The most average experience I've had in a long time. As one that likes to support local businesses, I wanted to give Blackberry Cafe a try. When I arrived they seemed to be a bit short staffed, but I was sat immediately. This is definitely a place with locals that the servers know (I assume) because the friendliness toward everyone around me in comparison to me was noticeable. Again, it could just be that I was a new customer. I ordered an omelet and was unaware you needed to ask for cheese, which is the main ingredient in an omelet and the server didn't ask. Ask my omelette came and took another look at the menu and in tiny print it said "cheese extra". The omelet was average and so was the experience and the entire breakfast. My measuring stick for any restaurant is simple: if I had friends coming in from out of town, would I take them to the restaurant. My answer for this is a resounding "no". Overall, the entire experience was PNC awful but just average, from the food to the service.....just average. read more

Based on the menu and the reviews, I thought this would be a great place to try. The website said it was open until 2:30 PM. I drove down there from Scottsdale to meet a friend who was driving from Gilbert. Unfortunately, the café was closed for air-conditioning repair. Super disappointed that the website was not updated to reflect the fact that the café would be closed until August 17. We learned that from a worker who is repairing the air conditioning. I'm not sure if I would make the effort to go there again. Probably unfortunate for both the business and myself. read more

Really like this little gem! I had the cinnamon swirl French Toast with Caramelized apples....it was soooo good. They didn't overcook my eggs (thank goodness) and everything was HOT! Oh wait....amazingly fast with food prep! Seemed like it was only 5 minutes or so before our order came out (from the time she took it). My mom truly enjoyed her corned beef hash, eggs and toast. She oohed and aaahed through her meal . The water is delicious....if you know Chandler you know the water taste horrible! They are filtering it great! The Manager Setkia is a very rude and disrespectful woman. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. When I asked if they could take the Mediterranean wrap off the ticket because I didn't like it and did not eat it, the manager comes and she's in defense mode asking me why I didn't like it since "it was made with fresh ingredients" and it's "very popular" to which I responded "everyone has different taste buds, I personally didn't like it" and she just kept escalating the situation explaining why the wrap is so good and saying that I should have ordered something else and she doesn't understand why I didn't like it and that I'm going hungry because I refused to eat it. I told her I no longer had an appetite and didn't want to order anything else from this restaurant and that I'm simply asking her take it off the bill. She said "well next time order something else" and stormed off. There will be no next time. The waitress returned with a new ticket and apologized for her managers behavior. There was no reason for this situation to have escalated and become so aggressive. Good customer service do not exist in this managers skill set. Thank you for responding and for apologizing, Sekia. I was very offended and so was my family for the way you handled this situation. I will accept your apology but it doesn't take away from your lack of respect and customer service skills. Based on my encounter with you and the way you respond to other reviews on yelp speak volumes of the type of person that you are which is a snarky, arrogant, and disrespectful woman. I also just want to let you know that you're mistaken, we did inform the waitress during the meal and she took my plate away and I told her I didn't want anything else because I had lost my appetite. When my boyfriend and I first came inside, there was a lady that was fed up with the wait. That was really awkward. We got seated right away after I guess a bunch of people leaving for their wait . We got seated right away and our waitress was kind and served our drinks and took our order quick, but our food wasn't quick. We waited for 30-45 mins. There were people that came after us that got their orders first. The waitress came to us that the fact we order chicken and waffles, it will be an extra 2 mins because the chicken took long to cook. We finally got our food and she offered free fruit for us for the long wait. The food look pretty good. I had the Avocado, Bacon and Tomato omelette and it was decent. I asked for cheese but I didn't taste the American cheese in there. My boyfriend got the Chicken and Waffles. He liked the Waffles, but the chicken tenders looked and tasted as if they are store bought. The chicken tenders according to my boyfriend taste cheap and almost close to fast-food quality. I gave it three stars just because I feel the place has some improvements. The waitress customer service was great, but it seemed disorganized and food isn't up to par with the price. It was my first time ordering takeout from this restaurant. Calling in the order was easy enough, but they mixed up our side orders (not a difficult thing to correct, but still). Also, the cheeseburger we ordered 'medium' was definitely rare (see photo). If you order takeout from this restaurant, my advice is that you check your order before you leave, and if you would like your burger cooked medium, ask for it to be cooked Medium Well and hope for the best. read more

We went to the BlackBerry Cafe this morning for Sunday family breakfast because it is in the same place where Biscuits used to be, and I was hoping it was just a rebranding or new management or something along those lines... it is an altogether new establishment that unfortunately falls short of its predecessor. I was impressed they offered a gluten-free pancake option, but that was about all that impressed. We were told multiple times that the food was "almost ready," but it took nearly 30 mins to actually get our order out. We were there before the Sunday morning rush by design, but it didn't matter. Normally we get our daughter's meal put in first but the server did not take any orders when she gave us coffee even though we were ready. She had to go pour more cups of coffee and wait other tables even though she was literally standing at our table. Because we waited so long, the server gave our kiddo a free apple juice (thoughtful but trivial) in the grand scheme of things. When the food came it was already cooked off enough that our 2-yr old could eat it without blowing on it. My wife's and my food was somehow watery? I got the corned beef hash omelette which was a favorite from Biscuits, who used delicious hand shredded CBH but this place uses canned "dog food" style CBH. It made my omelette soggy and I couldn't get past the first couple bites. The gluten-free pancake was okay, but nothing to write home over. My daughter's ham and cheese omelette looked the best but I didn't dare eat her food. My wife had the garden skillet. It upset her stomach and it was a race to get home... On top of it all, the coffee tasted like it was half water. They gave us a "loyalty card" but we will not be back. read more

We have been here before and had excellent service. In the last visit I asked the waitress to substitute a side for another. I told her I would pay the extra charge for substitution. I didn't want to waste food by having two orders of hash browns. She wrote the change down. When I got my order it had two orders of hash browns. The waitress said she told the cook about the change. It appears that the cook ignored the request. It's a shame that food was wasted because the portions were large. I didn't touch the second order of hash browns. The food looked great. I was looking through the menu amd noticed they had potato pancakes, I LOVE potato pancakes. I was going to try the blueberry pancakes,I will next time. My server Dan (female) was on point. Came to my table immediately, got me coffee right away and refilled without asking and answered questions I had. A table of 6 sat next to me. Fun table. Coffee was good Wife had steak and eggs. She hated the steak. It was boiled and grey! She ordered it medium rare and it was well done. Her eggs and potatoes were good.
