Come here for fresh lobster rolls. The lobster is the star of the show (as it should be). The lobster meat is thick and juicy and 100% fresh! Pick the fries over the chips. They're nice and crispy but can be overly salty. Great seafood spot right on the beach. read more

My sister wanted me to mention how fresh the peel and eat shrimp was. Ok, I mentioned it but I still say my Red, White and Blue Salad was mediocre at best. Helllloo! Great view of the beach & A1A right from your table! Food tasted above average. Prices totally inline for oceanfront view casual restaurant. The crab cake appetizer was unbelievably good. I am not a fan of crab cakes at all because they are always made with a bunch of breadcrumbs and fillers to form the patty. But these little gems were amazing! My friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which was so overloaded it had to be eaten with a fork and knife. He said it was good. I got a mahi-mahi wrap. Pretty basic can't mess that up. Mahi was grilled correctly. We were stuffed! We each had to-go boxes, but couldn't resist ordering the true as can be Boston Cream Pie. It was yummy! Reason I took off 1 star? My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to watch a college basketball game on a Saturday afternoon and found a couple seats at the bar right in front of two TV's tuned to the game. It was all downhill from there. The bartender ignored us for at least ten minutes despite the bar not being very busy. When she did finally acknowledge us, she seemed distracted and hardly made eye contact when taking our order. For the next two hours, we were never asked if we wanted another drink or more food. We had to get her attention every time we needed something. It got so bad that we asked the guy stocking the bar if we could get another drink since the bartender had disappeared! When the shift changed, we were optimistic the new bartender might be different. Unfortunately, nothing changed. Must be company policy to avoid eye contact with customers and make them feel invisible. When the game was over, it took at least 15 minutes to get our bill and then we realized we had been charged for a side we didn't order. She adjusted my bill and took my credit card. When she finally came back with my card, she suddenly became very friendly and wished us a great evening. Whatever. Bottom line - great location, fun environment, decent food, but horrible service. read more

Boston's on the beach has a very similar name to Benny's on the Beach in Lake Worth. It definitely caught my eye and since Benny's is one of my favorite restaurants, why not. We were in Delray for the art festival and made our way down to the beach area. It was obviously very crowded but since we were only two of us and we took the inside table we didn't have to wait. Our waitress was very polite and helpful and she checked on us regularly. When I checked into this restaurant on yelp they do offer you a free drink with appetizer item. Score! I ordered the creamy lobster bisque for my appetizer. My entrée was the blacken Mahi tacos and my boyfriend ordered the blackin Mahi sandwich. I had a side of fruit and he upgraded to sweet potato fries. The food was very mediocre but still good. We've definitely had better and honestly I wouldn't have a craving to come back here. This place does seem like a fun place to check out if you like sports and have a group of people or someplace to eat before checking out the beach. It's painful to write this review, as I have always enjoyed Boston's on the Beach. This weekend, however, I brought my sister and brother-in-law for lunch. He is a trained chef and they have owned restaurants and are still in the high-end food industry today. Our server was a young girl named Sydney. In addition to being extremely slow to clear dishes, refill waters, etc. she was one of the rudest servers we'd ever ever experienced. My brother-in-law order a simple burger with no bun and a side Caesar salad with no croutons. The burger came with a bun and the salad was loaded with croutons. She asked if it was okay and I reminded her of his order request. Her first reply was to say "well, are you allergic to it?" And then she said it wasn't her fault and blames the kitchen. A simple "oh, I'm sorry" would have sufficed. Unless Kenny Chesney is there, we won't be back. read more

My boyfriend is from Boston and had always wanted to come here, but somehow has lived here two years and never made it, so for the Patriots game a few Sundays we finally made the trip. I was a little worried arriving during the first quarter of the game, I figured it would be hard to get a table, but we were seated right away. On the first floor they have two bars, which were both pretty packed. We were seated near the back bar, where there is a large projector screen that plays whatever Boston game is going on, and hanging by the bar are plenty of other TV's of decent size playing the other games of the day. My boyfriend wanted a margarita and they had one with a corona in it. I didn't order that because I was afraid it would be a gross frozen margarita mix, but I tried his and it was actually pretty good. I just ordered a bucket of bud light lime, a game special at $12 for 5, for us to share when he finished his drink. Our waitress initially seemed a little rough around the edges and was short with us, but as the meal went on she got much sweeter and it became obvious she must have been flustered by something initially, they were quite busy. For food we ordered a few appetizers including the steamers, wings, and peel and eat shrimp. I didn't try the steamers, but if you are from New England you will probably be disappointed by the portion size here. The peel and eat shrimp I enjoyed, they had some seasoning to them, and the wings were good and had a nice crisp to them, though they were small. We ordered them mild, but they weren't all that spicy so I think I could probably handle medium. Aside from coming here to watch a game, they have a lovely patio area that is puppy friendly and has a pretty good ocean view. As a place to come watch a game as a Boston fan, I can definitely see the appeal, as a regular meal place it is probably hit or miss depending on what you order, and the prices do seem a little crazy aside from the game time beer specials, but like most things in the area you are paying for the location as well. read more

First time back in what seems like forever. It's actually been so long (over a decade) that I couldn't even remember if it was the food or the service that kept me away; so this visit was like a "first time" all over again. ATMOSPHERE It's hard to beat a beach front location (well, across the street from it anyway). They have tables along the sidewalk and on a covered front patio. The inside has a couple bars and a stage area for live entertainment. There's a foosball table and various sports memorabilia on the walls. The downstairs gives off a neighborhood sports bar vibe (known as the "Beach"), while the upstairs is more of an upscale restaurant known as 50 Ocean (under a separate Yelp listing). OUR UNBELIEVABLE WAITRESS Took a patio table and a waitress immediately took our drink order. Another waitress asked to take our drink order. We told her we already did, but she insists thats impossible because it's her table (of course she pitched an attitude as if we did something wrong). Boobs. A minute later one waitress is bringing our drinks and the obnoxious waitress begins questioning and reprimanding her in front of us (could you be any less professional). We got stuck with grumpy (luckily she ended her tirade). DOGS Not only are dogs welcome on the patio and sidewalk tables but they even have a dog menu (all priced in "bones" instead of dollars). APPETIZERS Enjoyed a "crackling calamari" with ginger sauce; different than what I am used to but in a good way. Also shared a "seared ahi" but it was lackluster. ENTREES My dad had a "gorgonzola steak salad" which he did not want to finish because it lacked flavor (the "roasted shallot dressing" was extremely bland). I had a full rack of ribs (tender meat and awesome bourbon molasses sauce). The sides were not nearly as good (french fries were okay, the slaw was different to put it nicely and the corn was severely overcooked and mushy). BOTTOMLINE Overall I like the place but some seasoning tips for the chef and some etiquette tips for our waitress would greatly improve Boston's on the Beach. read more

'Ello chaps! Back to re-review Boston's On The Beach, which is normally one of my favorite spots around. They are dog friend, have good food and a nice view. But, had to knock down their star rating because of the extremely rude service recently. Tried to check them out for breakfast but showed up at 11 a.m. and told by the hostess that she wouldn't seat us. This left my group quite confused. The hostess without explaining they were no longer seating for breakfast only told my group that we must leave and go to a restaurant upstairs and or to the left. I was dumbfounded. After about 5 minutes of questioning I think I figured out she was trying to explain that they stop breakfast service and for a full hour they don't seat people at all as they prepare for lunch? This is what I'm assuming. I'm a very patient and understanding person, I just don't understand why this hostess was so rude and unhelpful. I have been living here for almost 4 years and a friend of mine from out of state referred me to Boston's during my first few months of living here. It is a great spot to enjoy lunch on a sunny day by the beach as you almost can see the beach from there unless you are on the top floor which is now renamed as 50cean (50 Ocean) which is fine dining but owned by the same owner of Boston's and Sandbar. You have the option of eating outside where it is breezy (on most days) and indoors if it gets too windy or rainy (but they do have roll-able tarp windows for those kind of days to accommodate diners to enjoy their meals without having their hair blown around their faces while they try to eat. Boston's and 50cean has both gone under major renovations in 2011-2012 and opened April 2012. It is more spacious as the bar inside has been moved from the walls to a center bar and another on the right side. The live music stage has been moved from the near entrance to the back where there was originally an upper level dining area. The whole atmosphere is more sporty with murals of home teams of Boston, Massachusetts. There are more televisions and they almost cover every width of the walls, always on a sports channel- a great spot to catch a game of basketball, football, baseball or hockey- depending on the season and importance of games. Beer is the typical selection, I am not sure if they still carry Labatt Blue, as the last time before renovations- I remember they carried it. Food is almost the same as before renovations, but they definitely have downsized the menu. Probably to lessen the variety of food on their grocery list as they just did renovations and built a new bar next door, the Sandbar, which is an outdoor tiki bar. That's understandable. I did have mixed feelings about the renovations, but now after visiting more than 5 times since the renovation- I am liking it more and more as there are more room seating options. They have introduced a dog-friendly option at the outer dining area which is on the sidewalk. A dog menu is provided. However, the first time I went after the renovation, I did see a dog growl at some children who were waiting in line to be seated nearby. The thought of dogs potentially attacking passerbys is kinda scary... so if you have small children, warn them beforehand not to attempt to pet any dogs that may be there despite how cute they may look. Anyway, I brought my mother and her boyfriend there yesterday during their visit here from out of state and they seemed to really enjoy Boston's for the atmosphere and the convenience of the fact it is right next to the beach and the cozy window shopping down Atlantic Avenue. By the way.... their clam chowder is amazing. I'll have to admit, it can be a tourist trap for those who visit the beach and get hungry after a day's fill of sun and sand..... but it is still a wonderful place to soak a bit of local color day or night. Plus, they do have valet parking (about $5 WITH a receipt from one of Boston's restaurants, otherwise it is $10) between Boston's and Caffe Luna Rosa. You also can park on the street of A1A (if you're lucky and carrying quarters for the meters) or park in the nearby parking meter lots (which is paid with credit cards) south of Boston's. *Smokers are only allowed to smoke outdoors- a huge plus as I hate inhaling second hand smoke indoors. read more

Pretty fun late Monday Night get together to celebrate a friends birthday. We had a decent size group so we spent time gathering chairs for our area and awaiting all the arrivals. We only have one server for our big group and she wasn't the most attentive though extremely pleasant. As I waited on her the leaking AC water dripped on me. Of course I moved to only notice additional drops on the table? Was beyond starving after a long wait in south Florida traffic. Not sure I should rate the food for that reason alone. Nothing was great - okay at best. But the clam chowder was good on the first spoon full but there was a strange after taste. (I wonder if any of that leaky water found it;s way into the soup?) Picked off others plates and nothing was that great. And strangely everyone told me that they normally avoid the soups? Pretty nice band that played. And the drinking members of the group seemed to have fun. So I'd try this place out for happy hour and music, but no rush for the food. read more

I just left Boston's on the beach and that place is an abomination and is truly such a poor replication of any of the pride and legacy that Boston, MA stands for. The next time I want to pay $40.66 for four Dixie cups sized drinks with one measured shot I expect them served to me on a golden platter by a hot male sand still get $20 back in change. Weak drinks. Rude as hell bartender. And only one other couple at the car on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm. Such a shame. So so so disappointed as this was my first impression of Del Ray Beach. Bostons's you had me at Puppy Patio! That handsome chap in the photos (number 17 to be exact) is my son/puppy Burton Guster. He loves it here too! We were out for a walk on the ave and decided to check out the Puppy Patio. They have faux grass for the pups and all of the waitresses will welcome your pooch and give him/her a chance to check out the puppy menu. Guster had a Milk Bone and Water and I had the Grouper. I have no clue how his meal was but the grouper was delicious. The bok choy was cooked perfectly. Our next visit I had the lobster Po Boy which was tasty as well. Nothing beats bostons because it's the best restaurant facing the beach in Delray. Solid food, great service and tasty whisky and Mojitos! read more

I'm always a bit skeptic of dining anywhere that seems to be in a touristy area. I assume the food is mediocre, the service is poor and the establishment itself is going to be kind of a mess. I came to Boston's with a negative mindset, but was gladly mistaken. First off, it's right off the water. How can you not love that? It's absolutely ideal for people watching. I'm a soups guy. I absolutely loved the New England clam chowder. It's a must. For my meal I had the Big Boston burger cooked medium well and it came out just how I wanted it. It came with cheese and fortunately, you can add bacon. I would use the "thumbs up" emoticon if I could. I'm not a liquor drinker when I eat. I hate mixing, but I love they give you large cups of soda/tea when you order. Nothing grinds my gears more than getting an 8 ounce cup of drink when you're paying $3.00 for it. The service was great! The wait staff was constantly buzzing around; picking up plate, refilling drinks and being great. As I write this I'm thinking, "I can't wait to go back here and eat". You'll definitely pay for the proximity of Boston's to the beach (re: it's across the street), but this is a great spot if all you want to do is eat American food and drink beer in your bathing suits. We stopped by after a day in the sun, and although it didn't blow me away, it was just what we needed to refuel. We started with the nachos with chili, which were perfectly adequate and smothered in gooey cheese, tomatoes, olives, and jalapeños. I had the blackened mahi mahi tacos for my main, which I probably wouldn't order again; the tortillas seemed stale and the fish was dry, but it did come with a delicious spicy aoli. The french fries were also really good. My friends ordered burgers and seemed to enjoy them a great deal more, so maybe stick with the classics. Overall, Boston's is a little pricey, but the food is decent and located conveniently next to the beach. We had no work for the holiday so we had to make the best of it. First stop for the day was lunch at Boston's on the Beach- Upperdeck. The view is incredible. It is located right off of Atlantic beach. The weather was perfect. Not too hot and you could feel the breeze from the ocean. I decided to have a Miami vice to drink. "A" turned into 5 lol. It was so delicious and refreshing that I was hooked and had to have more. We ordered appetizers and a entree to share. We ordered: Crispy Calamari tossed with roasted garlic, Italian pepper rings, and zucchini chips. served with basil- marinara -$11- This was okay.. Not the best that I have tried but it was good. Something different. Maine Lobster Tacos Twin flour tortillas, lightly fried lobster, mango slaw, Meyer lemon creme.- $15- This was okay also. A bit hard. The food is okay. I think the view and the drinks were the ones that earned the 4 stars for this place. Plus the great company and service. Our waiter was always attentive. I love going to Bostons. Is it the classiest place in Delray? Nope, but it doesn't try to be. Is it the most exclusive, elusive and spot to be seen? Nope but you are not going here for that either. Bostons is a great "local" restaurant / bar where good food, good service and an all around great atmosphere abound. Don't come here unless you are prepared to have a good time. If you want "fast" food, look for a food truck. If you want over priced drinks and disgruntled staff, well there are plenty of places for that! Oh and they are truly fans of Boston. If you are a Yankee fan you can come in and enjoy yourself, but remember you are in Boston (of the south). It is a great location to jump up to from the beach and grab a few beers and a burger in the middle of a surf session or just enjoying the sunset (yes I know the sun sets in the west, but it is enjoyable over the ocean looking east as well.) 1st time eating here and it's nothing spectacular. Our waitress, Melody (sorry if that wasn't it or I spelled it wrong) was really nice! I ordered the beer battered fish and fries. Came with a mango slaw. The fish was huge but tasted like Gordon's. My friend ordered a chicken wrap of some sort and there was hair in it. They took it back without any issues. We also had the spinach dip and listen readers!! IT WAS SO GOOD! The best part of our meal. The fresh fruit salad was good also. read more

The waiter was the best thing about the dining experience. The waiter was very funny and kind. This was the noisiest place I've ever been to for dinner. You couldn't hear the person next to you sitting at the same table. We had two orders of linguine and clam's and two orders of Hong Kong yellowtail snapper. The fish was very dry with a little bit of teriyaki sauce but not enough to cover the fish nor the rice. This experience was $33. Then we have the linguine and clams. This dish is what I usually order in other restaurants so I know how it is supposed to taste. This was so salty you needed to drink gallons of water. After hearing that Boston's was THE place to be for Delray Beach nightlife, a group of colleagues and I decided to party there one evening. On that particular night, there was a Grateful Dead cover band performing much too loudly. The weird crowd was composed of all age ranges and many patrons were sporting festive tie-die. Sure, I could have gotten more into the spirit of things, but I was having problems hearing a colleague that was seated directly next to me AND who was screaming into my ear at the time. It was frustrating to say the least. The beverages were very strong, and the food options were your standard fried bar grub. This was definitely a no-frills dive with all of the charm of a touristy beach hangout. If you are looking for a place to throw back some beers and rock out, this might be for you. However, if you are trying to have a conversation with friends that you have not seen in months, this is a poor option. read more

You pay for the location the food is okay. I ordered crabcake sandwich and fries. My fries came out cold but my crabcake was marginal at best. What you are really paying for is the beach view. On a beautiful day its really spectacular as you can see from the photo i posted. I would stick to lunch because at night you cant see anything. dont go expecting great service or amazing food.
