Another stop on Bourbon Street, we decided to check out this bar and stayed for about 30 minutes. Just like many others in the area, the atmosphere is lively--loud music, people laughing, dancing, and clearly having a great time. The drinks were just okay, and keep in mind that they automatically add gratuity to your bill. The bar is quite dark, so if that's a concern, be prepared. Overall, it's a decent spot for soaking in the Bourbon Street energy, but nothing too special. read more

We escaped the noise of Bourbon Street into a back room area of this restaurant. Service was friendly and prompt. There were several large screen t.v.s to entertain customers (my husband marveled at the fact they were enclosed in weatherproofed bins). We started with an order of Bang Bang Shrimp. The shrimp tasted fresh and they had great flavor, with some bite at the end. We shared the hangover burger. Though the burger itself could have had a little more seasoning to the meat, it came out hot, with melted cheese, yummy bacon and very fresh tasting tomato and lettuce. I had a cocktail made of Jameson's orange, OJ and I forgot what else. I really liked that drink...very refreshing and made with one of my favorite liquors. My 5 star review of this place was based off of going downstairs during the day. I made the mistake of going upstairs at night on a weekend. Apparently this type of place does something for a lot of people, but I got some of the worst vibes I've ever gotten from a bar. The place was like an apocalypse. There were so so many people flooding the courtyard and the upstairs level and barely any staff to be seen which just made me nervous. The courtyard was completely unstaffed and thus a power vacuum was created in which random men set up chairs every where and talked to women however they wanted to. Not sure why the bar down there was closed. I wouldn't have known where to go to get to a bar if my friends didn't know because I didn't see any signs directing me upstairs or to where the bathrooms were. I felt like I was just in some random alley. When I got upstairs it was too loud and packed to be able to order a drink and I couldn't walk around without being completely surrounded by my friends for safety. The floor was actually moving up and down when you walked with how many people were jumping on it. Ladies couldn't walk a foot away from the group without being grabbed up or having clothing items stolen by strangers. This is the kind of thing that goes on here in full view of the bartenders so apparently it's what some people want. Personally, I was too afraid to even stand in line for the bar. After I left I was followed many blocks by some of the horrible patrons of this place. read more

Look no further! Dinner time Mike waived us in and sold it. We could not be more grateful. He's a funny and authentic guy. We come to NOLA a lot and this has been by far the best service we have received ever while visiting here. Jake is extraordinary. He's courteous, down to earth, efficient and just an overall cool kat (said us both lol) The courtyard is well maintained, and such a nice way to spend the day in the sunshine. The live music is top notch and happy hour specials are delightful. We like it here and we will return. Thank you for listening to my Ted talk. Stepped in here after leaving a bar right before this establishment due to a rude bartender and wanting us to pay double to drink there or half price to leave his empty smelly bar. I'm so glad we did, We sat in the bar. I believe Jake was the bartender and he was awesome. Our bloody Mary's were delicious and he even made me something off the menu. We stopped in here on a random walk, as they had misters out front, and it looked to be nice and cool inside. We were the first patrons in the bar for the day, which meant we had the bar tender all to ourselves. This is a great bar to stop at on your stroll around Bourbon Street. They had delicious drinks, and what looked to be a decent food menu. The bar tender was super friendly and we had live music to soothe the ears. Let's be honest, we liked this place so much, we stopped again in the afternooon on our back home and still got to see the awesome musician. The food, service and ambiance was great! We went twice while we were in town. They have a great Happy Hour 7 days a week. BOGO bottled beers, 24oz draft beer for the price of a 10oz and a double well shot cocktail for the price of a single. Devon was our waiter the first time we stopped in and he was very attentive. Provided great service and even charged my phone behind the bar for me. We stopped in for the second time on our last day in NOLA and Kaet was our bartender and she exceptional! So i sat, maybe 10-15 later a lady came who did not want to be there, but she asked if we need menus finally, then stood there for a minute finally asking if we need more time like we were taking too long. I almost left then, but i was just so hungry we ordered, 5-10 later a whole group of 7 people came in, sat down, she came right out, got there order, and within 10 minutes, she brought out there food, she then brought one of our plates out. 10 more minutes when i was half done, my wifes plate came. It was a shrimp po boy so iono why it took so much longer. The food was ok, i wouldnt go back for flavor. But we were done, and sitting waiting for a refil and the bill, whcih my wife asked for several times. I hear the lady from the other table call to the waitress and ask for the bill, she brings us back a box to go, and brings them the bill, but not our bill. They pay and leave before we got the bill. We were rushing because we had to start a tour soon, and i didnt even state my disapproval at the level of service. Im assuming she knew the big group of drunk people would be more tip so she served them better, i dont know, but it was awful. And it was rather expensive for what it was, for me and my wife no appetizer, and 1 alcoholic beverage was 80, with a forced 20% tip. Avoid this place. read more

The food and the service were grand. However, the ambiance of the restaurant is marred by the dance club music at 5 PM. Turn that on at 10! No one who goes out to dance goes out before 10 PM. I'm going to keep my review of Bourbon Heat - short and sweet. We've been here a handful of times over the past couple of years and we've always enjoyed ourselves, but I should note: we've never tried the food. Every time the live music has drawn us in ... the music is always so good! Our most recent visit was during a heatwave. The temperature outside felt like 106, but Bourbon Heat was cool and comfortable! When you first walk in there is an attractive and welcoming bar. Towards the back there is a very nice courtyard. Service is good, and prices are reasonable. I can't wait for my next visit! read more

This place is really nice. It was just what I needed. There was a live band playing great music. My party ordered drinks. There was a buy-one-get-one special. I also ordered fried pickles.
