Blaze is a great value for unlimited toppings on a pizza. They have gluten free crusts and are aware of cross contamination procedures. There is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for" and the ingredients are good but not the best. Staff is not the best here either. They seem slow and uninterested in their job. Ordered two pizzas online and they where great. The estimated time I was giving was pretty much exactly on time. I had a bbq chicken pizza with red sauce and it was delicious. The store was clean when I arrived and there was a crazy line to order. Lucky for me I didn't have to wait on that line. The staff was very nice and greeted me when I walked in. Blaze is AMAZING and can cater to every food allergy and dietary restriction. It's a build your own pizza place and they have every topping imaginable! I appreciate that they have a gluten free pizza crust, and they make a conscious effort to change their gloves and use a different prep station to avoid contamination. They also have tons of vegan and vegetarian options! I usually get the vegan cheese (perfect for those with a dairy allergy or lactose intolerance), red sauce, and lots of vegetables (onions, garlic, broccoli, peppers). They also have a variety of meats, and most recently, spicy vegan chorizo! Your pizza is put in the brick oven, and comes out super crispy, hot, and fresh! I wish there wasn't such a steep charge for the gluten free crust ($3), but otherwise the pizzas are pretty decently priced considering it's customized and cooked to exactly how you want it. read more

I love Blaze, but this location just doesn't do it for me. You still get the same great taste, but the staff just want to get you in and out and don't really care about much else. I have occasionally been coming here over the past several years. The pizza chef, an older gentlemen is always here tending to pies in the open gas oven. He consistently does an outstanding job with the pies, seeing to it that they are consistently and uniformly cooked. Additionally he is always pleasant and conducts himself in a professional manner. Whatever his compensation is, he deserves a raise. He is a key employee and is the reason why I come back to the bay shore location for his five star thin crust pies. read more

However the person that I was with wasn't empresses and the hole place seemed like it needs to be kept up and cleaned a little more. The glass in front of the counter was dirty. The glass in front of the register was dirty and marked up. Went to the bathroom and the stock room was open let's just say without going into detail they should keep it closed. Basically keeping things a little cleaner would go a long way. Went in today not knowing what to expect. At first the menu seemed a little over whelming but I was immediately greeted and was given a quick tutorial of how it all works. You can either pick from the selected pizzas that they have or you could create your own. I decided to go with Veg Out Pizza. Yum!! Loved the fact that it's made to order. I love Blaze Pizza for the delicious crust and unlimited toppings when you "build your own" pizza. So many toppings to choose from: olives, pepperoni, onions, peppers, fresh garlic, spinach, banana peppers, and tons more I can't remember. I get the pesto sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, sea salt, pepper, oregano, spinach, salami and banana peppers. Delicious and yes, they are very fast! Service was very good and this location was very clean. For the price, this is an excellent pizza. I also prefer Blaze over Rev Pizza (same concept) a la Chipotle style. You pick your pizza dough. I think they might have gluten free but I'm not 100% sure. You pick your sauce, cheese and toppings. Two people with average appetites could share one pizza. I always have to bring a few slices home because I can never eat a whole personal pizza. Big fan of Blaze! read more

My mom and I both ordered the vine pizza which was essentially your standard tomato sauce, Basil, chunks of tomato and bits of mozzarella cheese. Could have used more salt and more cheese, but overall a good flavor. My sister ordered the white top pizza which she said was good. Took about 5 minutes after ordering to get the pies. Comes in a personal pie with 6 slices. Thin crust. Piping hot. They have a lot of toppings should you decide to make your own pie. We also got a side salad which was a nice size. Overall it was a nice change from a typical food court in the mall. Had take away boxes available which was nice. Would go back! read more

Pizza score: 7/10 Food Review: the style of pizza here is thin crust personal pan pizzas, even though they do have options for a thicker crust. So in that category of pizzas, I would say it is a 7 out of 10. I don't normally go to chain pizzeria places but this place has fresh ingredients, alot of meat/veggie options. The dough has alot of flavor and is soft, yet buttery which is hard to accomplish for a thinner crust pizza which could be overdone to taste like a cracker. The gas fired pizza oven is legit which I was happy about because it sends a message that they are very invested in the quality of the pizza instead of some ez-bake oven that places like Domino's have even though that's in a totally different category then blaze, Pizza wise. You can ask the guy who turns the pizza in the oven to make it as crispy or soft as you like which I love as far as customization. I also love that they have to go boxes ready to go on the side for you to take if you aren't finished with your pizza, just more efficient for the customer in my opinion. Overall for 9 bucks you could get a pretty good pizza with any choice of toppings which cost wise is amazing. Will I go back? Yes, simply bc of the really good quality for exceptional price. Interior Vibes: comfy, yet slightly rustic. This was my first time going and at first glance, the interior was very nice with orange, yellow, reddish painted walls / stained windows, I guess to go with the theme of the word blaze and colors of the fire in the pizza oven. Prices of pizzas went up a few $s, made a slight comment about it, spent $32 on three pizzas and three sodas, the manager made excuses with an attitude. We need to pay our people, you can't get these pizzas anywhere else, our pizzas taste better, fresh ingredients, etc. Really? I can get a whole Grandma's pizza for less than half that price at other places and enjoy it more. Don't think I'll be going back. This place is falling off big time! Not in pizza quality or friendly service, just overall cleanliness. Walked in today excited to eat my white pizza. And we were greeted by 3 workers with extremely long wild hair and big beards. Not against either one if the person is nicely groomed but the workers looked like they rolled out bed. Food workers should be neater I'm sorry! Pizza is what's for dinner!!!! The drink selection is the norm and the sofa fountain station is adequate. I'm not a fan of pizza chains at all. Domino's, Pizza Hut, etc, yuck! The last thing downstate NY needs is a pizza chain. However, I found myself actually not hating this one. Here, like Chipotle, you get to create your own, this time with pizza. The ingredients were fresh, especially the various cheeses and the classic sauce was pretty good too. Only gripe is the crust was a tad too thin and they were a tad skimpy with the toppings. Two 12" pizzas and two drinks cost $21, no biggie but they were skimpy. Staff seems overwhelmed by nonstop online orders, and have to be interrupted to place a walk in order. When they finally acknowledge you, your order is placed behind everyone ordering online. So you wait to place your order, then wait for it to be made, then after you pay wait again for it to be fired. So if you want your order to be ready just pay the fees to get it on the app, it's obvious thats what they're catering too. read more

Today was my first experience at Blaze!! For those who haven't been there, it sort of reminded me of a mix of Chipotle and Subway in the sense of ordering. You can build your own pizza or order a signature pizza. Those behind the counter actually seemed to ENJOY their job. They were really nice, smiling, definitely made you feel happy to be there. I'm pretty sure the owner was there making the pizzas at the counter, or he was at least a very enthusiastic manager who definitely showed his interest in the customer's experience. He even joked around with customers. You can also select pre-made salads (dated so you know how old they are) and they aren't your regular run of the mill salads. My boyfriend got a Beet and Goat Cheese salad and he said it was delicious. I got a Simple Pie, and it was wonderful and I was only disappointed that I didn't go ahead and order some toppings! There are Gluten Free dough options ($3.00 extra) as well as Vegan Cheese ($2.00 extra). There are cute little tables to sit at or you can choose to take it to go. I love the fresh mozzarella it's a huge game charger when you put banana peppers on it with bacon,chicken & Italian sausage & just some dots of ricotta cheese then you're all good. Upon walking into Blaze Pizza from the mall, you immediately step on line to begin building your custom made pizza or watch the assembly line of employees make the pizza you select from the menu. It appears very similar to Chipotle. You start with a plane pizza dough, pre-rolled out, and you can either select your own toppings or choose from the menu above. No matter what option you choose it's the same price, under $8.00. The pizza is thin crusted, individualized, and about half the size of a regular pizza pie. I personally had the pesto chicken and was able to add and elimate as many toppings as wanted. The pizza was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of crispiness.
