Been coming here religiously but never coming to this location again. They have worst service ever in all the boillibg points in OC area. The policies change every time we go. This time manager Made me and three of my friends wait over 30mins only to find out that we cant sit when our number was called because one of our friend was parking and all four of us wasn't in the restaurant. When we went last week, it was a different manager and I guess their policy didn't apply to that one. We got seated right away even when one of our party wasn't present. Probably the best Boiling Point that I've been to, though with one caveat. I've been to many Boiling Points (BP) and objectively this one takes the cake in terms of substantive food. While the taste at each BP is fairly consistent and you know the ingredients + MSG that you're getting with each order, the amount of actual food that you get here is astounding compared to at some of the other locations like Irvine and Rowland. (I was actually full leaving here, which usually never happens.) I'm not just talking about vegetables either, this place literally served maybe 1.5x-1.75x the amount of meat of the other locations for the same dish. The pitfall of this place, however, lies in the service. Boiling Points generally have poor reputations for service, which is somewhat understandable (though not justifiable) by their popularity. People will keep coming back because people love hot pot (or whatever you want to call Boiling Point). At this location, however, I had the pleasure of meeting the gaze of a server, with my hand raised, and him walking off to go talk to another server. Twice (though with a different server the second time). Nonetheless, the relative strength of the food (in terms of quality + quantity) outweighs the shortcomings in the service, at least in my book. Would recommend this BP over any others, if given the option and all are equidistant. read more

I have been visiting boiling point almost every week or every other week, I like the food here, but customer service here? I don't know what to say, most of them are very nice, but this one guy (BOBBY) that was helping us was not only arrogant, he was extremely rude and was being very unprofessional. If you have a problem with customers "breaking the restaurant rules," please inform us NICELY, without the attitude, and we won't have a problem. This not the first time. It's also not the first time I've heard complaint (from a lot of people who also love eating there) about him giving customers attitude. Also, bringing the soup with one hand, and dropping it on the table, and then just walk away arrogantly, is surely not a way to please any customers (there's more reasons than this). If you're having a bad day, take a day off. Don't come to work pissed, and take it out on people. It upsets me when I go in to eat, in a good mood, only to be dampen by a worker who lacks respect. Don't expect me to not be rude back and give u the respect you're seeking for when you did nothing to deserve it in the first place. I'm honestly questioning how he got hired. I also wonder what kind of answers he gave to the interviewers when they asked him about how he would handle a situation with an angry customer. Been a fan of this restaurant for a long time.The services and the foods were really good before. Now, the service is super bad. We order 2 drinks to go and it take them 20 mins and when we ask they said they making the drinks now. Another issue, There are a bunch of empty tables but they don't call people in. I frequent this location probably twice a month, and have always had a good experience. The service is attentive and friendly, the wait times aren't that bad (the workers hustle to clean tables quickly), and the food is consistently good. I'm not sure how it is on the weekends, but on weekdays rush hour normally starts around 12:00-1:30 so if you don't want to wait I'd come before or after the lunch rush. I'm allergic to peanuts so I appreciate that they can remove the "peanut sauce" that's in the beef hot pot and some of their other hot pots. read more

Came here a few nights ago and it is always good! The wait took almost an hour for a party of three. But then again, boiling point js very popular and seems like it is always busy. But def worth the wait! Our server, Lavonne, also made the experience great! She was so nice and helpful, constantly checking in on us too. I had ordered their beef hot pot. I can't stand spicy food, so I just got the non spicy lol. So their hot pots usually consist of various vegetables and protein! They also have noodles as well, but you can either get more noodles or rice on the side. They also have extras for a decent price and add-ons too. When you get the pot, they light it up to keep it hot, but you can ask the servers to put it up whenever you want. Sometimes it gets waaaay too hot and I've burnt my tongue lol. If you're looking for a decent experience at Boiling Point choose another location We have previously been to the Irvine location and were severely disappointed with this location. The vibe was not great to say the least (slow, boring music on a weekend - Sunday). We waited for more than 20 minutes, while the servers walked by and ignored us! We had already received the text message that our table was ready and so much time passed by that we received the text of "Dear Guest, would you still like your table at Boiling Point - Artesia? If yes, please check in with the Host within 5 minutes or you might have to get a new waiting ticket.". They send this text if you haven't been checked in 10 minutes after they tell you your table is ready. There were more than 4 tables empty and we felt completely ignored as several servers walked past us to clean tables and check on guests that were already seated and had food. Simply saying " hello we'll be right with you" is not a lot to ask for. All the servers definitely had a "whatever" attitude. After waiting an additional 15 minutes we eventually had to go ourselves to the counter inside and tell them that we've been waiting for a table. After which they acted mildly surprised and proceeded to seat us immediately. While we were eating a worker whose shift had just ended proceeded to take off his shoes and socks to put on slippers. Right there! Literally less than a feet away from where people are eating. I've worked in the food business and the workers definitely influence whether or not customers return. Apathetic employee behavior is very visible to a customer especially if you ignore them. We will not be returning to this location. Just because you have the Boiling Point name doesn't mean your location deserves the business. It is clear that this location has no regard for basic customer service. Our waiter messed up our drinks. We're a table of 6. But he gave us an extra black tea. Now another family walks in and they have many kids with them but they have been standing at the door for 7 mins without any employee coming over to them. 6 tables are open too. I have not been to BP in a minute. But since I have not been to this location and my family who lives around the area were curious to try, I just had to go. We came in on a Friday night around 9pm -- terrible decision if coming with a large group. The wait had to be at least 30 minutes. They were obviously very busy. When we finally got seated, it took the servers quite a while to get our orders. They were probably assuming we needed time to decide, but the waiting outside made us already know what we want and at this point, we were starving. Every second that passed, we just got even hangrier. Their hotspots are good though, that's a given. One pro of coming in with a big group is you get to eat one of each and you can just share around. I've had their beef, Taiwanese spicy (REALLY SPICY!), and Japanese miso before. So I just had their house special this time. I guess I just had a mild stroke and forgot that it has intestines and tripe which I don't really like, so I did not enjoy it as much. Everything else was really good. I like their different sauces. Amazing flavors. Excellent price. Only criticism is there's a lot of cabbage, but the filler isn't too bad considering the price isn't bad. All of these locations are pretty small for a restaurant, so expect a LONG wait time. Do not even try to come in a group larger than 4. Next time, I will ask them to not burn my heat gels. Went here at 9 on a Saturday night. Wait was about 30 minutes, this place is consistently busy. With good reason! The food is excellent! I did the spicy Taiwanese which I think is the number eight. I'm a die hard boiling point fan. I can literally eat this everyday if I could. Most of the places I've been to are usually really crowded and hectic and their customer service isn't the best. I tend to wait about 20 mins to half an hour for my food after ordering, but this place was fantastic with the service. Me and my friends came in around 12:30 for lunch and got seated right away. Our waiter was really on top of her game--- took our orders, got our food out within 15 mins, kept checking up on us and kept asking us if we needed more soup. I absolutely love this place! I have been to the other locations, but I like this one the best. The service is always good at this location and the waiters/ waitresses are more attentive to your needs. This location is pretty tiny so the wait can be long, especially for dinner. My favorite is the Beef Flavor and Taiwanese Spicy soup. There are also a few items that you can add to your soup, with an additional cost. There are also a few options of appetizers. It was quite bland (there were no spiciness levels to choose from), which is great because I had the freedom to give it the intensity of the flavour notes I liked. Boiling Point - Japanese Miso so good! - Taiwanese Near Me - Artesia, California

Food was same old same old, every boiling point tastes the same tbh. Service was terrible 0/5! When I have went to the Irvine or Garden Grove location, the servers would check in on us and ask if we want our fire off or more broth or just general if we needed anything. At this location, we got none of that... I understand that we came in at lunch peak, but after the crowds died down, nothing about their service changed. We wanted to get our fire turned off but I couldn't even grab any of the servers' attention. I literally had my arm straight up in the air for 2 minutes waiting, but no one came or it was because the servers had their back towards us. At the same time, the servers did not really walk in our proximity so it was very difficult to pull them over. As a result, we had to wait for the fire to die on its own which made our noodles super soggy and disgusting to the point where we didn't want to eat it. Usually, when you order the vermicelli or the rice, it would come in those little black bowls but we got them in plastic togo container/bowls. I looked around and saw that everyone else got the regular bowls. I also asked for an extra bowl to use to eat and they gave another plastic togo bowl to use. It was very uncomfortable to eat out of because the soup is obviously boiling hot so it made my hand and fingers very hot. We ordered extra drinks in addition to the complimentary lunch tea and we got the extra drinks quickly but our complimentary teas were forgotten. I had to remind the servers at the end when we were finishing up the check to give them to us. The check also took a couple minutes to come out and I know this because I was literally staring at the cashier area to see if it was coming or not. We even played a joke and said let's see how long it's gonna take for our check to come out. The supervisor I believe had to remind them again to get us our check. The table next to us knew the what I believe to be the supervisor so they best bet were getting special treatment like extra tea and getting the service I wished they were giving to everyone else. When the "supervisor" first brought out the check to us, I wanted to remind him that they forgot our teas but when I was mid-sentence, he literally rushed away so I was completely cut off which made me get very impatient and I had to ask the next server who came to grab our check. The worst part was they forgot the best part of getting the check which was getting those jelly packets. At that point, we were so over this place and left without feeling satisfied AND had no more patience to even ask them to give us the jelly packets. Do better lol never coming here again. read more

I love how short the wait is at this location! We were seated after 15 or so minutes, which is definitely faster than the Irvine location. The interior is clean and minimalistic and the waiters were very friendly! I hate to give a poor rating because it is one of my favorite restaurants. As that said, the disappointment is worse. Every time I go with friends or family I have notice that the staff never pays attention to the customers. They ALWAYS have their head down or face towards the kitchen. It's like if they are purposely avoiding eye contact. We always have to walk up to the staff or wave our hands for a couple minutes to get their attention. Also they never come up to the table to ask if we need anything. Today was the worst, especially going in at lunch time when it wasn't that busy. 4-5 staffs were working and it was impossible to get their attention. I knew I made the right choice by coming to this location. I'm a lot closer to another location but because my friends wanted to come to this location for its more favorable experience and service, we made the drive. The wait wasn't too long and the wait time was spot on with what the host had told us, if anything it was shorter. As soon as we were seated, our server explained that the menu must be scanned and that the sauces would be brought out to us. The servers were incredibly attentive and very nice and handle the rudest customers with patience and care. We heard one particular table hollering about how the business is still following social distancing guidelines and yelling about why their food was taking so long. Mind you, we were seated before them and we were also waiting our food. Unfortunately we were not sitting too far from them to hear them constantly complain and yell at multiple servers that were checking on them. As a manager of a restaurant myself, I find it very distasteful to hear customers yell and interrupt the servers with "customers are always right" and have no etiquette when speaking to their servers. Don't bite the hand that feeds you and be polite to your servers when it is noticeably busy. Other than that, the only other thing I was unsettled by was that there was no longer the five treasure. Hopefully I will be able to try it next time alongside my new favorite drink, the pineapple cooler P.S. Lunch: $11.99, Dinner: $12.99 For #8,9,10 lunch: $15.99, dinner: $16.99 1. #8 Taiwanese spicy hot soup: comes with cabbage, instant noodle, sliced angus beef, tempura, enaki mushroom, clam, Fuzhou clam ball, cuttlefish ring, pork intestine, pork blood rice cake, fried tofu skin, maitake mushroom, frozen tofu, green onion, and cilantro. It's pretty spicy!!! The only kind they serve is the most spicy (flaming spicy) with $8. It's pretty spicy. I didn't realize what the ingredients were until I jotted these down, but it didn't taste like what the ingredients say. 2. #4 beef hot soup: comes with napa, vermicelli, slice angus beef, enaki mushroom, tomato, firm tofu, tempura, corn meat ball (pork), kamaboko, fried tofu skin, imitation crab stick, green onion, and cilantro. It's honestly so sad I have to give this Boiling Point location a 1 star out of five because the food was good and majority of the employees were nice and respectful. However, what my friends and I have dealt with today was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional from not just any employee BUT the supervisor of tonight's (06.06) dinner shift by the name is Michael. Our first encounter with Michael was when he brought our last order to our table. However, they got the order wrong so my friend pointed out that she ordered her food without tomatoes and cilantro. Michael says "ok" and takes the order to the back. He then brings the food with no tomatoes and cilantro as ordered and then apologizes. At this point we didn't think there was any problem, especially our table causing a problem. Then towards the end of our meal Michael brings out the check and sets it at our table, to which my friend states that we will be ordering boba. With so much attitude he asks "okay, what do you want?" And we ask for more time. This is when we start noticing this guy has some attitude problem and he's starting to get really rude. After getting our drinks and everything we ask for the check and Michael brings us the check and slams it on our table and leaves with no word. So at this point my friend asks for the supervisor, in which it was Michael. When my friend pointed out the unprofessional attitude he had with specifically our table tonight and being very rude, Michael starts to argue back stating we were rude and had bad attitude. He called our table toxic and a problem for him. Throughout our encounter with Michael the only time we spoke to him was about the mistake in the order, notifying him of ordering drinks after our meal, and then confronting him about his poor behavior and attitude and apparently as customers who are willing to pay for food and services can't do that here and are told that they are being "toxic". Overall food from BP is consistent and good at all the other BP locations I've been to. Employees for the most part are nice, and regularly checks on tables with no issues. However, unfortunately, we will be contacting HR about Michael so that other paying customers don't have to be treated disrespectfully for pointing out a mistake in their order or wanting to order more food after their meal. read more

It's not spicy as you would think (but I like and can handle spice). The waiter was so sweet. He answered all our questions and even offered what was popular. I haven't written a review for years, but tonight's experience prompted me to log in to write a review. Our family of four went to the Boiling Point in Artesia location for dinner because tonight was cold and we felt like having hot pots. We are regulars to this location, but today we left within 10 minutes of waiting in line, and we have decided never to eat at Boiling Point again! What happened was, we went in to the restaurant to get a number from the ticket machine that is placed inside the restaurant at 5:46 pm on 11/05/2017. There were five people already waiting inside the restaurant, so we also waited inside. And we knew we shouldn't be standing in front of the closed door because that is just common sense not to block the door. We stood on the right side of the door and made sure the door was not blocked. Within five minutes, one employee came and told everyone by the indoor waiting area to stand outside because no one should be blocking the door. When he came to say this, no one was really blocking the door. Everyone continued to be standing at where they were and they didn't say anything to that employee. I told the employee we were not blocking the door and if it was okay to stay indoor due to my dad's health condition. He okayed, so we had that employee's permission to continue standing at where we were. More customers came in to get the number from the ticket machine, and a few were standing in front of the closed door indoor after getting the number. Within another five minutes of waiting, another younger looking Asian guy employee (who wears a black framed glasses) came and asked people to stand outside because the door shouldn't be blocked. I told that employee that we were not blocking the door, and besides, another employee earlier okayed us to stay indoor waiting at the same spot we had been standing for the past 10 minutes due to my dad's health condition. He "suggested" my dad to just take a chair to wait outside. I told him that it was cold outside, but he replied quickly, "It is cold inside too," while giving me this look/smile on his face like he just said something smart. At that moment, my brother just sighed and told him that, "You know what? That's okay, we will just go somewhere else to eat." And then that employee started to change to say, "That's okay, you can stay inside." Our mood to dine at the Boiling Point at the Artesia location had been totally ruined by that rude employee, so we just left the restaurant, even though that employee continued to say, "It's okay to wait indoor" behind us. (Other customers waiting indoor heard the whole conversation, and they just cotinued waiting indoor while seeing us leaving the restaurant.) A couple of suggestions to the management team of the Boiling Point at the Artesia location: 1) If you freak out easily that customers would wait indoor with the possibility of blocking the closed door, please put a sign on the door or something telling people to "Stand Outside Waiting for Your Number to Be Called". You don't have to come tell customers once every 5 minutes to wait outdoor, and we wouldn't be annoyed by the employees coming to tell us to not block the door frequently. 2) If you really don't want customers to wait indoor, please place the ticket machine OUTDOOR, so the chance of customers getting the number and then just waiting indoor would be lower, since the ticket machine would already be outdoor for people to get the number. (And even better, just lock the door, and only open it to let the customers whose number is called in. This will efficiently prevent customers waiting indoor.) 3) Please re-educate your less experienced staff not to talk back to a customer (who got permission to wait indoor by another employee), especially the one who frequently visit the restaurant. The employees who get paid hourly and on shifts may not care much if they piss off and chase the customers away, but I think the management team would care enough about the business and would know customer service is important. read more

Employees should be capable of taking an order- especially while using a note pad and pen all the meanwhile being slow and concise about it. Or at least that's what I thought. All I wanted was my Milk cream curry with no vermicelli in the broth, yet what I received was unfortunately covered in vermicelli.al although this could've been avoided, this ultimately let me receive my broth while the rest of my party is just about finished. As I type this review, I'm starving (and have been for the past 20 minutes not including waiting time) and am short on time....Am I happy? Not in the slightest. Update mid process: My original order contained a meat upgrade but sadly, the remake did not which is very upsetting since I've been waiting so long. This inconsistency is very disappointing considering the popularity of boiling point. I know the servers or staff may not care of these reviews, but considering that a staff member named Travis, also spilled hot broth on my leg while placing down the pot and did not even apologize goes to show the work ethic and respect that you can expect to receive from time to time again. I appreciate the effort it took to accommodate my seemingly overwhelming order so that is why I'm giving two stars. Otherwise, as a server myself, I can't help but expect more. Will I come back? Disappointed with this location. There were 2 A parties, 4 B parties, and 1 C party ahead of me and the wait was over an hour. That's not even the frustrating part - at one point, I counted over six empty and clean tables and they did not call even one party in. They would call one number, get a no show, then would disappear for a good 15 minutes before calling another despite having available tables. Wouldn't you normally call the next number in line? They do sort you by number of people in your party after all (A being 1-2 people, B 3-4, C 5+), so it would be easy to figure out who they can call next. Food was alright, service was tolerable (not the greatest, but not horrid either, so I can give them a pass on it) but they need to be more efficient with seating. It is not good practice to leave your customers out in the cold when you clearly have many available tables. read more

He was really nice, made the experience more fun and always went out of his way to find the answers to our questions. Brian was also a great server as well despite still being a trainee. I have been coming here a little more often since it is so close to my house. They have some new hot pots. I honestly forgot their names but they have two new ones. I am on a mission to try all of their different hot pots to choose which one is my favorite. I usually always get beef or taiwanese. I used to share the taiwanese but since I am unable to share it anymore I havent been getting it. Upon walking in they leave the check in at the front so its fast. When people leave, the servers cleans up the tables very fast and gets the next person in swiftly. Everything comes out fast and the servers are always around if you need more soup or if you need your fire off. read more

It gets super busy very quickly for lunch and dinner. The staff is attentive and on point even when they delivered the wrong order to us, they admit their fault before we started eating it. They apologized and quickly made the adjustments. I definitely appreciate that they have the balls to do that. There's not a lot of Asian restaurant that does this, trust me. As far as seating arrangements and waiting time, could they do better by having more kitchen space and server support? Sure, if they have the money to expand. But, I believe that there are reasons why they don't seat people right away when a table is ready, and that's because they acknowledge that they are understaff and doing the best they can to accommodate as well as keeping the quality of food at its best. I'd rather wait outside, explore the area than having to wait inside, sitting and waiting and writing bad reviews or knocking down a star because I had to sit and wait so long for my food.
