I came by at 5:00 to pick up and they said they're had just started the job. But the guy said "it will just be a little bit now. Not long". So when I told him I wanted a specific time quote, he said it would be about an hour. What a joke. Everyone who works here was flippant and incompetent. The girl on the phone when my wife called literally scoffed out loud and said "I guess.." when she asked to go get an actually quoted time on the completion. Totally bad. Nothing good to say about them. I don't trust their diagnosis. Previous week they recharged the AC with dyed freon and wanted the car back in a couple of days to detect any leaks. I made an appointment for the re-check at 8 am for a 15 minute job. At 4 pm, they hadn't worked on the car and asked me to come next working day for change of AC valve. When I asked for refund of $250 they had charged me the previous week, they immediately changed the valve in the parking lot in 5 minutes. It has made me suspicious about them. read more

We have had a couple of repairs done here. Each time the price was good, the service professional and done right the first time, and on time. They have been honest about what needed and didn't need to be done. Both repairs were done on my wife's Honda Odyssey. The first was a wobble in the front end on the highway. They replaced one front wheel drive axle and said the other was fine. The van has been great for two years. Recently we had the rear brakes done, and everything is working perfect. Got us in fast and out fast. Great price, great service. On this particular brake job the parts to do the job myself were only about $35 cheaper than they charged to do it for me. I took my car in for a diagnostic service on Friday. When I got it back, I didn't immediately check the rearview camera, but later realized it had stopped working. Due to my schedule, I wasn't able to return to the shop until Wednesday when I took the car in for the necessary repairs identified during the diagnostic. Before handing over my keys, I informed them that the rearview camera had stopped working since Friday and asked them to check and fix it. The representative assured me they would look into it. However, when I went to pick up my car, I was told that the technician refused to fix it without charging, as diagnosing the issue would take time. They suspected a wiring problem but made no effort to address it unless I paid extra. What frustrates me is the lack of transparency. If they had no intention of checking the issue without an additional charge, they should have informed me upfront when taking the car. Instead, they took the car in for repairs but ignored the problem that arose immediately after their diagnostic service. This experience shows a lack of ethics and customer care. Came in due to a knocking sound coming from my front suspension. Had got an estimate done and repairs was over $600. I took the initiative and got it repaired back in October! Help!!! I have been taken advantage of by Brakes Plus!!!! I've Been dealing with a manager by the name of Zane and he was quickly revved up in defense mode. Now that I've read the reviews I understand why. Do not take your car here for brake services. The job is always done incompletely, which leads to more extensive problems like rotors. I have been to this shop five times within the last year dated November 2024 now January. 24th, 2025. The same part which is front wheel hub bearing assembly claims it was replaced January 2024 and has the same issue today which has now went into extensive issues such as brake pads worn out too fast, which are ceramic brakes and also has destroyed new rotors. I tried talking with the manager Zane he has tried and tried to make this a customer issue, but having the receipts to prove the work was never done properly from the beginning, which I have five different receipt stating there was an issue November 2024 for indication there was a noise but no safety concerns. meaning November 2024 to January 2025 there's been a noise and they said there was no problem. Manager stated in the first estimate "right front bearing has significant play causing damage to the brakes due to the movement when turning the wheels while driving to suggest it to replace this as it is a safety issue at the time alignment need it after replacement"! Keep in mind this has been an issue since November, and today ending bill in the amount of $1475.49. There goes the warranty, so what's happening is they're failing to fix issues to lead to more issue so they can keep their business afloat,!!!!! They got the right one today and I'm here to say this place is a scam of a business! This company is not a good place to visit on Custer at El Dorado managed by Zane. Being a female is difficult enough trying to get work done on your car , a statement that Zane made today regarding "every customers financial situation is different" A person appearing to have money that doesn't mean you take a vantage of the situation! but every customer is a customer, and they deserve to be treated with respect dignity, and also not taken advantage of and charged for items that were never properly fixed. Any true mechanic will tell you will bearings normally have a longer life span than one month. I would think twice before visiting Brakes Plus if you don't want to be scammed or taken advantage of... the manager failed to do specific research on what happened to my account. I brought my Audi Q5 for an oil and filter change. Everything was great until i picked up my car and asked Ryan Wall the general manager of the shop to do another job for me, and to install my customized MGP caliper. He said yes, In the process of installation they put back the wheel without testing and measuring the gap between the caliper and the wheels. They tighten up the lug nuts and sure enough they ruined and scratch one of the caliper. Ryan called me and said we have a problem, we need a spacer in the front wheels because we didn't have enough room for the caliper and the wheel to turn, I said really? You supposed to know that. well, they are supposed to be the brakes specialist I figured they should know all that stuff from the first place, right? It would had been ok if he come clean and admit their mistake. But he was trying to justify their mistake and insult me personally and made it sound like they didn't do anything wrong, I was in shocked. He should have man up from his own mistake and try to fix the problem as the GM but no. He said, we can't fix it and I quote him (and I will not replace the $35 caliper) he obviously don't know anything about customize caliper and how much it run for. Ryan was very arrogant.I t's very upsetting after spending money from their previous work the same day. This is how he was treating me. I will not go back there anymore. I entrusted my car to this shop, expecting a comprehensive and accurate diagnosis of a serious brake issue where the pedal had to be pushed all the way to the floor with some serious force to get the car to stop. The pads, rotors, calipers, and brake lines were all fine. Despite evident symptoms that pointed to the brake booster, the team dismissed this and simply recommended a brake fluid flush then told me all was fixed. Scam alert! First of all, zero stars for customer service. I made an appointment, and was met by a very rude employee who took my key and that's about it. They quoted me a ridiculous price of $599 for front brake repair, which is grossly inflated. I took my car elsewhere and the rotors did not need replacing and my brakes were fixed for under $150. They were simply going to rip me off and perform unneeded and unnecessary repairs. In these economic times, I find it absolutely disgusted that this business is price gouging. The front brakes were fine but the rear...well...yikes. My bad. The gentlemen at 200 El Dorado Parkway Brakes Plus were diligent, honest, kind and professional, and mercifully patient. All I can say is Thank You for not letting me leave without a repair. There was a hail storm and lots of rain after I left there. I took my car in to check on a knocking sound I was hearing. Everyone I came into contact with was so helpful and the knocking sound was fixed with a simple part. I asked them if they could also take a look at my windshield wiper tank because I knew there was hole in it somewhere. After looking at it they found an entire rodent hotel had been built in and around that area. The manager, Zane, ordered a part that came within hours, and it was fixed right away. He even took the time to sit and give me some strategies/ideas on how to keep my car safe from different types of rodents. It was so helpful! FYI: This is at the corner of Custer and El Dorado on the southwest corner facing El Dorado! I've had two really great experiences here! When I knew I needed new brakes I started to call around to see who had the best deal. I quickly learned that some places tried to hide the true cost by naming a certain price and then mentioning "plus fees and labor" which always brought it to about the same price. It was VERY refreshing at this location to get an honest answer immediately on the phone, from a very friendly person. When I arrived the customer service stayed top notch, everyone was friendly and courteous, their waiting area has a TV and free coffee/water. I like that from the waiting area you can even see them working on your car. I also liked that when they noticed that a few other things were wearing out on my wheels (the car is 5 years old) they just told me about them, gave some advice on how long I could go without changing it (6 months and a year on another thing) and then gave me a price estimate. There was ZERO sales pressure to do it right now, no scare tactics, no negative comments. As a customer who doesn't know a lot about cars I really valued their honesty, and because they were honest and I had a little extra cash I went ahead and made one of the changes. Their quality of work has lasted (it's been several months!) and I even went back this week for an oil change and drove out of my way to go there because I knew the level of service I'd get. They had my name and address so they had email plus they confirmed it back, now for the negative at check out I had to push the cashier for info on my brakes and he finally said I need rear brakes and they put synth. oil in my car without asking for $91.00 and did not check the engine on light. They would not accept a coupon that they mailed to me for oil change discount because it did not have my name on it. They do not offer senior discounts or military discounts so don't ask. I have had several things done on my vehicle there, took it back Saturday and they redid my brakes since pads were under lifetime warranty....well I get it back at the end of the day and it started shaking when I applied the brakes...they told me I needed arm controls and motor mounts to correct the issue at a 2400 cost. I barely got it home few blocks away. I had it dropped off at Integrity Automotive, and they did the brake job correctly...and it is fine without any need for the additional recommended fixes. It basically came down to Brakes Plus cutting corners using a machine for the rotors and not doing a good brake job. So use at your own risk..I won't be going there again. I lost out on use of my car for 4 days, concert tickets I had for Saturday night, only good thing is the manager refunded me the money I paid for them to mess up my vehicle in the first place! read more
