My son and I love clam chowder. We were thrilled to have lunch together at this wonderful establishment. The people that worked there were very nice and the soup was spectacular. They have other things on the menu you can choose from if your not in the mood for soup. They also have an area where you can pick out local jams or spice rubs. We can't wait to return!!! read more

I just stopped here for a quick bite but they had a good sized variety on the menu. This is my first time so I played it safe by getting a BLT with some mayo. Came out perfect and loved how clean it was as well. Staff were friendly, also is the free Wifi because who doesn't love that?! Practically inedible sandwhiches! They skimp on all the important components and respond rudely when you ask them to add more. The bread, which is meant to be toasted is soggy as well. Will never eat here again! Value is absurd. read more

I've eaten here many many times for lunch and usually get the same thing. Their clam chowder is very good and I usually pair it with a half prosciutto mozzarella sandwich on a French roll. Very solid lunch. Sometimes they also have a roast beef panini special which is awesome. The loyalty card which gets you your eleventh soup free is awesome as well. Not fine dining, it's order at the counter and get a number, but for the price, it one of the best lobster bisque and lobster rolls anywhere! When heading out to the Boston area, I usually look forward to visiting the location at Faneuil Hall, but didn't get the chance due to the Faneuil Hall food court restaurants closing early on the weekdays in winter. Was happy to find out this location and ordered the lobster roll and soup combo. Huge chunks of lobster and a creamy bisque. The roll was nice and fresh and toasty. I think it's even better than the Faneuil Hall location. Definitely a great find and worth pulling off the highway for lunch. read more

I ordered 2 clam chowders, a lobster roll and a Newbury sandwich. I know they are charging Covid prices but $10 for a mediocre, small sandwhich that had guacamole and bacon in it; which is always amazing when you combine them; was disappointing. The chowder was so so and a bit on the small side. She said the lobster roll was pretty good but still cost $22 with the second chowder. I won't be going back here. They charge Boston prices for a Boston company but can't deliver on the taste. read more

Obviously the clam Chowda is awesome, every time I stop by it's just as delicious as the last time. On top of the soups being amazing though, the wraps, sandwiches and melts are all great! Lots of good stuff and they are always friendly. Hint- Stick with the chowda and stay away from the Chicken Soup. The soup and veggies are fine but the chicken is boiled to death and dry and chewy. When you have the flu and that's all you're eating it's very disappointing. Got 3 large containers and dumped the chicken and replaced it with some rotisserie chicken. read more

I have been to Boston Chowda many times. The soup is really very good. Their cornbread, which I generally get if I get chili, leaves something to be desired. It's a bit flavorless. Their grilled cheeses are pretty good - very cheesy! My two main gripes are such: 1. They used to have a fridge where you could grab a drink and go. Today I went in to just get a Coke to go with the soup my husband had gotten earlier. The refrigerator is gone. So, now you have to order your drink and then wait in line behind all the people getting their lunches. This can be kind of crazy during lunch because there are a number of businesses in the area. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the person working the register just grab drinks for people? Then they'd also have something to occupy them until their food is ready. 2. There's sometimes this older woman who works the cash register who is just straight up mean. I came in with my parents who are in their 70s. They'd never been to the restaurant before, so it took my father a while to put in his order because he wasn't really sure how the place operated. Instead of understanding, "Oh hey, this guy is 75, let's be patient," she was exactly the opposite. And then there's a discount for people over 65 or something, which we didn't see until after we'd ordered. You would THINK she would just give him the discount, but she didn't. So, that was rude. Overall, though, the soup is quality and if you have more than a half hour for lunch or are looking for something to bring home for dinner, it's a good place to go. read more

Bought some Corn Chowda for lunch with a half chicken pesto sandwich. The chowda tasted creamy, it was very good. The sandwich was too wet with the pesto and the bottom slice of bread was soggy by the time I got home, it did taste good despite that. Probably would have been better if I had dined in. I got a Groupon for the pre-made food they sell and loved loved loved the Mac and cheese. It was fabulous and the American chop suey was delicious. We enjoyed the chili though be careful, it is spicy. The soups are excellent but the rack of dry rub ribs was awful. I think it's because we are used to "wet" ribs but we threw the whole package out after a few bites. That will not deter me from coming back. Esp for Mac and cheese, pasta and soups. read more

Love the "Chowda" here. It is actually used at a lot of local restaurants. They serve cold soup to heat at home, or fresh soup served to eat immediately. During the peak lunch hours it is extremely busy, so expect a line. read more

The wife and I went here tonight to use an Entertainment coupon. I had the lobster bisque and the wife had a clam chowder. We split a lobster roll and corn bread. The chowder and bisque were nothing to rave about flavor wise, the lobster salad in the roll was on the slightly warm side (no the roll was not toasted) and was just lobster with a lot of mayo and no tasteable seasoning. The corn bread was more of a cake than corn bread. They also didn't have lemonade or diet sprite both of which are on the menu. I'm glad we had a coupon and we won't be going back. Next time we want clam chowder we're heading to the Deli King in Tewksbury on a Friday, they got awesome Clam Chowder. read more

i have been eating here for years.. used to go there for lunch when i worked in the area.. it is really busy at lunch time.. so seating is hard to find.. but it is a small building so they did what they could with the space provided. the sandwich meats and veggies are always fresh.. and were very crisp.. not soggy. the soups and chowders are very good.. i usually get the corn chowder or lobster bisque... i dont work around there anymore.. so my husband and i now have to find reasons to go into that area.. to stop by. went there today.. had the half sandwich and chowder.. and was not disappointed.. place was clean.. and the two guys working there looked professional.. and were very helpful and polite.. great place to eat. will find more reasons to go to that area.. to stop in for some lunch. read more

I have to say I'm really impressed. I have tried their chowder and bisque in the past and was happy with both. I most recently had their chicken soup loaded with chicken, carrots that weren't cooked to death, celery and onion. This is the best "bought" soup option for sure! read more

The owner that ran the north andover one move to haverhill location and since than north andover location has gone down the drain for quality. They have added more forzen food and fresh pasta to buy but quality of the sandwiches and soups have gone down. It is sad I used to go here everyday. read more

My office gets lunch from here all the time, but I have never ordered anything. Today i drove by and decided to stop in. The line at the register moves very quickly as it does look intimidating when you walk in. The staff is very accommodating and knowledgeable. I asked the gentleman behind the counter a few questions about items in the case out front. There is a good variety, soups, ravioli, salads, and today chicken wings. I will be coming back to get some cold items. I asked the gentleman how often things change in the case, he told me just about every week and that eventually with a bigger case there will be even more items fresh daily. read more

I went into this location at the beginning of the week to get my usual lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see them sampling...of all things lobster raviolis...OMG they were awesome. I was very glad they did this the man behind the counter I believe to be the manager had told me that they will be selling it in the case cold and all i have to do is heat it up. I cant wait for him to do that so i can com in and buy it. He was a new face for me to see as i come in just about every day. He was very knowledgeable about every question I had. the staff is very friendly there and accommodate my needs every time i come in. Its a breath of fresh air to come in and see some new faces that are making little changes with the food. Dont think it goes unnoticed the customers will always see them and will appreciate them.
