Iced Caffe Latte with whole milk & Turkish Coffee
    Adam C.

After dining at Propaganda, a friend and I decided on grabbing a coffee to kill some time and chat. It happened to be right next door, so it was convenient in that regard. When I first walked in, it was hard to ascertain where their menu is. It is on the left wall, and there are some specials listed on a pillar by the register. It took me a minute to register where this stuff was, but their menu is extremely simple at a glance. This spot does not carry syrups or sweeteners, which was unexpected. I genuinely enjoy different flavors that make coffee shops more unique to try, when I try a new shop, so I was slightly bummed on that. I got an iced cafe latte, and I did think it was still good. It was smooth, despite not being sweet. The baristas working here are nice, attentive, and it definitely seems like they care about quality coffee and their craft. The interior is spacious and more of an industrial look, which I don't mind. I don't think I'd be stopping by again, unless I was also dining or doing something else close by, but this was an enjoyable new try. I'd recommend it, if you're into some quality, non-sugary coffee.

If your tastebuds had socks the Boxx would knock them right off! An eye pleasing coffee loft that will take you on an adventure just like Lara Croft. Now let me tell you why this place rocks! Dine in service is in full effect and that right there gets my respect. I ordered the espresso shot set to start off with and it was a sure hit with the presentation as well as the kick I needed. Next I had their Cortado and it was also good but no surprise there. I ended this adventure with the Pour Over and it was the perfect exclamation point to my journey. The service was good and the ambiance is what you expect from a place like this if you know what I'm talking about. The baristas here are serious about the craft and you can taste as well seeing how they prepare each order. And that's my take on it, Peace out my peeps...

It's very nice inside. There's plenty of seating, a decent number of outlets, and the space feels comfortable to work or hang out in. The furniture does feel a bit worn in places, though. The menu is surprisingly small, and they don't offer flavor options for lattes. I usually prefer sweeter coffee drinks or even chai/matcha options, but those weren't available when I visited. The coffee itself was okay -- not bad, but probably not something I'd order again. Parking is also a struggle. Garage parking can go up to $24 max, and parking at One Santa Fe is around $18 max. Street parking exists, but it's notoriously limited in this area. That said, the service was genuinely great and very fast. Overall, it's a comfortable space with solid service, but between the parking situation, limited menu, and average coffee, I'd give it a 3/5.

Drove over an hour to explore and try this new coffee spot in LA. Boxx was really cool, this was a great and unique experience. I loved the interior , it felt like a brutalist design with the concrete and I appreciated how spacious and roomy it was, it can't be cheap to have a well sized coffee shop like Boxx's. The staff greeted me upon entering, they were super friendly but more importantly they were passionate! I ordered a coffee and I asked for an iced vanilla latte and they said they don't do flavors or sweetness as they prioritize and want their customers to taste the coffee as is, and I really loved that. I love the passion to their craft and how they wanted the taste of the coffee to be the star of the show. Sadly, we wanted their Peruvian beans but they were sold out, they only had their Ethiopian beans. We ordered 2 different types of croissants as they had a plethora of a variety of croissants I've never seen before. We had the ham and cheese which was delicious and simple, can't go wrong with this one. Then we ordered the croissant with the yogurt or cream cheese on it and this croissant was the star of the show. I was blown away at the freshness of the yogurt topping and flakiness of the croissant. I'm weird so I love having my croissant completely fall apart due to the flakiness and they did just that. My coffee was good but the Ethiopian coffee had a nuttiness that I wasn't too much of a fan of. My mom's pour over was great! The presentation of the coffee with a small sample of the grinded espresso felt like a next level coffee experience, that was super cool. Overall this was a great experience, and will definitely come back for their croissants and to try their other coffees, thank you so much Boxx Coffee roasters for this amazing and unforgettable experience, this felt special.

Solid latte. However I thought it was too expensive for what it is and lack of parking is the reason for - 1star. Service is nothing to point out, looks like a cozy place to hang out and chat.

    Indoor seating

Located on 3rd St in the heart of the Arts District in Los Angeles, this coffee shop provides lots of seating indoors and outside, for people to enjoy their beverages and to study/read/converse. It's mostly ambient lighting, so on a cloudy day like today, it's a bit dim if you want to read. Staff are friendly and quick. We ordered cafe lattes, a matcha latte and cinnamon rolls. They brought them to our table within 8 minutes, with the cinnamon rolls gently heated. Wow! They tasted like croissant cinnamon rolls with flaky butteriness, not overly sweet. The lattes were very smooth and satisfying. Eclectic music softly playing in the background, some jazz, some oldies.

Clean and spacious with chill vibes and plenty of seating space. Friendly costumer service and strong coffee. Parking available in back parking structure with validation, available with purchase on a first come basis.

Cute cafe that serves Turkish coffee! Very cute, chic, and quiet cafe in dtla. Walked in specifically for the Turkish coffee as it's something you can't find just anywhere. Flavor was just as I would have hoped, very strong and flavorful. Also tried one of their vegan chocolate muffin. Omg wasn't expecting it but it was very good. Nice place to sit and do work. Several small tables to sit for a bit to chat with a friend, maybe take a zoom call. Can see students sitting and studying with small groups (reminded me of my college years).

Caffe Latte Matcha Latte This coffee shop is the perfect place to catch up with friends, do work/study and explore Arts District. Plenty of seating inside/outside & parking structure available. We ordered caffe latte & matcha latter and enjoyed both drinks. We will definitely come back here! Thank you

Boxx is a beautiful coffee shop in the Arts district. The vibe is 10/10, so is the presentation. I wish I could give a higher rating to the Matcha latte I had. It was a 6/10 in my book. The presentation was beautiful and the matcha was creamy, but it also tasted bland and watered down. We visited Boxx on a Sunday morning. The place was not super busy or crowded which was perfect for a slow Sunday. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and think that it is a great place for hang.

First time here, weekday, parking was surprisingly easy, friendly helpful staff, great menu, coffee was full of flavor and fresh, tons of seating inside and out, very clean and inviting, great vibe, would highly recommend and return.

A Life without coffee is like a broken pencil - pointless. :D With that said let's begin this sweet review. BOXX COFFEE (est 2021) is an exquisite modern Turkish cafe shop in the art district of LA. They're located in Aliso luxury apartment building on E. 3rd street. We came on a rainy weekend to grab some coffee. I was mesmerized with the modernity and exquisite layout design of this cafe. Clearly, no money was spared here. That I can tell you. Moreover, the cafe's atmosphere has a positive energy and peaceful tranquility. Their coffee menu list was modest as well as their pastries. I had a Croissant and hot Turkey Coffee, a strong traditionally prepared enjoyed in small cups. It is served with a small cup of water to cleanse thy palate. Drinking this coffee is traditionally not meant to be rushed as culture dictates it. The best way to complement this coffee is with a warmed butter Croissant to assuage the robust flavor of the coffee. Staff were cordial and professional. Prices were relatively fair and affordable. Parking in the art district can be challenging, so it's best to come early in the morning. Overall, one can posit that this is a lovely modern cafe. I highly recommend it.

Although the parking situation has always been hard at the Boxx, their coffee is worth it. I stopped by the other day to get a bag of beans, and it turned out to be really good. Staffs are helpful and friendly. Will go back again if near the area.

The employees were friendly, welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. As for the coffee, it unfortunately wasn't my favorite. I tried the Cloud Latte and found it a bit too thick, lacking the smoothness and flavor I was hoping for. I also tried the Cinnamon Cloud, which was smoother but still tasted fairly bitter to me. So we decided to come here for coffee or tea and ended up having a really nice time. I used to come here quite often about four years ago. Back then, I really liked their Einspänner and ordered it several times. But the last time I came, I thought it was way too sweet, so I hadn't been back since. It had actually been a REALLY long time since I last visited. And when I used to come here four years ago, I always came in the morning or around lunchtime. Last night was my first time ever coming here at night. My friend told us that they are open until midnight, so that's why we decided to come here after dinner. I had heard that parking here can be a nightmare because there aren't enough parking spaces and people have a hard time finding a spot. But once again, my parking luck was AMAZING! A car pulled out right in front of me just as I arrived, so I was able to park very easily. Another friend arrived later than I did, and she said she couldn't find a parking spot at all. She drove around for quite a while looking for one before finally finding street parking. Last night, we also had some tiramisu, and since I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine, I decided to have a caffeine-free ade instead of coffee or tea. It was a little sweet for my taste, but it was ok. We sat outside on the outdoor patio and talked and talked and talked. We had such a fun time together! However, it was actually pretty cold outside last night. I remember thinking that it felt surprisingly chilly. But what was even crazier was how FREEZING cold it was inside the café! They had the air conditioning turned up so high that both my friends and I felt like we were going to freeze to death. The restroom is inside, and I also went inside to get some water, so I mentioned to one of the male employees that it was freezing inside. He told me that they didn't feel cold at all because they were working, and that THEY were actually feeling really hot. I went back to our table and told my friends what he had said, and they were like, "WHAT?! We're freezing to death over here!" The parking lot here is actually pretty large, so I was wondering why it was so difficult to find a parking spot. Apparently, at night, the left side is the café, while on the right side there is a bar where people can drink and also play games. There was a huge line of people waiting outside the bar last night, so I'm guessing that's probably why the parking lot gets so crowded and it's hard to find a spot. It was also pretty chilly outside last night because of the low temperature, so one thing I wished they had on the outdoor patio was heaters. That would have made sitting outside much more comfortable on a cold night.

There was no line, and I ordered and sat down at one of the tables out front. The service was so warm, and I believe the shop is owned and operated by one man on his own! He was an absolute delight to meet, and he brought my matcha latte to me at the table when it was prepared. He suggested I get the cream top on it, and boy was that the perfect recommendation. I would say I'm a little bit of a matcha fiend... I think I got a matcha latte at 3 different places this day... and this one far surpassed the others. I think it was one of the best matcha lattes I have ever drank to-date. It was perfectly green, the matcha quality was phenomenal, both taste and look-wise. The texture was just right, perfectly creamy with barely any grittiness. The cream top only added to the drink, and didn't take away from the matcha flavor at all, which I feel like has happened at other places for me. I'm dreaming of this matcha latte days later, and need to go back to Kokoro No Coffee as soon as I am in town again. This was a spectacular find, and I hope this spot gets all the love it deserves! There is truly nothing like a great business ran by a great person and you can tell there's so much intention put into this concept. Highly, highly recommend and I could not sing praises more!

It was pretty busy for late afternoon but I took it as a good sign. My sister has been a bunch of times before and really wanted me to try their cream top but I don't drink coffee and they apparently stopped allowing modifications to their drinks so you can no longer add the cream top to the matcha latte. She got the cream top coffee and I got the matcha latte so I could sip the top of hers and drink mine and it was honestly so so good. I have no idea how they make their cream top but it's unlike any other I've tried. The matcha itself was also very smooth and great quality. Both drinks came out to just $13.50 total, which is amazing. Would come again!

I get the Japandi minimalist design aesthetic but a lot of people would love to just sit down and drink their spendy beverage and there's just not enough seats for all the customers. I would suggest adding more benches along the North wall which is an entirely usable space as well as adding another counter along the window with barstools. For this, I have to give the ambiance 2 stars. I'd still come back for the exceptional matcha latte though!

It's a very cute and cozy coffee shop and there was no line when we arrived. The menu had a huge selection of different coffee and tea drinks and also a seasonal menu. The staff were very kind and patient and swiftly prepared the Vienna Latte and Hojicha Latte we ordered. The Vienna Latte is so visually stunning, the layers of white milk, brown espresso, thick white cream, brown cocoa powder and Biscoff layered on top of each other against the dark green logo was so aesthetic. Having a sip before mixing the Vienna latter was incredible, the sweet cream followed with the nutty strong espresso flavour then getting a refreshing splash of milk made a great combo with the Biscoff. I actually liked the drink less after its all mixed because it was too creamy for my taste. (I normally like my coffee black) My hojicha latte was great, but it was also too milky for me. So I went up and asked if it would taste good dirty, with an espresso shot in it, and the barista said yes. I ordered an espresso shot and instead of charging me full price, they only charged me the add on espresso shot for the drink! ($1.50 instead of $4) It was very kind of them since it was absolutely my mistake for not ordering the right drink in the first place. The shot added much depth and flavour to the hojicha latte I was craving. Thanks for the wonderful service. I'm definitely coming back to try their other specialty drinks.

I ordered the Orange Mint Latte, Matcha Sparkling Lemonade, Einspanner White, Hibiscus Mint Sparkling Lemonade, and of course, a cortado. I also tried their Wagyu Sliders. Every drink was fantastic. What I really enjoyed was how different each one was from the next. It didn't feel like I was ordering variations of the same drink -- each had its own flavor profile, presentation, and unique touch. The Orange Mint Latte was especially interesting, and both sparkling lemonades were refreshing and completely different from what I would normally order. The Einspanner White was another standout. Overall, it was a really fun variety to try at once. The cortado was also very good. It had a nice flavor, smooth texture, and was easy to drink. Their approach is a little different from a traditional cortado presentation because the espresso and milk are fully integrated together rather than finished with latte art. I actually appreciate that style when it's executed well because the focus is more on getting the espresso and milk completely incorporated into one cohesive drink. The presentation across the entire order was also really well done. You can tell there's thought behind how everything is served and put together, which adds to the overall experience. The Wagyu Sliders were great as well. I think the food side of Archives of Us deserves more attention because they have some genuinely good food options to go along with the drinks rather than the food feeling like an afterthought. The space itself is beautifully designed with plenty of seating inside as well as an outdoor seating area. I love the overall atmosphere and aesthetic -- there are certain details about the design, presentation, and experience that remind me of coffee shops I've visited in Japan. The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was extremely friendly, kind, and welcoming. Overall, Archives of Us has a lot going for it. A beautiful space, great service, thoughtful presentation, a strong variety of drinks, solid coffee, and food worth trying as well. It's especially nice to find a coffee shop where I actually want to explore the menu beyond my usual cortado. Definitely the type of place I could see myself coming back to once a week.

They do not serve cold brew but the Einspanner Black does the charm for me. Their matcha is also good as it is not too sweet nor too bitter. The fan favorite is the Wagyu slider. I personally like the egg salad one more since I am not a meat on meat person but the bacon wagyu slider is better. I would say this place is the better version of Community Goods and does not have as long of a wait. Note - kitchen food is not served until 9:30AM so if you're an early riser or trying to get in and out, you will be out of luck. Parking - the main parking Is the underground structure which could be found on North Broadway. Parking can be quite pricey if you're there longer than an hour.
