BLVD. Moving is the worst. I had several pieces of furniture broken including an antique armoire. Boxes were not labeled with contents. Delivery sucked and I was not notified 24 hours before delivery. They just showed up. Furniture and boxes were dumped into whatever room they felt like it because "they had another job". They misquoted the price and then wanted another $6K to move me. In addition they want to be paid before they unload which I refused to do until I saw everything come off the truck. They left all their trash in my garage which I had to deal with. Half the boxes that should have been inside were left in the garage and I had to hire men to move boxes and furniture because nothing was in the correct place. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! read more

stay away !!!!!!Absolutely the worst......looked like they were pros until delivery day. Workers opened boxes and redustributed items. Many treasures lost i.e. antiques, broke every lamp....tried to disassemble what was a one piece. Wrote letters, complained after 2 yrs nothing. I had $2000 worth of damage. Additionslly, they wouldn't take furniture off truck untill i paid another $900 because i used plastic bins instead of cardboard. Go with a better co. It will cost you less in the end. The movers were right on time and called me on my cellphone from the parking. They all were wearing masks. They were very professional and careful in wrapping and covering my furniture with plastic and blankets before loading them to the truck. I had a large heavy and ornated maple bookcase and a desk that I love and have been using them in my office for the past 27 years. BLVD Moving Company picked up my items on September 6th, 2020 and did not deliver them until November 6th, 2020. When they picked up my belongings they raised the price an additional $1400.00 above the binding quote they gave me. They held my belongings in their warehouse for two months. They gave me excuses for not delivering sooner because of Covid and mechanical problems, and yet they have many complaints for this samescenario way before Covid. When they finally delivered my belongings, my Christmas tree box was missing and a Christmas ornament box the lid was missing and all of the handmade Christmas ornaments inside were stolen. I sell these ornaments in my business and now have incurred $358 in loss of sales for these items. Ironic that the Christmas tree box and Christmas ornaments are missing together. They aren't missing, they were stolen from a taped closed box! I will be filing a police report as well as complaints to BBB, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Consumer Affairs and probably small claims court. I wrote a few weeks ago about a bad experience I had with BLVD. It wasn't about the actual move or movers, they were excellent. It was about estimate versus actual charges, and some high prices for boxes. Mind you, this was my second move with them, so I was a bit surprised how long it took to get a partial credit. After a dispute on my Discover card did not go in my favor, I wrote on Yelp about the situation (quite long and involved). The Yelp review caused the management to contact me, and issue a credit for the hourly rate that was mis-charged. I truly appreciated this, but no mention of a couple other issues. Being a real estate agent with many contacts, I recommended BLVD over and over again, and I still would for the quality of the move, and the great guys that are employed. It's best to keep your written estimate handy on the day of the move and talk to them ahead of time about their box charges. Maybe have extra boxes handy if they need them because you won't be happy paying $45 for a large box. Overall I will give them 3 stars, simply because it took so long and many hours to make something right that was definitely a big wrong. read more

This is my first ever Yelp review and a very special experience brought me here.. my partner and I were moving from SF to NYC and we contracted with Proud American Van Lines. Turns out we didn't do our research and they were actually a broker (our bad) who sold our contract to BLVD moving. When we found out BLVD moving was going to be the ones actually performing the move, we read the reviews and freaked out - ransoming stuff, awful damage, wild delays, etc. - so we tried to cancel the move. Matt Freedman, one of the Sales VPs at BLVD, called to build confidence with us and promised that they would take good care of our stuff and that he would be our contact every step of the way in the process (from pick up to drop off). I feel very naive for believing him. Here is a quick rundown of our experience: 1. Awful customer service during the move process - after 3 weeks of waiting for our stuff, we began contacting BLVD regularly for updates. Not only were they unable to give us any information (they legit had no idea where our stuff was at any given time - super reassuring), but they also regularly changed our delivery window (difficult when you've moved into a building who requires a scheduled move) and they continuously promised to call us back the next day with more info and never once did. Frustrating, but I get that moving companies are dealing with wild amounts of logistics and whatnot, so I could have let this slide, but... 2. When we finally received our stuff, they delivered a completely busted dresser, a cracked 65" TV, and a demolished bookcase (the shelves were legitimately ripped out) - BLVD contracted out to have the stuff actually delivered by a couple of non-affiliated guys (who were very nice) and they were flabbergasted by the damage, which tells you something 3. We get that things get broken in a move, so we went to file a claim - turns out that things like our fairly new TV are not covered because they "are not liable for electronics" - this was probably something we could have researched beforehand, but it seems ridiculous regardless 4. Once we agreed to not cancel and these problems starting popping up, Matt Freedman was nowhere to be seen and stopped replying to all email - his sales tactic worked and I'm wildly disappointed that that's how they run their business. OK, my rant is over - if I could go back, I would 1000% contract with a more reputable company because we are ultimately paying far more to replace our stuff and we prob lost years of our life due to the stress (kind of kidding, kind of serious). ALERT! Stay away from this company by all means. It is a nightmare to work with this company. They picked up my household goods on Dec-16 2022 from Seattle. For 4 weeks they did NOT give me any update regarding delivery window. Whenever I called to follow-up, they kept saying they were still within the 21 business days delivery window. After I waited for 4 weeks without my household goods, they gave me a delivery window and delivered on Jan-22 2023 (it took them total of 6+ weeks to deliver after pick-up date), and my $600 TV stand was broken and a $1800 recliner's chair's leather is fully damaged. Imagine living in uncertainty for 6 weeks whether they will ever deliver your goods. Do yourself a favor, and hire different company. This company is not a professional moving company. I scheduled a move on September 14th, 2023. I agreed to a minimum of 4 hours for 3 professional movers and a truck. Based on my recent 3 moves, this job could have and should have been done within the 4 hours. However, I was not sent professional movers. Not even close. The primary gentleman I dealt with during the move did his best. But he was saddled with two early twenty something boys that obviously had zero experience and even less interest in working with a purpose. I expressed my frustration and explained that I agreed to pay a rate of $160 per hour for THREE PROFESSIONAL MOVERS. I was sent one older gentleman and two children. I found the way this company operates is pathetic. It ended up costing almost double what I was anticipating. They quoted a much lower amount that undercut every other company I received quotes from. I should have known better. Moving is stressful enough, and I am disgusted with the amount of money I paid this company. Since the children that were sent to my house were incapable of moving my property completely, I was stuck doing a large portion of the move myself. Not to mention I began to move things to show what I was expecting. The reason I wanted to hire movers is because I did not want the added stress. Hiring this company backfired miserably. All of these reviews are absolutely fake. Even Yelp has a flag on their page for posting their own reviews. Whatever you do, avoid using this company at ALL COSTS. Don't make the mistake of justifying using them because they're on Angie's List. Your stuff will get pushed around, broken, put in storage for a month, picked up and delivered late, and you will be lied to continuously. Also, depending on who your moving crew is and what time they show up to pick up your stuff, they will add all kinds of additional charges, claim your furniture is bigger than what they had on the quote, and they will extort you for tip money because they know you're in a predicament and need your stuff moved no matter what. I wish I would have done something to get my deposit back after reading the bad reviews I saw on Yelp and Google. Unfortunately my choices and time frame were limited as I was moving cross-country from LA to Texas. Like most other reviewers, it started off ok. The sales people in the office seemed helpful and friendly, but you will soon find out that every single one of them is an incompetent liar. They will make you "promises" on when your stuff will get delivered and picked up, and that you will not need additional insurance because they "rarely ever" have stuff that gets broken. All total bullshit. In the beginning before signing anything, I facetimed with ***** and showed her everything in my apartment that I wanted to be moved. She saw with her own eyes every piece of furniture and marked it accordingly. Later when the movers came to get everything, I found out most everything on the sheet was marked incorrectly and that the cubic feet of every item would need to be increased. That night, at 8PM - 4 hours after my pickup window, the day before my flight to leave the city, my quote went from 3k to almost 9k. A $6,000 increase for my bed set that was left off the original quote, small tables the sales associate marked as "nightstands" that they actually changed to "cubic storage" (one of these ended up being broken and destroyed upon delivery), and my 3 piece sectional was slightly bigger than they anticipated. ******, who was in charge of the crew picking up my items, said he would "cut me a deal" on my new already-complete-bullshit quote and lower it by about $2,000 if I agreed to pay him and his guys a healthy tip amount. He specified he wanted $200 for himself (he wouldn't take any amount lower) and $50 for each of the guys. That's fucking extortion. I was left with no choice since the office was closed at the hour they showed up and I was leaving the next day, ****** knew this and took advantage of it. My final charges were around $6,700 with the tip they demanded. Keep in mind, I had a small 2 bedroom apartment and one of the bedrooms was empty. The entire pickup crew were a bunch of clowns. None were wearing masks, and ****** was verbally hostile and manipulative. They dented walls, scuffed floors and treated the apartment I was moving out of with no regard. I later found out that my property manager found one of the crew members smoking weed in the laundry room of my apartment complex, WHILE ON THE JOB MOVING MY THINGS. When they finished, they assured me my ready-by date on my contract was December 26th, 2021, and I should receive my stuff around the last week of December. I called the second-to-last week of December for an update on my delivery, to find out they changed my ready-by date to January 6th. You will have to call to get any updates on anything, they won't call you. By law, I had a 25 business-day window that my stuff would be delivered by, which was Dec. 26 - Jan. 14. I finally received my stuff on January 13th, a day before the window ended. Pathetic. My stuff sat in storage for nearly a month. Furniture was returned to me chipped, stripped by tape removal, water-damaged, and a TV and multiple items were broken beyond repair. The crew that delivered my items were much more professional, and I would like to say that Jorge and his guys were great. Overall, this was a horrible experience and I will do whatever I can to prevent other people from making the mistake that I did by using them. read more

Great experience . The movers- Sylvester and his partner(can't think of his name) did an amazing job. They were professional, detailed, and efficient. They arrived on time with mask and extra packing materials. The hourly rates are reasonable and comparable to other local moving companies. It took them about 3.5 hrs to move our belongings into a 2 bdrm condo. It was a local move, so it was not a far distance to drive from one place to another. It's best if you pay with cash being that they do charge a 3.5% transaction fee for cards , which can add up to an extra 15-20 when your total is in the 400-500$ range, which is money that can be used to tip your movers instead. read more

We used BLVD Movers just to move our large furniture and items that wouldn't fit in my SUV. These guys were rock stars! We had a 2 man team with Richard leading. These guys went above and beyond: were courteous, funny, and FAST! They wrapped everything in blankets and shrink wrap and were super careful to not bang walls or doors. We will definitely use this company again the next time we need to move. read more

I thought I was going to have to take some of my staff myself because it needed extra care but these guys came ready to wrap, accommodate well and quickly all of my staff. A huge plus - they were ok with all my requests after moving things into new place I changed my mind about placing furniture and they were happy to help - gosh I don't see that anymore so I'm amazed and happy so I had to ask for their names in case if you want to make sure you want the same service. Just don't do it. They are not worth the trouble, and I would not recommend them to ANYONE. When the movers got there on the day of the move, they told us it would cost us DOUBLE the original price (making claims like: "this desk is not large it's extra large?!!"). So know that the price they give you on the phone and email contract is not set until the movers come. This was never told to us. We ended up getting charged only slightly more than the original price promised to us after ARGUING FOR HOURS over the phone with the office and threatening to use a different service. After arguing and negotiation for hours, finally the movers started signing the formal paperwork with the new price, going through each section. They lied about the insurance coverage options and did not specify the details of it. Then, two of our items (including an expensive desk) arrived broken- because they had tried to dismount it and clearly RIPPED IT APART. Because of the the type of wood, they were accountable for NONE of the damage. The movers lied to us and said we should tip them well for them to help us lower the price- behind the office's back?? This was very sketchy. Overall, they got away with doing a terrible job. You might think you can outsmart their system but it's not worth your time, or monetary losses you may incur. I moved from Fremont, CA to the Portland, OR metro area back in June. Without a doubt the WORST moving experience I have ever had. If it was possible I would give them a ZERO star rating. Here's why: 1. The appraiser/sales rep sent me a "binding contract" offer for BLVD to move my belongings for a little bit over $4200. The movers showed up as promised and everything was fine until it came time to pay the first half. The driver/team lead informed that my belongings exceeded the estimate by 440 cubic feet and that I needed to pony up an additional $2400 to compensate for the difference. I was physically and mentally exhausted from all the preparations, so I grudgingly caved in and paid the additional money. After all it seemed that they had me over a barrel, since I had to be out of the house within three days. 2. I arrived in Oregon on the 11th of June and was ready to receive my furnishings on the 12th as agreed to in the contract. The "binding contract" specified that BLVD was to deliver my belongings no later than June 20th. On the 19th I called the BLVD dispatch office to find out if my stuff would be arriving by tomorrow the 20th. I was given a clerical run around and told someone would call me back. They never did. On the 20th I called again and was informed that my stuff would arrive sometime the following week. I pointed out that the contract I signed had specified delivery no later than the 20th and asked how were they prepared to compensate me for the delay. I was told they would pay $35 per night for each day past the specified delivery window. Who are they kidding...$35 a day for me and my grown son? The only way two people can eat on that is doing the "value menus" at fast food joints. Ridiculous! 3. After several additional phone calls to BLVD I get a call from the delivery driver saying he and his associate will arrive on Friday the 28th (i.e.; eight additional nights beyond the delivery window). He asks me if I think a 53 foot semi trailer rig can get to and from my house without issue. I tell him that I am NOT nor ever have been a big rig truck driver, so I am not qualified to offer an opinion on that. He tells me that he will be arriving around 9 AM on the 28th and ends the call. A little bit after 12 PM the driver and his partner arrive driving a U-Haul rental truck. He informs me that he decided against bringing his rig to the house and would use a shuttle truck instead. I say whatever and they proceed to unload the contents. I soon realize that quite a bit of my stuff is not on the truck and the driver tells me they will have to do a second run. Also, there are about 5 or six containers/open items they unload that do not belong to me, which makes me realize their inventory control is piss poor at best. 4. After finishing the first load they take off and arrive back at my house around 5:30 PM with the rest of my stuff. That's when the driver asks for the 2nd half of the payment and asks me how I intend to pay for the additional $770 for them using a shuttle. My head is about to explode with rage and I angrily say that I was not the one who decided to use a rental truck to shuttle my furnishings. Be that as it may, the driver says I'm on the hook for the charge and they won't unpack the truck until the matter is settled. As a "good faith" gesture the driver drops the charge to $700 and realizing that once again I was over a barrel on the matter I pull out a VISA card since I don't have a cashier's check or $700 cash on me. He takes the card, calls in the info to his dispatcher, and I get a receipt for the $700 PLUS a 3.5% surcharge for using a credit card. The movers finish unloading the truck around 7:30 PM and the driver casually mentions to me that he thought it was very odd that they had taken my belongings to their warehouse in Los Angeles instead of holding them in the Bay Area for transit to Oregon. In other words, if I had not started pitching a bitch about getting my stuff it probably would have stayed in LA for another week or two. 5. The following week I call BLVD to find what needs to be done to file a claim. In fairness almost all of my belongings arrived in good condition. Only a couple of items were the worse for wear. The did manage to lose a 6 foot fiberglass step ladder for which I paid $50 at a sale. (The same ladder currently retails for $75 at Ace Hardware.) By my calculation I should receive $330 compensation ($50 for the ladder and 8 X $35 for eight days outside the delivery window). Long story short, after almost four months of delay I received an email this morning saying that I'm entitled to $149.60 of compensation. This is an absolute joke! After increasing the cost of my move from $4200 to over $7500 and countless delays on their part one would think they would happily kick back $330 to end this matter. If you're getting ready to move, do yourself a favor and don't hire BLVD! read more

Once our stuff got cross country, things were missing and we filed a claim, this is when we found out they have no liability for any of our stuff. Wow! We just completed our highly complicated move that got rescheduled so many times it was indescribable. The team who scheduled us were friendly, helpful, flexible and made everything super easy. On the day of the move, the moving team came in like a well oiled machine. They helped us with the bits and parts that we missed during packing and arranged everything the way we asked for it. Used this company to move from sd to Arizona in September. Had issues with the pricing from the beginning. After i moved in realized i was missing a night stand with valuables in it as well as a $1200 guitar amplifier. When i called and asked about it they said they located the amp in the managers office...that was in October and i have yet to receive my missing items or a check reimbursing me for them. The price on moving day was $3000 more than the quote they gave us. They didn't tell us until the morning of the move. They were supposed to start when they got to our house but because they changed the price, and we weren't happy, they had to call around to all their people and negotiate. Just what we needed as a start to an already stressful day. Finally, some owner had to come out to our house who was rude and condescending, bragging about other jobs they've done and judging items in our house. My girlfriend and I used BLVD moving to move our furniture and some family heirlooms and they "lost" our medicines, a box of undergarments, and family photo albums. They damaged several pieces of furniture and just about every box was crushed, including ones marked fragile. Broken glass was found in multiple places and the boxes looked like they were urinated on. I cant tell if it's because they hate that we are lesbians or not, but the staff was VERY rude and hung up on us so many times. They refuse to admit the damages happened in their care and have offered not even an apology. read more

Sam quoted us at $3k for everything, which was a big lie. Victor, Jack, and co. ended up extorting almost $10k out of us in order to get our possessions back. They hand people an iPad and claim it's just signing that you are present when picking items up, but in actuality they are having you sign forms releasing them of any damages up to $1300 (while refusing to let you read it.) They did more than $5k worth of damage to our items and claimed it was like that when they picked it up. We are also missing several medications, some of which are controlled substances. Finally, they were constantly rude and transphobic to us. Upon further checking of our items they have broken several items labeled fragile, shoving them into boxes and stacking heavier items on top of them. Also should include that they had us help them pack and unpack. The guys packing were constantly making jokes about trans people and Alex (only one guy sent to help unload) kept asking us to assist with putting things away. The whole situation has been so extremely costly that I have been telling everyone I know not to use BLVD moving. read more

Don't use this company! I've been going back and forth with them for almost a year! Their claims department sucks, and will keep giving you the run around! They lost a ton of my things even though I wrote my name and address on all the boxes. I'm a grad student and they lost a bunch of my books, bedding, throw rugs etc. They also damaged some of my furniture. Then had the nerve to offer me $42 to resolve the claim I put in. That didn't even cover the cost of one of my lost books. If you have to move cross country use a more reputable source. Trying to save money with this company will only end up pissing you off when you do finally get your items back from them. read more

DON'T DO IT! These people, even after a sending a binding contract raised the prices on me and held my stuff hostage until paid.. If that wasn't bad enough, the driver who delivered my stuff screamed at the top of his lungs at me, because I didn't want to pay extra. I told him to stop screaming and it got worse. I eventually and reluctantly paid the extra money and he then got even more mad and threw my large gun safe and tool box off the truck. He didn't have a ramp to get it off. The safe is ruined and the tool box is unusable. They knew when they picked up the safe that it was 600 lbs, but he came with his wife, who could not lift. it so he wanted more money. She got angry too and started to threaten me and acted like she would attack someone, so we had to call the police. I wouldn't trust anything to these people. I complained almost daily to the company, with no resolution. Now I will be hiring a lawyer and reporting them to FMSCA an DOT. Hi, I don't normally write yelp reviews for anything, but this one needed to be written. At first I felt comfortable with the saleman coming to my home to do an appraisal. THIS IS A MUST HAVE STEP. Don't listen to company's over the phone. Definitely get on-site appraisal for binding quotes. Anyway, after all was said and done, We agreed on a tight pickup schedule then the company wanted to pick up 24hrs in advance (after being told I'd have 72hr notice). Then at pickup they tried to estimate me at more cubic feet than was already agreed to in the appraisal. They also tried to charge me for odds and ends that I had already got included into the contract. So that took an hour of back and forth between the pick up team and their head quarters to figure out. The crew was great, nice, and did a ton of work -- kudos to them. All said and done everything got packed pretty efficiently which was nice. The mattress was loaded without being boxed, but they said they would get to it. Fastforward a few week for unloading day! An entirely different company (I was promised that the teams would all be BLVD -- so we definitely got shopped out against what I was told) and all-in-all I had damages to my property well over $10k. (MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS GET FULL REPLACEMENT VALUE -- It's required by law and the moving companies never want to offer it but they have to. They'll also try and tell you to use a preferred insurance partner, but not sure if this is entirely legal -- do research. NEVER TAKE BASIC COVERAGE if you have anything expensive. I ended up with the insursance partner). They never boxed the mattress they said they were going to do. Most of my largest furniture items were damage in some what which is pretty disappointing and shows no care was taken with the move. I had some pieces completely destroyed. We also had 3 boxes that never arrived. Again the guy that delivered our stuff was great and a real trooper. All-in-all was a terrible experience for such a high-stress life moment (cross country move) I checked out ton of different moving companies and honestly ever single one of them felt like a giant scam, which is where I give points to BLVD, they were nicer on the sale. The customer support is also great and understanding. Answered a lot of my questions during the process and heard me out. The team failed to meet some of the requirements of our contract and they reimbursed me promptly which was also great. However, the salesperson was selling me on an above average experience. Even added my insurance deductible to the contract as a show of confidence that nothing would break...And for this, I just wanted people to be aware of how the things I was sold just did not match the experience, or the nickle and diming that happened on pick up day where they tried to break my contract multiple times when things were already covered...and I had to fight it. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT use this company! They are criminals and scammers. They made my across country move even harder and more stressful than I could imagine. My family was stranded and we had no options because of their inability to give me any notice on timing of my shipment. We had to spend THOUSANDS of dollars for hotels and flights because they can not give you any timeline or they lied on when our stuff was going to arrive. I had a horrible experience with them from the start. Their sales team were dishonest about the process and never called me back when I questioned them. I spoke to a manager eventually who assured me they would take care of my concerns so I decided to stay with them but that was another person from their team being dishonest. I was told my stuff was loaded and on a truck and on its way when it was not. Their dispatch team lied to me the entire time. When I finally questioned management, I was mocked and they spoke extremely unprofessional to me even though I have record of all of this. I was NEVER able to get through to dispatch, it was always a busy signal. Then 2 different managers promised to call me back and they never did. Per their contract, I was supposed to get a 24 hour notice on ETA and I was given 1 hour which is completely unacceptable. Then they expect you to Zelle money 2 DAYS in advance but can not tell you when they will be there. I filed an official complaint through the BBB for breaking their contract and they never responded. When I called about breaking the contract they told me they would see what they can do, and shockingly they never called back. Do not do business with them. Not only will it cost you money, it will bring on more stress than needed. Oh and I have a ton of damaged stuff but its impossible to file a complaint or get them to reimburse. I used BLVD Moving in October to move my Mom's things from LA to Tennessee. In the beginning Matt was great to get the business and then when the delivery date came and went he ignored my calls. Delivery was 8-9 days late and a piano leg arrived broken and they never did anything about it. All else arrived ok, and the actual movers were hard-working and respectful, so I decided to give them another chance and I booked with them end of December to do a 2 staged move to Virginia - BAD MOVE. We talked at least 3 times a week to hash out the items that I wanted to send. He sent a binding contract and the move was supposed to start 1/20/22. One day before the move, I am promised things verbally and I asked Matt to put it in writing and he stopped responding to my emails. The movers called to confirm the move for tomorrow and I said that until the contract is finalized in writing, I will not be able to confirm with the movers. Matt finally called me and sent the contract in writing but told me that he would not honor that contract and that it would cost me $3900 extra in order to do the move as originally discussed in December. I said that if he could not honor his word, that I would be unable to work with him or the company and he said "ok" and hung up on me. Over the past 3 weeks, I have been working around the clock at work and up late at night to get my items ready to be moved tomorrow only to be canceled at the last minute because this company does not have ethical standards to honor their word I would NOT recommend BLVD Moving since they do not honor their word or their written contracts, they were late with the first move and broke furniture and did not honor repairing the broken item. There are too many reputable moving companies out there to take a chance on one with a bad proven track record. read more

I was quoted $100 dollars an hour on Yelp and a 3 hours minimum, later when I called them the rate changed to $140 and a 4 hour minimum He stated just because the move was at the end of the month? The date I gave on yelp was the same (discrepancy on the quote) I dint bother to hire them after that. I gave them one star rate at first but the manager contacted me after apologizing for the misunderstanding honoring the first quote. It was too late because I hired a different company already but I believed it was a misunderstanding. read more
