So of course I had to order it when I had brunch there for the first time the other weekend. And, I'm sorry, it did not live up to the hype. I was not a fan of how dry the french toast was. Then the vanilla bean sauce was way too watery in consistency for me. It was more like milk than an actual sauce. Maybe I just had a bad batch? I hope so because it sounds and looks like it would be delicious. For the savory part of the meal, I ordered the Blu Jam Benedict. Everything about the dish was good, except for the hollandaise sauce. It had this weird tang to it that I've never tasted with any other benedicts I've had before. The lemon should be very light in the sauce, and not leave you with a weird after taste. All in all, it's a 3 for me. I am curious to try these dishes at other locations of Blu Jam Cafe. read more

One of my absolute favorite brunch places in LA, previously I'd only been to the Hollywood location but this Sherman Oaks location is just as awesome. First, Sherman oaks is generally less crowded. They have a cheap valet for $4.50. Crunchy French toast is always a hit- vanilla sauce is light and not too sweet and the crunch is always good on the toast. Migas is my personal favorite. It easily stretches itself into two meals. Order a side of avocado with this. Orange juice is always freshly squeezed and the offer oat milk as a milk alternative for coffees. They have an adorable outside patio that is covered. Bring your dog! Service was great. I will def be back. read more

The server took it back in professional manner but.. ewwww And the valet parking.. they put the wrong ticket/number on our car key and they pulled off someone else's car when we are about to head out. This place is super busy all the time, so this is a convenient way to put your name in and then show up and eat! There are Not many syrup items- pancakes, French toast, etc... which I found to be weird. Our server also said, "The pancakes are dry and not the best" to us. Wait, what? Who says that? This is a great brunch spot in LA! Came here around 11 am and placed our name on the waitlist. There was 11 parties ahead of us, which went pretty quickly but I realized I could have saved some time by waiting on the waitlist on yelp. I got the crunchy French toast, eggs Florentine Benedict and ginger shots (free with yelp check in). The ginger shot was delicious! I honestly would come back and pay tons of money for it! It was perfectly spicy, tangy and sour and delicious! I wish it was bottled up so I could buy some to take home. The crunchy French toast was really good. It was so soft and moist on the inside and perfectly crunchy on the outside. It was even better with the side of what tasted like cereal milk. It wasn't anything super spectacular but it was really good and worth trying. The eggs Florentine was also amazing! I usually don't like eggs Benedict without salmon but the mushrooms were so good. We expected that we'll be seated immediately but were so disappointed. My party ended up leaving because they needed to leave and drive for Washington state (a 20-hour drive). I felt embarrassed. I wanted to show them a breakfast place that I love. The whole place is very small. The manager told me that there was only one table capable of seating 6 people. Ordered the crunchy French toast, chilaquiles and huevos rancheros per reviews and waiter rec's. Was looking forward to the Crunchy French toast the most but it was unfortunately overrated. It is just wheat toast in a crispy coating and tasted plain. We felt that maybe with maple syrup it would help but were sad to learn that the restaurant does not carry any. A little bit of spinach, perfect smoked salmon, topped with a hollandaise with a little fresh lemon and cayenne for pop, topped with a touch of fresh dill. The finely diced potatoes were perfectly cooked, not greasy, with a little fresh chive for flavor. The bacon was spectacular. The French press coffee was excellent. I would recommend to use Yelp to make a reservation for yourself and your party before you leave your house or on your way to this location. They have great drink options as well as baked goods. This place used to be AMAZING but over the last few years it's gone down hill. I believe after they reopened from covid they changed their service module. Needless to say, I am not a fan of this style. You order from your smart phone and have little to no interaction with the servers as a result. I ordered takeout today which was difficult. At maybe 9 before they opened I was able to order for pickup at 10 when then opened. When I tried to place my order at 945 the online order option was unavailable. I ended up going into the restaurant to place a to go order. I got the eggwhich or egg sandwich I don't remember the name and asked the server if I could add meat like turkey and she said I could add bacon which confused me because the sandwich already comes standard with bacon. Anyways, got the breakfast sandwich as is. About 30 minutes later when I finally get my food the same server hand delivered it to me and was very sweet. I also ordered the crunchy french toast which I used to LOVE. I asked for extra of the sauce, only got 2 which I think is the standard for an order (unsure but even 2 wasn't enough for the amount of food). The biggest shock and confusion to me was the "sauce" that used to be creamy and sauce like was actually gelatinous. The consistency was that of coconut jello or something the texture was very off putting and made the french toast not very enjoyable. Overall sad by their latest service model and food. read more
