This place was not good. Paid $19 for the "Big Brekkie" and it tasted as unappetizing as it looked. Also got the toast bar--$6 for two pieces of toast and a 1/2 scoop of regular butter butter and a scoop of regular jam is crazy. They also have their sugar sitting on each table in a reusable glass jar of some sort that just looks dingy/dirty and that any customer could contaminate (even if by accident). I asked for sugar packets and the woman seemed annoyed but oh well. If the jar didn't look the way it did maybe I would have used it. Extra hard pass on this place. The food is decent but the service is horrible. Hostess told me... yes, TOLD me to sit at a table then when I accidentally attempted to sit elsewhere, she gave me an attitude for not sitting where she told me. Then there's the 6 foot something waiter who speaks quietly and with a high pitch, but utterly refuses to lean over when speaking so he is literally 4 feet from my seated height. This I couldn't hear a word he spoke. When I needed him to repeat himself - he SIGHED, as if I asked him to do something monumental. The attitude is utterly offensive. Probably one of the healthiest breakfast places I've been to! We came in at a weird time so there was no wait. The interior was really cute and cozy but seating could spread out a little: I could barely pull out my chair because of the table behind us. We ordered the Big Brekkie and PLATE with a side of potato wedges. Everything was very lightly seasoned and not too filling. Potatoes could use a bit more seasoning but with the hot sauce they were great. They did forget to take the tomatoes out for me but it wasn't a big issue. Love this cafe. Sat outside with my son and his friends from GW. Ordering was easy using the QR code provided at the table and paying was immediate on the same site. The food was delivered quickly to the table. Ingredients were fresh. This is going to be a go to when I want a noursihing meal close to the GW campus. This is the second Bluestone location that I have visited this year and I am extremely impressed. Unique breakfast options that are simply delicious. Great coffee, cappuccino and juices. And one of the most incredible staffs. I'm not sure what training the owner has set up with his staff but in the 2 locations I have dined in I am just blown away by the professionalism and general personalities of the staff. This Australian theme cafe/restaurant is located in a nice corner of a swanky residential neighborhood. It offers a large outside as well as an airy atrium-like inside dinning room. The Big Brekker (breakfast) I ordered had two poached eggs on top of a thick multigrain slice of toasted bread and a generous serving of Avocado. There is also a large side of tasty cooked spinach with mushroom and garden tomato. A hearty brunch for $19 plus a $3.50 cup of almost double size latte. Came here to find a spot to spend my afternoon reading a book and people watching. The interiors are spacious and very nice and bright. The windows allow for a lot of natural light making the place a must visit for breakfast or brunch. The only thing I tried and will definitely go back for is their cappuccino. I was pretty disappointed with the big brekkie, which includes avocado smash. It was hidden under some greens and there was not much avocado at all. Bluestone Lane was in a great location and had a wonderful atmosphere. We sat right next to their floor to ceiling windows and got to enjoy the views and morning sunshine. It was a great way to start our day. As for their food, I had the proscuitto and egg roll, and a double shot espresso. Both came out cold as if it had been sitting on the counter for minutes. The bread on the sandwich was on the stale hard to bite and chew side of the spectrum - it could have most definitely benefited from being toasted prior to assembly. I'd come back to have the baked goods that they offer. Keep in mind, these are bought from another bakery. read more

Awful experience for the first time at this location. Very disappointed. I went to brunch with a friend there, I order my food and I took more than an hour to serve me, my friend already had hers. I went to ask for my order TWICE and the ladies at the register told me they already checked with the kitchen staff, that they don't have nothing to do with them. Finally, they brought me my order in a BOX TO GO!! when I never asked for to go. They took it back to the kitchen and put my food in a plate. We walked in and stood in line behind one group of three (we also were three) and were told, with little confidence, "15 minutes" by the Asian "hostess." The group ahead was seated and as we waited our turn the group of four, behind us, was seated first. Slightly perplexed, we waited until she called us. Admittedly, one in our group is using a knee-scooter and has a soft cast on due to surgery. As she points to our table I inform her that we will not fit. It is a standard two-person table in the middle of other tables with a third chair. She looks lost and perplexed that we won't take the table. We sit back down and wait another ten minutes. We get back up and she walks over and points to a table. I can't remember if I've ever been pointed to a table. Fortunately (depending on how you look at it) we were not subjected to, seemingly, irregular discourteous service. As we passed the group of three that sat before us, they were seated at a table for two. Also, after we were seated, she was pointing another customer to a table (there was some confusion on his part of which table...but she held her ground with her pointed finger). Once we were seated, Austin was very attentive and provided great service. The food was delicious. I had the avocado toast with poached egg. It definitely wasn't a short wait, but it was worth it. Overall, a nice place. Unfortunately, the first part of the visit is prohibitive of returning. It's apparent the hostess was not trained or trained poorly. I visiting DC and finally found a coffee place that actually roast their own beans. I am bit of a coffee snob since Iam from California I pretty particular in my taste for coffee. Bluestone Lame hands down beat all the coffee joints I've tried in the DC area. I order the flat white with oat milk and best mate bowl. Flat white tasted delicious still able to taste the espresso notes. The bowl was delicious also good portions great atmosphere clean facilities and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. From the floor to the high ceilings inundated with blue and green accents. My boyfriend wanted decaf and they use Swiss water method which was a huge plus, for those who care! I ordered a latte ($4) and the barista called me over to choose between a swan and a bunny to draw on my coffee! I thought it was such a sweet, personable service even for a single cup of latte. The decaf tasted amazing, very bold and smooth. The latte lacked flavor for me but it had a cute bunny so I was still happy like a child. The café is connected to the public library which I thought was interesting but what a great idea so you can read books while enjoying their coffee :) I would like to come back to try their food next time! read more

Bluestone Lane in this location has deteriorated.Though the staff are very nice, unfortunately they are not taking the orders accurately. We asked for decaf coffee and got caffeinated. I asked for extra hot coffee and got it lukewarm. We asked for almond milk and got cows milk. The order for the coffee came after the food. All in all, this was not a great experience. Management needs to train the staff more effectively so they do the orders accurately. The product is very good but it needs to come as a customer orders it read more

I went to Soul Cycle for the 6am class on a Friday before work with my boyfriend and we were looking for a place to eat breakfast. I remembered that Bluestone Lane was about a block away and I had been meaning to try it so we decided to head over. We got there right as they opened at 7:30am and sat outside. I ordered an iced latte which had the perfect ratio of milk to espresso. I didn't even need to add any sugar. To eat I got the green baked eggs which had chimichurri, cherry tomatoes, spinach, portobello mushrooms & feta all served in a hot skillet w/ multigrain toast. I am so happy I ordered this! It was healthy but also tasted delicious. The toast was thick cut and was perfect to dipping and scraping the bottom of the skillet. I have been to thee locations in DC - Georgetown: seating is not good, very limited indoors and a couple outdoors - the one near GW: plenty of seatings indoors and outdoors and it is more like a sit down place with waiting staff - DuPont: my personal favorite I tried the macha latte and it was great! Creamy, not sweet and high-quality of matcha powder. It sures comes with a price tag but nice to try. Give yourself a treat! read more
