After finishing the fish, I was left with a plate full of broth, rendering the plate unusable. Plus, it was overpriced; for this dish, you're better off going to Strip House Strip House remains the undisputed king of this dish in New York. A friend ordered the chicken parmesan. It was just average. Another friend ordered the short rib stroganoff. The flavor was decent, but it was far too rich and heavy. As someone whose palate is split 50/50 between Western and Chinese cuisine, I could manage only five bites at most. If you have a palate that prefers 100% Chinese food, proceed with caution on this dish. Friends ordered sides of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. These are dishes originally meant for low-income Americans to fill up on cheaply; there's no limit to how good they can be, but also no floor to how bad they can get. Both were on par with the average quality found in upscale restaurants. Honestly, these are two dishes I would never order myself. To sum up: the atmosphere was great. It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. Aside from that monkey bread, I didn't feel like anything else justified the price or offered something you couldn't find elsewhere. I don't quite get the hype. Perhaps I just didn't order the right dishes; maybe next time I'll try the burger and the steak.

The King Crab Rangoon (8/10) was packed with crab, almost too much for my taste, but the sweet chili and hot mustard sauces balanced it out nicely. The Espresso Martini (6/10) was a pretty standard espresso martini. The Long Island Cold Brew (3/10) tasted like cold brew mixed with vodka, which just wasn't for me. Service was fine overall (7/10). The highlight was the complimentary sorbet they brought out for my friend's birthday. The vibes were classic Hogsalt with dim lighting, old-school jazz, and a cozy atmosphere (7/10).

Would I come back for brunch again? Very unlikely. But, it does seem like a pretty "safe choice" if you need a last minute reservation for a group.

My wife enjoyed an "Above the Clouds" craft cocktail - with a butterfly pea-infused gin. The presentation was elevated by an artistic bubble applied over the cocktail that dissipated into vapor with the touch of a finger. The bartenders were friendly, knowledgeable, and outgoing! The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I live nearby and have seen the owners of the place. Owners should make it a thing to visit , keep a check and not leave the place to run under the eyes of their employees. My experience at Boots & Bones tonight was completely unacceptable, and the behavior of the security staff was both unprofessional and disrespectful. My girlfriend and I came in simply to grab food, both dressed casually in sweats. The security guard stopped me at the door and, in a rude and dismissive manner, told me I could not enter because of my "athletic pants." Meanwhile, my girlfriend--wearing similar athletic attire--was allowed in without hesitation. This wasn't just inconsistent--it was blatantly arbitrary. What made the situation worse was the tone and attitude of the guard. There was no attempt to explain the policy respectfully, no professionalism, and no courtesy--just a dismissive, almost confrontational approach that immediately set a negative tone. If there is a dress code, enforce it evenly and communicate it respectfully. Singling people out while allowing others dressed the same to walk in is not just poor management--it reflects a lack of accountability and basic customer respect. Security staff are the first impression of your establishment, and tonight that impression was one of arrogance, inconsistency, and disregard for paying customers. I strongly recommend that management address both the conduct of their door staff and the inconsistent enforcement of their policies. 0 stars if i could showed up at 5:30 to watch the knicks finals game 5 (8:30pm game) and were told we couldn't sit, even though there were plenty of open tables, because they were "kicking everyone out at 8" after the world cup game. annoying, but fine. we stood at the bar for two hours waiting. then at 7:45, they told us they actually weren't kicking anyone out who was already sitting. so... the entire reason we weren't allowed to sit down when we arrived was apparently fake? when we pointed that out, instead of apologizing or figuring it out, they kicked us out. truly one of the dumbest hospitality experiences i've ever had. don't make people stand around for two hours based on a policy you made up and then act shocked when they're annoyed and refuse them service. this was one of our favorite neighborhood bars before this incident, and now, we'll never be back. read more

The service at this restaurant was fantastic! Francis was a one-man show--serving, running food, and bussing tables all by himself. He had a great attitude, was constantly checking in on us, and really made the experience feel personal. One thing that stood out (in a not-so-great way) was that there were three bartenders at the bar who didn't seem busy, yet none of them stepped in to help Francis. Still, he handled everything like a pro. The food was amazing overall--super flavorful! The only minor things: the brisket loaded potato was a bit bland and could've used more cheese, and the bacon on the mac and cheese was a little salty for my taste. But everything else was delicious. very racist place. a friend of mine was asked to leave. someone took a seat in his friends chair and he told the guy this seat is taken. that same guy knew the owner and the owner kicked my friend out saying he was harassing customer. my friend then went on to tell the owner to review the cameras to see he was telling the truth. owner refused. my friend was a dark skin guy and of course the other guy was white. the crowd is 95% white. very racist place read more

But the star of the show was undoubtedly the namesake burger. It's one of the best burgers I've had in a long, long time. The grass-fed beef was so perfectly cooked--all the hearty meat flavor you could want and full of succulent jus. The other accompaniments were placed perfectly within the rich, toasted brioche bun, making every bite feel like the culinary equivalent of Jon Bon Jovi singing in your mouth (or insert other American musical icon of your choice). The price was reasonable however I did not know that I would be charged a dollar (technology) fee to use my credit card, but maybe it was an oversight by me. The food did not take long to be ready and in less than 10 minutes I was back out the door. The mozzarella sticks were good. You got about six of them, marinara sauce and they were tasty. When I first saw the amount, I got nervous, but I'm glad that they tasted good. They were just the right temperature and the marinara sauce was good as well. If you're in the area, and need a quick bite this may be your spot. By the way, parking is trash in the area so good luck with that.

Unfortunately it's always busy because it's right near the path station where commuters & travelers stop for food or drinks, so that's where they get most of their business, but some of the residents and regulars that have been supporting that place before Grove Station, have been treated unfairly and personally targeted. I have seen it throughout the years. I'm appalled, and hoping to see change.
