This review is for their weekend brunch. Absolutely delicious! 10/10. We will be back. The benedict and the churro tots were the highlight of the meals. But honestly there were no bad dishes. The only thing to note is that water is the only liquid included. Any other beverages such as coffee, tea, soda, etc need to be paid in addition. We liked the outdoor seat, but even though it was covered, after a while it got hot. I guess no surprise for vegas in July. Our server was great and very attentive. The place is good for large groups as there was a table of 6 next to us having a blast. We cant wait to go back.
We went on a weeknight during a busy conference visit with a large group of 15. We made reservations ahead and the staff was accommodating. What I had a taste for wasn't exactly on the menu but the server helped me put something together. I had a side of broccolini with a side of white rice and a side of chicken. It was exactly what I needed. Everything was delicious! We will be back!
Went here for brunch with 3 companions and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. We got the brunch which is unlimited small plates. They also have unlimited drink options but we chose single cocktails- they were delicious. We were seated outside by the pool; it was a bit loud and the service just a tiny bit slow, but we felt like everything was perfect. We tried many small plates- all creative and delicious! Chilequiles, French toast, smoked salmon toasts , Eggs Benedict with beef , chia pudding, tamales, guacamole. We had a few different margaritas which were all delicious. They brought me a shot of pineapple infused tequila as we were celebrating my birthday! Would go back here in a heartbeat!
We came for the weekend brunch at Border Grill and did the unlimited small plates with bottomless mimosas.... definitely the way to go. The portions come out small, but that's kind of the point. It lets you try a bunch of different dishes without getting stuck with something you don't love. Honestly, everything we had was really good.... flavorful, fresh, and came out pretty quickly. The bottomless mimosas were solid and consistently refilled (no long waits, which matters). Service overall was friendly and attentive without being over the top, which made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed. If you're expecting big, heavy plates, this might not be your thing, but if you're into trying a variety of dishes and making it more of an experience, it's a great brunch spot on the Strip.
We got seated really quickly and the service was great our waiter was very attentive and had a lot of great recommendations.The food was delicious and i was very impressed with the taquitos. I love when we get free chips and salsa it's always such a hit. We ordered a pitcher of margs and it was so worth it.
Best AYCE brunch on the Strip. This is a buffet that is brought to you by- you order 3-4 small plates at a time and they are quickly delivered to your table. We loved that the meal wasn't broken up by jumping up and down for more food and also loved that we knew someone hadn't sneezed on the tongs as can happen in buffets. The food itself was great - a nice variety of savory and sweet. We especially loved the horchata french toast, the chicken and churro waffles (they have a kick!) and the campechana. They were also willing to remove meat from dishes as my spouse doesn't eat beef or pork. We didn't do the bottomless mimosas - but did have an espresso martini which was delicious.
I like this place more than I thought I would. Service was quick and friendly. The food was extraordinarily well prepared absolutely no issue with quality for the money. They could've been slightly larger portions, but it was fine. The margaritas could've been a tad better as could be Trace Leche cake. The caramel flan was pretty good all at all. I would say these guys exceeded my expectations.
Highly recommended to make a reservation if you want to eat here. We arrived at 1ish in the afternoon, two adults with a baby in a stroller...took a little for the young lady to find a spot for us. She eventually found a table that could accommodate us on the patio. Mind you, today is very windy and they also have the heaters above on, so it's a strange feeling sitting out here. It's very loud, but we're in Vegas so that's to be expected. We sat here for a while waiting for our server. We never got any water or chips like the other tables. Very disappointing that it took about 15 minutes until our server came to our table and asked if she could get us a drink. I ordered a white peach lemonade mocktail and it was a great refresher. We also asked for water and it took a good 5 minutes to get those. Also got the Guac of the Month, which was basically their typical guac with bacon and garlic, very good. It's pleasing to the eye as well, topped with kale (she can eat that) HA! We ordered tacos, spicy shrimp, fish, and carne asada. The plate comes with three tacos, beans and rice; you may either get all 3 of the same, or mix and match as we did for a few bucks more. Welp, the plate arrived and I was not impressed. Let's see if it taste great....and disappointed. I do. It recommend the fish taco, maybe it was an off day, but it was too fishy, like sardines. We did not enjoy that. The carne asada was okay, the meat was soft but there was no seasoning that made the meat flavorful. All you could taste was salsa topping on it. As for the spicy shrimp taco, that was great. Flavorful and tasty; a bit oily, but it was the best tasting taco out of all three that we ordered. I tried it, I most likely won't return. Try it and see if you have a better experience. Also, the server only came back once at the end of our meal.
Decent spot to visit at Mandalay Bay during the daytime since many of the restaurants don't open til later in the evening. The restaurant is tucked away from the main casino floor closer to the food court and convention halls. The service was slower and food was almost delivered to the wrong table multiple times. The waffle fries had good seasoning but were too hard. The burger was good but the juices left the buns soggy. The fish tacos were excellent though.
It's become a bit of a game day tradition for us to come to Border Grill for brunch before home Raiders games at nearby Allegiant Stadium. It's an easy walk and this is a terrific place to get full bellies and pregame! On weekends, Border Grill features a bottomless small plates brunch for around 50 bucks. It's an incredible deal with a good variety of dishes so you can sample lots of different things from the menu. Even better, you can add on all-you-can-drink Mimosas, Micheladas, or Bloody Marys for less than $40! To me, this is where the value lies. I do wish the brunch menu had more options, but note that you can also order off a limited lunch menu. Here's my pro tip #1: you can still get the bottomless cocktails deal if you order an entree! Score! I usually get the chicken quesadilla with black beans and rice and bottomless Mimosas. It's pricey but worth it (especially because the drinks keep flowing). The mimosas come with three different juices (usually orange, cranberry, and then a juice of the day). My favorite is when they have the blood orange or strawberry. The bubbles are in the form of a bottle of Italian prosecco that's a decent quality. It's not fancy, but it'll do. There is a two hour limit on the bottomless booze. Pro tip #2: ask for a to-go cup when you're ready to leave. You can pour in a mimosa and take it with you as you walk over to the stadium! The vibe is lively but relaxed, with indoor and outdoor seating. There are some patio tables overlook the pool area, which adds a fun, sunny touch if the weather is nice. The restaurant is casual, colorful, and energetic without being chaotic. The indoor dining area lacks character, but I do enjoy the small bar here. It's a pretty big space that occupies two stories. My favorite place to sit is on the covered outdoor deck area during the cooler fall months. I've also dined here for dinner, but the brunch is where the bargain is. Locals, they've recently discontinued the locals discount but they do have a new frequent diner program so make sure you ask to sign up. The points and freebies rack up quickly. You can also utilize and earn points across a variety of restaurants that are also run by Chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger. Border Grill has good, chef-driven food, offers bottomless drinks, and provides a fun, festive atmosphere. If you're in Vegas on a Raiders game day, the brunch is a no-brainer for pregame eats.
Went to Border Grill today for a work lunch. It was a great spot! I truly loved the chips, guac and salsa at the table. I ordered the carne asada tacos. They were good! I like extra spice so I asked for salsa on the side. The service was great! I loved the music and the inside of the restaurant is very spacious.
EAT BEFORE YOU GET HERE! Not even kidding the portion sizes are so small seriously like over priced tapas the food is good not feeling. We sat inside the restaurant not on the patio or whatever the decor seems like an afterthought in a hurry to put something in this space. Our server was cool food didn't take long to get to the table but I don't imagine a lot goes into making expensive "tapas". Would I eat here absolutely not I'm not a large mammal either but plates $30+ a pop for whatever they want to call I'll pass.
I finally made it to the Border Grill at the Mandalay Bay. There were no appropriate signs to find this place, until the end. There's all this hype about the famous LA chefs who now have outposts over here. I came here for something different and started with the trio of salsas. That was good. The seafood enchilada seemed from a frozen bag then baked. More like taquitos. Tough and dry on the outside. Only nice optics. Yes, looks can be deceptive. The inside components were supposed to have crab, lobster and shrimp. Zero texture. Seafood flavor only. More of a mash. Did not see any of the components, except a small cut up piece of shrimp or two. It was also excessively salty, giving me further affirmation that what came to my table, was probably from a package. I asked Justin the server, whether it was freshly prepared ...he said it was prepared in the morning and then kept. All the facts did not add up. No fresh taste. The side of rice and black beans (does not come with it. You have to order it separately, for a cost) were okay. Anyone can make them. The way I see it, an experience at any restaurant needs to be holistic. The unfriendly hostess Michelle, sent me on two runarounds. One to a restroom really far away, when there was one close by from the inside of the restaurant. And then sent me in the opposite direction for a non existent Uber pick up location. The busboy Jose, was very rude and laughed at me, when I tried to change tables to avoid the sunlight glare (I take a photosensitive medication). Stephanie, the manager, on the other hand, was understanding and empathetic. Chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger are highly regarded, established and lauded Chefs, that have a well deserved reputation. How come this did not translate to Las Vegas. The whole experience was nothing much to talk about.

Excellent Green Corn Tamales! I've been coming here for 15 years with friends and family for great times and great meals. Their corn tamales are so yummy that I sometimes get a couple orders as my meal. For their refreshingly good guac, they provide plenty of crispy tortilla chips and it's sharable among 4 people. Then their signature Border Ceviche looks and tastes like a party with a hint of spice. I finished all of it! Meet me at the Border! NOTES/TIPS: **Great for groups! Super dependable. Wheelchair-accessible. **You can use OpenTable for reservations but they're usually not busy mid-afternoon. **Their outdoor space has an overhang that overlooks the casino's beach/pool area. **All of their cocktails are delicious but on the weaker side so you might want to order a double. read more

Visited Border Grill when staying at Mandalay Bay for dinner. The restaurant was nice, I ate outside so got a nice view of the pool at dinner. The wait was a few minutes there was not a lot of people but the service was pretty slow. The waiter brought water and chips, guacamole and salsa right when we sat down.The food was good however the enchiladas, aguachile and steak was small portion for the price. The children quesadilla was large ended up taking them back to the room. read more

HORRIBLE!! My husband order the skirt steak for $40 and it came out SO small! It was laughable, smaller than a kids portion and I wish I took a photo of it. Our server was super sweet and asked what else she could get him and he ordered chicken enchiladas instead. They came and were SMALLER than a taquito!!!! Total joke for what you pay for here!!!! I recently dined here and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The food was delicious although on the expensive side for what you get. The service was attentive and friendly and the view really added to the atmosphere. If you're looking for a place with great service and a nice ambiance, this could be a good spot--just be prepared to spend a little more than usual for average food. read more
Dinner... Short and sweet: a wonderful meal and a very comforting atmosphere. As always, both food and service at Border Grill are top-notch! Biggest problem I always have, and this is a good problem to have, is what to order. Everything on the menu sound yummy and tastes yummy. I'm blessed to eat with a family that shares. It's not exactly like making a buffet out the situation but we all taste each other's... so maybe it is like a buffet. LOL I'm always looking for a good reason to eat at Border Grill. Compared to all the places we ate in Vegas this weekend including a Michelin star place down the street, the Border Grill ended up as our favorite experience when you consider the service, the price point and the food. The restaurant ran out of tofu enchiladas so the chef provided mini-tamales for the whole table that words cannot describe. We loved the plantains equally as well. The drinks have a nice pour so you won't be disappointed. I'd pass on the Brussel sprouts but otherwise everything was just great. read more

A solid Mexican restaurant located at Mandalay Bay. Chips (needs a little salt) and salsa was alright. It's more of an upscale Mexican restaurant but not like expensive as Javier's which is my gold standard in Vegas. A big plus is they have a kids menu. My Lomo Saltado presentation was nice. Comes out in a sizzling plate. The flavors was good but needed a little more salt and steak was well done- preferred mine medium rare, but you don't get a choice but still very tender. My wife's duck carnitas dish was really good. Service was great. It's nice MB has a wide variety of restaurants so you don't have to trek it to the other casinos. read more

I usually come here every time I'm in Vegas. The food used to be amazing. I found this place during the pandemic so understandably it's become more crowded as things eased. It's seems the staff has been unable to grow with the demand. The wait for anything seems like forever. The service was rushed and horrible. Such a let down. My ceviche was extremely fishy and the waitress argues when I pointed it out. Im giving one star for all my past experiences, but truth be told, I had a problem with the service last time that I was here. I did not Yelp about it because I liked the place so much. This time, Im drawing the line. Las Vegas has some great Mexican food, so I would recommend looking elsewhere. Mandalay Bay is on the end of the strip anyways. Quite the drive from anywhere. The parking is super far away and is no longer worth the walk. read more
Without reservations, we were immediately seated on a Thursday evening. The menu is not gigantic, but it really doesn't need to be. I've eaten here before, and had a great meal. We ordered the Seafood enchiladas and the Molcajete seafood bowl. We also ordered tortilla chips and salsa, which included three different styles: Chipotle, red, and green tomatillo salsa. All were very good. The seafood enchiladas had lobster, shrimp and crab and included fire roasted corn and creme sauce. The seafood bowl was very good. The sauce was like a Colorado sauce, great red chile flavor with onions and peppers, but not too hot. It included muscles in the shell, clams in the shell, shrimp, and lots of small scallops. We were very glad to get a second serving of chips and salsas. The server was very attentive, provided quick refills and was very friendly. The interior was clean and nice. It was a nice dinner to have before their Cirque du Soleil MJ1 show! read more

Absolutely not worth it. After seeing reviews about this place and finding out that their 'border brunch' was back we were intrigued to try it. We ended up coming after our flight landed and were super hungry. The food was less than mediocre. Almost everything came out at room temperature. The chia parfait and shrimp cocktail were not cold. Additionally the shrimp cocktail just looked extremely unappetizing we didn't even try it. However, the only thing that did arrive cold was the tres leches cake. The churro bites were very doughy in the middle. We liked the diablo fried chicken, it was decent compared to the others. However the customer service here was good, we asked to sit outside on the upstairs patio so we could have a nice view and they accommodated us and out servers were really kind as well. However, I wouldn't recommend the border brunch especially for $44 a person. read more

Decent food, small portions and somewhat high prices. The customer service is excellent and no wait time. I had the Lomo Saltado, which came with red tortillas and white rice. The Lomo Saltado had avocado and tortillas which doesn't happen with Peruvian food. The food was eclectic and decent. Not bad food and not terrible expensive when compared to other restaurants in the hotel that can cost a lot more. read more

This was the best food we had in Las Vegas. The free appetizer was fresh chips with 3 types of unique and tasty salsas. We also had the queso fundido with carnitas that was excellent. Our entrees were the chicken poblano enchiladas and carne asada quesadillas. The enchiladas were a small plate but were wonderful. The quesadillas were a large portion. The service was outstanding and we enjoyed the whole experience. Indoor/outdoor seating with booths and low top tables. Full bar. Cloth napkins that are shined by wait staff. Secretly located in South Mandela Bay near the the shark reef. Reservations recommended. I will definitely return. read more

Came here with a big group of 12 and we got seated with a short notice! Good: There are complimentary nachos which taste great and there are a lot of nice sauces. I got the empanadas which tasted really great but were a bit oily - they have a really good sauce that it comes with and is surprisingly filling. The Brussel sprouts here are also quite tasty and sweet. Bad: The food here comes in very small portions so it's pretty expensive! It also is really oily so it feels kind of bad to eat. Overall was a good experience and wouldn't come again but enjoyed the experience. read more
My friends and I truly enjoyed dining here. It's located in a fairly isolated part of the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Vegas, near the food court. I didn't even know it was there, but I was exploring the hotel and lo and behold, there it was! I had tacos and absolutely devoured them. Equally as tasty, the side of brussel sprouts. They were over the top yummy! The chips and salsa were served hot, which I loved! Most places they are barely warm. You get a variety of salsas, too. There is something for everyone. The atmosphere overall is good, although the tables are super close together. I don't mind chatting to an occasional stranger while I dine, but on this occasion, the woman at the neighboring table had bathed in perfume, making my dining experience a little unpleasant. It's not the restaurant's fault except we were so close together, she backed her chair into me. So, yeah, I could smell her. Ugh. That aside, I enjoyed myself. The staff was nice, too. This was our first stop after the airport and it was one of our favorite meals in the trip! Located inside Mandalay Bay, it's a great large spot to grab lunch or dinner. We opted for the ahi tuna which had a bit of a kick and came with delicious fried plantain chips and the enchilada trio (seafood, chicken, short ribs). All of the enchiladas were delicious, but my favorite was the short ribs one. Our server also convinced us to try dessert, so we got the churro ice cream sandwich with salted caramel ice cream and berries. DIVINE. Save room for dessert or enlist the help of your second stomach because there is always room for dessert! read more

At $43.99 per person this was my Vegas splurge! Things started off a bit slow. My reservation was for 11:15am, I arrived at 11:05, but due to the onslaught of Raider fans, the kitchen was backed up and they weren't able to seat me until 11:30. It wasn't until 12:05 until the first dishes came out. I tried everything on the menu, except for the campechana, which they didn't have. - Avocado Salmon Toast - If you like salmon, then this is a must try. It was salty and creamy and absolutely delish! - Chilaquiles - My least favorite dish. It was just kind of boring. This advertised a fried egg, but it was served as a scrambled egg. I kind of was expected an egg over easy or something more fancy. - Spicy Chicken Tamale - Ordered two of these. The first time, I thought it was just okay, but the second version that came out was much better. It tasted fresher and the chicken wasn't as dried out. - Drunken Peruvian Toast - Although it was hard to pick, this was probably my favorite dish! Very unique and loaded with so much flavor. I adored the pisco syrup and the pineapple compote. It tastes great as a dessert too! - Manchego Cheese Biscuit and Gravy - Loved this! I'm a big fan of biscuits and gravy and this was a unique twist on this dish. - Diablo Fried Chicken - Another great dish! It wasn't too spicy. Could have done with less chipotle aioli sauce though. - Yucas Bravas - These were just okay. Probably my second least favorite dish. It was just very heavy and tasted like a fried potato. - Steak and Egg - The first time this came out, it was good, the second time we got this dish, the steak was incredible! (It was cooked more rare, so the meat was considerably more tender. - Chef's secret pancakes were lemon and and poppyseed with a blueberry compote. These were excellent and they were super generous with the blueberries. - Green Corn Tamales - Really good. If you like corn pudding, then you'll like this. - Peruvian Shrimp and Grits - I'm not too familiar with grits, but I do love shrimp. This was a fantastic dish. The grits were very tasty and the shrimp's red sauce was loaded with flavor. - Lobster Cachapas - Really great! This is like corn bread and pancake mixed together. Also, they didn't skimp on the lobster! - Short rib Hash and eEg - Meat was very tender. This was supposed to come with "egg caramelized onion," but I'm not sure what that was about. It just looked and tasted like scrambled egg to me. - Churro tots - Pretty standard donut holes. Solid raspberry sauce. - Prickly pear chia parfait - This was a great dessert to end the meal. The lemon zest gave it a refreshing I had a great time, the food quality was high and this is a great alternative to a buffet. Small complaint 1: The food was a bit inconsistent. For example, on the green corn tamales, the first time didn't come out with the salsa fresco and sour cream. The second one we ordered had the sour cream. Also, on the steak and eggs we didn't get guacamole on the second order. Small complaint 2: We were seated right at the front of the entrance near the bar. There wasn't much ambiance. Was slightly disappointed when I came to Border Grill for brunch over the weekend. I heard great reviews on TikTok so wanted to check them out. My girls and I got bottomless mimosas (two of us opted for a vanilla margarita, which was clearly a better choice). We ordered the Short Rib Enchiladas, Quesadillas, and steak nachos to share. Everything was just over cooked and pretty bland. All meats were dry. Of course the only thing that saved this place was the great service and the fact that we got inebriated... def won't be back. read more

Made reservations for a a group of 13 in the dining area to celebrate my daughters wedding. We arrived early & it took about 20 minutes to have our table set up and ready for our party. We were served water and asked if we wanted chips & salsa and guacamole and we said yes to all! The chips and dips arrived promptly and the guacamole was VERY fresh and I loved the red onion in the guacamole. I seriously could not stop eating the guacomole! The chipotle salsa was my favorite and I drizzled over the guacomole and later on my entire. The chipotle salsa had a delightful smoky spicy taste! Loved loved! I ordered the Vampiro Shrimp Tacos and WOW! Be aware that these are LARGE tacos, and you receive 2. I was barely able to finish one. The shrimp were delicate and seasoned well and very plump and big! The spicy cabbage slaw complimented the tacos well! My husband ordered the jamon Serrano pollo rellano & I found this dish incredibly unique and delicious! I love the take on a a chile rellano done with chicken! Very tasty! The brussel sprouts on top were VERY delicious. My older son ordered a steak quesadilla with just cheese and steak and it was VERY tasty and the portion size could easily feed 2-3 people. My youngest son ordered the macaroni and cheese and fries and he enjoyed these items very much! I took a small bit of his pasta and loved the creamy cheese sauce. As far as all other the family members, my daughter loved her seafood enchiladas! My mother and aunt both ordered the short rib enchiladas. I personally did not try these dishes. Their feedback was that the enchiladas were delicious but felt that the enchiladas needed more short rib filling. All together the service and restaurant met every expectation and greatly appreciate the staff for accommodating our large party. Also, if you are a fan of a STRONG yet tasty Margarita I definitely recommend the Cadillac Margarita! read more

Is there any entree that is gluten free here? Does this restaurant use a shared fryer for things like flour taquitos that would cross contaminate gluten free corn tortilla chips? I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free.
