restaurant. This restaurant was a great experience and I know we will come back again.

However, each of the items we ordered had excellent flavor. I would come back again purely for the fries and beer. Might need to scout the table options in order to identify where we would prefer to be seated for a more comfortable dining experience.
