The place is nice and the food is great, but our waiter was not too friendly and seemed a little on edge I believe his name was Mario. It made all of us on edge. BBD is our new JAM! Hubby and I keep coming back here over the last few weeks and each time has been EXCELLENT! I've tried the Taco Salad (which is SO monstrous), the Parmesan Cheeseburger (SO bomb), and the Crispy Chicken Cobb Salad. Tonight we had dinner here with some good friends and we received EXCELLENT service from Tyler (Hostess and Back-up Server) and Krystal (Server). Came into this diner without our full party and had to wait, which was honestly a great experience. My mother and I were able to sit at the bar and the staff was extremely nice and welcoming. They answered our questions on what their best sellers were and their personal favorites, which included the chicken fried steak, Joe' hobo omelette, and their Bear's Choice (make your own). While my husband's order had been pre cut and roughly half of the 10oz steak was off of the plate. Not until he said something was the remaining amount brought out.The front of the house was friendly and helpful. It was not busy and I didn't understand why the front of the house was getting so much trash talked to them in Spanish by the cook Ricardo. Since it was my food they kept messing up on I was scared to eat it. Hearing them talk about what they are going to do to the food. ive been to this location numerous times and theyve been going downhill fast for the last 6-8 months unfortunately. i took my bf here for his birthday brunch just this past wednesday and the service was lacking- our waiter was kind but he was scatterbrained, forgot to put in the order for my bf's sides (he ordered strawberry waffle with scrambled eggs and chicken sausage), and then he took forever with the check and never asked us if we needed anything else once he brought the food. now onto the real issue- the food sucked. i'm so disappointed since this was my fave pancake spot but even those missed the mark. the potatoes are inedible, i swear salt has never seen the black bear diner kitchen.. they are the worst, most blandest potatoes ever and they don't even cook the veggies they come with! it's so insane and such a weird and nasty choice- it leaves the dish tasting incredibly bitter. on top of all that, we had to wait 20 minutes for my boyfriends main meal to come out, and then the chicken sausage is oily and undercooked and the eggs are literally soup. i was going to say something but my man gets embarrassed when i do so i kept it quiet. i'm honestly furious they even served the plate to him that way- he could have gotten sick like thats how wet the eggs were, there was a PUDDLE. i'm not sure who was clocked into the kitchen shift wednesday the 16th of july at 9am but they deserve all the worst lol. black bear, you ruined my man's birthday brekkie and we will never be back unfortunately read more

Wanted to give this place a try. Plus-we were seated right away. Had flavored coffee creamers table side. Minuses-coffee was weak, creamers didn't help. Prices are high for basic breakfast plates. Food took forever to come out. Potatoes were cold. Veggies that were added to our potato order weren't even cooked, it was like the veggies were an afterthought. 2 ppl in party, 2 basic plates & 2 coffees totaled 50+$. Will not go back. But we had waited so long and we were so hungry....Normally , at least one person in your party will enjoy their meal. But ALL three in our party did not enjoy their meal. The staff seemed angry and overwhelmed. And the food was overcooked. We were in town for a big meeting. Therefore, we would have loved to refer all of our friends. We will not do that. It was my first time at this restaurant and I was a little surprised at the price of the food. I felt like this place is a on the pricier side when it comes to similar restaurants with comparable quality food. Nonetheless it was enough to satisfy my hunger.
