BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE $4,500.00 OR $60.00 ?? I took my 2004 Toyota Highlander 111,000 miles..in last week to this place, first time there. Asked for a brake check & maybe an oil change. Left the car there. Got a call a few hours later from the manager. He proceeded to tell me I needed a lot of work done ASAP. The brakes needed a lot of work along with control arms, engine mounts, struts, transmission mounts, and a radiator cap. Total needed work to be done $ 4,500.00 +++ !!! ( the radiator cap with tax $ 25.00.. $ 4.00 at a auto supply) Told the manager I needed a second opinion... and do nothing put the car back together. I I brought the car back again in November and was charged additional money to resolve a problem unsuccessfully that I think should have been covered by the original warranty. I went to Big O Tires for years. Each time I went for tires, they always called me with $1,800-$3,000 worth of "needed" work. Several times I caved and paid the extra charges but then started taking my car to my mechanic for a second opinion. Each time I was told there was absolutely nothing wrong. Two reasons I have ended my relationship with Big O Tires is 1. The last time I went, they tried to scare me that if I didn't fix something in my power steering at a cost of $1,400, I was told I could be driving, and my steering could suddenly not work. Again, it was confirmed there was no such problem. 2. I had four sets of tires for only 76,000 miles on my car. When I questioned them, weren't the tires supposed to last at least 65,000 miles - they kept telling me it must be my fault with how I drive. I only do local driving and put less than 6,500 miles a year on my car. My mechanic and two other mechanics said that doesn't even make sense. They said even if I was using cheap tires, that still shouldn't happen. IMHO, it is my experience that it felt like this is a business that takes advantage of females by trying to scare you into more expenditures than what you in came for. As my very reputable, long term mechanic said, they're not in business just to sell tires. I have switched now to the highly recommended Allen Tires in Costa Mesa. read more

Needed to inspect my car for a long drive across country. They were able to take me as a walk-in and took care of my car in a timely manner. I asked for a new battery and they were even trying to help me keep the one I had if I was interested, but given I had the long haul, I didn't want to risk it. They are good at what they do but only get 2 stars because of how slow they are. So this is the 2nd time I have been here. When you get there even if you have an appointment prepare to be passed over for any phone calls no matter how long they take. This has happened both times I have been here with an appointment. I waited 10 minutes before getting checked in even though I was there before any of the 5 phone calls came in and no one else was waiting. This is just bad customer service. The first time I came here a few months ago there were 2 people ahead of me and it was almost 20 minutes before I was helped and even when picking up my car that time I waited around forever. Today they told me 1 hour for my car to be ready and they didn't even start working on it until 5 pm (was there for my appointment at 4 pm) If I make a 4 pm appointment then work on my car. I could have gone home done things for a whole hour before they even started working on my car. If they had let me know I would have come back later. Once my car was ready there were 3 people in front of me. They offered to let me go in front since I just had to pay otherwise I would have been there another 20-30 minutes waiting. Everyone is super nice and friendly but the way they operate is inefficient. If you make an appointment they should start working on your car within at least 20-30 minutes of your appointment. I'm super disappointed because this is a convenient location but I'm not sure I'll be back due to this. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time but with it happening twice it's obviously just how they do buisness. read more

Despite being very busy my tires were done in a couple hours. They only recommend repairs my car could use. They did recommend an oil change despite that being high profit. I highly recommend this store. Not only have I bought tires from them but I would like to day that their costumer service is amazing. They continue to have great service. Last week I noticed my tire light was on after leaving sprouts, I immediately rushed over to BIG O, and when I walked in they closed in 7 minutes. There was no way I could get home in this tire because it was leaking air fast, because of a nail that was in it. Andrew and the tech were so nice to stay after hours to fix my tire for free. I will always continue to do business with BIG O, just for their kind and considerate customer service. Their prices are also comparable to other tires stores, while also having the cheapest prices. This review is because John Markworth and the service that was done on my Volvo. I feel he took advantage of an 89 year old woman. I went to Big O for an Oil Change and ended up getting a bill of $837.67. I waited over 3 hours and this person said I needed Rear Shocks and 2 New Tires. The Shocks were replaced but I was never shown or explained as to what was wrong or how worn the shocks were. I said no to the tires.. When the bill was given to me-it was folded in an envelope and told the Total was $ 837.67. No break down on the costs to justify the bill but he did want my Credit card. I went to another Dealer and was told my tires were good for another 6 months-1 year. He lied t me and he is a Representative of you Company. I literally believed I was taken advantage of by an Organization that has been in business a good many years with a supposedly good reputation. I sent a letter to Corporate in Florida who forwarded it to a Victor Sevantes (omewhere in San Bernadino Area) who then contacted me. He said he felt very badly about it and would send me a Check for $100.00 and a freee Car sevice to be used in the future. I am still waiting . I called him several times and left messages but. to no avail. This is no way to treat people. If they did this to me, I'm sure they have taken advantage of others. read more
