This company moved my cousins today. Since the cousins are new to smart phones, I am doing the review at their request. Eric from the company called to say he was on his way and gave an ETA. They arrived promptly, were courteous, professional and thorough. They came expecting to move 35 boxes. However, between the storage unit and the residence, it ended up being over 200. These guys didn't bat an eye. They worked for over 13 hours today. They were just as pleasant when they said their final "goodbyes" as they were when they arrived this morning. Though the cousins were exhausted (and sometimes just a tiny bit grumpy), this crew maintained the same demeanor. PLEASANT!!! I originally booked this company and put down a deposit for a cross-country move from San Francisco to New York, but ended up cancelling a week later. I couldn't shake the feeling that this company was somewhat fraudulent, as they made me sign a blind contract - something that many other movers do not do throughout their contracting process. Upon cancelling, the account manager, who was very nice and present throughout the pre-sale process, confirmed that their accounting team would confirm the refund of my deposit immediately. After numerous follow-ups, I was told that I'd be refunded "tomorrow," but it never happened and I never heard from anyone on their accounting team. I ended up challenging the charge directly with my credit card. While this was a small frustration, I couldn't shake the feeling that by working with this company I'd be opening the door up to drama and potential malfeasance. I'm glad I didn't end up using this company for my move - there are plenty other higher rated and higher recommended movers out there. read more

DO NOT USE BLVD MOVING IF YOU WANT HONESTY AND TRANSPARENCY The sales man on the phone gave me so many promises that never came true. He told me there would be no extra charges, I would have a three man team picking up and dropping off, our stuff would be secured in a truck with metal cages so nothing would be damaged, and it would all happen within a three day period. None of that was true. The second we got off the phone the email I received said it could take weeks and this was an "estimate" and there may be charges at pick up. There was. $2000 more. At that point it was too late and we had to just do it. Only two guys showed up at our house. With no masks and a tiny UHAUL truck. They would not say when our stuff would be dropped off. It took 3 weeks. When I would call dispatch they would give me no updates. It was a different driver dropping off and with only one other helper. Again NO masks. They even tried to give us something from someone else's stuff. Many of our boxes where smashed, a couple table legs were bent, and they left a pile of garbage in our garage. Moving is a very stressful time for anyone and Blvd Moving makes that experience 10X more stressful. Points of interest from our experience with BLVD Moving when relocating out of state: 1. Quote was up charged at time of service when it's known you're at their mercy 2. Once our items arrived at their facility Omar tried to up charge the storage fees from $650 a month to $750 a month, even though the ploy did not work I had to endure his rude, condescending and down right evil interaction. He went so far as to threaten to ship our items out of state before the ready date. 3. Dispatch personnel, Aishia, Brenda, Jennifer, and Jasmine were very cold and not willing to engage and help a customer when asking about scheduling delivery. They all seemed to enjoy having the leverage and being in charge. Every inquiry to see if our items had been scheduled to be placed on a truck I would get the same answer "we have 21 days to deliver" no more no less. Very frustrating when having to book a flight in order to be there for delivery. 4. David the owner, does not follow through on his word and is clearly a yes man. He apparently had a slow day and answered the phone the day I called and put my mind to ease, but that warm and fuzzy feeling came to an end after trying to follow up and Jennifer stated "David is too busy to return calls from customers" and stated" he will not call you back" 5. Boxes arrived with labels marked only with numbers and no content information. Labels had fallen off and some had attached themselves to other boxes, so basically the labels had no purpose and no way of telling if all the boxes had arrived. 6. Missing items, but one particular item are antlers my late father left for his great grandson....they were the last item placed on the truck and Ivan told us they would be crated once at their facility and not to worry....we'll they're missing. Here is the interesting part....missing items are just that, missing, moving companies are not required to take responsibility for "missing items" only broken items so if it breaks toss it in the trash and it becomes "missing". Which may be why they do not make a complete inventory list and only use numbered labels. 7. Several items were broken when arrived...gaming table and patio furniture 8. Recently used this company for a long distance move from California to Alabama. The sales the apartment was very helpful in professional from day one as this move took a long time to do because of my particular situation. A mover is who picked up everything in California were great. They packed everything with extreme care which was really important because I had a few antiques. I admit there was a problem upon drop of of the furniture but it was handled by the original sales office in management in a professional manner. Scam garbage company that triple the original quote and refused to return the deposit

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I would give negative stars if possible. This has been an experience that my husband and I hope we never have to repeat! We feel as though the salesperson made a lot of promises and assurances and none of it has come to pass. We were told that it would be 5-7 days until we received our stuff, and here it is 14 days later and no one knows where our stuff is or when it will be delivered!! We have made multiple phone calls and have written letters and have not received any reply. The only person we finally got a hold of is in the complaints department. She said it might be another two weeks before we receive our stuff! She could not say where it is at the moment. To start, no one told us it was going to take two days to load our stuff onto the truck. We had not anticipated or planned for the extra day. That should have been stated up front so that we could have been prepared. It took them from Thursday, approximately 10:30 am to 8:00 pm, and Friday, from 10:30 am to 12:30 am (14 hours)! There was some sort of lack of communication between sales, dispatch and the crew loading our stuff onto the truck. The lead guy walked everything and confirmed that the quote and amount of items was correct. We watched and listened as he placed a call to dispatch to tell them they did not have enough guys for the job and did not have the correct equipment on his truck and that he needed a forklift to lift the heavy items into the truck (a hot tub, lathe, and mill). All of these items were noted by the sales guy and he confirmed that they would not be a problem. My husband had to physically help them lift the hot tub onto the dolly and roll it down the driveway. Then my husband had to use his own bobcat skid steer with forks to load it into the truck himself. On the second day, the moving team did not get any additional crew and no forklift. Aleksandr, the sales guy, had come to the house twice to walk the items and he included the heavy items in the quote. He stated that he would be on site to aid in loading the three heavy items that would present a challenge. He never showed up on site and never returned our phone calls!! At 9:00 pm on the second day, the crew was still loading up stuff on the truck. The lathe and the mill machines were still sitting in our garage. My husband told them that we couldn't be at the house another day and the machines had to go in that night. They obviously did not have the man power or the equipment to load the heavy machines so my husband had to do it himself with his tractor. We wanted to avoid this extra work which was why we decided to pay the additional money to use the moving company in the first place. The noise of the tractor at that hour caused some of our neighbors to come out and it disrupted the entire street. On top of everything else, they never told us that they were going to unload all of our stuff into a warehouse!!! We wouldn't have agreed to that as it's too easy to lose things. This company has given me the run around for over a month now. I needed my goods to be weighed for military entitlements and they did not weigh my goods. I paid the 150$ fee for the weight tickets and come to find out they were never done. I had to do all of my own research and even called CAT scales for my weight tickets to find out they were never done. This company came for my stuff which was supposed to be delivered in Minneapolis in a month's time. The first red flag I noted was that the driver who came kept on adding charges which did not make any sense to me. Then I agreed with him that my stuff was to start a 21 day period before delivery the Monday after my stuff was picked. A month later I call and they casually tell me I won't be getting my stuff at least until August 1. I am moving to my new place in Minnesota yet my stuff have arrived. The movers were right on time and called me on my cellphone from the parking. They all were wearing masks. They were very professional and careful in wrapping and covering my furniture with plastic and blankets before loading them to the truck. I had a large heavy and ornated maple bookcase and a desk that I love and have been using them in my office for the past 27 years. BLVD Moving Company picked up my items on September 6th, 2020 and did not deliver them until November 6th, 2020. When they picked up my belongings they raised the price an additional $1400.00 above the binding quote they gave me. They held my belongings in their warehouse for two months. They gave me excuses for not delivering sooner because of Covid and mechanical problems, and yet they have many complaints for this samescenario way before Covid. When they finally delivered my belongings, my Christmas tree box was missing and a Christmas ornament box the lid was missing and all of the handmade Christmas ornaments inside were stolen. I sell these ornaments in my business and now have incurred $358 in loss of sales for these items. Ironic that the Christmas tree box and Christmas ornaments are missing together. They aren't missing, they were stolen from a taped closed box! I will be filing a police report as well as complaints to BBB, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Consumer Affairs and probably small claims court. BLVD. Moving is the worst. I had several pieces of furniture broken including an antique armoire. Boxes were not labeled with contents. Delivery sucked and I was not notified 24 hours before delivery. They just showed up. Furniture and boxes were dumped into whatever room they felt like it because "they had another job". They misquoted the price and then wanted another $6K to move me. In addition they want to be paid before they unload which I refused to do until I saw everything come off the truck. They left all their trash in my garage which I had to deal with. I wrote a few weeks ago about a bad experience I had with BLVD. It wasn't about the actual move or movers, they were excellent. It was about estimate versus actual charges, and some high prices for boxes. Mind you, this was my second move with them, so I was a bit surprised how long it took to get a partial credit. After a dispute on my Discover card did not go in my favor, I wrote on Yelp about the situation (quite long and involved). The Yelp review caused the management to contact me, and issue a credit for the hourly rate that was mis-charged. I truly appreciated this, but no mention of a couple other issues. Being a real estate agent with many contacts, I recommended BLVD over and over again, and I still would for the quality of the move, and the great guys that are employed. It's best to keep your written estimate handy on the day of the move and talk to them ahead of time about their box charges. Maybe have extra boxes handy if they need them because you won't be happy paying $45 for a large box. Overall I will give them 3 stars, simply because it took so long and many hours to make something right that was definitely a big wrong. read more

This is my first ever Yelp review and a very special experience brought me here.. my partner and I were moving from SF to NYC and we contracted with Proud American Van Lines. Turns out we didn't do our research and they were actually a broker (our bad) who sold our contract to BLVD moving. When we found out BLVD moving was going to be the ones actually performing the move, we read the reviews and freaked out - ransoming stuff, awful damage, wild delays, etc. - so we tried to cancel the move. Matt Freedman, one of the Sales VPs at BLVD, called to build confidence with us and promised that they would take good care of our stuff and that he would be our contact every step of the way in the process (from pick up to drop off). I feel very naive for believing him. Here is a quick rundown of our experience: 1. Awful customer service during the move process - after 3 weeks of waiting for our stuff, we began contacting BLVD regularly for updates. Not only were they unable to give us any information (they legit had no idea where our stuff was at any given time - super reassuring), but they also regularly changed our delivery window (difficult when you've moved into a building who requires a scheduled move) and they continuously promised to call us back the next day with more info and never once did. Frustrating, but I get that moving companies are dealing with wild amounts of logistics and whatnot, so I could have let this slide, but... 2. When we finally received our stuff, they delivered a completely busted dresser, a cracked 65" TV, and a demolished bookcase (the shelves were legitimately ripped out) - BLVD contracted out to have the stuff actually delivered by a couple of non-affiliated guys (who were very nice) and they were flabbergasted by the damage, which tells you something 3. We get that things get broken in a move, so we went to file a claim - turns out that things like our fairly new TV are not covered because they "are not liable for electronics" - this was probably something we could have researched beforehand, but it seems ridiculous regardless 4. Once we agreed to not cancel and these problems starting popping up, Matt Freedman was nowhere to be seen and stopped replying to all email - his sales tactic worked and I'm wildly disappointed that that's how they run their business. OK, my rant is over - if I could go back, I would 1000% contract with a more reputable company because we are ultimately paying far more to replace our stuff and we prob lost years of our life due to the stress (kind of kidding, kind of serious). All of these reviews are absolutely fake. Even Yelp has a flag on their page for posting their own reviews. Whatever you do, avoid using this company at ALL COSTS. Don't make the mistake of justifying using them because they're on Angie's List. Your stuff will get pushed around, broken, put in storage for a month, picked up and delivered late, and you will be lied to continuously. Also, depending on who your moving crew is and what time they show up to pick up your stuff, they will add all kinds of additional charges, claim your furniture is bigger than what they had on the quote, and they will extort you for tip money because they know you're in a predicament and need your stuff moved no matter what. I wish I would have done something to get my deposit back after reading the bad reviews I saw on Yelp and Google. Unfortunately my choices and time frame were limited as I was moving cross-country from LA to Texas. Like most other reviewers, it started off ok. The sales people in the office seemed helpful and friendly, but you will soon find out that every single one of them is an incompetent liar. They will make you "promises" on when your stuff will get delivered and picked up, and that you will not need additional insurance because they "rarely ever" have stuff that gets broken. All total bullshit. In the beginning before signing anything, I facetimed with ***** and showed her everything in my apartment that I wanted to be moved. She saw with her own eyes every piece of furniture and marked it accordingly. Later when the movers came to get everything, I found out most everything on the sheet was marked incorrectly and that the cubic feet of every item would need to be increased. That night, at 8PM - 4 hours after my pickup window, the day before my flight to leave the city, my quote went from 3k to almost 9k. A $6,000 increase for my bed set that was left off the original quote, small tables the sales associate marked as "nightstands" that they actually changed to "cubic storage" (one of these ended up being broken and destroyed upon delivery), and my 3 piece sectional was slightly bigger than they anticipated. ******, who was in charge of the crew picking up my items, said he would "cut me a deal" on my new already-complete-bullshit quote and lower it by about $2,000 if I agreed to pay him and his guys a healthy tip amount. He specified he wanted $200 for himself (he wouldn't take any amount lower) and $50 for each of the guys. That's fucking extortion. I was left with no choice since the office was closed at the hour they showed up and I was leaving the next day, ****** knew this and took advantage of it. My final charges were around $6,700 with the tip they demanded. Keep in mind, I had a small 2 bedroom apartment and one of the bedrooms was empty. The entire pickup crew were a bunch of clowns. None were wearing masks, and ****** was verbally hostile and manipulative. They dented walls, scuffed floors and treated the apartment I was moving out of with no regard. I later found out that my property manager found one of the crew members smoking weed in the laundry room of my apartment complex, WHILE ON THE JOB MOVING MY THINGS. When they finished, they assured me my ready-by date on my contract was December 26th, 2021, and I should receive my stuff around the last week of December. I called the second-to-last week of December for an update on my delivery, to find out they changed my ready-by date to January 6th. You will have to call to get any updates on anything, they won't call you. By law, I had a 25 business-day window that my stuff would be delivered by, which was Dec. 26 - Jan. 14. I finally received my stuff on January 13th, a day before the window ended. Pathetic. My stuff sat in storage for nearly a month. Furniture was returned to me chipped, stripped by tape removal, water-damaged, and a TV and multiple items were broken beyond repair. The crew that delivered my items were much more professional, and I would like to say that Jorge and his guys were great. Overall, this was a horrible experience and I will do whatever I can to prevent other people from making the mistake that I did by using them. read more

Great experience . The movers- Sylvester and his partner(can't think of his name) did an amazing job. They were professional, detailed, and efficient. They arrived on time with mask and extra packing materials. The hourly rates are reasonable and comparable to other local moving companies. It took them about 3.5 hrs to move our belongings into a 2 bdrm condo. It was a local move, so it was not a far distance to drive from one place to another. It's best if you pay with cash being that they do charge a 3.5% transaction fee for cards , which can add up to an extra 15-20 when your total is in the 400-500$ range, which is money that can be used to tip your movers instead. read more

For 4 weeks they did NOT give me any update regarding delivery window. Whenever I called to follow-up, they kept saying they were still within the 21 business days delivery window. After I waited for 4 weeks without my household goods, they gave me a delivery window and delivered on Jan-22 2023 (it took them total of 6+ weeks to deliver after pick-up date), and my $600 TV stand was broken and a $1800 recliner's chair's leather is fully damaged. Imagine living in uncertainty for 6 weeks whether they will ever deliver your goods. Do yourself a favor, and hire different company. This company is not a professional moving company. I scheduled a move on September 14th, 2023. I agreed to a minimum of 4 hours for 3 professional movers and a truck. Based on my recent 3 moves, this job could have and should have been done within the 4 hours. However, I was not sent professional movers. Not even close. The primary gentleman I dealt with during the move did his best. But he was saddled with two early twenty something boys that obviously had zero experience and even less interest in working with a purpose. I expressed my frustration and explained that I agreed to pay a rate of $160 per hour for THREE PROFESSIONAL MOVERS. I was sent one older gentleman and two children. I found the way this company operates is pathetic. It ended up costing almost double what I was anticipating. They quoted a much lower amount that undercut every other company I received quotes from. I should have known better. Moving is stressful enough, and I am disgusted with the amount of money I paid this company. Since the children that were sent to my house were incapable of moving my property completely, I was stuck doing a large portion of the move myself. Not to mention I began to move things to show what I was expecting. The reason I wanted to hire movers is because I did not want the added stress. Hiring this company backfired miserably. These guys went above and beyond: were courteous, funny, and FAST! They wrapped everything in blankets and shrink wrap and were super careful to not bang walls or doors.
