I can't believe I paid 78.02 for a oil change today. I have been a regular customer for years, they have always taken great care of my car. I have always gotten a discount for my oil changes but not today. Maybe they are punishing me for not wanting to spend 1,500 dollars for spark plugs and a valve cover gasket. Helped me through the process of getting the right tires, the best possible work done, and even let me know about financing options and future services that were included. While working on my car, he noticed some other work that needed to be done, being willing to send and explain photos as well for any other work that was needed. Wow my wife and I are in our 70s and had a serious blow out on the 57fwy. Triple A had to tow us off and sought a tire dealer to get things fixed up. After a shop not having the right tires he got us to Big O in Brea. It was getting near closing time and Isaac was there and made sure we were taken care of to get us back on the road quickly. Our tires looked good but we're over five years old. So he made sure to give us a great deal on 5 tires for our Silverado including a spare . Thanks to Isaac for friendly fast, Fantastic service. Had a tire leak on the 57 freeway and quickly exited and came here for help as it was the nearest shop. Arrived at 510 . Saw they closed at 6pm. They had one car inside. I asked if they can help us out and he turned us down and said they are already working on 4 tires at the moment and would need to leave it overnight. 2 guys inside the store at the counter and 2 guys working on one car. They directed us to the tire shop across the street as they couldn't do it today. We went across to American tire depot and they fixed the leak in 15 min. Very disappointed as I looked across the street at 553 and the place was already closed. Lot was empty by 603pm. Pretty sure they wanted to head home on time because it was friday so don't count on this place for customer service and suggest you come right when they open so they don't turn you away. I got an oil change a year ago and $5 was stolen from my glove compartment. The manager reimbursed it when I complained which was good, but I told myself I wouldn't go back here. Fast forward to today and I had a nail in my tire. I checked my car docs and realized I bought my tires here so I went back begrudgingly. The guy Rudy told me that the tire with a nail had to be replaced and both my front tires were bald. I asked "They should be under warranty, right?" He said they normally would had I did regular tire rotation. He said my last one was from last year (this was when money was stolen). I said "Oh, but I do regular tire rotation. I just didn't get it here. I have the paperwork". He went out for a sec and when he came back he was like "Your front tires are okay". I retorted "But you just said they were bald". He tried to show me they weren't (yet). I knew it was pointless to argue so I let it go. I just wanted to leave at this point. At the end, I got charged for the tire replacement with some retroactive warranty charge shit. I would have been okay with it if I was told BEFORE the service was done. They just sprang it on me. I just read the other negative reviews here and yes, I was also charged $10 for nitrogen. So to recap, they try to upsell every chance they get. Then they lie when they realize they have to do warranty work. And some of your stuff might get stolen. Skip this one and go to American Tire Depot across the street (I've only been there twice and got complimentary tire plug service). read more

Brought my 2023 VW Atlas to the Big O tire store in Brea this morning, for a coolant level dash light that came as I was driving. The shop employees immediately brought my car into the service bay for an inspection. They discovered the fluid level was low and added more coolant to the proper level. I have had my cars serviced here for many years but over the last two years or so the prices have skyrocketed and the quality of service has diminished. Little things like not resetting the oil life light and leaving an oil filter leaking show that the attention to detail is non existent. The last time I was there my "ESC" light turned on immediately when I picked up my car from an oil change and brake inspection. The manager there said that happens sometimes when they work on cars and it was an easy fix but they were too busy to do it right then and I could bring it back anytime to get it done. I told him I wasn't available for a couple of days and he said it would be fine. I went back two days later and a different person was there and said all he could do was clear the light. He did so and it immediately came right back on. He said I probably needed brakes, tires, and service. I refused to pay their exorbitant prices and will have it looked at somewhere else. Visited on a whim to replace an ancient (21 year old) half-size spare tire that a different (large chain) tire shop stated they are unable to assist with. Maroni finished with a customer and after discussing the situation promptly helped me get in a bay not one minute later. John, the technician, knew exactly what to do and had the old tire off and the new tire on within 3 minutes. Walked back in to pay and the manager, Rudy, graciously said no charge. In and out within 5 minutes with great communication all-around. If I could give a rating higher than 5 stars, I would. Let me start by saying I love this shop. They have amazing mechanics, like Joseph and Mike. Honest shops are hard to come by, but these guys deliver that and more to their customers. I've had my car work done with them for several years now, and they never disappoint. They will only fix what needs to be fixed, while helping educate you along the way with knowledgeable info on your car. They always call if there is something else that needs to be looked at; and never begin work until they get your okay for anything extra outside of the estimate. Gabriel and Victor are extremely helpful over the phone and also with helping setup estimates. Trustworthy, honest, hardworking people here at this shop. During other services, they've even shown me parts they were going to replace (which always makes you feel better than just being told). I appreciate these guys. Your money spent here will definitely be worth it and you don't need to be worried about being ripped off. Big thanks to this Big O Tires and their team. Now that my experiences have revealed a PATTERN of CROOKED business practices, I will NEVER again set foot in ANY Big-O. Old review from 12/29/20 Ladies! Pay attention! These people charged my wife for warranty add-ons that she did not request. It wasn't until she got home that she discovered the extra charges. The manager refunded the overcharge, but rather than being apologetic, he was angry. If the sneaky overcharges were truly a mistake, I would expect a little humility. Took my vehicle in this evening to get a bolt in the tire plugged and the employee told me the year of my tire was against company standards for plugging ( Original vehicle tire from 2017 w/ 22,340 miles ( I don't drive it much ). Basically being a person with common sense I understand this is a business tactic to promote tires sales and profitability vs customer service. They've replace 3 of the 4 tires on the vehicle from crap left in the road all over Fullerton. I took the Vehicle to another tire shop less than 1 mile away and they patched it on the spot. Front office service: As a woman, I hate shopping for tires. Not because I don't know what I am doing but because most mechanics assume you are clueless and treat you like an idiot. At Big O, the service was perfect. Roberto helped me and answered all my questions without being condescending. I had a flat and after visiting a few tires shops nearby, I found him the most inviting and informative. He gave me a couple options and was very patient. Selection: I needed a big tire for my Subaru Tribeca and they had two options. Other tire shops in the area either said they couldn't get them for a day or two or that they had to order from a warehouse. Big O had two brands in my size and let me inspect both before making a decision. Prices: They gave me a brand name tire option and a cheaper option and answered all my questions on the differences between the two. I couldn't believe how reasonable the prices were. Tire service: No issues, very satisfied even after a few days have passed. Took under two hours because they had people ahead of me. They filled my other tires with correct air pressure, and put my spare tire back properly. read more

The amount of disrespect that this team has under the new management of Rudy is unbelievable. My wife went in to get an oil change and was asked what kind of oil change she wanted, to which she advised the same as she always gets. Rudy then finishes the paperwork and sends her on her way. Upon returning she found that the paperwork that she signed was NOT the same as she always gets (synthetic blend) but the full synthetic, this increasing the bill substantially. She then calls me to tell me what happened so I call in to speak with Rudy to find out what happened. When I called, I was asked to be put on hold and then was on hold for a combined 18 minutes. After this extended hold I encountered Alex, who displayed an utter lack of respect for anyone and though he indicated that he was great at Customer Service, continuously talked over me and didn't want to assist in ANY way since he was about to get off work (which he told me). He said that I would need to call back Tuesday to talk to Rudy to resolve the situation. My wife has been getting her car serviced for over 4 years, always synthetic blend, every single time. Why would we EVER change it if we indicated to keep it the same. This level of disregard and laziness that this location has now is appalling and you should be wary of bringing your vehicle here. read more

Brought my vehicle in for an oil change and was told I needed new rear shocks/struts, stabilizer bar, sway bar link, and the Big O favorite new cabin air filter. Estimate total $1,500+ That seemed like a lot for replacing shocks so we took it to our mechanic who does big jobs for us. He inspected the vehicle and there was nothing, ZERO, wrong with the shocks or related components. Probably the worst tire buying experience of my life. I select 4 tires online many days prior, submit my appointment, and get a call on Thursday March 19th that the tires are being ordered and to confirm the appointment for tomorrow (Friday). I go in Friday, 30 minutes early, and Rudy says the tires have arrived and that I can pick up the car the same day. Great. I didn't need the car that day so I was nice about it and even said, you don't have to rush, I can come by tomorrow morning and get it. I get a call from Rudy Saturday morning, he says someone brought the wrong tires but the only other tires we have in stock are these other more expensive ones. My original tires were $171/each. Rudy says the only other tires they have that will fit my car are $202/each. I said fine do it because I wanted to get it over with. However, I go to check the website and there are also tires for $185, $190, $191, that fit the car. I was a bit frustrated seeing this but could not deal with it at the moment and so I did not call Big O about it as I needed to get this over with. I bring this up when I go to pick up the car, and Rudy shows me his inventory on his computer. Okay, if the inventory on your computer shows that none of these tires are available anywhere, why did you send someone to go pick up the "wrong" tires for inventory that you don't even have? That is the flaw in your made up story. You told me you had the order on FRIDAY, but how could you have ordered them if they weren't in your inventory? I asked for some kind of coupon or discount. Rudy says no, we ran your card and you gave us the okay. I proceeded to show him the Big O website showing the inventory that is available. The tires I originally ordered are still listed, along with many other options that will fit my car. Why do you list inventory on your website as being in stock that you clearly do not have? This is not honest. This is complete bait and switch. Here's what's really going on. You are purposely listing tires that you know that you don't have so you can get people in there to give you the keys and put them in a situation where they end up being forced to purchase whatever you claim you have and people end up going along with it because they don't want to waste anymore time. I showed up and Hugo tells me that they didn't have the tires in stock, but that he can have in store in 3 days.
