I came here on Friday night in search of my lobster roll and clam chowder combo but they were closed, so I think their hours during COVID vary from what's listed on Yelp. However, I came back the next day and were glad to see that they were open for business. I ordered the manager's special which comes with a small clam chowder, lobster roll and a small fountain drink. The clam chowder was creamy and delicious, perfect for warming you up on a cold day. I opted to get a hot lobster roll (you can also choose to get it cold) which was equally delicious. They were very generous with the lobster meat and it was settled on top of a soft buttered bun. Soft warm buttery split top roll topped with creamy seafood /lobster. The perfect amount of mayo and lots of seafood. My goodness it was delicious! They also have a New England clam chowda served in a bread bowl that looked fantastic! Im getting that next time (plus the seafood/lobster roll). They also had some fresh lemonade. It was so good! I typically do NOT like lobster. I always feel like the taste is too "rich" or there is just something about lobster that I do not like. However, on a recent trip to Boston, I decided to retry lobster. Their hot lobster roll was so good. As a New England clam chowder lover, I had to go to this place and try it out at Quincy Market! Unfortunately, I had set my expectations too high and didn't take these raving reviews as a grain of salt. The regular clam chowder has nice thick consistency, but it was very basic and lacked depth. I wish it could have some more seafood or spices to bring it up a notch. I also had the Maine lobster chowder, which was an even bigger disappointment. The lobster was overly seasoned with Cajun and basically ruined the chowder. Hopefully, there are some other places that can serve great New England clam chowder. read more

At first I was a little disappointed because the roll wasn't as packed with lobster as I would have liked, but it was quite good. The lobster chunks were fresh and the bread was lightly toasted so it doesn't fall apart from the butter coating. The clam chowder wasn't thick, but was creamy and it had a good balance of clams and potatoes. I usually don't get a bread bowl, but getting to munch on the bread soaked in chowder was a nice addition to the meal. I visited Quincy Market for the first time after seeing many TikTok's. The first spot I went to was Boston Chowda because I have been craving lobster mac and cheese for over a year now. They were the first spot I spotted with Mac and Cheese and remembered the hype on TikTok. So there I was excited as heck about to try this crazy lobster mac and cheese that's about to change my life. The ambience is alright, there was alot of traffic and they were selling well. Which was another reason why I joined the line. They had mac and cheese pies in their display and I honestly thought they were fake just to show what they're supposed to look like. However, I paid $18 for them to grab one of those. Orange coloring looking pasta with something that looked like cheese and three pieces of lobster :/ I ate the lobster pieces and two pieces of the cavatappi and tossed the rest. I was disappointed. Locals probably think it's so basic, but we don't have anything like this one in Sonoma. I'm definitely a fan of the marketplace in Faneuil Hall. Hands down best clam chowder I've tried. The soup tasted incredibly savory and fresh (because it's seafood, freshness is key). Came with a packet of oyster crackers. They were giving out free samples of the clam chowder so if you're on the fence about getting it, see if you can't try it first. I know it won't disappoint ;). For me, the small at $5.99 was just the right size for a mid-day snack and it's also pretty affordable. If only I had more room in my stomach, I would have definitely gotten it in a bread bowl, yum! They also have lobster rolls and various types of seafood pies, although the lobster roll is a little outside of my price range. The line for this was craaaazy. Fortunately, the staff were professional and knew how to wrap us around in an organized fashion. The queue moved fast, especially if you order their clam chowder which they just scoop into a cup and you're off on your very way.
