We're from New England, so the whole biscuit obsession in the South is foreign to us. So, over the past year we've tried an assortment of biscuits and Biscuitville stands out. This is our third time at Biscuitville and we were not disappointed. We had the fried chicken biscuit and egg, bacon and cheese biscuit (combo meals are under $5 and include a side and drink). The biscuits are not heavy and seemed really fresh. The fried chicken was a breast, not a pressed filet. And the bacon was cooked crispy, not the typical floppy, undercooked strips many fast food restaurants serve. Previously we ordered a stack of five pancakes and they did not disappoint. The portion was huge, actually too much for one person. For the side, we ordered the country fried potatoes which are wedges cooked crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Perfect. The only drawback: the parking lot and drive up line, when Biscuitville gets busy this can be tricky to navigate. read more

I wanted to really REALLY love this place, but at the end of the day it's okay, nothing more, nothing less. Maybe part of the issue is the fact that the parking lot is so full one has to park across the side street if there's even a spot available there. The place appears to be perpetually busy. There are some drawbacks to the setup: The setup is that of a fast food restaurant. The line to order gets congested because the drink dispenser is right at the end of the line, making it difficult for those trying to move on, to do just that. Another drawback has to do with table turnover - as tables turn over, they don't necessarily get cleaned or disinfected, and any sticky residue from the previous patron(s) is left for the next one to try to clean or avoid. The pluses: The food is pleasantly good considering it's cheap. I fed two adults and two children for about $20. Staff is very friendly, and willing to bring one's order to their table if there is any delay with it. There are minor inconveniences that require special requests, such as pancakes not coming with syrup. Given the choices in the area, I'd probably prefer Waffle House (short order) to Biscuitville (fast food) if I had to compare. It wouldn't be fair to compare to places like Denny's/Perkins/Brigs. read more

Biscuitville is a good, solid place to get breakfast or lunch. I wouldn't say there is anything incredibly remarkable about it though, but it is A-OK in my books. I have been many times for breakfast and I typically get a fried chicken biscuit, sometimes adding egg and cheese. The actual biscuit is flaky and buttery like any good southern biscuit should be. But I do like mine a little more on the fluffier side. Most recently I tried the Spicy Chicken and Honey biscuit which was good. I liked the contrasting flavors of the spicy chicken and the sweet honey. But it was on the messier side and I could see that it would be a disaster waiting to happen if you were trying to eat it on the go. My biggest complaint about this particular location is the parking. It gets pretty cramped with the drive thru line and the parking surrounding it, especially on weekend mornings. And you can easily get stuck waiting for other cars to either park or get out of their spots since all the traffic is one-way. It is best to go during non-peak hours. read more

Stopped here on my truck route at 5:45am with an excitement to grab a biscuit I've come to love and was left in the cold misty rain by the staff who didn't even have the decency to come and explain why they were not yet serving walk in customers. We just went to this store and we were blown away by the customer service. As soon as we walked in, Dom, the biscuit maker, greeted us. He entertained our five year old while he was making the biscuits. He even made him a tiny biscuit and brought it out to him. Kathy was also excellent as well as the rest of the staff. Worst service ever. I pay for my food at the drive through and they tell me to go park and wait for my food. After more than 10 minutes I watch an employee walk out with a bag of food, walk straight to one car then directly back in the store with the bag of food. I wait a few more minutes then call the store and ask where is my order. They say oh we couldn't find you. I could clearly see they didn't actually TRY to find me. After more waiting my order arrives. And the bag was missing part of my order. I called the store again (I would have gone in but I'm disabled and walking is hard for me that's why I went through the drive through), they said they would be right out with the rest of my order but never came out so I just left and I will NEVER go back. read more

But they're all good folks. Especially this lady named Margie. She goes there most mornings and is just the sweetest little lady. This is really a 3.5-star review. I only recently discovered Biscuitville, and my family are big fans! The turkey sausage biscuit is a big favorite, as is the new limited edition cherry biscuit (the sweet stuff is very popular with the kids). One thing I would advise is that if you're getting your food to go, steer clear of the "cheddar grits". Not only are they not true cheese grits (they are just plain grits with a small sprinkling of grated cheese on top), but as you'd expect, they congeal and are pretty disgusting if you don't eat them within about 5 minutes. The only other downside of Biscuitville is that the drive-through line can be quite long on weekday mornings- I'm usually there around 8:40, and it's not at all unusual for it to take 15 minutes or longer just because the line is sooooo long. There are plenty of places around that do fast food breakfast. Some do certain things a little better, but for all around greatness Biscuitville gets the award. The biscuits taste closer to homemade than most other places. Maybe that's because they make them right there, and you can watch them do it via a window next to the register queue. They offer the usual biscuit sandwich toppers of egg, cheese, and meat in just about any combination you want. While the standard for the eggs is fried you can request them to be scrambled instead. It can be a bit crowded and the parking lot is not that big so be prepared to make a lap or two and possibly create your own space. read more

Our favorite place to eat on the weekends! The drive-thru line is always wrapped around the building when we come but it goes fast and my order is always correct. This time we decided to come in and eat. John was our cashier and provided excellent customer service.. A smile goes a long way! The staff was very friendly and attentive. They seem to be efficiently staffed every time we come. The only negative is that you have to ask for condiments (i.e. Syrup). I've gotten home several times with pancakes and no syrup but I've learned my lesson. read more

There are not many around Raleigh and the location of this one is not good! There is hardly any parking and the building is located on the corner of a busy street that the line for the drive thru snakes out onto that road most of the day. From the hours of I would say 8:30-1 this place is slammed packed from the drive thru and inside. The orders are taken quickly but you are waiting 10-15 minutes for your food after it is place. The food is good and the staff is so nice and doing everything they can to get you in and out just the straight volume that is bringing them down! read more

Biscuitville is a solid fast food option for breakfast. I like that there's a biscuit window allowing you to see the biscuits being made fresh everyday. I tried the sausage and egg biscuit and enjoyed it. It wasn't anything special for me, but wasn't bad either. The biscuits are solid, flaky and buttery, but I've definitely had better. I like that the egg actually looks like a fried egg and not a mystery yellow square. The sausage tasted like a typical sausage patty. Overall, my breakfast biscuit was good, but not out this world great. Perhaps I'll try something different next time like their monster biscuit sandwiches that look huge with twice the meat. read more

Definitely didn't have a good experience this particular morning. I ordered a bacon platter with eggs with cheese and grits. Luckily I checked my box before pulling out the drive thru lane only to have eggs with shredded unmelted cheese on top, a biscuit and some potatoes. I quickly waved for the lady to come back to the window and asked her about my order. When I asked her about the cheese not being melted she said they don't have a way to melt the cheese but the eggs are hot so the cheese should melt. I told her to look at my eggs they were not hot so the cheese was just there. I also pointed out to her that I was missing the main ingredient of the meal...bacon. When she went to tell another employee who was fixing the food she said "well she gonna have to wait". It wasn't what she said it was the way she said it, the look on her face and the tone of her voice. I quickly requested my money back...it will be a good while before they see me again. read more

I am very disappointed. I only come once in a blue moon and today may be that last time. The pancakes were DRY and much bigger than what I remember from my previous visits. The biscuit was dry and they did not have the warm syrup or squeeze bottle of butter. I know that might sound silly to Southerners, but do you know how difficult a legitimate biscuit is to come by in California or anywhere west of the Mississippi for that matter? The need for a biscuit overpowered me one Sunday morning on the way to work, so I swung my car around and headed in to Biscuitville. Me, and about half of Raleigh. Sunday morning; bad idea. Well, good idea really, but it would have been a better idea if so many other people hadn't had it, too. I was lucky enough to get a parking spot as someone else was just leaving -- using the drive-through in a packed restaurant is a fool's errand -- so I joined the queue and waited, perusing the menu and watching a woman make fresh biscuits through an interior window. Biscuitville the restaurant is small. Biscuitville the menu is large. Mind, I can't eat much of the porktastic offerings, but if you can know that there are a lot of them. Combination meals of biscuits and eggs and such, and biscuits with fillings and eggs and hash brown and such, and so on and so on; much to be had if you're a breakfast fan. I just wanted something that was porkless, easy to eat at my desk and might not have enough sodium to kill me outright, so I went with a biscuit filled with egg and cheese. The counter staff were on their game and soon a hot biscuit was mine for the having. Not nearly as salty or greasy as Bojangle's makes them, the biscuit was fluffy, the egg not overdone and the cheese melty. Would I go there again? Only my love of my normal blood pressure (and my ability to make superfly biscuits myself) holds me back from making it a regular thing.
