One of my favorite places to go for breakfast or brunch. It gets very busy on the weekends but the weekdays are good. They have valet parking for $2 which is awesome. No need to worry where to park. The customer service is ok too, as long as it's not too busy. When they get too busy they seem to forget that you are at the table and trying to order food or even might need an extra plate or napkins. Or your coffee is cold. The food is always good. They have a variety of gluten free dishes. Their sandwiches and omelettes are delicious. I was there last week and I finally got to try the French Toast and it was perfect. The right amount of crunchiness and sweetness. Will definitely order it again. Overall this place is amazing and you should give it a try. The reason I'm giving it a 4 star is for the customer service. Hopefully they will hire more staff on busy days. read more

This was absolutely, without a doubt the WORST dining experience I have ever had. I used to love Blu Jam cafe, the food is terrific. But they have a new system where there is NO service. They have you order from your phone and pay like a robot. What if two people are on a date? That's incredibly awkward!!!!!! Not to mention, the reason you GO to a restaurant is to be SERVED. This was dehumanizing and absolutely atrocious. To treat customers like robots, MacDonalds has better service, at least a human takes your order! When Covid hit, Blue Jam Cafe changed their rules. Understandable, but how long has it been? I found it very off-putting that they handed out menus, but you could only order food from the QR code, and the order would not be accepted unless you pre-paid for the meal, including tip. They would not take cash, which is probably illegal, as each bill specifically points out that "this note is legal tender for all debts, public and private". Why is it assumed that every person carries a cell phone, and is supposed to be as proficient as a 20 year old? Very rude. As far as the food goes, way too many bland potatoes to make the plate seem full. Add a little variety, perhaps? What happened to Blu Jam? This used to be my favorite breakfast place and now it's just one disappointment after another. The entire ordering system is unnecessarily complicated and I put in an order for our entire table (online) and it did go through on my card but Blu Jam had no notice of my ticket/order at all so we had to go to the counter and order and pay everything again. I was told this happened quite a lot as their online ordering system had an error. The food was alright but we found hair in one of our omelettes and the coffee used to be stronger and a lot better. With all of that and their prices still being very high, we at least hoped for good service but that's also not the case. All in all I cannot recommend Blu Jam anymore and it's just very sad. So we came here for breakfast this morning with a couple friends. I'm really getting tired of places where you have to order off your damn phone (can't modify any dishes) and have it crash halfway through the order. I went to go have breakfast with my fiance. I was surprised to the changes. First you have to pay when you order not a real issue there. But it feels like a lack of customer service. How can I tip when I'm paying for my food in advance with no real show of service. Plus I wanted to order the salmon hash to only be told they run out of salmon the day before. I gotta start off by saying this rating hurts to make because my food was good, but this place is really disorganized and honestly so chaotic. I'm super disappointed because I've heard great things about it, and the chefs are great. Whoever curated the menu deserves their flowers, but honestly, the way this place is set up isn't great at all. Parking is horrible as it's in a busy busy area and they have a tiny lot of maybe 6-8 cars? Then upon walking up there was one employee who took our name down, luckily we didn't wait long which was nice. Now the bad part..... you don't technically have a server, waiter, or waitress because it's all done digitally. For one, how does a brunch/breakfast spot NOT HAVE MAPLE SYRUP ?! Would have been great paired with syrup, but they don't offer it. I'd understand as a chef standpoint if maybe the vanilla sauce is what the chef paired it with, but not making the option available is kind of crazy to me. We weren't asked a single time if our food was okay because once you order from the tablet, someone brings you your food, then nobody comes after that because there's no waiter or waitress available. Then I tried to pay with part cash and part card. When I asked the random person who brought us our food, they said they weren't sure. Then time passed, and finally, they said, "No cash because it's all done on the tablet." I mean, I'm all for efficiency and all, but it truly ruins the dining experience, and that's just from my perspective. The fact we can't ask anyone for extras or for help or if there was an issue had people confused because it seemed their only job was to serve us the food. Now, on that note, the French toast was GREAT! Soft interior with a crispy crunchy exterior, and it was cooked perfectly. The vanilla sauce was a nice topping but didn't provide the flavor or taste a French toast should taste like. I'd definitely think that syrup would have been amazing, and that's just my opinion, but hey, what can you do? If I were to make any recommendations I'd definitely say order to go, so you avoid the bad parking, and avoid the lack of personal dinning experience I'd expect from a high priced place like blue jam Cafe. The French toast will run you $17 dollars which is pretty hefty. My girlfriend got chilaquiles, which was $18 dollars (not pictured) which was pretty good although portions were tiny for the price tag. Side of salsa cost you $1.50, and if you want OJ without refills, it will cost you $7. We both went for the latte and iced Chai. The latte was prepped nicely and had a cool design the coffee was great and not acidic or bitter. The iced Chai was delicious and tasty i just wish they didnt cram soo much ice in it because it was gone in about 3 sips. I don't mind the price point if the experience matches. I've spent far more for breakfast in the past, but my experience was worth the cost. The food was great, and I don't want this review to take away from the amazing chefs' inspiration and creative recipes, but my thoughts and suggestions would be to order for pick up. Avoid the parking, get your tasty food and eat it wherever you like. Great food and I will leave it at that. Kudos to the chef. read more

We sat at a two top across from the bathroom entrance and ordered the Crunchy French Toast and California omelet with no cheese and no sour cream. Everything was delicious! The French toast was very good and not overly sweet, and the vanilla bean cream was just perfect! The omelet was very well cooked and had a ridiculous amount of bacon too! We loved the crispy potatoes, homemade ketchup and jam, and the habanero hot sauce bottle on the table. Our server was great! She was very prepared when we asked what ingredients were in different food items and she was very attentive. We've had this place bookmarked for a while and are glad we came. This is my first time dining in for brunch on a weekend. I usually drive down to the Valley for brunch. Tips: 1. Sign up on their Yelp Waitlist as early as possible for the wait time is long, especially on a weekend. 2. Limited Parking is located at the back of the restaurant. You can also park on the street (2 hr.) or no time limit a fee blocks down by residential streets. 3. For ordering your food and drink, they prefer contactless ordering by scanning the QR code on your table and place the order and pay on your phone. There may some flaws in the system so you can head over to the front entrance and place your order there. 4. Food is quite expensive but the portions were just right. I ordered the Crunchy French Toast (with berries on the side and extra vanilla bean sauce) and a side of Chicken Sausage (not pictured). Both were very tasty. I went inside to use the restroom and there's another covered patio that's considered "indoor" that they use for overflow during the pandemic. That area was so cute and well decorated.
