I wanted to order dinner to go and when T ordered from their Yelp page it mentioned that I was ordering through Grubhub but there was not extra fees because it was for take-out. I ordered the Ahi salad and walked over from my hotel. I did not receive an email or text that my dinner was ready but it was within the timeframe for being ready. I walked in the main door which was closest to the parking lot and there was a large hostess stand but no one there. While a waited some servers came out of the kitchen with plates in hand and one asked if I had been helped yet. I said "no" but that I would just wait for someone. I waited for about 5-7 minutes and no one either entered the restaurant or returned to the hostess stand. I started to look around and saw off to the right and up a couple of stairs another counter and over the top it read TAKE OUT or TO GO...I can't quite remember which. Behind the counter were two employees just chatting and still no one at the hostess stand so since I was there to pick up my take out I walked to the take out counter and was handed a bag with a receipt printout (or so I thought) attached. I returned to my hotel and enjoyed my large salad. Unfortunately, it didn't include the dressing I ordered so I ate it dry...not the end of the world but disappointing. When I took the time to review the receipt attached to the bag I realized it wasn't a receipt at all. It was a list of the food I ordered including the dressing type. I needed to receipt for reimbursement and that is where the frustration started. Since I saw it was through Grubhub I chatted online with Grubhub who immediately found the order online but didn't advise me as to how to acquire it and the agent was so quick to disconnect the chat that I had to connect with another agent who was more willing to help. After quite a bit of online chatting we eventually found out that the order wasn't placed at all through Grubhub but rather the Yelp site and there was my receipt. If the receipt had just been attached to my take-out order we could have avoided this hassel. The only real positive from this experience was my delicous but dry salad. read more

What I like about BJ's is that the menu is extensive, and there's something for every type of eating and preference. I've been there with a big group, a smaller gathering, and just meeting one other person. There are great specials just depending on the day you are there. Their meal deals are also a good value. I've had everything from appetizers to desserts, and everything I've tried has been delicious. Standouts include the Brussels sprouts, fries, avocado egg rolls, and chips and guacamole. The house wedge salad is also great, and with all of the pizookie options it can be hard to choose, but I like that they have a gluten-free one! The service has always been extremely accommodating when I am there with a group, which is great because I know it can be more challenging for servers when juggling multiple guests at a bigger table. I made a reservation for Father's Day. We were seated on time and our server came promptly. We ordered drinks and they came quickly but the food took a long time (the server offered to go check on it) and when it came, my nachos were warm and a bit soggy so I think they'd been sitting for a while. My husband got the jambalaya and said it was really good. Our son got the brisket burger and he said his was good too. We ordered pizookies and those also took a really long time. We kept watching lots of others coming out and again the server had to tell us she would go and find out where ours were. When they did come, they were delicious. I was happy for the sidearm of BBQ sauce, definitely needed as the sirloin was a tad on the dry side. The mashed potatoes were excellent as were the roasted vegetables. So BJ's has sure gone downhill, huh? I used to go to this location at least once a week. We always sit in the bar or on the patio. If you sit on the patio they completely forget about you. The last 3 times they've forgotten to give me the happy hour discount. 2x I pointed it out and the server said, "oh, let me get the manager to approve that." Like granting me the advertised discount was an unreasonable request that required escalation. One time I neglected to have them correct it because I wasn't paying as much attention. Last time we asked to sit on the patio they told us it would be a 15 minute wait. We sat in the bar waiting for 20+ minutes when my daughter caught the hostess' eye. They took us out to a completely empty patio. Not one single other person, so I'm not sure why we had to wait 20+ minutes for a table. I am the type of person that tips 25%. I'll tip 20% when there's a hair in my food. Last night I only left 15%. Used to love this place. Now... I doubt I'll be going back. :(​ read more

I would like to start with the service. Mariana made our day!!! She was the perfect balance of professional, knowledgeable and a wonderful personality!!! We will request her at our next visit. The food was tasty, fresh and satisfying. We were there with my 97 year old mother ( the day before Mother's Day) and my 72 year old brother. It was my brother's birthday! When they brought out his birthday pizookie the server sang Happy Birthday and all of the guests seated at tables around us sang too! It was so much fun!! I am going to start by saying that Bj's has very good tasting food, however, when you decide to go specifically for the pork chop and they only have one left, that is not good. Please tell me why when they used to have it on the menu as a regular item, is it now only available on Friday and Saturday in the 3 course meal? And not to mention that the size has considerably gotten way smaller, as I used to take leftovers home, but now it is half the size and the price went up! My friend was a bit upset that we came in just for the pork chop and he had to choose something else, because they "ran out!" If you are going to take it off the menu for an every day item and only have it Friday and Saturday, then make enough so you don't run out. read more

My wife and I discovered BJ's a few years ago in Short Pump, Virginia. We've had consistently good experiences since. The two pretzels with beer cheese appetizers were the bomb as always. I had a burger while my wife had the boneless wings. My wife and I love their burgers which met my high expectations last night. My wife said the boneless wings were spot on. My only complaint was they don't do onion rings anymore and string onions aren't the same. It was a bit loud when we got there as it was packed but even then it wasn't too bad since we could easily have a discussion. The design of the place was ascetically appealing as most BJ's are, easy to get around for most and nicely laid out. The service we have gotten at BJ's has been almost always better than average. Hannah was our server last night and she was next level awesome. She was fun to talk to, very personable, attentive, spot on with ordering, made great recommendations and was all around one of the best servers we've ever had at BJ's...or at most other places we've been to. Meh. Last time I was here (a few months ago), I ordered the shrimp tacos which were pretty decent. Several of us came out and I ordered them again. Just blah. Mostly because they were cold. My two friends stated that their food was cold as well. Just not sure what happened, but certainly not the best food commentary.
