Blackfish may be my favorite restaurant on the Cape and it's also home to one of my favorite dishes of all time, their tuna bolognese. Just away from the hustle and bustle of rt 6 rests this unassuming restaurant tucked into the pines. When you enter you instantly get a cozy tavern vibe with brick and wood, and part of their dining room is partially underground with views of the surrounding hostas and ferns. I believe their space was a smithy once upon a time. The setting is rustic, but the service is fantastic and what you'd expect in fine dining. Waitstaff is knowledgeable about the offerings and attentive without being overbearing. The food is amazing. When you're sick of fried clams and French fries you should come here and reset. I've had several different dishes here, but I always come back for the tuna bolognese. It may sound crazy, but it's absolutely delicious. The fresh pappardelle is always perfectly toothsome, and the lemon and ricotta sends it over the top. Their desserts are always 10/10 too. The panna cotta we had tonight was so fresh and bright, the perfect way to end a meal. Definitely a great spot for a special occasion or just a treat! Just a note: The parking lot is fairly small and unpaved. There is one accessible designated spot by the front door.

Phenomenal meal supporting one of my absolute favorite places, despite being take out due to COVID! The white bean hummus and olive oil with bread is always a must. The organic greens salad with fried shallots was so fresh and a good portion. We added Gorgonzola which was a nice addition. I had the tuna bolognese because I wait all year long for this dish. Absolutely phenomenal dish, words cannot describe how decadent it is. Everything blackfish creates is always fabulous. No complaints ever

Still one of the best restaurants on Cape Cod! Food is excellent and shows a heightened degree of flavors and execution. Great ambience, cozy and intimate but diners are not crowded. Great bar area too for solo dining.

I came here with a party of 12 to celebrate my parent's wedding anniversary, and I really enjoyed the food and drinks. I ordered the raw Wellfleet Oysters, the burger on a gluten-free bun with the garlic aioli, topped off with a coke and a delicious glass of rosé. We loved our waitress and Curtis behind the bar who shucks the oysters. They have plenty of gluten and dairy-free options and will even serve a basket of gluten-free bread with the regular bread. Blackfish is a very nice restaurant with a great atmosphere and delicious food. Overall I wish I could come back here more often and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food.

Another fabulous meal at Blackfish..Nice cocktail list..I enjoyed the ginger margarita and my husband enjoyed the strawberry martini - we shared the cherrystone clam appetizer ..a little too spicy for me and the bluefish Caesar salad - a nice substitute for anchovies..the lettuce rested like it just came from the garden - house made sourdough croutons..Tuna pappardelle with mascarpone cheese and lemon never disappoints ..I loved my entree lobster with gnocchi butter beans and duxelles mushrooms..our waitress as lovely - attentive and helpful..

We were recently invited by friends to join them for dinner at Moby Dicks and we accepted, excited to try it. I have to say it has been the single most impressive visit I have ever had on Cape Cod. All these years, who knew! I've eaten at Lobster Pot, CBI, the Wequassett, the Wayside, Pelham House and several other top restaurants on this peninsula and none of them have left me feeling like Moby Dicks. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot that was chock full of cars and was assisted with parking my car by a very nice young man to standing in line and being offered fresh tasty watermelon while I waited to the young woman who came around and collected our watermelon rinds to the unbelievably nice staff who kept checking on us during out meal. Who does all this these days? Speaking to the staff, I became aware of their accents. They are from all over the world...Croatia, North Africa and so many more far away places. They spoke very highly of the restaurant's owners and actually said they loved working there. This is a win win situation folks. The staff is happy which encourages them to show up for work - unlike so many places these days. This makes the bosses happy which trickles down to the customer who ends up with the best part of the deal...great food at reasonable prices and a hell of a staff to serve you! I don't do reviews but felt propelled to leave this one. Kudos to you Moby Dicks for making families, friends, couples, etc have one of the best nights of their Summer! Oh BTW, I had the blackened swordfish, my boyfriend had the whole belly clams and our friends had the captain's plate and the kabobs - all of it was fabulous and cooked perfectly. Did I mention it is BYOB? Oh yeah it is :) Don't miss it - Have a great time!

Bread oil and cheese service was amazing, fresh grated cheese as we watched. Delicious! The scallop and bacon w maple sauce was incredible, just wish there were more than 3! Fresh scallops and tasty bacon. Expensive for just 3 pieces. The chicken pasta w vodka sauce was heavenly, fresh pasta and the sauce divine, so flavorful and creamy. The shrimp florentine w linguine capers was outstanding! Large portions too! Can't rave enough. And will certainly go back next visit to Truro. Key lime pie was fresh and good but I prefer a thicker consistency and denser crust. Overall excellent experience! Highly recommend.

Delayed but better than nothing. Last night was our traditional Vaca Monday night dinner out at Montano's. I (we) had lowered expectations based on recent Yelp reviews. These low star reviews (mostly based on change of ownership after being family run for decades) you can read for yourself. (We even tried, but failed, to get into another restaurant without reservations-- See "Blackfish"). There was no wait for a table. That was a nice break from tradition, but had me wary. The place would always be jammed and there was always a wait for a table. Keep smiling, I reminded myself. 4 for Food (under-seasoned but no other noticeable change from previous visits-- still generous portions) 3.5 for Service (why does wait staff disappear?) 3 for wine list (only 1 Rose) 5 for cleanliness 4 sound / ambience (1940s big band shifted to 1960s then contemporary by the time we got the check-- seated next to a large table with social media immersed tweens and another table with a fussy baby)
