So far everything I've had there has been delicious. I stopped by with a friend and decided I had to order when I saw they did custom shakes! I had to get their peanut butter and chocolate shake to try it out and it didn't disappoint. I mostly tasted the peanut butter, which was fine by me. I noticed they had chicken tenders, but decided to come back for that. When I did, I ordered them with the onion rings and the boss & bacon srirancha sauce. I'm definitely a fan of the tenders with the boss sauce. The tenders were juicy and not dried out. The boss sauce has the right amount of kick and the onion rings were deliciously fried. In my short AND long versions of Burger Boss 2 days after it opened, it was pretty clear I had a bad experience. I went back twice, and guess what? It was still disappointing. Typically, I don't update reviews of businesses that I give a second chance to and have continuously bad experiences. However one of the owners, Amanda , in her comments on my review, chalked up my experience to Burger Boss being new; I wanted to share additional feedback because the problems I experienced after were the same old slowness time after time. The second time I went back, I ordered another cheeseburger. I waited about 15 minutes for it and the place was not crowded. Again, the burger was cold, but at least it had cheese on it this time. The third time I went back to Burger Boss, I just ordered a shake. How bad could a shake be? How long could it take with only 1 other order before me? The shake was mostly melted because I waited so long, and the other person had waited so long for their food that they left even though they had already paid. The same truck that delivers food to the crappy cafeteria at my former place of work is the same truck that delivers the food to this restaurant (Sysco). No surprise, this is why the food here is neither fresh nor tasty. I have been to Burger Boss twice, once when it first opened, and once in November. Both times made me regret going there. The biggest problems? Bad food and SLOW service (both times I went). The fries are just like anything you could by at Target in the frozen section and fry at home, except what you make at home would be much better. The seasoning on the fries tastes weird and there is just enough of a sprinkling on the fries to tolerate them, but still have dissatisfaction in every bite. Also, I have yet to have fries there weren't cold. I can somewhat understand problems when first opening (although, seriously, there are gazillions of burger joints that have opened more smoothly- perhaps do a little research and adequate training, maybe a soft open before opening your doors), but in November after you have been open for MONTHS. Yeah, no. The service was soooo, slow. This place doesn't have lines of people waiting to eat here, so things should move pretty quickly, right? WRONG. I was the ONLY person in line (for my trip in November), and it took at least 15 minutes to get an order of fries. 15 minutes AND they were cold! It was kind of weird that I had 3 chicken tenders instead of a whole patty/filet. The girl ordered the chicken tenders and loved the breading. She almost got me to order a tub of fries too! But the regular was more than enough and they were crispy and salty. Everything is made to order hence I imagine the long wait time (for the food to be ready and to cool off). The patty's are the flat, overcooked fast food burger style rather than the fresh, juicy hand shaped variety. The onion rings were crispy but flavorless. I opted for the sweet honey mustard sauce for the rings and it was meh. On the other hand the service is friendly; the girl at the counter was helpful and patient in explaing the sauces and didn't roll her eyes like other teens in the service industry do so often now. For the price, the burgers aren't too bad. If you don't like the spicy "boss sauce" you can always ask for it to be left off the burger. Milkshakes are great, and I like the option to get a smaller size, compared to other burger joints that sell only large sizes. We usually grab dinner here once a month when we're working late. I've never had an issue with the service until the other night when I was on hold for 20 mins (phone on counter so I could hear everything), and then the person hung up on me. Omg, this place made my night. We picked up a tub of fries, a Jr hog and boss hog. The tub of fries comes with two dipping sauces so we got the spicy bacon which was like sriracha, ranch, and bacon (sooooo good) and the boss sauce which is like a spicy fry sauce. The Jr hog and the boss hog are basically the same but the Jr has one patty and the boss hog has two. They both come with lettuce, American cheese, boss sauce, bacon, and ham. Greasy goodness! The boss hog is where it's at, definitely opt for two patties instead of one. Next time I'd also get an extra side of boss sauce to smother my burger with. The fries were good too, they are the crinkle kind. Could have used more salt but it was all good since we had the dipping sauces. We grabbed our burgers and went to Beer Junction and enjoyed them with a brew! Will definitely be back. Definitely a fan of the food. Nothing about the burger was "plain" like some others said. Great burgers at awesome prices. The crinkle cut fries were seasoned to perfection and did not even need any dipping sauces. And the chicken bites were alright, probably a 3 star for those. The only reason for a missing star from perfect is definitely the wait... I'm sure they will improve but since there are no tables or benches of any kind, the time definitely goes by slow while waiting with nothing to do. So much to say, don't even know where to begin. My boyfriend and I fell in love with this place this summer. It is within walking distance to us and the food is absolutely delicious. Did I mention I'm a big fan of their house made Boss Sauce? Give me that with onion rings, a strawberry milkshake and my couch... and yup, I am a happy woman. Now, let's go back to my "fell in love with this place this summer" statement. After visiting multiples times, I decided to give them an awesome review. I mean, in my opinion the food is 10x better than Zippy's. The price is amazing and the food is truly full of flavor yummy goodness. Like I said, we became regulars, told our friends about it and my boyfriend started "taking the dog our for a walk" more often, but we both know it was an excuse for him to go get some onion rings. We even signed up for their rewards program, because well.. regardless of how often you go, it's totally worth it and better than the punch card system at Zippy's. The way it works is, you can check in with your phone number while there and boom, you're done. No carrying punch cards around or leaving them at home and then not getting your visit on the card. Sadly, their customer service started going downhill. Some of the employees were rude, careless and it was affecting the food, wait time and not to mention upsetting returning and new customers. It felt as if there was no management whatsoever. It was sad because you never want to see that happen, especially to a new business in your neighborhood, but it did. I am very active on social media, so when we had a horrible experience during our last visit... let's just say I made sure to let everyone know about it. I tagged them on a post on Twitter, left a Google review and of course expressed my frustration on here, as many as other customer were doing. I couldn't help but to agree with them. Something had to be done by the owners, pronto! We had no plans on going back at all and when you are a new business you can afford to have unsatisfied customers because you dend up losing clients and getting poor reviews. Now, this is the part where I want to give a shout out to the owners. As I said earlier, I had no intention on going back, but they changed my mind. They are taking the comments very seriously. How serious? Well, they are going out of their way to reach out to those unsatisfied customers and doing anything in their power to fix things. They've hired new staff and are in the process of whipping everything into shape. It seems as if they are working hard to provide proper training and expect to see improvement immediately. To me, that's amazing. Not many owners go out of their way or even care about what us Yelpers have to say. It's not easy to track everyone down, but they are doing their best. And for that, they have my respect and once again, my business. If you had a bad experience, I strongly recommend you give them another chance. Burger Boss is a great spot! If you read the poor reviews, you will see one thing in common... unsatisfied customers due to careless employees. Well, that's no longer an issue and the food still pretty darn good, in fact it never changed. It was the poor customer service that was making the experience a bad one. In fact, those employees are no longer working there. So there is nothing keeping you from those battered golden crisp to perfection onion rings. So yeah... this is probably one of my longest Yelp reviews. But this is the point of reviews. In the same way I wanted everyone to know about my bad experience, now I want everyone to know how happy I am to see owners care about their business and go out of their way to make changes. I've been here twice already one time getting the burger the second time getting a chicken sandwich both extremely satisfying and the price is not too bad at all either. The only downside is the wait for your food this place is very busy. I came one time at 6 PM and the other time at 7 PM both times I had to wait around 25 to 35 minutes for my food not terrible but it was worth the wait. It's a small walk-up joint, with no inside seating. It advertises fresh baked buns and never-frozen burgers. Not wanting to stuff myself I just got a classic with one patty, American cheese, pickles, mustard and ketchup and some bacon for $.99 extra. Unfortunately it's a thin little patty, and kind of reminds you of a cheeseburger from the Golden Arches, but better. Fries were piping hot and crinkle cut, just how I like. They were seasoned well and I'd recommend you eat all the good ones first then work on the burger. The girl behind the counter was friendly and my order was under $6.
