We walk in around brunch time on Sunday morning. The entire place is almost empty. A lady at the front suggests we sit in the bar area. We ask to be seated on the main area. So she goes off to a back room to get someone. Overall this lady doesn't look too happy. She doesn't smile and seems to know nothing about hospitality or service. They have decreased the menu items so only a few are healthy, there are so many pizza places around, I can't believe they kept their pizza options. This restaurant has a really, really slow kitchen but we had lots of time to wait so that was okay. Our biggest issue is that the food is so expensive - $20 for 10 wings, etc. and so for 4 people we owed over $200 and only one of us got 1 drink. Went with a group of coworkers during the happy hour. Ordered the classic margarita and it was terrible. Tasted nothing like a margarita but it sure did get me tipsy. So while I didn't enjoy the drink, it did the job! I also got the veg pizza from the happy hour menu. It was a deep dish mini single serve pizza. The avocado egg rolls is probably my favorite item on the menu, so it was disappointing to have limited options for happy hour. A group of colleagues were meeting me here. They told me they were seated when I arrived. The host gave me grief, claiming no one had told them they were expecting someone either by our business name or in any other way. He told me I could wait. I asked if I could be seated after checking with my colleagues where they were seated, and he said it was a 40 minute wait. The place was 3/4 empty on a weeknight. A hostess who overheard everything raised an eyebrow at the male host. I texted my colleagues who told me they were on the patio. I started to walk around to find them, and one of them got me. After being seated, and my colleagues having already ordered, it was another 15 minutes before the waitress came by. She asked if I wanted some bread. "Nope, I want to order. Give me a menu." She disappeared without taking a drink order or saying anything. A few minutes later, our table all got their food but me. We asked the server again for a menu. They grabbed one quickly for me. When my table was almost done eating, our waitress arrived, saw me with my menu on the table, and asked if I was going to eat. I placed my order, she ran away. My colleagues visited with me until my food finally appeared and I finished. One of my colleagues is from England and was unfamiliar with how checks are paid here. Just like I remember BJs from 10 years ago. We arrived right at about 5:30pm on a Friday and were sat in about 2 minutes. As we walked in, we read "happy hour Monday -Friday 3-7pm" but were told by both the hostess and the waitress that happy hour was not offered on Tuesdays. Regardless that did not stop us from ordering countless beverages I ordered their fish and chips, and they were perfectly battered and fried. Fries were run of the mill but, their honey mustard is a good one (do recommend if your are a honey mustard fan). You could tell they were understaffed because: -we never were brought water to the table and we were there for about 2 hours -our beverages were missing straws and garnishes There was a notable delay between ordering and receiving food and drinks so we played it smart and ordered our next round halfway through current round of drinks Even with the slightly chaotic service, their servers were all working super hard and remained super friendly. We were in no rush so enjoyed a casual dinner with good conversation. Will be back (especially now that I know the have a rewards program!) We went to this restaurant tonight, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. My son was eating his meal, and at first he didn't realize it tasted bitter but when I tried a bite, I was shocked by how bitter it was. We had also ordered chicken nuggets, and the fries that came with them were bitter too, exactly the same way. Clearly, something was wrong with the oil or seasoning they used. When we told the staff, no one apologized or seemed to care. They just kept saying "We don't know." We asked to talk to the manager, and even the manager said the same thing -- "I don't know." I said, "Then who should know?" Everyone in our group tried the food, and all of us agreed it was way too bitter to eat.What made it worse was their attitude. No apology, no concern just "we don't know." My partner and I attended a wine walk at Redmond Town Center, so desperately needed some sustenance before driving back home. Therefore, we found BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse as they had a huge selection with large portions. We visited on a Friday night and the place was pretty busy with a ton of groups, which didn't surprise me because every time I visit the Redmond Town Center on a late afternoon or in the evening, the parking lot for BJ's is always packed! But for the two of us with our dog, we were able to be seated immediately right outside on the patio where dogs are allowed. We were starving, especially after drinking so much wine! You'd think that would've stopped our libation fun, but I saw on the menu that they had a white peach margarita with strawberry boba, so of course I had to try that. The cocktail was sweet, as I suspected and normally do not like, but it was quite nice. And where else will you find a cocktail with boba? Now that's pretty cool. But anyway, for food, my partner had the prime rib special, which is only featured on the weekends. The prime rib special came with a 16-ounce prime rib, choice of soup or salad, two sides and a pizookie, which is their specialty dessert. I ordered the full rack of ribs, with fries and chili. Our food was not bad, but not great. I did ask for BBQ sauce on the side for the ribs instead of already on it, and actually, it's recommended that the sauce be on the ribs because the ribs itself were dry. So it needed the flavor of the sauce to make it edible. Fries were double-dipped, which were good. Chili was also good and hearty. My partner's prime rib was slightly overcooked, as it wasn't as red as he preferred. For his soup, the tortilla soup was solid. But when he ordered rice pilaf as one of his sides, it was overcooked, which our server explained that this was the second time she had heard this that night. With that said, she gave him another side of his choosing, a baked potato, which didn't take long to get. The roasted veggies for his other side were standard. We ended up sharing a pizookie, which the prime rib special came with, and it was delicious! You'll want to definitely share a pizookie as it was very rich, and we chose the triple chocolate one, which came with a Ghiradelli chocolate cookie, chocolate chips and chocolate ice cream. Hell yeah! Although the food was just A-OK, I can see the appeal of BJ's. It offers a huge menu, which is accommodating for groups and they have specials that are hard to beat. The patio was fun to sit at, as there were TVs playing, it's covered, allows dogs and has a ton of seating for groups. Our server was also super friendly! Even though she was serving the entire patio area, she was super attentive to all the tables, including ours. Went here a couple weeks ago as we tried to find a place to sit outside with our e-bikes. Waitstaff and greeter were so accommodating and friendly. Food was so good and drinks were so delicious. Loved how the waitstaff kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything. And also thanked us for coming in and earn their business. I never remember to take pics of the food and drinks. Prior to having some hit/misses with this BJ's restaurant location, we dined with Jasmine last week and she really put a positive after taste on all the "mishaps" there's been. The atmosphere was pretty busy that night as well, and she still was on her top game. Let it be known to any upper management or regional staff that she should be recognized. My this Review, for BJs in Redmond, WA is purely based out of their Deep Dish pizza - which was ordered as a takeout. To me Gold standard of Deep Dish pizza comes from Giordanos Chicago Style Deep Dish pizza - with really thick Crust made in pan with nice cheese filled on top and its topping cooked well. When I collected the same here at BJs and checked on it, it appeared like a regular hand made pizza. Asked them to verify what they have served and with some pushback the member told me they can make it more thick crusted. What came back was still very disappointing. When I asked the manager - what is their Standard for Deep dish pizza, on which she said our is "California Style Deep Dish Pizza". Well I checked online - nothing of that kind/ branding really exists!! We called ahead and asked if they could save us a cinnamon roll pizookie (knowing that they would most definitely run out) and they were so happy to hold one for us!! However if you don't want to wait as long you can sit at the bar which is first come first serve. We opted for a table so we waited. This place is in a large parking lot so there is ample parking. It is a huge menu and if you are like me you might not know what to order because everything looks good. They also have daily week day specials which are pretty good. I ordered the hickory brisket and bacon burger ($16.95) which was pretty good. The BBQ sauce was sweet which helped balance out the saltiness of the bacon and the brisket. The red onions helped balance all the other strong flavors and provided some needed acidity. Overall it was a pretty good burger and the fries were good too. And of course I can't forget about their famous pizookies! A friend and I split the white macadamia one and it was delicious! I didn't expect much but it really missed the mark as our food just tasted bland. Ordered prime rib & prime rib dip -& sadly , the flavor just wasn't there. Service was fine, although our server got pretty busy after sitting us down and forgot to bring us a few items (which is fine, those things happen). My medium turned out medium-well, while someone's medium-well turned out medium-rare. The couscous mac and cheese side was a nice change up (worth the upgrade), while the mashed potatoes were basic enough. The desert pizookies (first time ever hearing of this) I guess are the main overindulgences people go for here. You really cannot mess up warmed baked cookies into a tray topped with ice cream. My favorite one was the monkeybread, but they offer sampler trios to try out their varieties. Overall this was not my decision to come here, especially not for the main food.
