I've had Bon Chon in various locations , Massachusetts, Palo Alto, Huntington Beach and was so excited to learn there was one in my area and didn't have to wait for work travel to have their crispy, juicy and delicious chicken. I talked so highly about this chain and was so happy to finally take my husband here. Sadly this branch was Extremely lacking. Went on a Saturday for lunch. It was pretty empty so the service, although fast (1 star) was staffed up front, by a young adult female who seemed quite out of it and mostly scrolling on her phone. She seemed so confused when I ordered and took my order wrong. That's forgivable. But what I had a problem with is when I order my chicken spicy, it was served dry. I went to the counter to notify her of the mistake, she took my plate and brought out my chicken with very light sauce. Hardly enough to cover my chicken. The chicken was so thin and dry. Huge disappointment compared to every other location I have visited. I do give another star because another worker was quick to clean off tables when guest leave. That's a good sign. Came here during soft opening and was pleasantly surprised with the food quality and service. Being a soft opening, we arrived at the restaurant with tempered expectations. Soft openings are notorious for slow service and food that isn't up to par to the full potential of the restaurant. We ordered the 12-piece spicy chicken wings, kimchi mac n cheese, and corn (think of elote). I just have to say this soft opening blew my expectations out of the water. We heard our number called in about 5-10 minutes letting us know that our order was ready. The wings were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The Kimchi Mac n Cheese was phenomenal. The saltiness of the kimchi paired well with the creaminess of the cheese. The corn I didn't get to try much of because my husband swallowed it all before I could even touch it. The restaurant itself was very clean. The staff was very welcoming. Management obviously spent a large amount of time interviewing and training the employees. OMG. Bonchon fried chicken is bomb dot com and this location has the best of the best. Bonchon's doubled fried chicken wings topped with a sultry soy glaze is out of this world good. I placed an order for 12 wings and instantly regretted not ordering the 20 pack. The wings were perfectly crispy, juicy and fatty. Their kimchi mac and cheese was welcoming, hearty and had just the right amount of kimchi for a soulful fusion experience. Service is always great but the last time I came the chicken was not up to Bonchon or any Korean fried chicken standards IMO. Drumsticks: Decently sized/quite large :) I was super hungry but got full after 3-4 drums + sides [spicy] - if you like hot chicken that make you sweat, get these LOL the crunchy skin/juicy chicken paired with their slightly sweet/spicy sauce is super addictive. Had an opportunity to try out the latest store. Inside, the tables and floors are continually cleaned after guests leave. The staff are welcoming and friendly. I ordered the traditional bone-in wings and Bulgogi House Fried Rice (not pictured because I had that to-go). I didn't wait long for my order to be served to me at the table. The soy wings are flavorful and crispy. The spicy wings are also crispy whilst the spice slowly builds up behind a kimchi flavor (?).. not quite sure how to describe the flavor profile. Preeeeeetty disappointed tbh. Prices are fine overall, nothing exorbitant, but when was really bummed when I got the food. *Note* This is from takeout, your mileage my vary in person. Wings were tiny. I mean, tiny. 2 of the 12 wings were the size of my thumb. Got the soy garlic wings and it was also extremely salty. Also had no garlic flavor whatsoever, so it was quite disappointing. We chose the side cole slaw and they put it in the sauce container. I mean, really? It was literally 1 bite. I almost thought it was a joke but that was it. Not to mention usually Korean shops usually give you both pickled radish and a slaw of some kind, they had the audacity to make you chose between the 2. Korean Street Corn was also extremely disappointing. Seasoned Fries were good, but there wasn't a lot. It probably equates to the same as a McDonald's small fries, but for $7. I'll consider giving them another try, especially since they haven't had their grand opening yet, but so far didn't do it for me. read more

Deliciousness.. truly the most crunchy fried chicken. Had the soy garlic and the hubs had the spicy flavor. The soy garlic was perfectly seasoned and slightly sweet. The hubs liked the spicy flavor although he said it could've been more spicy. Size of the chicken pieces were great too. Will definitely be back for more! read more

First time eating here and the food and service were amazing! Husband and I split the 8 piece wing (1/2 & 1/2) combo with coleslaw & seasoned fries! Everything was delicious the wings were very Krispy and super flavorful. The spicy is on the hot side but still very much enjoyable. Update: 9.16.2024: Returned here after 2 years since my friends wanted some fried chicken, and I honestly didn't think much about my last experience. Last time I was here I got sick from the food. But in all honesty, I forgot that I had gotten sick so I had no negative reaction when I walked in. It wasn't until I had seen I already reviewed this location that I realized that I had given a negative review that I remembered the last time I was here. Walked in, was more busy than the last time I came in (no customers were in the store last time, this time there was a short line). Staff was in a rush so I was patient, and they were really trying their best to deal with the rush. They did a pretty good job and they were efficient in getting everyone their food. Staff was friendly, this time they did not ask for a yelp review, which this time I kind of wished they did since my experience with the servers were really helpful and I appreciated the positive service. They were quick with taking my order, and I really appreciated that he was not rushing us even with the rush he had experienced. Food came out in like 15 minutes, super quick and they did a really good job at helping us all out. Got the Soy Garlic wings again, and again I really enjoyed them. Didn't get the spicy this time but its not that bad from what I remember. And honestly, that's everything I have to say about them. They had a good amount of meat and they weren't dry at all, well sauced and it had flavor that I really enjoyed. Im glad to know that the food was consistently good and that my memory was correct. We didn't stay inside the shop that long, we took our food to go and it was good. What I can say is that the decoration was nice and it had a nice looking environment. They had some music, didn't pay much attention to it, but everything was clean and I would eat there in the future. I came to yelp to see what I had said last time I was at this location. I was really surprised I had given it such a negative review. When I read it, I remembered what I had experienced, and I am glad to report that I was not sick. I was in on September 16th, 2 years after my last review. I saw that management had reached out (I really don't look at my reviews after I post them, and rarely will respond to comments left under them) and I never reached out to them. I hope they see that the experience I had last time had to have been a one-off experience (however I will take a free meal for that experience lol [just kidding]). I want to come back, I'm not in the area anymore but if I am I will probably come back. Glad that management is involved with the location and I am glad that my experience last time was just an outlier experience. Overall I am happy with my experience. Rarely do I see management care about the customers to that extent, and I appreciate their effort to reach out after my experience. Food is good service not so much The chicken is always good here the japchae is inconsistent. First of all it's so loud, they should lower the music a tad bit. They told me the drumstick was 40 minutes so I asked what's a better option for me. He said the wings, so I chose the wings. Turns out they only had 20 pieces of it left so I settled for that and the boneless chicken wings. I followed up on my order after a few minutes. I think the cook was the one who answered. It was the way he answered that was very disrespectful. I was very soft spoken when I asked him. He said I'll just give you a refund, that's not what I was asking for. He also said I can't serve you the chicken raw. That is a very sarcastic and demeaning comment sir. I still spoke to you with respect and kept my cool. I said if I knew the wings were 30 minutes I would have chosen a different restaurant. I don't have a choice but to wait for my order now that I have invested my time. I really wanted to leave and get my money but the food was for my mom, who just had a procedure done and was very hungry. All I was asking was a follow up on my order. I hope they train their people some good manners and better customer service. I get that you cook the chicken when we order it. I originally was really annoyed and upset about what happened because I had already been charged and I didn't receive my food. I called this morning and I talked to one of the associates who helped me with my order and the incident from the night before. I was able to come in ASAP to get my order. I would've given a lower review if i had received no help but thanks to Alyssa up front my feelings about this place have changed. She handled everything quickly and efficiently. 10/10 read more

Spent $50 to have cold food not even hot and the pork buns were hard as rock. And the fries were cold as well. It was my second time to eat here and I was thinking that my first visit was just a miss. Unfortunately, the soy garlic 6 pc. boneless wings were exactly the same as the first. The coating is very thick, dry, and really hard. My experience may have been different if I ordered for the regular wings. As for the service, the crew is polite and would even bring the food to your table. The place is clean and spacious, which makes me wonder why the tables then are close to each other. read more
