Really based upon my horrible experience it should be a 1 star but I am giving Big O in Brea 3 stars because the staff/crew are at least friendly. I took my car in for an oil change the guy doing the work order asked me what kind of oil my car takes (2012 Beetle nothing fancy). Call me crazy but shouldn't the computer screen he is looking at give him that information and if it doesn't shame on Big O for not having better software...because a customer shouldn't be telling them what oil their car needs? So I went ahead with the oil change...and the work seems fine. I made the mistake of going back a week later when I had a flat tire because I thought maybe my experience the week before was just an off day for them. Uh no. I arrive they say it will take an hour...so I say I am going to leave and call me once they have the tire patched/ready for pick up. They call about 40 min later to let me know tire can't be repaired. They can put on a Michelin or Good Year tire and I said I want the brand on my car (which I knew wasn't either one of those)...the guy says well what kind of tires do you have on your car (I am thinking are you kidding me...you have my car there and you are calling me to tell me I need a new tire and you have no idea what tires are on my vehicle)! Yikes! He then says they would have to order my tire but I could come pick up my car. I go to pick up my car...I talk to the guys inside who say it's ready to be pulled up front. I wait a good 10 min see my car just sitting there and guys standing around that could pull my car around front...so I go back inside asked about my car and they say "oh I thought they had pulled your car up already". After leaving I call around other tire stores open on Sunday one of which was a Big O in Yorba Linda. Pedro was on the ball...he listened to my recent experience at the other Big O store...apologized...offered to evaluate my tire so I went over. Within a 1/2 hr he sent a text picture of the inside of my tire said it couldn't be patched but he would put my spare on (which Big O in Brea didn't do) and could order a new tire which would be in the following morning. The following morning Big O in Brea calls to tell me that I would need to go to America's Tire pick up my tire and bring it to them because the tire on my car is specific to AT. Why would I go where I purchased my tires pick up a new tire and take it to Big O for installation? I would just get it done at AT! Meanwhile Pedro true to his word had my tire ordered...got me in on my lunch break took the spare off...put the new tire on and I was out of there in 15 min and back to work. Needless to say I don't recommend Big O in Brea because they seem very disorganized...seem to lack basic knowledge and don't seem to be on the ball in general. My dad had gone there for years always got great service which is why I chose them to start. Bummer. But happy Pedro and the crew in Yorba Linda are on the ball. read more

Excellent, courteous service! I needed an oil change, tire rotation, and a lifetime wheel alignment. Tom not only helped me get a great deal on these services that are the best I've seen (the lifetime wheel alignment can be done as many times as you like as opposed to just annually, like the former place I went to), but made sure that his crew knew that I was promised these prices as well. And they did NOT attach additional, surprise charges either--the price quote Tom gave me WAS the price. Additionally, it took only 1 HOUR to get all of this done (including a cabin air filter change--they showed me the air filter and it was filthy!). I was pleasantly surprised. Granted, it was 9:00am on Sunday, but it was still a very short waiting period for all of those services. The front desk clerk (I didn't get his name) was also extremely courteous as well. Since I wasn't sure about the cabin air filter change since I didn't check around for prices (since I just found out about it) he gave me a discount for the cabin air filter charge. Very much appreciated! Fast, courteous, efficient, budget friendly, AND open on Sunday morning--what more can you ask for? I'm really glad that I found this place. I'm definitely going here for my routine oil changes (granted if it stays $19.99 for a conventional change). read more

Lucky to have gone here! Got a major flat tire and ended up at Big O. Juan was extremely knowledgeable and was very straightforward. I thought I was gonna have to buy a new tire. Juan and the team did everything they could to save the tire while maintaining safety. They were able to fix my tire in less than 45 minutes and also made sure my tire sensor was still in tact! I noticed there was a piece of metal stuck in my tire as I was getting off work so I called Big O Tires and spoke to Victor. He was very helpful, even walked me through how to find my tire # to make sure they had it in stock! Mind you they close at 6 and I was just getting off work with less than an hr til closing time. Be careful when shopping at this store because they will always try to fix something that doesn't need fixing. I bought my tires here so I get free tire rotations and each time I bring in for the rotation they try to sell me something. The first time they said my car needed new struts. What a load of crap because my car was only 32,000 miles and purchased brand new. I was concerned so I took it to two more shops for a second opinion and they said there was nothing wrong. The second time I went in for the rotation they said my fluids needed to be flushed out and replaced. No thanks, a flush isn't required at 40,000 miles... I won't be buying anything from this place anymore, but I sure as hell will be going in for my tire rotations though since I already purchased them here. Ended up here this morning because I got a bolt in my tire. They took a look at it and because my tire was worn, they couldn't repair it. But they changed my tire and put my spare on for no cost. I fully expected to pay some sort of service fee because it required them to take out the spare tire from underneath my SUV and then fill it with air, swap it out, and then put the old tire back in the spare tire spot. Meanwhile the sales guys told me about options and that they would price match even Costco. I never thought about going to Big O Tires, but I will definitely think about going back to them in the near future. Thanks Big O! read more

Came here after visiting other tire shops in the other which had excessive wait times for a flat tire repair. Quick and efficient service, friendly staff. Checked me into their computer system and got to work immediately. In and out in less than 20 minutes and out the door for $29.95. Put the spare tire back into the other carriage and took care of everything completely. Definitely recommend if you need a flat patch. read more

I called on Thursday & asked for a quote for tires. I told them I wanted a TOTAL price with mounting, road hazard, everything out the door. Was quoted about $825. I get up early on a Saturday, get there when they opened. I told the guy what I wanted & he tells me $1,075. WTF?!? I told him what I was quoted & he says that they never quote final price, just tires & mounting. I feel totally misled & screwed. There are plenty of other places to buy tires. No wonder there was only 1 other person at the shop. I left & will NEVER be back. Not to this Big O or any other. read more

I've had my tires rotated at this location 3 or 4 times, usually during the weekend. I typically drop off my car and ask them to call me when it's done. They consistently take longer than they say it will take (eg, they quote me 1 hour and I don't get a call until 2 hours later). They also take longer than other locations. Once I came in the afternoon on a Saturday (around 3:30pm) and they said they were too busy and would not be able to accommodate me that day. This was after I called that morning to make an appointment and they said I didn't need one and to just come in whenever. Maybe this is just a busy location and they give preference to people who come in with more urgent issues. Oh well, I'll take my car elsewhere. read more

Ran over something in my brand new car that punctured the tire beyond repair. Spoke to Tom on the phone. He thought the tire could be repaired by tomorrow because they had to have the tire I needed delivered from another store. I mentioned that if it wasn't taken care of today I'd have to miss work tomorrow. He said because I have been a loyal customer he was gonna send one of his mechanics to go pick the tire up for me. He called me a few hours later to tell me it was in. A few minutes after I got to the shop the tire was replaced and I was out of there. I really appreciate the extra effort Tom and his crew put in to helping me out. I will continue to be a loyal customer in part because of the great customer service that Brea Big O provides. Went to my nearest Big O store in Brea for their Buy 2 get 2 deal at my wife's urging. I arrived early Friday to beat the crowd. On the surface, this should be a killer deal. In general, I found the shop to be clean, tidy and the service personal knowledgeable. Good selection of sales stock and the shop does some general maintenance as well. Now for my experience: From 7-12 noon, the deal is buy 2 get 2 free. Later in the day, it is 12:01-closing buy 3 get 1 free. 4 day only sale. To get this deal, one has to buy an alignment package for $109.00 and the tire protection package at $13 per tire. This is in addition to the $17.00 per tire mounting fee and DOES NOT include $4.25 disposal and state fees. (Research from Big O website does show requirement for tire protection and alignment packages but prices are set by each franchisee). The B2 G2 deal is also limited to certain tire brands. This weeks deal was for cooper and Sumitomo. These are 2nd tier brands, but likely made by a top tier tire maker. (According to Wikipedia-Sumitomo and Goodyear cross own stock in each other, draw your own conclusions). The tires are well rated and rode well after the service. While the Buy2 Get2 is still attractive, it is not quite the killer deal I had hoped for. Still, it was worth a call to conform an out the door price and some quick comparison shopping. I spoke to Erick the manager and made an appt as well as confirmed stock availability. When I arrived, I was given a work order where the amounts differed from our phone call. It was about $40 high. When checking the line items, I saw they had added $10 per tire for filling Nitrogen. Of course, this was not expected. It was a good thing I had done my comparison shopping the night before online. When I presented the competitors "out the door" pricing Including an apples to apples comparison with a 2 wheel alignment and tire protection / extended warranty + lifetime rotation, Erick agreed to stand by his original phone price. In all fairness, all too many games get played with add-ons and up-sells in this and other businesses. The large membership warehouse stores, while less personal, don't play these games. It is a shame that I had to go through this "haggle" and thus I deducted 1 star. Overall, the tires on B2G2 were good, value was better than fair, the way this add-in game just left a bad taste. Having said that, had I not needed the alignment, there would have been no point in getting the B2G2 deal. Lesson to be had here: An aware consumer with accurate facts is still the best way to cut the BS and get the right deal. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the Big O Tires in Brea. When I blew out a tire on my way to work, they were the closest place open. Long story short; one bad tire turned into 4 new tires and 2 new control arm bushings. Fortunately, Erick was super helpful and friendly, and walked me through every step of the process. They took me out under my car to show me all the problems. Seeing is believing, and it made it easier to justify all the repairs. Prices were reasonable, but only slightly cheaper than what the dealer quoted me. The friendly service is what really won me over, though. They gave me a free ride to and from work, and when I returned a couple days later to finish the 2nd part of the job, Erick greeted me by name as soon as I walked in. Overall, I was satisfied with my experience at Big O Tires, and I would likely go back the next time I have issues with my car. read more

I had an emergency, my tire had a nail and was going flat on me. I pulled into this location at 5pm (they close at 6pm). I have been there many times in the past. After I waited there to talk to the salesman for over 10 minutes - he FINALLY acknowledges me and asks, "Are you here to pick up a car?" I replied with "No, I just need a patch for my tire." Well.......he then proceeds to tell me they have no time for me due to the workload (there was 1 car in the garage), and I could not be helped. ........He could have told me this the moment I walked into the door and waited in line.......... As a customer for over 15 years with this company, I have had better service in the past-especially at the West Covina location. You would think a customer loyal for this amount of time meant something, but it doesn't at the Brea location. Needless to say-the lack of service professionalism, and ignorance has made me decide I am better off elsewhere. I will NEVER go back this this unprofessional, unorganized, lack of service location in Brea...EVER...... I took my business elsewhere. Came in with an 8am appointment for an oil change. I was told it would take about an hour, but it ended up taking 2 and a half hours! I saw multiple cars get seen before mine even though they came in after me. If I would've known it would take this long, I would've come back instead of waiting. They also price gouged me by charging for a 4.7 L engine when I only have a 3.7L engine. To top it off they didn't place a sticker to indicate when to get my next oil change. Great customer service!!! I went in for help on a punctured tire. Mark did an amazing job of explaining the issues that were presented. My puncture was right on the edge on the wall. It was not recommended to do a patch job. Mark gave me different options for tires and he let me choose the best option that I wanted. He is very knowledgeable at his job and is very polite. He informed me that my tires needed to be picked up from another location. He got one of his guys on the road asap. My tires came in and I was out in 1 hour and a half. Its no surprise he has a busy shop. He keeps customers happy with quality jobs. He's also, pretty funny. I strongly recommend going into this bigotire location. Today on Mother's Day I went to get my oil changed and oil sending unit changed as well since it was leaking! The mechanic said about 150 plus tax and then I called Firestone and they said 95 out the door! I relayed the message and Big O matched it! Also the mechanic showed me what was wrong which I liked here! The initial owner (Daniel) doesn't come off friendly. Should really try an help the individual more and be more interactive. One of the advisors Cory was a nice an well rounded guy! Said he was going to check my fluids etc. He was genuine! Also the mechanic everyone recommended his name is Vicente! When he speaks to you only tells you what is needed, seems legit! Finally, I needed new tires and they quoted me at over 330 for a brand new pair of 195r/65/15! Called another place and they are doing it for 100 dollars cheaper! If the owner could only match or be willing to work with that price it would have been 5 but overall a descent experience. read more

THE MOST trustworthy, reliable, honest, bend-over-backwards helpful team of guys you can hope to have in an emergency. Ran over a screw on the side panel of my tire while husband was away & both kids with me. Mark was BEYOND helpful & courteous & SUPER patient with all my calls and inquiries after I left my car there over the weekend. He spent the weekend locating the exact tire of my new car and getting it to me AS PROMISED by Monday afternoon. Called when he promised. Priced as promised. AND Kevin, one of the other awesome guys there, actually gave me a ride home! It was already the end of the day, way after closing hours, and he & Mark felt bad that I was stuck and wanted me to get home safely so Kevin graciously offered to drive me home so I didn't have to Uber it home. My husband was out of town and could not be more grateful to the team of professional men at that location who helped his stranded wife. As a husband he was worried about my, and the kids', safety, but, was relieved to hear from me of the tremendous efforts that Mark & Kevin provided to help me. To top it all off Tesla's service center NEVER even called me back! Called them for help on Friday and someone took a message and promised to forward it to the service dept. was a ghost town. I had to call THEM on Monday to complain that they NEVER called me back! They did acknowledge that they FAILED and dropped the ball and wondered why no one called me back. I have bought 5 or 6 sets of tires from this store. I always get a rundown on what else needs to be fixed on my car or truck, most of the time not an honest diagnosis but obviously rehearsed monologues. I was once told my brakes were almost gone, upon inspection at home later that day I found they were maybe half way worn. Another time after a free tire rotation they said my rear shocks on my 2012 Mazda were blown and leaking. Again inspection later that day I could find no signs of leaking. So being careful is important because they have good deals on good tires but they also have a salesman pitch waiting to suck you in and eventually t hey will. My last visit was a deal breaker. I was sick at home and my wife went in for a free tire rotation. They told her the rear tires were worn on the inside and she needed tires and a 4 wheel alignment. She is not easily swayed but they got her good. These were the original tires rated for 60k miles on her 2012 Honda Accord EX with only 30k miles on it. $950 later and we are looking for a new tire store. I would have given them only 1 star but they have been accommodating on other occasions. read more
