This spot is part of a larger marketplace with a food court style of service. With that being said, there is a lot of traffic and many of their dishes are prepared ahead of time. We had the lobster Mac and cheese, which was ok. It had large chunks of lobster, but the cheese in the Mac in cheese was not the best. It was a little dry and didn't have a lot of depth. We also had the main lobster roll special that came with a cup of clam chowder and a drink. The lobster roll was good, but needed more butter. The chowder was a little on the thin side. We had to visit the famous Quincy market, this was the very first place we visited as soon as we arrived in Boston because our train was delayed and we were getting hangry. It was obviously very touristy, a bit reminded me of fisherman's wharf in San Francisco but as a tourist I kinda liked it. It was a little confusing on how to get into this place but overall we found it! Came here during the night as a dinner and are a lobster roll and their infamous clam chowder. Crazy busy! The line for it went down the ramp leading into the building. I wasn't even sure I was in the right place. I will say for as busy as it was, they were very accommodating and friendly. What can I say, this was the best, albeit the only lobster roll I had in my life up to this point. (The next day I had one at Fenway park that was trash compared to this one). The roll was toasted nicely and the lobster was delicious. We ordered the manager special and it came out right away. Found a nice spot to eat outside and enjoyed. The lobsters are slightly more expensive than the other restaurants. The MP was a lobster roll was around $37-$38. I had the hot buttered Maine lobster roll, the seasoning was good and the meat was very fresh and tender. Their New England clam chowder with bread bowl was very flavorful. I had been telling my bf about this place for years and I made sure on this trip we stopped by for a cup of soup. I love the Plymouth Corn Chowder here and was looking forward to a bread bowl full of it, but during covid, they have slimmed down their menu. Once it's back on the menu, I definitely recommend it. We were staying around the corner so I ended up back here the day we left. While I'd had lobster, I didn't have a lobster roll on this trip and needed to remedy that asap. Luckily, you can get lobster rolls here at 11am! We got one of each and headed out to the tables outside (all the tables etc from the rotunda have been removed for covid). We got a Maine style and a Connecticut style. I normally go for the ME with mayo served cold, but on this chilly day, the warm butter and hot lobster meat may have made me switch sides. I got an entire lobster dinner at a nice restaurant nearby for a couple more dollars than the rolls here. Solid, but I think one and done for me, I'm not running back here for another. The chowder was also delicious. I kinda wish I hadn't gotten the bread bowl. In theory it's a good idea, but it was so cold out. that the bowl and soup around it was cold by the time I got towards the end of it. A warm cup would have probably been better for my situation. The prices are a little steep. It's to be expected. It's in a touristy area, but the quality of the food was solid. It was our first time visiting Boston so we had to try the infamous lobster roll at the food market. We ordered a combo menu with a COLD lobster roll, a small clam chowda and a drink, a lobster Mac n cheese and a Hot buttered lobster roll. The taste of the food was nothing out of ordinary. The portion was very small and price was same as any other sit down restaurant but with much bigger portion. They mixed up our order for giving us 2 hot lobster rolls but we didn't bother switching because of their terrible attitude. The worst part of the dining experience was the attitude of the cashier. She was so rude to a point that she did not even bother looking at us when we ordered. She almost didn't want to answer our questions about the menu! Normally we leave at least 10% tip even for take out. But in this case we didn't bother because we did not feel we were being treated like a customer, nor even as equal individuals. Pls don't come to this place if you value equality. It's a disgrace how Boston, a city with such rich colonial history, can tolerate businesses like this one to treat tourists in such unwelcoming manner.
