Difficult to find parking nearby but found plenty of parking a few blocks over. It's worth the search... Their Turkish coffee was perfectly strong and not sweet. Cafe latte was good too. The winner, however, was their olive oil pastry. It was lemony and moist. Service was super friendly. Highly recommend! read more

Love the gluten free options, which means I was not stuck getting banana bread which I like but not always in the paying mood for. This morning I went with the lemon poppy seed muffin, which was extremely moist, but could have been a little bit more tart for me - still good though. The kid got the ham, egg, and cheese biscuit thing with his Oatmilk Latte and was pleased. I love the fact that alternative milks are built into their price and the drinks are served without sweetener. You can add your own which gives you control. I don't like any so I am good. The space itself is beautiful and calming, perfect to study in if you already live near by. I visited twice and the parking Gods were kind to me because I was able to park without a ticket, but this is a hard place to go to unless you are already in the neighborhood. Also lots of smokers outside so for me that's a bummer but alas they are allowed their Turkish coffee (caffeine) with their vice. read more

What an amazing addition to the arts district! Straight from Turkey. Delicious complex flavors specially brewed like a fine wine. Definitely some of the best tasting coffee I've tried in a while! Their cold brew tasted strong in best way, and the barista was super helpful/kind in providing samples to try. Pastry was good but nothing to write home about. Definitely come here more-so for the coffee itself. The inside has some seating available, but not many outlets. More tables available outside. Parking is also a pain in this area, so keep that in mind when coming. read more

This place is super cute! I love the interior and outside seating- extremely comfy and open. I got the blue jasmine tea so I cannot do an honest coffee review because the tea was very much a basic jasmine tea, which was what I wanted at the time. Would recommend if you are in the area and want to grab coffee and hangout at a pretty comfy spot, it is on the same block with other great places like yunomi, wurstkuche, salt & straw, etc. read more

Came here to meet up with of my girlfriends for an early coffee date before work. Can I just say this place is super aesthetic! They have white brick walls, black/white/brown/wood decor, along with some copper decor and a matching copper coffee machine. Right away, you can tell the owners of Boxx Coffee had a vision and they did a great job of putting it together. When I arrived there were two gentlemen (not sure if they are the owners) and they were beautiful people and even complimented me on my energy! This type of interaction is so important and so telling for me and I can tell they have so much intention and want to create community. I think I also saw a community board? I could be wrong. As for goodies, did have GLUTEN-FREE options and I had a cookie! YAY! The cookie was so yummy! It was soft and chewy just how I like my cookies! I had a basic Iced Almond Iced Latte, I did think it was slightly bitter but it's not that noticeable - I am just a coffee addict ha! Stopped by this coffee shop in Arts District while I was in town to grab a cup of cappuccino, and was very pleasantly surprised by how good their beans were. The bright fruit notes from the beans came through really well without being too sour, which is very rare in a cappuccino. After trying it, I decided to buy a bag of espresso beans to bring back home and was surprised to learn that it came with a free drink so obviously I got another cup of coffee, a cortado this time. Cortado was also great. The ambiance of the cafe was really nice and made for a good place to sip my coffee while browsing the news. The only thing is that street parking was a bit challenging to find on a weekday morning. I did realize afterwards that they actually validate parking in the lot, so I'll make a note of that next time. I'm very excited to make my own cappuccinos with the espresso beans I bought when I get back home! read more

This is what I mean when I want to go to a cafe in LA!! The cappuccino here is so lovely I highly recommend! Baristas here are very nice and helpful especially for my first time here and wanting to know what to get! I also tried the espresso here but it wasn't too my liking I got their in season espresso but it was a bit too sour for my taste. Their lemon muffin was really tasty and I want to come here again and try their other drinks and foods! I love the overall ambiance of the cafe, very chill a lot of space to chill with friends, do work or even just relax! read more

Boxx is one of those lowkey coffeeshops that you would might when passing by. It offers freshly roasted coffee beans and wide range of coffee drinks, served by a team of very friendly and passionate staff. Boxx keeps the menu simple and probably caters to coffee aficionados, who enjoys simple black coffee and traditional milk drinks; the more unique items are the Oji drip (cold slow drip coffee) and Turkish coffee. Coffee beans for all brews are always on rotation so there is always a chance to try out different flavors. Batch brew is always very solid options as they have dialed in the brew to bring out the tasting notes of each coffee. For fancier days, there are always pour overs which have two to three beans as options. Oji drip is definitely one of my favorite choice during a hot day because it's refreshing and still retain the fruitiness of the lighter roast. For those who like cold brew, this is certainly an options for more complex flavors. This review can't be completed without a talking about the Boxx staff. Friendly and helpful and most importantly, passionate. Many times I have had staff describing the bean used in the cold brew and Oji drip, and why it's special and what they like about it. If you need help choosing a bag of beans to take home, they might give you a quick sample or overview of tasting notes. If you are looking for that cup of the day made with passion and quality, Boxx is certainly a place for you. read more

Gave this place two chances, first time went in the afternoon the pour over tasted very strange. Second time went in the morning, ordered a croissant and a flat white, coffee and food is decent, but service is terrible in the morning. Overall this place has nice outdoor seating and environment with decent coffee and food but terrible service. read more

Hidden gem. The only coffee spot in LA that does not add syrups.. all natural authentic coffee, all styles. I had a latte with oat milk.. so delicious. Cozy vibes, nice decor. There is a condiment station offering sugar/honey, but I so enjoyed no additives. Would definitely return, yum. read more

This cafe only serves coffee and pastries- NO FOOD! They closed their kitchen and no longer serve food. The coffee tastes great and the environment is good. But if you're coming here for breakfast based on the Yelp photos, be aware that they no longer have an operating kitchen! read more

I felt like it was so watered down and I only drank about half. It felt like I was drinking water. There's way better cafes around the area. read more

Really good coffee but very dirty sofas. I came in the latter hours and sat, enjoying my drink. I noticed a huge finger nail on the sofa to my left. I did my best to ignore it. I came back the next day, in the morning and the mail was still there. Looking closer, the couches just never get any attention. Hair, crumbs, just gross. Hopefully this will get more attention, as if you clean a table, you should give the couches a wipe down too. But when it warms up, sitting outside will be best, as. Boxx is located in the heart of the LA Arts District. I would say that out of all the coffee shops in the Arts District, Boxx has the most decent seating area and placement. The background music is not too loud and it's not too busy during the day. Drinks are decent with good amount of drinks and pastries selection. If you can find parking, I would recommend Boxx if you are looking for a place to work remotely or just to catch up with a couple of friends. read more

Love the place, the decor, the ambiance, the outdoor seating /people watching and of course the coffee. You can tell the owners are serious about their coffee. they roast their own. I would go there even more often if parking wasn't such a problem and if they didn't close at 6pm. I often drive by after work, before I head over to my art studio nearby. If I can find parking, I go to Boxx to decompress with a cup of their wonderfully presented Turkish coffee. I know it's a coffee house not a cafe, but if I could add anything to their menu, it'd probably be low carb, high protein food items such as a cheese plate perhaps. Cheese and nuts? Cheese, walnuts, dried apricots, tomatoes and cucumber slices?? That'd hit a spot. But they are great at what they set out to be, a hip yet welcoming coffee house with amazing coffee! read more

very cute coffee shop, coffee was solid - I got the oat milk latte + fudge brownie. I was a bit confused after parking in the lot and had to walk through the aliso apt patio, but parking is validated for 2 hours so don't worry about trying to find street parking or paying that extra $4. Interior is pretty intimate, but they have outside seating as well. Would go here again to try the other drinks! read more

Enjoyed the pour over Kenyan and Ethiopian coffees. The ambiance was really quiet and relaxing in comparison to other cafes in the area. I would suggest paying the extra to park next door rather than on the street. Overall good experience if you are a bit of a coffee snob for taste versus trendy drinks. read more

A car pulled out right in front of me just as I arrived, so I was able to park very easily. Another friend arrived later than I did, and she said she couldn't find a parking spot at all. She drove around for quite a while looking for one before finally finding street parking. Last night, we also had some tiramisu, and since I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine, I decided to have a caffeine-free ade instead of coffee or tea. It was a little sweet for my taste, but it was ok. We sat outside on the outdoor patio and talked and talked and talked. We had such a fun time together! However, it was actually pretty cold outside last night. I remember thinking that it felt surprisingly chilly. But what was even crazier was how FREEZING cold it was inside the café! They had the air conditioning turned up so high that both my friends and I felt like we were going to freeze to death. The restroom is inside, and I also went inside to get some water, so I mentioned to one of the male employees that it was freezing inside. He told me that they didn't feel cold at all because they were working, and that THEY were actually feeling really hot. I went back to our table and told my friends what he had said, and they were like, "WHAT?! We're freezing to death over here!" The parking lot here is actually pretty large, so I was wondering why it was so difficult to find a parking spot. Apparently, at night, the left side is the café, while on the right side there is a bar where people can drink and also play games. There was a huge line of people waiting outside the bar last night, so I'm guessing that's probably why the parking lot gets so crowded and it's hard to find a spot. It was also pretty chilly outside last night because of the low temperature, so one thing I wished they had on the outdoor patio was heaters. That would have made sitting outside much more comfortable on a cold night.

He was an absolute delight to meet, and he brought my matcha latte to me at the table when it was prepared. He suggested I get the cream top on it, and boy was that the perfect recommendation. I would say I'm a little bit of a matcha fiend... I think I got a matcha latte at 3 different places this day... and this one far surpassed the others. I think it was one of the best matcha lattes I have ever drank to-date. It was perfectly green, the matcha quality was phenomenal, both taste and look-wise. The texture was just right, perfectly creamy with barely any grittiness. The cream top only added to the drink, and didn't take away from the matcha flavor at all, which I feel like has happened at other places for me. I'm dreaming of this matcha latte days later, and need to go back to Kokoro No Coffee as soon as I am in town again. This was a spectacular find, and I hope this spot gets all the love it deserves! Having a sip before mixing the Vienna latter was incredible, the sweet cream followed with the nutty strong espresso flavour then getting a refreshing splash of milk made a great combo with the Biscoff. I actually liked the drink less after its all mixed because it was too creamy for my taste. (I normally like my coffee black) My hojicha latte was great, but it was also too milky for me. So I went up and asked if it would taste good dirty, with an espresso shot in it, and the barista said yes. I ordered an espresso shot and instead of charging me full price, they only charged me the add on espresso shot for the drink! ($1.50 instead of $4) It was very kind of them since it was absolutely my mistake for not ordering the right drink in the first place. The shot added much depth and flavour to the hojicha latte I was craving. Thanks for the wonderful service. I'm definitely coming back to try their other specialty drinks.

I wasn't sure what to expect from the toast, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I originally wanted to try the mango sticky rice flavored shaved ice because it looked really good in the photos, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I journeyed here yesterday, hopeful for a coffee oasis, only to be greeted by closed doors. Yelp hours amnesia strikes again - management, please make sure to always update! But, behold, a new day dawned, and disappointment faded into the past. First impressions: major kudos on the jaw-dropping interior design and decor. They've turned the place into a warm haven for both business meetings and scholarly endeavors. Nature casually hangs out with you, thanks to an array of lovely plants, while a wall of artistically displayed books adds the perfect touch. Now, the coffee - oh, the coffee! Boxx Coffee is a great stop if you're in Downtown Los Angeles and appreciate quality coffee. I ordered a cortado, and it was excellent--smooth, balanced, and perfectly showcasing the espresso without being overpowered by the milk. Asked if I could put my sugar in my cup before they pulled the shot in my cappuccino. Even snobby Blue Bottle have no issues with that. However this shop does. The guy at the register blamed the owners which could be true in his defense. If so it doesn't get more pretentious that. The atmosphere was sterile as well.
