Quick response time. I had a leaky tire, and have had to refill it with air every week or so for the past month. I was in town, and they got my car serviced within an hour of calling them. They couldn't find any nail or anything, so they took the tire off and applied a sealant that is suppose to help, replaced my valve stem, and gave me a good tip to just get tires refilled at a tire place and not a gas station, in case some of those gas station handles are giving poor results. read more

The manager Jason Kish really knows a lot about tires. There was one brand of tires that I really wanted and had researched at the website tirerack.com but was out of stock for my Tesla almost everywhere. Jason highly recommend the same tire , but couldn't get the tires in for a couple of days. He recommended two brands/models that I researched and checked the prices. Jason didn't try to up-sale and provided good advice about each tire. Explaining how each model would handle and it's noise levels. Jason was on point , because after the tires were mounted I drove to Southern California with a smooth and quiet ride all the way there and back . My car was sent here for an alignment. While I understand they need to test drive the car for alignment purposes. I don't think it is quite professional that they accelerate suddenly in someone else's vehicle along with speeding down in a 35 zone. Especially when the car has an application and tracker along with it. I've never been to the store but it was used by another shop to whom I entrusted my car with to repair it due to a collision. After this experience which I viewed through the data on my car. I would not recommend this shop. read more

Went there last Friday to get 2 flat repairs done. When I came back for them, I noticed that they were charging more than before. I asked if the prices had increased, and they told me thay had. I didn't say anything else and paid the bill. I went out to my van, and the young man that had checked me out said that he would get my tires. I opened the door to my van and waited for him to bring the tires. When he got there, he said that he did not know where I wanted them. I told him simply "in the van" He said that he didnt want to mess up my stuff. All that was in there was a ladder and a couple of boards. I guess that he was TOO PROUD to lift the tires in my van. I am 68 years old and did not think it was too much to ask that this young man load my tires. He then threw the first tire in with such force that it could have broken something. He then took the other tire and threw it in with such force that it bounced back out into the parking lot. He picked it up and threw it in again and stormed off. I told him I would not be back, and he said "That's OK". I have done all my tire business there, and could not believe this idiot. Our vehicle broke down in Lafayette and we ended up outside of "Big O Tires." Jason was wonderful to my family - he confirmed we needed to be towed (overheated transmission), let us sit inside the store until the tow truck & Uber arrived (it was over 100 degrees) and made my little girl smile (she was scared because we were 80 miles from home). We have always had great service at "Big O Tires" over the years but Jason's kindness and professionalism was over the top! Random tip. Was looking for snow chains in a pinch. Due to COVID we called 5-6 different stores in the area and this was the only one who had them in stock. Timing was lucky, but wonder if it's also because they are slightly off of the typical 680 corridor. Never, Never, Never go to this place, I made a huge mistake and sent my wife to buy new tires for my Explorer. These joker's ruined my rims! Broke three of the caps. Then this main jerk Jason tells us that's what you get for buying cheap wheels says the caps were plastic. I don't give a damn if they were cardboard, you were trusted to service my vehicle in one piece. So after 2 weeks he called my wife to tell her he obtained the replacement parts, she picked them up and wanted to buy another tire. Jerks told her we refuse to provide you service! I for one don't believe reviews I read for many reasons (consider the source). I have been in customer service for years so I know how it takes. Today, I was going to use my Audi A3 but no it had a flat tire. Wow, not another flat tire due to our are poorly maintained or over used roads. I noticed a construction screw was lodged into the center of my tire thus the result a flat. Now, did it mean a new tire or have it repaired (a replacement for $300.00+- or a repair for $35.00). Here is where Big O Tires comes into play, so I went by the Lafayette location to find out. I was welcomed by Marcos with a winning smile. He went over my options, we started with a quick inspection which lead to a timely repair. He saved me over $200.00 for my first visit to Big O Tires. Second visit for us, this time it was my wife. Technician complained about "messy" trunk because he had to look for lug-nut lock adapter - do I send our car to Big-O-Tire to be lectured by a technician? I bet if it was me he would not dare, but a woman... She brought the car back and I had to redo everything around the spare tire because HE left it a mess, including partially stripped tread on the spare tire hold down. The neat "expert" couldn't tighten it all the way down, and the tire was sticking out and the lid would close flush over it; that's how I found out. I wonder what else he possibly did not do quite well. Lafayette location is out for us from now on - can't wait for robots to take the jobs away from this kind of "service partners". read more

One of the best places to take your vehicle for tire and brake issues. My company vehicle had a really bad brake problem. It was so bad that I thought that the noise coming from my brakes was an airplane flying over my car. I may just have selective hearing though. Took the ol' fleet vehicle down and they really helped me out. They even noticed other things wrong and didn't even try to up sale me. The price they gave me was incredibly competitive. Even though they knew my company was paying and not me. They also noticed my exhaust leak and referred me to Broadway Muffler. Another outstanding company who will take care of you. I recommended them to my neighbor. Shes going through some hard times and told me that she needed new tires and that another place tried to sell her some exorbitantly expensive tires for her car. I especially recommend this store for Jeep owners (who don't know mechanics) as most of the staff seems to own one (or more) and are very well versed with the nuances of different models. Long Story Short: Big O Tires did not properly mount something they had taken off my car which came loose while I was driving on the freeway. After confirming they were at fault, they replaced the damaged part after wasting a lot of my time. Full story: I went to Big O Tires to repair a tire, get an oil change and a tire rotation. The appointment smoothly and I figured everything was fine when I left. About a week later, on the freeway heading up to Tahoe and heard a crazy noise from the bottom of car. I immediately pulled over and found that my skid plate was hanging off of bottom the car and had been dragging on the ground. I found that, of the ~6 bolts that hold the skid plate on, there were only 2 on there and the others were missing. After about 20min of trying to find a way to Macgyver this thing back onto my car, I located a broken tail light on the side of the road that had some wire still on it. I ripped off the wire and used it to tie the skid plate back until as a temporary solution. I then drove to the closest hardware store and bought some zip ties ($15 for heavy duty ones) to hold it on more securely. Once it was on secure and I was back on the road, an hour had passed.  I called Ed at Big O Tires and asked him if his team had removed the skid plate when they did the oil change and if it was possible if they did not screw it back on all the way, he told me to bring it in so they can take a look. Sure enough, they determined that they did not fully secure it and that was why it fell off. They then offered to replace the bolts and re-mount the old scratched and bent up skid plate. When I was upset about the idea of mounting a damaged part back on the car, they offered to replace it. They ordered the parts and scheduled another appointment for me to come in and replace it. When I called in to confirm the appointment Ed answered and I let him know that I was pretty upset about the amount of time this whole ordeal had taken from me (roughly 2 hours at this point) he sounded surprised and said, "What do you want me to do, I already paid for the parts?" almost as if I he considered not paying for them. I went to the appointment later that day and was in and out in 40min with maybe 10 words exchanged with the staff. I understand mistakes are made and I probably wouldn't have written this review if the front of the house had more empathy towards the customer (me). Instead of expecting me to be happy that they paid for a new part or thinking I'd be ok with mounting the damaged part back on my car, maybe they could have said something like, "We are sorry this happened. We are going to get your car back to the condition it was in when you first brought it in. For the trouble and inconvenience we've caused, can we offer a free oil change or 10% off your next set of tires?" any kind of olive branch to attempt to keep me as a customer or show that they really are sorry. All in all, this cost me 3hrs of time, money for gas (driving back and forth to the appointments) and the cost of heavy duty zip ties. I will not be going back to Big O Tires again read more

Terrible customer service. Dropped in 30min after opening (8:30) . Asked for an oil change and that I was dropping in. Guy asked if I was dropping in or wanted to make an appointment for today. After asking for a time for an appointment he says it'll be "half a day" but that I could leave my car there and they'll get to it when they get to it... Last I checked that's not a designated opening for an appointment time.. I ask to make an appt and he says at that point there's only openings for the next day. So what was the point of all the runaround and at 8 in the morning nonetheless.. this was all in person mind you, not even over the phone. These guys don't give a f*ck about their customers at 8 in the morning... My family has been going here since I was a kid.. after this no more. Not worth dealing with bs that early in the morning on my one day off.. Here's the kicker: I forget to mention that this one guy was rude to a customer in front of a fully staffed front end? I was driving home from Walnut Creek and noticed my tire was close to flat-luckily I have Run Flat tires and was able to pull into Big O. The person at the front desk came out to take a look, found the Allen wrench (!) lodged in my tire and said they could try and repair it. I sat in the waiting area and 15 min later my tire was fixed and I was out of there for a very reasonable price.
