    Breakfast burrito

We were looking for a casual breakfast spot with a view, and near the airport. Blue Wave fit the criteria. The outside patio area overlooks the Marina and it was so nice to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Their breakfast burrito was tasty as was the cold brew. The server made a suggestion to try the house made salsa verde on the side and I loved it so much he even gave me more to take to go. We will definitely keep this spot in mind for the next time we're in the area.

The food is absolutely delicious and the outside seating was really relaxing. I had a Caesar salad which was so good, my son had their wings which were cooked to perfection, my friend had a French onion dip burger which was soooo delicious (sorry no picture) and we also tried their fondue cheeseburger which was also perfectly cooked ( also no picture) . I would give it 5 stars except they messed up on the burger that I ordered twice but in the end that fondue cheeseburger was a perfect mess up because I would definitely order it again. The service is amazing and very friendly. I will definitely be eating here again before my vacation is done.

Really enjoyed my time at Blue Wave Bar & Grill! The food was very tasty and came out fresh, and the service was friendly and attentive. We also got the Monday Burger Deal where you get any burger and beer for $20 (forgot to take a picture). The best part has to be the beautiful view of the marina--it makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a great spot to relax, have a good meal, and take in the scenery.

Enjoyed our meal from appetizer to dessert. The avocado tacos and caramel apple pie were the stars. We also enjoyed the burger and the soup and salad. We had a cloudy day but the views were still pretty.

My husband and I weren't sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised. First off, I loved that the waiter brought out coffee syrup and cream for my iced cold brew. My husband ordered a breakfast burrito and I the short ribs with chimmichuri. I thought it was more shallot than anything though, and my husband thought the burritos potato ratio was a little high. Both were delicious anyhow, and he even said he'd have mine next time.

Mostly good food here. The bacon breakfast burritos were top notch, but the Pico de gallo was old, ask for salsa. The pancakes were rubbery. So go for the French toast. Smoothie is a skip.

At 2:00pm on a Saturday, this place is empty between shifts. Perfect for a late lunch! There is indoor and outdoor seating available, which is perfect for July in San Diego. Just a heads up, it is right next to the pool (so it can be loud outside with kids off for the summer). We had a few sharables, but it was the fillet mignon taco that stood out the most. The sauce really makes it! I also really enjoyed the poke salad. There was a generous serving of ahi tuna on top that really made me feel satisfied with my selection. The pickled onion were a great compliment to the bed of mixed greens and seaweed salad for the base. Overall, this was a really pleasant experience for family visiting me from out of town. They really enjoyed the view of the harbor.

    Nice view.

Looks good, but sadly the food is sub par. Even my mixed drink was disappointing. The cardinal sin? No espresso drinks. Apparently there is an espresso vending machine in the lobby but it is only available for a limited time period per day and not in the early morning.

Came here for some drinks, met Teresa at the bar and she is such a gem!! She is the sweetest bartender ever, made such amazing drinks, and made us feel so welcome. Thank you Teresa for the hospitality!! We will be back for you!!!

We stay twice a year for the last 17 years their breakfast is outstanding. The service is great.

Parked boat at public dock and walked to this restaurant. Ordered: painkiller frozen drink, fried calamari, Mac n cheese dippers, table side guacamole . Everything was good. Chips n guacamole was my favorite the chips are seasoned and were super tasty. Service was a little slow but it's ok. We sat outside you could see the pool and marina. Kinda quiet but I think they have live music later on in the day.

Thanks for the good food and service

My Son visited a store nearby and we decided to dine here after. The weather was good, it wasn't too hot or cold, so we sat outdoors. Their outdoor seating is very limited, but it has a nice view and also has a very relaxing vibe. It didn't take long to get service here, the moment we sat, there was already a server ready with his Pen to get our orders, and we ordered: *BULGOGI STYLE SHORT RIB *PINA COLADA *DEATH BY CHOCOLATE *FISH & CHIPS *CHICKEN MILANESE My PINA COLADA was very good. I had the BULGOGI SHORT RIB , it was a good portion and was so Flavorful. The Meat was so tender and easy to pull apart. The Flavor was so strong, I like it. It's savory with a light hint of citrus and sweetness, I love it! Oh and the mashed potato with it was yummy ! Unfortunately my Son's CHICKEN MILANESE and my husband's FISH and CHIPS were lacking in Flavor, they kept adding salt or pepper or ketchup or whatever they could grab to season their food. Gladly at the end their dessert was so good, the quality of the chocolate was very rich. Some of the foods hit and some didn't. But their Dessert Death by Chocolate and especially their Bulgogi Short Rib were the ones I will come back for.

Which is fascinating, because The Good Egg has this very visible sign right when you walk in praising their 2023 Beacon Readers Choice Awards for the area's best breakfast. This is not an award-winning restaurant or experience. The first feeling I had was that the Good Egg reminded me of a hotel restaurant. The ambiance and decor are generic and stale. The team barely gave a good morning when I walked in, and I noticed they had the same nonchalant attitude toward other guests. I will say that that I was impressed with the cleanliness, and the menu is extensive. with breakfast and brunch served daily. The menu features lighter options, like yogurt parfaits and avocado toast, a variety of Eggs Benedict, hearty skillets, classic breakfast plates, omelettes and Southwestern-inspired dishes, such as chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. They also have pancakes, a Belgian waffle and French toast on the menu. It seems the stuffed French toast is popular. There are also sandwiches, wraps, melts and salads. They also seem vegetarian and kid-friendly. But, goodness, the food is quite bland. It has no soul in it. I will say that the bacon is outstanding. But all else -- underwhelming.

Tried it out today on a Sunday we were sat around 1:30 towards the tail end of the lunch rush so it was pretty chaotic. The entire time we noticed all the servers were quite slow and often congregating in groups to chat with each other, meanwhile it seemed that the busboys were the only ones putting in effort. Our waitress greeted us twice asking us what we wanted for drinks double, so I completely understand being exhausted from an all morning shift, however all the waiting staff seemed low battery so no clue if they're understaffed and these are all just Summer jobs or what but the only energy in that dining room was ONLY coming from the busboys. Especially since we had to wait quite a while to even be greeted by our waitress after being sat and then even more time for her to come back to then "welcome" us again as if she forgot she had already spoken to us. Very disappointed that the shakshuka only comes with 3 mini pita slices (especially bc I spotted an image posted on here of the same order in June with double the amount of pita). I asked our waitress for more bread, which she DID end up adding to our bill and then NEVER delivering it--also pretty peeved she didn't mention it would be an extra cost when I asked. Flavor of the food is all there, just really wish the atmosphere and energy of the servers would match it--definitely spoiled our experience for sure having a server who did not provide us a fair amount of attention and an extra unnecessary $3 charge for the additional bread we never received. The bathrooms were also filthy with toilet paper across the floor everywhere and soiled toilets.
