Bob the Plumber helped us on multiple occasions on short notice. The first instance was when we had problems with our disposal leaking and it turns out the flip company that did our home cut corners and improperly installed the pipes underneath the sink. The second time was an issue with our bathroom; the valve under the sink split causing water to spray everywhere almost flooding our bathroom. Bob was at our place within 20 minutes. Not only did he fix the issue but kept the water damage to a minimum and installed a new valve that was much higher quality than what the flippers used to install the sink. I had a leaking pressure regulator valve in my home, located in the garage. It failed such that pressure was very high throughout the house. The water heater was leaking too through its pressure relief valve due to the high pressure. Bob came by in about 30 minutes on a Saturday even though he was on his way to a family function. I recently bought a house in Chula Vista , CA. I was in the middle of replacing a utility sink faucet unit and supply line, but felt a bit uneasy when I saw how corroded the old supply lines and valves were. I checked Yelp! for a major SD plumbing company, but saw it got only 3 stars on average, and lots of complaints among the comments. I scanned other listings and found that Bob the Plumber had 45 reviews with an overall rating of 4.5, and many were 5 stars raves. I called and Bob responded quickly, and set up an appointment for two hours later. He was prompt, courteous and got everything fixed and working within a half hour. He did a neat, quick and efficient job at a reasonable price. I'd certainly call him again. My only regret is that, when I put the extension on my house, he does not do that type of work. We will definitely call Bob the Plumber for any future problems (crossing my fingers that there are no problems but just in case). We made the mistake of calling another plumber who had us wait 2 days for an appointment that they never showed up for and never even called us back. We called Bob just after 10am and he showed up that day a little over an hour later. He quickly found the problem with our toilet (a terrible tree root and a previous plumber didn't set the toilet properly so it wobbled and broke the seal) and fixed it in less then 30 mins. We were pleasantly surprised at how fast it was. The work also cost less then we thought so that was another plus. Called Bob based on his yelp reviews and he lived it up to them. I had a couple of leaky values that I had been putting off, but I knew they needed repaired. First call was quick, scheduled me for the next day. Showed up on time handled the issue very quickly, too quick, I just need to tighten a nut...embarrassing. Anyway, other value ended up being replaced and changed some piping, looks much better and more importantly, no leaks. Overall Bob was timely, straight to the point and price was reasonable. Sunday noon, because of OT it's my only day off and I already had special "honey do's" going when low & behold, the washbasin is backed-up & water coming up in the tub as well. I could've rented a snake @ Home Depot and did it myself but it's my only day off & too much to do. Went on-line to find a plumber all of which wanted to charge me an "emergency service fee" because it was Sunday. I hired Bob's service after looking at Yelp's reviews and I really thought he would not only provide me the best service possible but also the price he'd charge me. I can pay however much it is for as long as they provide me the great service I deserve. Sorry but this Bob pissed me off. He charged me $85 after installing my brand new Moen motion-sensing faucet in half hour. That's not bad! As a matter of fact, when my mom was telling me he finished it that fast, I was pretty impressed (I was at work when he was doing what I paid him to do) and I was initially happy when he did it in less than an hour. Now here's the worse part: I came home and see it for myself how it went. Great! It's working. Now when I asked my mom why the soap dispenser wasn't installed, mom told me that Bob told her that we could do it ourselves and it would only take 5-10 minutes installing it. The reason being is that Bob didn't have the tools to take it out cuz he said its full of rust. I called him and he said the same thing to me. I'm really getting pissed at this guy because I told him that his service is to install the faucet and whatever comes in that box would be installed including that soap dispenser so I insisted that he has to come back and install it cuz I wouldn't have spent $85 if he would have told me right from the very start that he wouldn't install the soap dispenser. This Bob told me that he would come back the next day to install it but he would charge me half the price which is $42.50. Are you flipping serious??? So I told him very calmly that I would do it myself! Hung up the phone and I was about to make a review at Yelp when after 5 minutes, Bob called again and said he would not charge me and would come back the next day to install it. Pretty cool, he did. But why would you tell me you'd charge me extra $$$ when i called you? Tryna rip me off or something? Next issue: my old faucet was missing! Asked my mom where it went. She said she could not find it, so when I was talking to Bob over the phone I asked where he put it. His answer was he threw it away! I'm sorry mister but last time I checked if you don't own something, you'd ask the owner first for his or her permission. That's a blatant lie cuz we have our own garbage disposal at home, why would you have to take it and throw it yourself? You should have asked for permission bcuz that old faucet isn't that old and that was expensive, too! I needed that for my other house. Sorry but this guy's ethics is lacking. do not hire this guy!! I hired bob to add new valves for bath and shower. 450 dollars. he finished in less then 2 hours and was leaving when I drove up. my wife had already paid him. when he showed me the work and ran the water, the one new valve leaked and he had to adjust it . He also did not install the shower pipe thru the wall because he said I did not ask for it to be installed, so I said I would do it.so he left and I installed the pipe ( 2minutes of time). when I went to install the new bath spout a few days later it would not fit the new pipe bob put in. I had to buy an adaptor spout to fit his pipe.Also The valves were set to far out and I had to refit them before I could install the hardware on them (faucet controls etc.) I would not recommend this guy ever!!!!!! read more

I tell him I'm having problems with my plumbing backing up and I need an estimate for how much to come take a look at it. I again tell him my plumbing is backing up and he says he can't help me because he's off for the day and refers me to a couple of corporations. Why even answer the phone if you're not going to work?! A couple of days ago I had (what I thought was simply) a clogged kitchen sink. Based on reviews here I gave Bob a call and he gave me a very reasonable estimate over the phone and came the next morning right on time. Turns out my situation is MUCH more complicated than a simple clogged drain---Bob cleared that and when I called to say I was having other problems---came back that very same afternoon---braved a very difficult access trying to locate my main drain access. He advised me to hire someone who specializes in (main) drain clearing. He didn't charge me anything for the extra consultation and physical gyrations he had to do to get to the "problem". Without any hesitation I give Bob the Plumber the highest possible recommendation. He is very knowledgeable, capable and more than fair in his prices. Had a leak develop at my home and called a local Chula Vista plumber to inspect. I was told by this plumber that I needed to replace my entire shower valve and do a considerable amount of modification to fix my leak. I then called Bob the Plumber for a second opinion. Bob promptly came out, assessed the problem and showed me exactly why I was having the leak issue. Bob was able to fix the issue and make things as good as new in less than 30 minutes and at about 1/5 of the cost that I was quoted by the other plumber. Without a doubt, Bob the Plumber is definitely our new plumber!!! He answers and returns calls very promptly. No charge for estimates and is quick to get out to review the issue. Bob was the third plumber I called to get an estimate on what I was told was going to be a very large job. Our regular plumber told us that the repair in question could not be done the normal way due to rust and corrosion. What originally was going to cost around $150.00 to fix, was now being quoted over a $1,000.00 and that was not even going to cover any drywall repairs. Second plumber I called I think just assumed what the first plumber said was correct . He took a different approach on how to make the repair but his estimate was still over $700.00. Then I called Bob to get his opinion. Chose him due to his great reviews on Yelp. He came out, took a look and said he thought he could do the repair the old fashion way. We went with Bob, HE FIXED IT in no time, he cleaned up his mess and he was able to trace the plumbing issues we have been having back to something that was never even addressed by our other plumbers. If it had been, it would have saved us a lot of time and money over the past couple of years. This repair only cost us $160.00. So much better than the $700.00 and $1,000.00 estimates. I called Bob last minute to come over because I was having both of my bathrooms tiled over, and there were valve leaks in both toilets. Bob came over and checked out the toilets and found that my pressure regulator wasn't working, which is why the valves had both failed. He swapped out both valves, replaced the cheap nylon hoses with braided metal ones, removed my old reverse osmosis system that was leaking, swapped out my pressure regulator, and replaced my cheap water main turnoff with a heavy duty one in the process. All of this cost way less than I would have thought, and he was full of information on everything I asked him along the way. I'll definitely call Bob again for all of my plumbing needs. read more
