I lived in Brasil for a year and have missed the food. This place has helped my "saudades". Best by far! It is small inside- wish they could expand. Weekends can be crowded. Finding a Brazilian spot with authentic dishes that doesn't involve huge peices of meat being walked around is a Lil more difficult than u would think. Tucked away in the back of a little plaza this gem of a place originates home cooked Brazilian food. We were greeted by a very friendly lady and seated right away. She welcomed us and asked if we had been there before. We said we hadn't and then she went on to explain the menu and what was popular. Cheese bread, incredibly good. Try it!! I have been looking for a restaurant that serve cherry juice and this restaurant has it. They call it Acerola ($3.49) and I was told it is very good. They use the frozen pulp of the Brazilian cherry and they prepare it like a refreshing smoothie. Although it is a lighter shade of red almost peach like in color, the flavor of the Brazilian cherry juice taste amazing. As for desserts on the menu, they offer only three: slice of cake, pudding, and brigadeiro which is a traditional truffle in Brazil. Sadly they ran out of cake and brigadeiro from the holiday. What remain is just pudding which is a flan made with condensed cream and milk, and it is very similar to what I know in my culture as leche flan. Their appetizers include Coxinha which is a popular Brazilian croquette snack, they have Pastel which is a deep fried puff pastry stuff with your choice of filling, and they have Pastel Do Boca which is their traditional Brazilian empanada filled with cheese, ham, ground beef, eggs and olives. They offer specialties like parmegiana, milanesa, grilled chicken, swai fillet, smoked sausage, fajitas, and Brazilian steak and eggs. There is a selection of pasta, salad, chicken fingers and wings, sandwiches, and they have a kids menu too. For entree I chose Stroganoff ($12.90), it has succulent strips of tender chicken sautéed in a tomato seasoned cream stew and you get a choice of three sides. The sides they offer are pinto beans, mashed potato, rice, salad, steamed veggies, and fries. Mine I opt for the garlic steamed rice, shoestring potato, and a salad. The stroganoff is serve hot in a small clay pot and the sides are delivered on a big plate. I thought I had ordered a salad and what was given to me was steamed carrots and broccoli. I'm thinking this must be a Brazilian version salad. When I address it to Hector, he apologize for the error and brought the actual salad which has hearts of palm, romaine lettuce, slice tomato, and red onion serve with olive oil, red vinegar dressing, and farofa. Farofa is a toasted yuca flour mixture that is eaten mainly in Brazil and according to Hector, it taste good when you sprinkle it over steamed rice. If you have ever tried furikake, the concept is similar to that in which the yuca flour is like a seasoning flavor (it almost taste like crushed chicharron) and when sprinkled over rice it makes the food delicious. You can even add yuca flour to stroganoff, meat, soup, salad, and steamed veggies. What's so cool is they have a shelf of selected import goods from Brazil that you can purchase like a bag of yuca flour, which is highly recommended for your kitchen pantry. Overall I'm real happy I got to try good Brazilian food, that is a dish I can finally check off on my bucket list. Hector has been cheerful and super friendly throughout my visit and I was able to meet the owner, who is pleasant and always smiling. In addition, when you buy a meal you get a stamp card. After your 10th visit, you get a discount on your next meal. However, it does not apply on lunch special but you can order your meal anytime of the day. They also make Brazilian pizza and that is something I will try for my next visit. By the way, if you wonder about the restroom it is a shared usage for both men and ladies. It would be nice if there is a separate facility, but I did check and it does look maintained clean. read more

I was recommended this restaurant by a medical student whose wife is Brazilian. It's a bit far west, but I decided to check it out for lunch one day. The place isn't big, but has some seating for dining in. The servers are all very friendly, and all of the employees are Brazilian, and I heard them converse with some customers in Portuguese. I enjoyed my food thoroughly, see attached photos. Prices were moderate and portions were decent. The menu isn't too big. I had a nice visit here with a big group, and was able to try several items. We ordered two different pizzas, which were good. Some other fried items were ordered, in addition to Picanha steak dish. I think someone also ordered the stew dish, which I got to try. I've gotta say, the best item for me were the fried plantains. Yeah, i kinda originally was thinking MEH, not a huge fan of plantains, but, it was REALLY good that we ordered one more. I thought the Picannha steak was well seasoned, and I'd rather go to a different place to get a dish like this, but it is a good dish to hold you over if you don't want to deal with the buffets. I came on vacation this year with my family and friends and it wasn't good. food came greasy, portions of industrialized farofa and vinaigrette sauce are ridiculously small. Swung in to get a couple of coxinhas and an açaí bowl to go. We live in the Dallas area where coxinhas are hard to come by. The man who helped us (not sure if he was the owner) was very efficient and expedited our order. The coxinhas were moist, generous with chicken and catupiry, and the açaí was thick as it should be. They have everything a restaurant needs to have to be good, AMAZING food, a nice and cozy space and really friendly staff. You will feel home! So they have many options for appetizers, main meals, pizzas and deserts (and they have Guaraná!). It's a must try if you want to try Brazilian food or if you're looking for a new restaurant! We come here often for the sausage with onions (comes with white rice, beans, fries and a salad). You can also add fried eggs for really cheap. And for their brigadeiros! The food here is super authentic, always hot and fresh, and always outstanding flavors. I have lived in Brazil and visited Brazil again a few years ago, and the food here is much better than 95% of the restaurants you will eat at in Brazil. This is not a Brazilian steakhouse, but the food offered here is several notches above any of the expensive Brazilian steakhouses in town. There is a great, small restaurant atmosphere and Hector provides outstanding, friendly service -- typical Brazilian style. Due to the pandemic, I've only ordered take out but any interaction I've had with the staff has been pleasant. They also have some market items that are worth trying out. So I decided to try something brand new and Brazilian food sounded very interesting for me. I made the biggest mistake of my life. This is my first experience with Brazilian food but I'm sure this place does not do it justice. When I walked in, the lady told me she would be right with me and walked to the kitchen for a good 10 minutes. Then another customer came in and she took his order right away ahead of mine. Again, after taking the second customers order, she told me she would be right back. Just when I was about to leave she comes back out and asks "what do you want?" I the rudest tone you can imagine. I had a lamb gyro combo which included salad, fries, the gyro, and a drink. I was surprised when the wait wasn't long since she made me wait so long already. Then I realized why it was so fast. I'm not joking when I say the lamb pieces looked like microwaveable sausage patties. The fries looked like microwave food as well. The decor is very casual, the staff extremely friendly (even if you don't speak Portuguese!), and the service prompt. The food here reminded me exactly of being back in Salvador. The Coxinha was delicious and it's the first time I've found it in the United States. It's hard to explain what it is. It's a deep fried potato with breading and chicken in the middle. While my description doesn't do it justice, it is a must try! The menu had many options and was at a very reasonable price. The service was beyond suburb and it was refreshing to see native Brasilians working there. I forgot his name, but he was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend giving this place a try! It's nothing like the recently popular churrascaria. So please don't go to the restaurant thinking of Texas de Brazil or Viva Brasil.
